Very very good Italian spot in Montrose the vibes are small and intimate without it being too classy. The food was amazing, my favorite dish I had was the octopus. It came in this amazing tomatoes sauce with perfectly cooked beans. The brussel sprouts are also a must get dish. We didn't have any of the pizzas but several people around us did and they look like a large portion and seems very tasty. The wine list was very nice with good prices

I treated myself to dinner here to celebrate an accomplishment, and I am glad I did. The general vibe is so cozy and intimate here, blending humble and refined elements - plain wood tables and ordinary glassware, with high quality items therein. I would recommend every item I tried. The charred carrots over lemon pistachio yogurt was far more flavorful than it sounds - a perfect balance of the earthy nuts and char with the tangy citrus yogurt. The Tagliatelle al Ragu Bolognese is a generous serving of their freshly made pasta and the sauce is so satisfying and tasty. The Mille Foglie is light and not too sweet, a delicate way to end the meal after the meaty entree. Don't forget the espresso with a lemon twist! The wine list is also good. They have a good selection of Italian wines. There is some room for improvement in terms of timely and organized service attention - I had to flag down the servers a few times, which feels awkward.

Baked tagliollini - That's like a pasta baked in cheese. Taste very much like the cheese wheel pasta. Taste heavy but good. Dolce Vita pizza - Not bad, had better but still enjoyed immensely. Dark chocolate tartufo - I was excited to try it but I think my expectation was too high. The chocolate ice cream melts pretty quickly. The dark chocolate shell too sweet. Didn't taste dark chocolate. I thought there were hazelnuts and turned out just pistachios. But it wasn't bad. Just too sweet overall for me.

Super good Italian food and its affordable. I'm 100% going back to get the mushroom risotto and baked pasta again. Next time I'm gonna try the pear pizza and seafood risotto.

Wow. Been looking for some authentic tasting Italian since our trip to Rome. Found it. This place is amazing...romantic setting, quiet conversation and the sound of silverware on plates. Sat at the bar...and the service was excellent. Wife and I had the baby octopus with cannelini beans, suppli, cacio e pepe and the tagliatelle al ragu bolognese and reggiano. Meal was amazing. Everything was seasoned and delicious. Jad the Dates with marscapone in a red wine reduction for dessert. Mmmm...excellent. This is an excellent spot for a date night or a small getaway with the one you love. Great food, good wine and some conversation.

We've been here so many times. Nothing but good things to say! 1) food- amazing. Goes without saying. The cacio is my favorite. Truly spectacular. 2) service - fantastic. Speedy, informative, attentive, and friendly. 3) ambiance - a perfect date night spot. We recommend it extensively to friends going on dates! We will we back. We always come back!

We came here for a birthday dinner with a group of friends. In Montrose fashion, the place seems like you're stepping into someone's home - it's quaint and cozy. They had a nice wine list that was decently priced. We got a few starters: - Carrots - surprised these were cold, and honestly expected something better (3/5) - Brussels - these are not your typical Brussels - they're shaved and cold and we didn't love them (3/5) - farro salad with beets - this was pretty nice! (4/5) - Meatballs - pretty good - came with 3 large meatballs, so perfect to share (4/5) We also got a few bruschetta: - avocado - this was good! Basically like a mini avocado toast (4/5) - burrata - my favorite - it apparently has fish on it but couldn't really taste it (5/5) - whipped ricotta and peppers - this was okay, I love whipped ricotta but not sure if the peppers is the best combo with it (3/5) We all got separate main entrees - - the mushroom risotto was a favorite among the group (4/5) - cacio e pepe- was good, but left a bit more to be desired (4/5) - Harry's bar pasta - was good - tasted a bit like a carbonara (4/5) For dessert we had - dark chocolate tartufo- so yummy! If you like dark chocolate, gelato and m cherries- get it! (5/5) - tiramisu brûlée- yummy! Tiramisu with some crunch (5/5) - the team was nice enough to bring a panna cotta on the house for the birthday, which was also yummy Overall, nice ambience and service. Desserts were great, food was decent. Unsure if we'll be back given the great Italian options in the city.

I think that the place was overall pretty gold. The ambiance was really nice, I like the environment. The service was exceptional, waiter waited patiently until all party members arrived before approaching with the menu. The food I will say left me wanting a bit more flavor. Our selection of ham and cheese was great but my pizza was missing some seasoning. A touch of balsamic drizzle over the top would've been great. The bolognese pasta I would say was delicious. Would go back.

I've been to Vinoteca Poscol three times now, and every time has been such a treat. It's quickly become one of my favorite spots in Houston...perfect for date night, catching up with a friend, or just treating yourself to a cozy, delicious meal. The atmosphere is warm and intimate, with a quiet buzz that makes it feel lively without being loud. It's the kind of place where you want to linger over a glass of wine and a good conversation. The service has always been incredibly friendly and genuine...never rushed, just really thoughtful and attentive in a way that makes you feel taken care of. One of my absolute favorite dishes here is the pheasant pasta. It's a pappardelle with this rich, deeply flavorful sauce that clings perfectly to every bite. The pasta has that ideal texture...tender but still with a little bite, and they definitely don't hold back on the meat. There's a small parking lot next to the restaurant, but more often than not, I end up parking on the street. Totally worth the extra steps. Just a solid, consistently great spot that I always leave happy from. Highly recommend.

