Overcharge for parts and labor and told him I didn't need a diagnosis test and did it anyway.

From the moment I called needing an estimate for brakes on my Cadillac Escalade, Eric and the team…read moreat The Quiet Zone provided exceptional service that went far beyond what I expected. They truly went above and beyond when my Chrysler 200 wouldn't start. Eric came to my home to jump it, and when that didn't work, he and his associate even pushed the car out of my garage to make it easier for AAA to tow. The next day, they picked up the Cadillac, gave me a clear and honest quote for the brake repair, and thoroughly explained other items I should monitor and address in the future. They also printed out the recall information for the vehicle and, knowing we're new to the area and still learning the local roads, arranged for me to have the recall work done at a convenient nearby location. When I went to pick up the vehicles, both were ready at the same time and I was there alone. Eric immediately offered for one of his office staff to drive one of the cars to my home while I followed with the other and brought her back. The level of care and thoughtfulness made me feel like part of the family. It's so refreshing to find a family-owned business that genuinely values its customers and shows it in every interaction. The Quiet Zone has earned my complete trust and loyalty. I could never go anywhere else for my vehicle service needs. Highly recommend -- give them a try and you'll see the difference for yourself. Thank you to Eric and everyone at The Quiet Zone!

Finding a trustworthy mechanic is simply no easy task. A close relative with extensive experience…read moreand knowledge in automotive repair, has been bringing his vehicle to Davis St. Auto for years. I'm now grateful to have taken his advice. After dissatisfaction with service elsewhere, I seriously can say it's a relief to know that a repair shop like this exists. The mechanics are extremely honest, prices very reasonable and repairs professionally rendered. Highly recommend if you want the job done right - without that usual dent-in-the-wallet feeling.

For the first time since being on Facebook, I am going to write something about a business because…read moreit was that bad. DAVIS STREET AUTO in Oakville, CT. We need to have our A/C recharged in our truck. So my husband set up an appointment for tomorrow, but didn't ask any questions. I had questions, so I called and here is how it went: I stated who I was and why I was calling. I asked about the pricing and the attitude began. He didn't like that I wanted to get a price first. He stated that he couldn't give one because he didn't know what was wrong with it. I said, I didn't state that there was something wrong. We just wanted a recharge. Well, it got worse because apparently I don't know anything. He gave details about why you would get a recharge. I asked, what if you take it apart and the price is too high? He stated nastily that I could take my truck elsewhere. I tried to asked more questions about the A/C and he stated aggressively that the only reason you need a recharge is because there is a leak. Well, it just so happened that we had just done our car, which the A/C wasn't working in either. They did all the dye stuff and other things but never found a leak and simply recharged it and it has been working fine. That ended up being covered under warranty due to previous work on it. He had stated that he was busy and didn't have time to talk. But I had a couple more questions. He said he was doing a favor for my husband and that if I don't like it to take the truck elsewhere. I said that I was asking questions based on what others had told me. He said, well then, take the truck to them. The conversation got more nasty and aggressive from his point, so I asked are you the manager? His reply was with profanity and stated that he IS the owner. I was shocked. I asked, do you speak to all your customers this way? He again insulted me and nastily told me to take my business elsewhere and that he has been in business for 26 years and never needed my business before and he doesn't need it now. He then finished with a nasty hang up. Keep in mind, his tone was very aggressive. Now, I am still calm, but bewildered as to why he would speak to me this way? I couldn't understand this. So, I decided to call back. I asked, did you just hang up on me? He said, I said have a good day and them hung up. I said, I was just trying to ask questions. He nastily told me he doesn't need my business and to go elsewhere and that I don't have to bring it here. I began to state that I will tell my son, who recommended this place, and hung up on me. I called my husband and told him what happened. He couldn't believe it. I asked, was he nasty to you? He said, well, I was pleading for him to get the truck in and he said he would try to squeeze me in. I said he raised his voice to me, insulted me, swore at me and told me he was doing you a favor and that he has been in business for 26 and never needed a our business and doesn't need it now. We just had him do 2 oil changes for us this year. We were just beginning to give him business. No more. My conclusion: This is the 2nd place over the past 10 years that I have dealt with men who don't like women who ask questions, especially about money and details. They get aggressive, yell, insult you and demean you as if you are beneath them. The last one was in my face and was so bad that I had to call the police. Turned out they were trying to set us up for fraudulent work. I am tired of this and for the first time, I am going to speak out against what was clearly a male-chauvinist. Men who think woman are a bother, a burden and have no right to question anything and that they can speak to them or treat them as poorly as they want. Well, this time, I am not going to just simply take it. DAVIS STREET AUTO owner stated that he doesn't need any business. So ladies, don't give him any and tell your men to stay away from him too until he treats women with respect. We have the right to question about pricing and job details no different than a man. What a jerk!
