I had a terrible LHR experience with Anu. I have extensive prior LHR experience due to PCOS (30+…read moresessions) and returned for treatment after hair regrowth following pregnancy. During my 2nd session, Anu increased the laser settings and made 2-3 passes over my face and neck, resulting in significant burns--the first laser burns I have ever experienced. When I raised concerns, she denied increasing the settings, claimed the marks were not burns, and attempted to lie despite my clear recollection. At subsequent appts, she never inquired about the burns, my skin condition, or treatment progress. She lowered the settings and continued making 2-3 passes each session. Since the burns, I have developed persistent hyperpigmentation and dark patches on my face that have lasted over 8 months. Even after my final session, I developed new dark spots on my upper lip after 3 passes. When I raised these concerns, Anu dismissed them as being due to my Indian skin rather than acknowledging that her technique was the cause, considering I've never had this happen before. Her treatment style also felt rushed and careless. The laser frequently fired on my ears, and during one session she unexpectedly treated my forehead without discussion, claiming she saw a hair, then stating it was actually a wrinkle from furrowing my brows. My final session was the most upsetting. After asking if she could reduce the cryogen cooling spray, she instead turned it off completely and performed the entire treatment without cooling. She claimed this would improve effectiveness and stated I should appreciate her effort. As a NP myself, this seemed questionable, so I researched it afterward. Cryogen cooling is a standard safety feature used to reduce the risk of burns and does not interfere with treatment efficacy. Operating the laser without it offers no clinical benefit and requires lower settings to avoid injury. Intentionally turning it off is negligence and malpractice. Settings must have been consistently low to allow 2-3 passes without burns, which explains my poor hair reduction when compared with previous providers. When I expressed my concerns, Anu defended her decision to turn off cryogen by citing personal experience and stating she'd done the same for others. She measured success by seeing surface hair singe during treatment rather than long-term hair reduction, which is the actual goal of LHR. Throughout our conversations, she was defensive, dismissive, and unwilling to take responsibility for the burns, pigmentation changes, or her deviation from standard protocols. Another issue was repeated misinformation. On multiple occasions, she told me that shaving causes hair to grow back thicker, stating this came from "old Indian beliefs." This is a well-known myth that has been repeatedly disproven. Given that LHR patients are routinely instructed to shave before treatment for optimal results, it is inappropriate to tell patients this myth and cause unnecessary anxiety. She also advised that finer hairs don't need to be shaved. This directly contradicts standard LHR guidance, which recommends shaving all treated hairs so the laser energy targets the follicle rather than surface hair. Taken together with the burns, pigmentation issues, repeated passes, and use of the laser without cryogen cooling, these comments reinforced my impression that Anu relies on personal beliefs and anecdotal experience rather than established, evidence-based protocols. This is particularly troubling because LHR already has well-established standards for both safety and effectiveness. Other notable issues: awful handling of appt rescheduling, lack of patient privacy (doors left open and being able to hear full convos) and staff being dishonest when asking to have a credit card on file by falsely blaming the system. Overall, I found Anu to be arrogant, careless, unprofessional, dismissive and overly reliant on her own judgment rather than established best practices. She provided a refund, but I can't get back my time or clear skin. I strongly recommend against seeing her.

I've actually been a loyal customer for years and have even recommended friends and family here, which makes this situation even more upsetting. When I was sold this package, I was clearly told that I would be able to choose which body areas I wanted treated at each appointment. This flexibility was a major reason I agreed to move forward. However, when I recently called to schedule an appointment for a specific area, I was told that I must do full body treatments and cannot select individual areas, which directly contradicts what I was told at the time of purchase. On top of that, I was also told I could use a credit card for payments, but when they attempted to run my card, I was then told I had to use a debit card instead. This was not communicated upfront, and I had specifically clarified this before purchasing. I reached out to the business directly to resolve this. Someone from the facility did call me back and said that upper management would follow up with me, but I never received a call. It has now been over two weeks with no response. I made a good-faith effort to handle this privately, but the lack of follow-through and the inconsistency in what was promised vs. what is being delivered is extremely disappointing--especially for a $4,000 service. At this point, I feel that the package was misrepresented during the sales process, and the lack of communication from management only adds to the frustration.

