fish & chip + krab cake
    Thien H.

3.5 rounded up to 4. It's alright. Is the food on par with typical fish and chip places in England? No, but the pub decor is nice. I like the mini wooden barrels that the condiments and the napkins and silverware are placed in. I'm not sure why people were raving about the krab cake. It's imitation krab. It's not good or worth the stomach space in my opinion. I wasn't paying attention when my partner suggested we order it. I would rather the two pieces of fish combo in the future. The fish they use is okay. The fried sausage was a deep fried sausage. Not the tastiest sausage but the friedness was novel. The fries are solid. Slightly thick, a bit soft, but still crispy on the edges. Everything was freshly fried and served hot. The batter they use for the fish is different than the onion rings. I thought that the onion rings would use a wet beer batter on them but they were breaded, like bread crumb breaded. My favorite item was the fried mars bar for dessert. The beer that was recommended to me was half Guinness and half cider and it was refreshing to drink. They need to re-write the sign by the door. About 1/3 of the people get confused. One of the servers gets mad at people who wait politely by the door especially when the restaurant is full because they don't know whether to wait to get seated or to go all the way to the bar to ask for a seat and order. Instead of welcoming customers and letting them know that they'll be next to get seated or if there are people in front of them, she sternly said something like "You need to go to the front to order first before you can get a table." Well, that's kind of out of the norm and what is the front? The front door? Or is it the back of the restaurant near the bar? She meant the bar. Luckily we had a different server and she was nice.

I can't believe this was my first time at Camelot and not my last! I went on a Friday at around 1:30pm it was packed and we got the last table. Then a larger line built, wow I got a root beer on tap! It was refreshing and I got the Camelot special with everything in it. Yummy oysters, big chuck of fish, loved the shrimps. I usually like skinny fries but these were different, it had a nice creamy baked potato texture in the middle, which liked. It was perfect fried basket of goodness.

I remember coming here with my family when I was younger and it was not how I remember it. $54 for 2 combinations, which contained 1 fish, 1 crab cake, and fries. The fish was okay but the batter on the fish was bland and not as crispy as it used to be, even slightly falling off. The fries are unsalted and very dry. Of course everything is fried but everything was quite heavy/ full of oil. You order at the register and it's then delivered to your table. The place is quite small and I noticed some waiting for tables. This place has been here for forever but in my opinion there are other more affordable and tastier fish and chip spots.

Came in for dinner last night while staying in Pacifica. It's a teeny tiny little pub and it filled up really quick shortly after we got there. The service was good- order/pay at the counter and they bring it out to you when ready. I ordered fish and chips and fried clams and all of it was great! The fish was crispy on the outside and tender and flaky on the inside. I really enjoyed the fries also, nice crisp on the outside and fluffy inside.

Real chicken. Good chicken and chips.

This place is fantastic. My husband and I love it. It's as close to my husband's home in Ireland as we can get in California. I actually don't like fish, so I appreciate the option for chicken strips! And they're exactly the kind I like. Flat, breaded, normal, not fake chicken, and crispy with a little bit of salt! Fabulous. Please never change the chicken or the chips!! I love the chips, especially the little crispy ones. We got takeaway and it was fast, hot, well-packaged, and yummy! My husband loved the fish & chips with salt & vinegar. Worth every penny.

Such a cute spot, nice pub with date night lighting. Really enjoyed the fish it was hot and crispy, the fries were solid, but the fish was the star here.

Camelot is a classic English-style restaurant with a very small, cozy interior -- about eight small tables and two bar seats. The atmosphere and decor are great and really sell the pub feel. You order at the counter and then sit, which works well given how busy it gets. A lot of people call in orders, and the place fills up quickly, but the food comes out fast and people tend to rotate through at a steady pace. It's a very simple menu with about seven protein choices, all done in the same classic fish-and-chips style, which keeps things easy and efficient. They do a proper Guinness pour, along with a few other solid beer options. The fish is Icelandic pollock -- not local, which I was hoping for -- but it is the traditional English pub choice. It's wild-caught, sustainable, and honestly a good quality fish even if it's not local.

    Amazing chips!!! The best ever!!

