I was a YoDerm user until the platform switched to Apostrophe...I think it started as a monthly…read moresubscription-type thing (or that's just how I read it), so I kept using the treatments I had and planned to find another online dermatologist. Wasn't super happy about that, as some other providers have a clunky set up for appointments. Never got around to finding a new platform and my insurance changed along the way, so my refills of Aczone that I had leftover from YoDerm suddenly shot up to retail price (a little over $400). So, my skin slowly went downhill without treatments for a while, and I finally started looking around for another derm online. Apostrophe popped up in the top of every search, so I decided to check it out. My old account was still there, with treatment records and all. After a bit of looking around, I gave in and decided to give them a shot. My doctor was the same one I had with YoDerm, which was an added bonus. So far, I am really happy with everything! They send you up to 3 months supply of each prescription (3 month prescriptions get a discount) from their compound pharmacy, all in a cute little box with all of the medication info. The Clindamycin + Niacinamide topical formula is great- no burning and it's moisturizing (unlike Aczone, which feels dry/gritty before you put on moisturizer). Also, I love getting 3 months of supplies up front. If I use my local pharmacy, I can only get 30 days at a time. That's 3 trips to the store avoided, which is great during a pandemic! The pricing is a little high on some medications, but pretty fair on most. They cut off the (already) cheap cost of the appointment if you buy at least one of your prescriptions. Considering that most other online derms charge quite a bit per appointment and you're saving that cost at Apostrophe when you order with them, I think it all kind of evens out. I'm really looking forward to bright, clear skin again. Especially since I'm stuck at home and not wearing much makeup these days :)

Um no Shirley. I have something called a J-O-B during the weekday that I am not going to leave in the middle of the day to get a facial for. After telling me that the 3 weekends ahead were booked, she finally relented and booked me for a Saturday (GASP!) appointment FOUR weeks from that date. Should have guessed what would happen....... On the day of my appointment, I circled around the block 6x to find parking as the place is located in an old dowdy suite along busy El Camino around the corner from a Shell gas station. Yes. Fancy. Finally found parking 3 blocks away. As I trudged into the old nasty looking closet that they call a door, I announce to the receptionist, "Hi, I have an appointment today at 3pm." Receptionist : "Um. You do?" "Yes- I booked it about a month ago with this lady with an accent?" "Oh yes- that's the owner Shirley but I'm sorry no appointment booked for you today." End of story. No follow up phone calls or anything whatsoever that resembled an apology. I filed a formal complaint with Groupon and should have taken the other Yelp reviews more seriously where Shirley herself responds back to negative reviews by stating and I quote, "However if you think that "it was not worth it," We wish you the best for finding a spa that could satisfy your need in San Jose."
