A view from the hotel front yard towards the ocean across the street

Location, location, location I love that they bring a basket of goodies that they call breakfast in the morning. Both days it was a piece of fruit or two and two slices of warm bread one with banana bread and one was maybe a pumpkin bread. You can also get a warm brownie or a warm cookie at night and the first night they gave us a voucher for two free glasses of wine The rooms are very clean. We had a lovely view in room 15.

Cambrian Shores Inn has been my home away from home for any Central Coast vacation or long weekend! There are so many things to mention, it's difficult to be succinct. From the Dog friendly surroundings to the gift basket providing a " Welcome Home" collection of treats, snuggle blanket and a throw for the bed so your four-legged companions are made to feel a part of the family. Don't forget fresh backed treats in the morning deliver right to your food every mornings & warm cookies in the afternoon in the stunning open space in the Inns main house with the beautiful Pacific just inches away! Sink into one of the relaxing Adirondack chairs thoughtfully placed around the Inn's property for your relaxation and Ocean and sunset Viewing pleasure. Wine glasses available for those who want to savor bottles of vine-ripened gold from your travels to world famous Vintners (many only a few minutes drive from the Inn). Restaurant row (after row) take your pick: Bbq, raw bar, seafood caught & delivered to the local establishments -- any fresher, you would have to catch it yourself!, steaks, Pizza or Mexican & Margaritas! Shopping destinations around every corner with art & other original pieces all over down town. You won't regret your decision to spend some hard earned R&R in Cambria and at the Cambria Shores Inn.

It's such a unique place that many people return every year. The cookies are delicious, the room is clean, and the breakfast delivery is very convenient. We could hear the ocean waves from our room--so amazing! If you like old movies, they have a full deck to rent for free to be played on your room's DVD.

It was wonderful! We were there November 2024. Best place We have ever stayed when in Cambria. This was a birthday trip for me. From the breakfast baskets in the morning to the wine and food in the evening... The food was wonderful! This place is great.. The rooms are very cozy and clean. They do allow dogs. Moonstone Beach and boardwalk are across the road. The Manager was very personable and the staff very nice and helpful. I can't say enough.. You'll love it! We will be back. Thank you Cambria Shores Inn!

Such a cute, quiet lovely place to stay. Across from the beach and they bring a cute little basket with breakfast. If you're looking for a small get away, this place is perfect to clear your mind. Really enjoyed my stay.

We love Cambria shore Inn. The people are nice and so dog friendly. The rooms and amenities are very nice. The sunset views from the lawn area and wine bar are awesome.

Cambria Shores Inn - Room 22, bedroom looking towards door & window

I had a lovely stay at Cambria Shores Inn, which is located on Moonstone Beach Drive which runs along the coast. Complimentary wine vouchers at Madeline's on Moonstone were offered when we checked in, which we did not use. There is easy access to the boardwalk for an easy stroll along the coast. The boardwalk is wheelchair accessible and there are benches along the way.The hotel property is well taken care of. I always saw staff tending to the grounds from morning to evening. This is a dog friendly hotel. There was never any dog poop on the grounds ; people cleaned up after their dogs. The hotel staff is friendly and helpful. When we checked out, they made a point of telling us that there was no rush to leave the property; they said we could stay and enjoy the outdoor patio area or go take a walk along the boardwalk. I stayed in Room 22 which had a small patio in the back (access through door past the bathroom sink area). Despite not being a private patio, it's still a nice area to let your little dogs enjoy being outside without keeping them leashed. There are chairs on the patio. You can see a tiny bit of the ocean from the patio, however you will have much better views from the common outdoor patio by the parking lot. So getting a patio room is not a must have. The nice thing about Room 22 is that there is a low "wall" in front of the room. This. helps block car headlights from shining into your bedroom window when they park in the space directly outside the room. During our stay, we saw one guest park their vehicle in the "no parking" zone at the left corner of the parking lot, despite it being clearly marked as "no parking". This "no parking" zone is at both left & right corners of the parking lot. This risks getting blocked in when other cars park in the valid parking spots to the left & right of this "no parking" zone. The bedroom had relaxed decor, with a fireplace for ambiance (it did not give off much heat). There is a DVD player in the room. There is a good selection of DVDs in the lobby which you can borrow to watch in your room. The king bed and pillows were comfortable. I loved the overhead reading light which you can adjust. The bathroom sink area has plenty of counter space, plus a microwave & fridge for your convenience. It's also furnished with mugs, cups, plates, utensils, cloth napkins, cutting board, wine opener, and coffee maker. The bathroom is very spacious with a large deep tub and a large shower with rain shower head. I wish there was a way to adjust the water output on the shower head; I would have liked a bit more intensity from the shower head. The bathroom door had a sliding pocket door with no lock; full length mirror is on the pocket door. There is a hook outside each room where they hang a breakfast basket in the morning. The basket contains pastries from a local bakery, string cheese, fruit, and orange juice. There are also plates, utensils and cloth napkins. It's a charming way to start the day. Eat in room or outside if the weather is nice. The contents of our Breakfast Basket were exactly the same on both mornings. In the afternoon, you will find warm oatmeal raisin cookies and warm brownies at the lobby. Coffee & tea are available at the lobby all day. There is wine tasting at Madeline's on Moonstone, directly in front of the lobby; there is a deck facing the ocean where you can enjoy your wine (or take it to the outdoor common patio area in the parking lot). The hotel is close to "downtown" Cambria where you'll find shops and restaurants. It's divided into West Village and East Village, so make sure to stop by both ends of downtown. Parking is easy to find. We had a lovely dinner at Madeline's Restaurant. They offer a 10% discount when you're a hotel guest. Unfortunately, we forgot to mention this to them while we were there. .