Crochette of pumpkin and goat cheese. Very bland, little texture variation even though fried.

Have been meaning to try Vinoteca for years now, and while I'm glad I did, it was just ok. The biggest downer was the service. Our waiter was very nice, as well as the crew that helped out, but there is a distinction between attentive vs intrusive. Was having a business meeting, albeit with a great friend, and the interruptions in the middle of our convo was endless. Middle of a business detail...interrupted just to clear a wine glass. Middle of the next discussion, interrupted to ask to clear a plate we were actually still working on. Next topic...you guessed it, interrupted again. Was the kitchen running out of stemware and plates? Again, they were very nice people, but just need to read the room and your guests' dining experience better. On to the food. The really good stuff was the bruschette of burrata, lemon, and botarga...excellent. As was one of the specials of the day, the cod ravioli...very nice. The altro of truffle egg toast was superb. Not only was the yolk kept creamily good, the aroma coming from the perfectly melted, crispy cheese was pungently beautiful. Last and not least, I'm always a sucker for good seared shishito peppers. The not so great dishes of the had to be the suppli and the pumpkin goat cheese crochette. The suppli tasted like taking the pizza you had in grade school, scraping off the toppings, ball them and fry them. Really...not an exaggeration. The crochette was just bland mush, not enough body to the crust to give any textural component to the bite.

Trying to make it a special night for my partner's birthday, we made a reservation here about a month in advance. The ambiance of this place is wonderful - cute little mom and pop style restaurant, with warm, cozy vibes. However, as vegetarians, the food left much to be desired, despite a plentiful selection (and we are grateful for the numerous vegetarian options!). The best items of the night were pumpkin and goat cheese crochettes but it would have elevated the appetizer if there was a sauce paired with it. Both of our other appetizers, the brussel sprouts and shishito peppers felt a little void of complex flavor and tasted a lot like the oil it was tossed in. For our entree we ended up sharing the eggplant parmigiana which we were surprised that it was not breaded. While the charred style of the eggplant was interesting, we were grateful to have shared the entree as the taste was a little repetitive without much nuance. The service here was quick and really friendly!

I experienced this side of the business during the early phase of the Covid pandemic back in 2020. At the time, during lockdown, going to a wine bar or wine shop just wasn't top of mind. However, I had researched a Cabernet Franc (red wine) called Nicolas Reau Enlèvement Demandé Anjou [Vintage year: 2017]. Reau is kind of a rebel working in the Loire Valley of France who is interested in producing organic, biodynamic wines that are essentially closer to nature and processed differently--more artisanal, so to speak. I read about this wine and wanted to find a bottle locally, which wasn't an easy task as I recall. This is where Vinology comes in. I'm not much of a wine drinker, but had to have a bottle of this excellent wine. Like many people, I preferred to stay indoors during the early part of the pandemic and was kind of nervous about going out. When I called Vinology, I expressed my dilemma, and the guy on the other end of the phone came up with a great solution. He offered to deliver the bottle of wine I purchased to my address. I actually met him at the edge of the garage entrance to where I live. This was great, exceptional above and beyond service. I will always treasure and remember Vinology and plan to support the business more in the future. Hats off to the folks who own and run this wine establishment.

I've had my fair share of Paulie's but never had the chance to come to Camerata...until now. I had been missing out for so long! We journeyed from white to red wines throughout the night. We started out with the Babylonstoren, a chenin blanc from South Africa. We then moved into pink (rose) with the Ana Beirut - a blend of cab sauv, syrah, and tempranillo grapes with a bit of skin contact to give the wine the pink color. Lastly we ordered the Guelbenzu - a red blend of tempranillo, cab sauv, syrah, and graciano. This full-bodied red was the absolute fan favorite of the table. Food options are on the light side: meat & cheese boards, bread, and small bites. We started out with the warm bread - while it's normally served with butter, there's an option to switch that out with olive oil & herbs which is what we did. We then went for the meat & cheese platter. We couldn't decide on which meats or cheeses, so we did the option of ordering all 8! This came with 4 delicious meats and 4 tasty cheeses (from Houston Dairymaids), also with crispy fava beans, olives, pickles, and bread. This was a good amount for our group of 4 to share. Elena was our server and she was absolutely OUTSTANDING. She vibed with us throughout the night and made sure that we were well-taken care of. I loved her energy along with her vast knowledge of wines. We got plenty of good recommendations from her during our time there. I'm super sad that Houston will be losing this gem permanently at the end of the year (and even more sad that I only discovered it in the last month of its existence). The staff seemed to have a bit of a hipster vibe-- not unexpected given the Montrose area-- but were very friendly. They offered suggestions, but let us go with what we wanted to try. There's a food menu along with the drinks, but we were heading to the restaurant next door, so we passed on grabbing food. We ended up going with a couple of glasses of red and a couple of the specialty chocolates. My wife loved her salted caramel chocolate. I enjoyed my peppermint chocolate. For the glasses of wine, I've got better at home for bottles the same price as those glasses.