How can I say this.... Camelot fish and chips in Pacifica has been a staple in my life forever! The food is always fresh and perfectly crisp where it needs to be!! I always recommend the customers at my work and even tourist to stop by and try this perfect hole in the wall spot! It's always the best and I can't ever get enough!! Love this spot ten stars across the board! The staff is super friendly and fast at their job! Can't thank them enough for always doing an amazing job ten stars as well!!

Do one thing and excel at it. Exactly what is going on here. Firstly the pieces of cod are huge ! About the size of a palm . So order accordingly to hunger level. Crispy tender fish and perfectly fried chips. Paired with a pint of Guinness and we are home free. Service is friendly and efficient. Ambiance is British pub. If you sit outside wear proper clothing. Pacifica in the winter is chilly . JYW highly recommends

Visit 7/4/2025 at 1:30pm Overall rating for fish and chips: 3.25 stars Camelot Fish & Chips has been on my list of spots for fish and chips! Place is small and only has 6 tables with a few window seating. So if plan on dining in, put your name on the wait list and expect a 10-15min wait during peak hours. No outdoor seating. I opted to take my order to go and graze in my car as I was taking a short break from visiting a relative at the rehab center nearby. If your first time, order/pay at the counter and wait outside for about 10 mins. Someone will come out and let you know when ready. Fish (pollock) was flaky, cooked perfectly with a light, crunchy exterior I expect from a delicious fish and chips. Sadly, the "chips" or fries were oddly DRY, spongy with no crisp at all. It wasn't due to take out as I dug into those fries while hot. Reheating them later would just make them drier...and I rarely leave a potato behind. Will definitely try them again as they have clam strips and fried mushrooms that I would get next time. Possibly the dry fries was just a bad day...Limited bottled beer and deep-fried Twinkies and Mars bar available Staff friendly and efficient. Pricing for 2pc fish and chips: $21 incl tax. Plenty of street and lot parking across the street

Delightful experience visiting Camelot! =D The vibe here is casual and friendly. You feel like you've stepped into a fish & chips joint in London upon entering. You go up to the counter to order your food, which they then deliver to your table. The fish & chip is yummy here with the usual fix'ns (vinegar, tartar sauce). In addition to the quality of the food, I appreciate the flexibility offered here: you can specify the # of fish pieces you want, and whether you'd want chips with your fish, onion rings, sweet potato fries, etc. I opted for fish + sweet potato fries, and the staff member essentially order a 2-piece side of fish + a sweet potato fries side for me, which was perfect! They have Guinness on tap here. Were we not going on a hike after, I would've gotten it. Next time!

I forgot to take pics of the food because it was eaten so quickly- that should tell you how much I enjoyed Camelot! We ordered a plethora of fried seafood including the fish and shrimp as well as the chicken tenders, mushrooms, and a side order of sweet potato fries in addition to the regular fries. The food came out in about 10 minutes and the young guy who took our order was super friendly and hooked us up with all kinds of condiments to-go! I thought the fish here was a huge win! Well fried and seasoned with a super thin batter. I wasn't a huge fan of the thick cut British style fries, but I know that is the traditional way and the menu did warn of that! The shrimp was great and chicken tenders are a huge portion. I thought the pricing was competitive to other places in the area as well. If you choose to eat in, you'll enjoy the fun British decor and classic pub vibes. Be sure to check it out!

A strong contender for the title of "Best Fish and Chips in the Bay". I came 30 minutes before closing to see if I could grab a table to quickly eat but we were not rushed, in fact it was still busy up until closing. It's warm and cozy inside with the all the UK/Irish decor and lights. We ordered onion rings, a tall lager, and a Camelot combo (oysters, shrimp, 1pc fish, and chips). The onion rings were tasty but the breading was kind of thick. The seafood was great. But the highlight was definitely the fish. While everything else is panko breaded, the batter on the fish is crispy and airy, with the fish itself being fresh and flaky. Chips are also made British style, not the same as fries! Wash everything down with a cold beer and you're set.

