The location of Cambria Hotel is excellent. Taking the train in it's only a few blocks north on Randolph to get to the hotel. You have a Walgreens at the one corner, a Zara on the other and a Macy's on the third corner. Talk about convenience. When you enter they have security at the door and you'll take the elevator up to the 9th floor for the hotel lobby. That's also where the restaurant and bar are located. Check in was a breeze and even though I was an hour early they had my room ready. As an extra level of security you'll need a key card to get up to the guest rooms. The guest rooms are no frills but have everything you'll need for a comfortable stay. I was happy to see they had a Keurig coffee maker, a microwave and a fridge. The bathroom was a good size and the mirror was Bluetooth so you could listen to your tunes while getting ready. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. My only complaint was there was no comforter on the bed and it got a little cold at night. For the price and location Cambria can't be beat!

Well... I have to temper this outstanding review by explaining we were here for a wedding, which was incorporated into the Teatro Zinzanni show. Aside from the wedding and the show, I assume most of the staff outside of the 'tent' were Cambria Hotel staff, i.e. bar staff. Everyone we encountered was professional. The process of filing the guests upstairs via the elevator was managed flawlessly. It may or may not go without saying, but the show was outstanding. The cocktails, the dinner, the dessert, all certainly provided by the hotel, were delicious. Does the show and the wedding influence my rating? Of course they do! That said, I won't go into detail about the show other than to say if you either live in town or are visiting, it's a show that should not be missed.

First off, if you're one of these hotel customers who like to hang out in the lobby, this place isn't for you. Go to the Palmer House. I never understood why folks like to sit in the lobby, unless it is adjacent to a breakfast buffet like Hampton Inn has. BTW, lobby is on the 9th floor. They have luggage carts available when you first enter the building, so you're not lugging your baggage up the elevator. Check in was smooth, They add a $150 deposit to your credit card. Mine full deposit was returned about an hour after my check out. Before I tell you about what the room had, what it didn't have: -No place to charge your phone/laptop. Bring your own charger. -No radio or clock. -No ironing board, but it did have an iron. -No complimentary water, but it did have a Keurig with coffee. -No real view. Just the street below and the building across it. Room had a walk in shower with shampoo, body wash, conditioner. Adequate towels. Microwave oven and campus dorm style refrigerator. Desk area and a small sofa. Ice machines on every other floor. Security elevator...use your door key. Bathroom mirror had blue tooth. Silly. The room had some dusty areas, above wall pictures, lights, etc. I do a test for that. Everything else was clean. Maybe a little rust in the grout in the shower tile, no big deal for me. The bed was comfortable, the pillows were not. I got a neck crimp. TV channel selection was minimal. But the TV/remote worked well. Hotel was near a road construction zone, State and Randolph. So with every light change, someone was attempting a left turn holding up all traffic behind them, which lead to horn honking with every change of the traffic light! That went away by 6pm as the rush hour wound down. The hotel is close to the el, Michigan Av, Millennium Station and the Loop in general. The area is safe, but has the usual street people, mumbling, panhandling or sleeping on the sidewalk. Just ignore or walk over them. I walked about a mile to get back to my hotel after 9pm. Still a safe area. Yes, there are rats running down the sidewalk like any big city has. And the stench of marijuana is pretty much everywhere. The price was lower than some of the nearby hotels, so I considered $185/night a decent deal.

