It's very difficult to find a chic headband. The upstairs holds fun little knicknacks and sale items. For example, they have an Oscar Wilde action figure and an ashtray keychain. It's very eclectic. Vintage clothes, books, egg timers... It's random. I bought a Chinese brush painting set once. The store is connected to the Wooly Lamb. i really wanted to support this local business, but unfortunately this experience left a bad taste…read morein my mouth. i've purchased items from leveled up before and have never had an issue or needed to exchange anything, so this was pretty disappointing. a few weeks ago, i bought a hat while i was in a bit of a rush and didn't realize until i got home that it was a trucker-style hat instead of a baseball-style hat, which i much prefer. since they don't offer refunds, i figured i'd just exchange it for store credit. my first attempt was a waste of time because i drove all the way to east aurora only to find the store closed, even though both the website and the hours posted on the door said they should've been open. the second time i went back they were open. i brought the hat back exactly as i bought it. i never wore it, never even tried it on, still had all the tags attached, and had kept it in the original bag in my home while waiting to exchange it. the employee helping me immediately started inspected the hat intensely and pointed out what she said was a makeup stain and told me they couldn't take back merchandise that had been worn. i was honestly caught off guard because i know for a fact i never wore or even tried on the hat. it came across as pretty accusatory, especially when she said they don't even put merchandise out with stains on it. did it ever occur to anyone that another customer could've tried the hat on before i bought it? after inspecting the hat for what felt like an unnecessary amount of time, she finally agreed to give me store credit, but only as a "one-time exception." i appreciate that i was ultimately able to exchange it, but the way the situation was handled made me feel like i was being accused of something i didn't do. i guess it really will be a one-time credit because after the way i was treated over a stain that was there before i even bought the hat, i don't see myself coming back.

Riley answered the phone and gave me a quick review of what they had in store and made me realize I better stop in. When I got there, she helped me find the perfect pair. Although they were a half size bigger than what I would have ordered and a different color than I had in mind, they ended up being the perfect Sorel wedge sandal and now I'm obsessed. I also was able to use my 30% off bday coupon, which you can use pretty much everything (excludes Birkenstock and another prestige brand I can't think of). What a great deal! Riley also told me I could "double dip" and head over to Sunshine and Bluebirds (right next door). That's where I found more of the Teleties hair clips. These are so great because they lay flat, which omits the uncomfortable feeling of driving with a clip on the back of your head. Brittany who was working at the store, was beyond friendly and easy to talk to. The customer service alone makes me want to go back to both Research and Design & Sunshine and Bluebirds. My mom had already gone in with a friend a week prior, and Monroe helped her into DOZENS of dresses that were suited to my mom - and getting her into any dress is hard...the owner is just so good with people! My mom is not a girly woman at all, and she rarely wears dresses or anything like this, but Monroe quickly figured out my mom's preferences and showed her dresses that really flattered her figure.
