Never seen a candy bar for $6 just to start. If it wasn't for a late night craving I definitely would have passed. $17 for these 3 items and it has the gall to ask for a tip after. Never again. Do better Choice hotels

Very beautiful and modern hotel in Austin, Texas. This was my second time staying at this hotel and this time it was even a better experience. Customer service was amazing and they gave me a beautiful city view room. The breakfast was amazing in quality and the breakfast staff were truly kind. Valet was also awesome. The location this hotel is also prime being in the heart of rainy street. However unfortunately the hotel charged me twice as I had to use two different cards at the end and it's been a huge challenge now trying to get my refund for the double charge from the hotel and the choice hotel team. For this reason I am not sure if I will be back.

Hubby and I were looking for a stay getaway and yes staycation is always a good idea and even better when you find a beautiful place to stay! I enjoyed this hotel. Very comfortable stay and the decor is so modern! The hotel is beautiful as soon as you walk in from valet and then head up to the main lobby. So close to downtown and 6th Street where all the fun is also easy freeway access. The front desk staff were very friendly. We wanted to switch rooms the next day due to a better view of the city! Which was well worth it the only thing is you do hear all of the downtown activities so it is loud we didn't mind it just a heads up but the staff do provide earplugs. We did have a problem with the heater it took about 3-4 hours for the room the warm up we had to get assistance. Overall stay was beautiful we didn't get to check out the restaurant inside and the bar closed fairly early. I would recommend staying and would come back for another small weekend getaway with hubby.

Stayed one night for a training. This hotel is very chic! Easy and quick valet service. Friendly and quick Check in process. Rooms were spacious and clean.

Great hotel. Stayed here for business. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Hotel is updated and swanky. My room was very comfortable, with a fridge, comfy beds with 4 pillows on each bed, lots of towels, great walk in shower and great tv with Netflix and Bluetooth set up. Very close to tons of restaurants and bars. Definitely recommend.

I cannot remember what made me choose this hotel, but boy, am I glad I did. You can literally book this hotel and have a wonderful resort style feeling in the middle of downtown Austin. It has two bars and a beautiful outside pool that features ample seatings and lounge chairs. The restaurant was beautiful but a bit confusing. I got chicken and waffles but they had no syrup. At first I was a little annoyed at this until I bit into it. Listen, my little delight when I travel is to try different restaurant's chicken and waffles to see the differences and to rate them. Over the years, I have tried countless of restaurant's chicken and waffles. This was the best hands down chicken and waffles I've ever had! It did not need a drop of syrup. The bacon my husband had was burnt but everything else was good. The cost of the breakfast was reasonable. The staff was amazing and gave us assistance when we needed it. The best thing about this hotel is that there's beautiful restaurants right behind it! And it's only a few minutes walk to the active part of downtown Austin. I have now made it my decision that this is the hotel I will always stay at when visiting Austin!

Where guests were parking but supposedly police officers were giving tickets.

We stumbled upon this hotel and thank goodness we did! Talk about clean, friendly, and overall top notch experience! Everything is new and modernized. Maiah, at the front desk was super friendly and informative. The only downside is parking. You have to pay $50 for valet parking , even though we could have parked across the street, but we were told it's not public parking and police officers were giving tickets to people who parked there. ‍ If it wasn't for valet parking being the so called "only option," would have gave a 5+ Star review! Regardless, my family of 4 will definitely stay here again!

    Catching epic music at Limestone!

@Ashley at valet is always friendly and helpful! Love the entire staff there. Limestone is such a great spot to check out music events and community happenings! It's definitely on my list of places to check out in Austin, TX!

    Beautiful sunset.

We also dined at Nido, the hotel's restaurant, for both dinner and breakfast, and it was definitely a highlight. Located on the topmost floor, Nido offers stunning views of the river and downtown Austin. With both indoor and outdoor seating, the ambiance is elegant and ideal for a special evening. During our visit, we saw a couple of groups celebrating birthdays and wedding anniversaries, which shows how perfect this place is for special occasions. The pricing is on the higher side, but it matches the upscale experience and beautiful setting. For dinner, we ordered the Burrata as an appetizer and the Autumn Garden for the main course, along with an American IPA and a Jack Frost cocktail. Everything was delicious, but the Burrata truly stood out as my favorite. Breakfast was equally enjoyable--we had custom-made omelettes with veggies and avocado toast, both fresh and flavorful. Overall, The Loren Hotel, along with Nido, offers a great blend of comfort, excellent food, and a beautiful atmosphere. A perfect choice if you're looking to celebrate something special or simply treat yourself to a high-end experience.

