PJ Zarella is the most unreliable, unethical, mechanic I have ever encountered in all my years owning watercraft. I brought my older 1997 Jetski to PJ back in October 2020. It needed significant work. I was told by one of his mechanics that if my job was the only job in the shop that it would take about 3 days to complete. It has been almost a 2 year saga at this point. PJ held it all winter long and never worked on it. He held it for all of 2021 constantly claiming not having staff or parts he needed. He did have the parts he needed for most of the summer of 2021 and never finished the job. He constantly gives promises and never follows through. He won't schedule time or appointments probably because he knows he won't follow through. Towards the end of 2021, he said that all he needed to do was water test it. He never did. He held it all winter of 2021-22. At the start of the season 2022, he again claimed it just needed to be water tested once it got warm. It is now July 2022, he still hasn't water tested it and refuses to schedule a time to do it. You might ask why didn't I just take it back. I tried and he wouldn't give it to me. I had an attorney contact him and PJ was a regular no-show with the attorney. I understand that 2020-21 was an unusual time with supply chain issues impacting parts and supplies. But this goes well beyond those issues. You would think that a mechanic would want to just finish the job so he could get paid. You would think that a business owner who is low on staff would work outside normal business hours to deliver on his promises to his customers. My entire experience with PJ has shown him to be irresponsible, unorganized, rude, and lazy. He is rarely at his shop and has ghosted me regularly. He has no comprehension of any concept of customer service. By all accounts from people who have worked there, he has no idea how to run a business. Do yourself a favor and bring your business elsewhere. He'll seem all nice and act like he will take care of you...it's an act.

I'd say they are pretty comparable price-wise to the other places that specialize in basic service items such as oil changes, but they come in at around 1/3 the price of dealerships - which is unbelievable but true. It's a very clean and pleasant facility. They give you several choices of the grade of oil you want to buy, and explain them clearly - although the price signage could be a little more clear. I appreciate that they worked to resolve the issue, even though it took longer than I had hoped. After my daughter's oil change, her car started leaking oil. We brought it back and within five minutes we were told everything had been checked, everything was fine, and the car was safe to drive. Unfortunately, because the car wasn't parked in one place for very long, we had no idea it was still leaking. It wasn't until the car sat in our driveway for three days that we discovered it was continuing to leak oil. By then, she had already driven the vehicle all the way from Connecticut to North Carolina with the leak. Brand-new driveway covered with a big oil stains. We took the car to our local Take 5 in North Carolina, where they found the problem almost immediately: the Connecticut location had failed to install the gasket on the drain plug during the oil change. Mistakes happen, but what is unacceptable is that we recognized there was a problem, brought the car back, and were reassured that everything was fine after only a few minutes. That reassurance led to a 600+ mile drive with an active oil leak. This could have caused catastrophic engine damage, and instead it left us with a damaged brand-new driveway. This wasn't just an honest mistake it was a failure to properly diagnose and correct a problem that they created after we specifically returned because the car was leaking oil. Extremely disappointing service and a preventable situation that never should have happened.