Neat boutique hotel with a non-traditional lobby. It's found on the ninth floor! Located in the heart of Downtown Chicago, it's the perfect location for sightseeing, shopping and good eats. It's steps from a mall, The Dearborn, the MJ Broadway production, and minutes from the ABC studios. Short walk to the Chicago Cultural Center and the famous "Bean". This place is centrally located. Was the perfect hotel for a few days of touring Chicago. The desk clerks and staff were always warm and welcoming. The bar and Cafe on the lobby floor was very spacious. They even had table games available where the lounge area was. Small marketplace for midnight munchies and snacks or if you forgot your toothbrush and floss, it's also there for sale. Security guard posted at the door, 24/7, so we felt safe coming in and out throughout our stay. It was odd not seeing the traditional first floor check in but it was fine. The hotel boasts a game room and gym. Very nice areas for both. We were in both places daily during our stay. The billiards could use more chalk and new sticks but it was fine for our entertainment. Room was spacious for four of us and the closet was big. Our room had a couch and desk area to relax. Just like every hotel though, there's never enough hooks for a party of four but thankfully, they had hooks outside the bathroom by the closet. And inside the bathroom, there was a long towel rack and under the sink storage. I would totally recommend this location.

I was very impressed by this hotel. The location in the theatre district is ideal, next to a Garrett's popcorn and across the street from the Block 37 mall. I didn't realize it was only a few blocks of Michigan Ave, and a very short walk to the Chicago river walkway. The lobby is located on the 9th floor. I arrived around 4:30pm and it was very quite. There is a bar/restaurant, grab & go food/drinks available to purchase, and seating areas located on this floor. The room was a standard room with 2 queen beds. There was a small couch, table, desk area with chair, microwave, kurig machine with coffee and tea pods, and somewhat hidden mini fridge. The room itself was much larger than I anticipated with a decent size flat-screen tv. The bathroom had plentiful counterspace, and the shower was quite large... 4 people could probably fit in the shower. The bedding was very thin and the room temperature was either cold or hot, seemingly no in-between. I get so hot sleeping at night so I did not mind that it was on the cool side. The kurig machine was not very clean and I chose not to use it. Overall, it was a great stay for the price and location. If you drive, I highly recommend pre-purchasing parking through SpotHero or Block 37 website (and then patron a business or two before/after your stay). Parking rates were $21-25 when pre-purchasing versus $45+ upon arrival.

Cambria Hotel Chicago Loop - Theatre District is a nice hotel in the Loop of Downtown Chicago. You are right next door to the James M. Neederlander Theatre - home to a ton of musical performances like Wicked. The hotel itself is nice, the hotel room is clean and there's a decent amount of amenities like a game room in the hotel, a snack bar in the lobby and a bar and restaurant on the same floor. The room view isn't really that great it's just of the street below the hotel. The building is pretty secure, you must scan your room key to get into the building and to go in any part of the elevator/floors. The price was also reasonable for downtown Chicago - I'd recommend a visit here if you want to stay somewhere in the city.

This hotel is located in the theater district in downtown Chicago. Nice room. It had a fridge and microwave. On the 2nd day there was black stuff coming out of the sink. They said all of the rooms had this same issue and should be resolved. The hallway and elevator had no a/c so it was very hot in those areas. We requested maid service to replace towels and take out trash but that was never done. It is not a horrible hotel but the price you pay for the hotel, the service should be a lot better.

This hotel was located within the loop near the river, shops, bars and restaurants. The hotel rooms are basic and small. We were fortunate to get an upgraded room with two queen beds and an amazing view out the window of the city. The window was large and clean. The beds were comfy with ample pillows. Four pillows were provided. The hotel set up is a bit awkward. Room is best for one person as lacks storage for large luggage. Plus there is not a defined bathroom. The shower is within the bedroom. Fortunately the shower was frosted but you walk right into the bedroom so you must be comfortable with those you stay with. Plus the room does really have a deck and chair to work. The desk is a fold down from the wall. The chair for the deck is located on the wall and not really suitable for long term working on sitting as does not have a back to it. The best thing above this hotel are the staff. The front desk staff are super friendly and accommodating and aim to please. The bartender was super friendly and attentive as well. Lastly parking is not available right at the hotel. You have to walk two blocks. Plus parking cost 59 dollars and that's the discounted rate. Also not really a suitable place to drop luggage off. If you pull up to the front door, you are blocking traffic. Base on price of 400 dollars the night we stayed, I would say it's not worth the stay. Maybe it's worth 200 or less for Chicago.

