I shared my vision for a "Blue Lemonade" brunch, think Cool Blue & Luminous Lemon, the colors for the spring, and he understood what I was trying to create, somewhat. We secured a Sunday date, because who doesn't love a Sunday brunch, worked through a custom family-style menu, discussed the flow of the event, and everything came together beautifully. One thing I really appreciated was being able to come in that morning to decorate and make the space my own. The Green Room is already a beautiful quaint venue, but it also serves as the perfect space if you're someone who enjoys designing an experience. We welcomed my guests with a signature drink I came up with called the Blue Lemon Theory. It was a blueberry-lemon French 75 that perfectly complemented the theme and was a crowd favorite. I also had mimosas with several juice options including pineapple-guava, cranberry, and strawberry. For brunch, I opted for a family-style menu, and 95% of the dishes were a hit. We started with einkorn biscuits served with honey butter and fig jam and whipped ricotta toast on toasted brioche. The biscuits weren't good but the jam made it manageable. For the mains, we had brisket hash, strawberry mascarpone pancakes, patatas bravas, confit roasted chicken, scrambled eggs and black garlic shrimp.