Perfect little cozy hotel in Cambria. My family and I stayed for one night this past summer and it was perfect. Moonstone Beach was directly across the street from us and a minutes walk away~perfect location for the kids/adults to go stone hunting. Its also a short drive away from the elephant seal viewing point. Check in and check out process was super easy--they also have fresh brownies and cookies during certain times (doggie snacks too). All the rooms are on the first floor, so no stair climbing. Parking is directly in front of the rooms. Lawn chairs are also available at the front of the hotel for people who want to watch the sunset. Our room was decently clean, didn't find stay hair or bedbugs. Absolute favorite parts of my stay were the fireplace (sat there cozily most of the night and next morning) and the morning breakfast basket. They also gave us wine vouchers for the restaurant on site...which I didn't use..but it was a nice gesture. We happened to book during the summer rush so one night was ~$450 ish after everything. If you go during slower times, I think the pricing would likely be more reasonable.

This review is way overdue. Hubby and I visited Cambria last December for the Christmas Market, and stayed here for two nights. We loved everything about our stay with a room with a view of the ocean, and beautiful property. Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Complimentary wine on their wine deck was a nice surprise! We enjoyed our drinks while watching the sunset the first evening. The next morning we woke up to a basket hanging outside of our door with breakfast! We booked our stay here for next month to celebrate my birthday and our anniversary! I can't wait!

We really enjoyed our stay here at this cozy hotel right across the street from the beach. The people were endlessly friendly and accommodating. Tea and coffee was available in the office pretty much all day. The room was clean and recently renovated with a nice array of small touches, like a soft closing toilet seat, a fireplace, and double window shades on most windows. There was a coffee maker, fridge, and microwave in the room, as well as a small assortment of dishware. A breakfast basket was delivered in the morning with juice, fruit, and delicious pastries. We would be happy to stay here next time we visit Cambria.

Love this little inn! What a special place to spend our anniversary and Valentine's Day. We loved it so much we extended our stay. The rooms are very well insulated and quiet and all have a beach view. We didn't hear a thing from the other rooms or any road noise which is an issue with the other hotels on Moonstone Beach. The staff were friendly, smiling and Scott was always happy and had a twinkle in his eye and was ready to help. We were offered free wine coupons upon check in at Madeline's wine bar which is attached to the hotel. Free coffee, cookies and brownies were a welcome treat! The inn is very dog friendly and we enjoyed seeing all the well-behaved dogs. Many couples we spoke to had been coming back for 15-20 years and we can see why. We will be back next year!

Can I bring my dog to Madelyn's on site at the inn? I have read the inn is dog friendly but how about the restaurant?

Yes, I saw people with their dogs on the outside patio drinking wine. It's a small place overall so if your dog is well behaved then it shouldnt be a problem. My three dogs bark at other dogs, beg for food, and/or want to sit on your lap so we… Read more

We enjoyed our stay and all the front desk employees were extremely polite, helpful and accommodating. The room was very clean. The fireplace is easy to use and extremely effective. However, I would like to make a few suggestions on how to improve the experience of staying at Moonstone Landing for all your guests: First, please provide your guests with 3-ply, SOFT toilet paper. The cheap, one-ply toilet paper this hotel uses was horrible to use. If you're asking guests to pay premium prices for these rooms then at least provide them with decent toilet paper. Second, please consider investing in NEW, comfortable outdoor patio chairs with accompanying foot rests. The chairs you have now feel cheap and uncomfortable. Third, I would jazz up the "average" continental breakfast. It's the one thing hungry guests look forward to every morning and the pastries provided leave one underwhelmed and still hungry. Linn's cheese danish pastries are delicious but the other two muffins were "meh". The boiled eggs are fine. I think adding a variety of cereals would be appreciated. Maybe provide granola bars? Fourth, I know renovations are costly. But at some point you'll have to redo the stone flooring in all the bathrooms as the long cracks in the stone initially make a bad impression. Again, we enjoyed our stay and I would recommend this hotel. As a long-time patron, I'm offering my insights in the hopes you'll make the necessary changes to stay competitive and continue to draw in new guests.

I selected this hotel due to its close proximity to Moonstone Beach and the fact it is one of the few hotels in Cambria with air conditioning. We arrived to the hotel with a parking lot on the side of the hotel and a parking garage underneath. We arrived to a smallish lobby area and we checked in easily. I was happy with the appearance of the room as the decor was nice. It had a ceiling fan and a fireplace and I really liked the orange travertine tile in the bathroom. I was happy this place had A/C but I have to mention that this was the most lame installation I have even seen. The thermostat was directly across from the A/C vents in just a matter of feet so it gave the wrong impression regarding the room temperature. This was not an issue in the room with the double queen. The hotel is not staffed 24/7 so be aware for early or late check in and check out. Housekeeping does not clean the rooms during your stay so you will need to request extra towels or coffee pods as needed. They do serve a free continental breakfast but the offerings are slim. We went for a walk as the Moonstone Beach boardwalk entrance is right next to the hotel. The boardwalk was cool as it was surrounded by plants and trees on both sides on the way to the beach. I really loved the appearance of the shower here; however, the water pressure was so low that I thought it would run out of water with soap still on my body. It also took an absurd amount of time for the water temperature to change after adjusting the knob. I will say that the towels here were memorable as the fabric was very nice.