I want to say that I have had my eye on this hotel for a while now after looking for Hilton hotel locations with a peloton bike, which this one has. Other than that, I loved that the location of this hotel sits in the heart of Chicago, surrounding a plethora of activities which made it the perfect choice for hotel stay to celebrate. Okay, it was an experience going up to the lobby area to check in at this hotel, a blonde moment as I am known for if you follow my reviews. The lobby is located on the 4th floor, so be sure to choose "L" for the lobby because there is no 4th floor button listed in the elevator. Me and two other hotel guests had an adventure going up to the lobby area after trying to figure out where the 4th floor button was. My experience with the receptionist working behind the desk was nothing less than professional. Since my room was already booked through Hilton Honors, the only thing check-in consisted of was a verification of my information, a briefing on what is offered, and the receptionist giving me my room key. For your information, check-in starts at 4:00 PM and check-out ends at 12:00 PM! If you have the Hilton honors application, there is the opportunity to check in with the application, choosing your room, and receiving a digital key, which will allow you to go to your room contactless without seeing a receptionist upon your arrival. I have not used this method, but if you are interested in no contact whatsoever then you can use it with the Hilton Honors application. After locating and entering my room, I thought to myself this is fancy once I took notice of the design and interior color which appeared so elegant! There was a variation of vibrant colors in the room from its curtains to the headboard of the king-size bed, the carpet, and a gold chair that looked like something out of your grandmother's house. Out of all, I just could not take my eyes off the curtains which reminded me of cherry blossoms because of the colors. Inside the bathroom there were liquid products by Gilchrist & Soames Zero% attached to the wall. Throughout my travels, I have noticed that hotels have completely dealt away with the mini shampoo, bath soap, and conditioner products that made great travel hygiene additions. Along with those notable things inside of the room, it met my cleanliness standards. I had no issues whatsoever getting comfortable in the king-sized bed during my stay as my head was engulfed in between the comfortable pillows. While utilizing the shower, I really enjoyed the water pressure; its soothing pressure made me feel very cleansed during each usage. It was wonderful toggling with the spray patterns, with the addictive feel of the pressure hitting my face and body. Other things the room came with that I noticed were a comforter, an iron, ironing board, blow dryer, safe, comforter, a coffee maker (Hamilton Beach), a mini refrigerator, microwave, and USB and AC plugins attached to either the headboard of the bed, lamps, or the television cabinet, which added a nice touch to the room. And the Wi-Fi internet was easy to connect to and not once did I have any connectivity issues with it during my stay. Hampton Inn Majestic, as expected, had an exceptionally beautiful inner interior! As a fitness enthusiast, it was great having a fitness center onsite because it allowed me to keep up with my fitness routines during my stay. I must say that I was pleased to see several dumbbell weights, medicine balls, kettlebells, a decent selection of workout machines, and two peloton fitness bikes which charmed me out of my panties once I spotted them. And oh, honey did I enjoy it on my birthday with the lovely Hannah Frankson as my peloton instructor, who put my legs through torture during her low impact workout. Having the complimentary breakfast was a relief because I did not have to worry about finding a restaurant for breakfast in the morning. And I was highly satisfied with the quality of what was presented. It is served daily from 6:00 AM - 10:00 AM. For you all visiting the city of Chicago, there are plentiful sights, activities, and restaurants within a radius of Hampton Inn Majestic. As a resident, a few that I adore are Willis Tower, Millennium Park, and the Art Institute of Chicago! Next door is the CIBC Theatre, which I noticed upon my initial arrival at the hotel. And if you are looking to explore the city or outer part of the city, the Chicago Union Station, and CTA Train Station are very accessible to-and-from. I would surely book Hampton Inn Majestic Chicago Theatre District again due to my experience with it because the hotel met my comfort needs, and I loved that its location is within an accessible distance of things of interest in downtown Chicago. ~ Live every moment ~ Thomas G