I was very disappointed with my Botox experience here…read more Before my treatment, I specifically explained that I do not like the feeling of heavy brows or being unable to raise my eyebrows. I asked for only a very small amount to be placed in high up my forehead for that reason. About a week later, my eyebrows became noticeably uneven. My left eyebrow sat much higher, while my right eyebrow felt low, heavy, and made my eyes look tired. I also had my masseter (TMJ) Botox done with the same number of units I always receive elsewhere, but I noticed little to no improvement. I'm not sure if the placement was off, but the results were very different from what I've experienced in the past. I called the office to express my concerns, and they invited me back for a touch-up. Unfortunately, I left feeling even more disappointed with how the situation was handled. I was essentially told that my options were to either add more Botox to the left side to balance things out, wait for the right side to wear off, and for my TMJ, to purchase additional units. While paying for more units wasn't necessarily the issue, I was disappointed that there was little acknowledgment of my concerns or any sense of empathy. The solution felt more like, "Buy more Botox," rather than addressing what had gone wrong. I ended up using the remaining couple units to lower my left eyebrow so they would at least appear more symmetrical. While this made them look more even, both eyebrows now feel extremely heavy, and my eyes constantly look tired. I've decided not to purchase additional Botox for my TMJ because, overall, I'm disappointed with both the quality of my Botox results and the customer service I received. Anyone who has had to be on it knows what a MASSIVE pain in the ass the stupid iPledge system is. The system is so difficult to time correctly, it's the reason I didn't finish the full round of the drug the first time I was on it. After trying a dermatologist in Walnut Creek and having them screw up the iPledge three different times, I started searching for someone new and found Wallach Derma Center. Everyone here is on top of their game when dealing with the tricky iPledge crap. They were excellent about entering my labwork on time and making sure my prescription was never delayed. Everyone was wonderful, but I have to give a massive shout out and big THANK YOU specifically to Zita. She was always there to help out when I had a million questions and always made sure everything was done in a timely manner. She is a superstar and I'm so thankful for her. Wallach Derma Center came as a doctor referral as I wanted an annual routine appointment. I made an appointment and went in on December 30th, 2025. Very nice office, all staff was friendly and efficient. Dermatologist and assistant cut off 2 moles for biopsy and froze a couple of "concern" areas all in a matter of roughly 45 minutes. I paid a $50 co-pay. After a couple of weeks, I received a lab fee for just over $250, which I understand and paid. This week I received an additional invoice from Wallach for over $370 for my patient portion of the visit. I have attached the invoice with over $1,000 in charges for the 45 mins visit on 12/30/25. My insurance covered roughly $625 of these charges. I reached out to Wallach stating I felt these charges were excessive and asked for a review. I received an email back the following day stating they were correct with no adjustments. For a routine check-up to ultimately cost me over $670 out of pocket with good insurance is a complete rip off. Make sure you do your due diligence as all dermatologists are not the same. Nice enough people, but I won't be back.

I recall the first time I went around 2020, I was taken care of by Dr. Potozkin himself. I happen to read news articles online how he was big in SoCal and he had celebrity clientele. I went to a dermatology chain in the bay after seeing a couple of doctors, I got fed up and needed someone new. When I went, my first thought was, "Why are all of their nurses and assistants so attractive?!" Then I met Dr. Potozkin. No BS, he handled my problem not only thoroughly, but relatively fast too. And the cost with insurance was so much lower than my other visits to other clinics COMBINED. Then I went again in late 2024, but only this time, it was with a physician assistant named by Heather Nudo. I went there for Potozkin, so I was a little disappointed and scared the quality of care may not be up to par. I was wrong. Heather analyzed the issue, provided an opinion, and gave me options. She took care of me relatively fast, and then scheduled a follow-up for no charge. I was tremendously satisfied with the work. So now, I am under the impression that everyone at that office could take care of me. The only downside is how far the place is, given how I live in the South Bay. Wish they had another branch around here. This place is my go-to.

My regular skin cancer screenings and preventive appointments with Charlene Boatright are so reassuring! Charlene is very thorough, careful and knowledgable about any skin-related issues that come up. I feel so confident in her approach and appreciate her emphasis on education and engagement. She's an encyclopedia of skin insights! The medical assistants in this office all are very professional and upbeat. You'll meet them when prepping for an appointment and possibly during the treatment itself. It seems like they've had excellent training in patient care -- it's rare to find a team with such positive attitudes across the board.