The Friday night gathering was amazing. It was a perfect setting on the eight floor to talk, mingle, and meet new people. The evening was warm enough to go outside on the balcony/deck and have conversations and enjoy a breeze. The room itself is large with a water station and a bar. A few short tables were set up for sitting and a few tall ones for standing. They had a nice selection of drinks from beer and wine to mixed drinks. The food included lobster rolls, sliders (chicken and beef), a tray of different veggies and dips, little balls of cheese and something, and aroncini? My favorite was canapés of Mellon and prosciutto. The saltiness of the prosciutto added to the flavor of the melon. This event was 5***** I blame the architect for the room setup. Why would you put bedrooms on the side of a hotel next to traffic. The noise, honking and sirens. It finally quieted down around 11:30. Saturday was also an issue. They do provide ear plugs and sound machines, neither works for me. I was also surprised there was no lotion in the room. There was no microwave. Everything else in the room was top notch. Robes, slippers, a safe, a bar, and fridge. Overall, the noise is what created the 3*** rating. That was very disappointing.

While I mostly kept to the hotel, when I did venture out, I found that there were lots of great dining options within walking distance. My only nitpick is that the Wi-Fi was unreliable, which I've seen mentioned in a few other reviews. My first night, there was an outage throughout the entire hotel. If this stay were not reimbursed, I would have removed a star considering rooms average $500 a night and reliable internet access is expected. However, I was given 2,500 bonus points after calling the front desk when I first noticed I didn't have service. We were supposed to receive nightly turn down service and got one bottle of water and two mini "moon pies" one of the three nights we were there. That was it. The "Butler Pantry" in the morning is kind of a joke. The decaf coffee was cold and the regular coffee was empty one of the three mornings. The Biscoff biscuits and apples were inadequate to qualify as anything other than a nice gesture. The restaurant was closed one of the nights for a "private party" and booked the next night, so we were not able to dine there (we were busy the third night). The accommodations were nice and the shower was great, but not worth the price we paid. We had to call room service for ice, so that was kind of a pain, but they were very quick in bringing it, so not a big deal. I would not stay here in the future.

Two double beds were comfy and plenty of towels. Our first night's stay was decent. Surprised to know they seem to use softened water because it made our skin feel slippery. I noticed the shower gel holder was falling out of the wall. A precarious situation of having to carefully pull the mechanism to dispense without pulling too hard. I did notify the night staff but the next day, it didn't seem like anyone came to fix it. No extra body wash or soap was provided even when I asked for some. The wall sockets with the en-suite appliances was not usable. The electrical outlets weren't working so we couldn't toast anything, use the kettle, or the coffee machine. Couldn't find one with a GFCI breaker to reset that side so gave up. Interestingly, the full-sized fridge and microwave were working ok though. The rod for one of the window curtains fell off while opening them. Because it's floor to ceiling we just left it alone. The common spaces around the property are well decorated, from the Library, Executive board room, kids corner, gym/yoga studio, and outdoor lounge space. Although, the snack/tea/coffee station with Keurig isn't filled maintained often. We had to ask the night staff to refill the water for tea and the lobby water dispenser was constantly low as well. On our second to last day, I found the hot water and still water station downstairs at Simona's. Pros: Clean, comfy, affordable stay. Enjoyed the bottomless drip coffee $5 and their signature Breakfast at Tiffany's latte. Also appreciated them letting us do late checkout and upgrade our room. Cons: Complimentary water station, Keurig / snack station, overall maintenance of room amenities could be handled better. Warning: If booking from 3rd party (BILT, Capital One Portal...) the added parking is not the same price that's on Colton's House's website. It's actually $40/day (with in/out privileges). However if booking directly through Colton House for stays, parking is 50% off at $20. Would we stay here again in the future? Most likely not. For an SLH property, we may look for another better-maintained option in the future.

A huge flaw is you need a key to get everywhere. You cannot go park and get to the lobby. You have to use a key to get from your room floor to the lobby. That's just weird.