Highly y recommending you book beforehand as the place fills up fast. Once you booked, you pre-pay for everything and just come and enjoy your tea on the day of. This place is so cute! It's located near Rockaway beach, a nice area in Pacifica. There are ample parkings in the back of the store. From outside vibes to the indoor decorations with all the tea sets and cute little tables and small mirrors and trinkets on the walls. It reminded me of Bridgeton and Victoria time. I could spend an entire afternoon here looking at all the cute tea set. Because we had our puppy with us, we opted for an outdoor seating which was equally as nice! Large white-and-yellow-striped umbrellas gave us some needed shades as it was a sunny day. Our table was covered with cute table cloth and everything looks neat and clean. We were started with teas first, and each of us got to pick our own tea. My sis picked the Lychee Rose Green as I had my eyes on the Dragon well. Our teas came out fast and were quickly followed by the yummy high tea display. Starting from the bottom, we had Cucumber with Dill Cream Cheese Chicken, Apple, Walnut, Cranberry Salad Cream Cheese with Guava Jam, Pastrami with Cabbage Salad. This was followed by a warm Scone with Clotted Cream & Jam; a toasted Crumpet with butter & Lemon Curd; and a selection from their Sweet Tray! Everything was so delicious and paired so well with our selections of teas! The service was attentive as well as they checked on us frequently and refilled our tea pots when needed. We had a wonderful time here, slowing down and enjoying the smaller things in life :)

Maybe we expected more since we really enjoyed Lovejoy's the last couple times we went there (I believe they share the same owner, but I may be mistaken). While we give the buttery and fragrant scones very high marks, and the salad and the crumpets were ok, the sandwiches and desserts were not great. The bread was dry and the filling was skimpy compared to many other high teas we have tried, and the petit fours were plain and seemed store-bought. The crumpets came after the desserts because they forgot to serve them to us (not a big deal and they were very apologetic). For the price, we expected more than one tiny item from the dessert tray. The teas were all lovely, but they were out of their Pacifica Blue tea which we were specifically looking forward to trying. This is the 12th tea service we have tried in the past couple years, and we find that we prefer teas that include an assortment of more deluxe dessert items (like SIP or Rotunda in SF), and sandwiches that are made with a variety of breads such as rolls or mini croissants along with the traditional sliced bread, and with more generous filling.

I'm currently living in San Francisco for six weeks while caring for my father, who is recovering from a double lung transplant at UCSF. It's been an emotionally exhausting time, and I was excited to find a neighborhood bar within walking distance where I could occasionally relax and decompress. I first discovered this bar after a trip to Trader Joe's. During that visit, the bartenders, especially Chris, and the rest of the staff were welcoming, friendly, attentive, and wonderful. Based on that experience, I was looking forward to returning. Unfortunately, my interactions with the owner have been the complete opposite. On my second visit, the owner repeatedly ignored me while I was trying to order. When he noticed my service dog, who was leashed, quietly sitting beside me, and causing absolutely no disruption, he loudly yelled across a crowded bar, "Get your dog out of here." I calmly explained that he is a service dog. The owner immediately rolled his eyes and demanded to know what service my dog provides. Because I did not feel comfortable disclosing personal medical information to a room full of strangers, I asked if I could privately show documentation instead. He became increasingly hostile, telling me that he "knew his rights" and that I "didn't know anything," while continuing to demand an explanation. Feeling embarrassed and cornered, I reluctantly answered his question. He rolled his eyes again and asked, "What do you want?" When I ordered a Corona, he responded by pointing his finger in my face and saying, "You mean you want a Corona PLEASE." He refused to serve me unless I repeated the order exactly as he demanded. I was shocked, humiliated, and left the bar in tears. Several patrons nearby apologized to me and expressed how uncomfortable they were witnessing the interaction. A few days later, I decided to give the bar a second chance and brought my partner with me. My partner was seated with my service dog while I walked to the bar to order. The owner immediately recognized me and once again said, "Get your dog out." I calmly reminded him that we had already had this conversation and that I had previously explained my dog's service role. He responded by asking whether I was providing a service to the dog or whether the dog was providing a service to me. After I again explained the situation, he asked what I wanted to order. I ordered two dirty gin martinis, and before I could even finish speaking, he began walking away. When he returned with the check, I asked him to keep the tab open. He again corrected me and said I needed to say, "Keep it open PLEASE." At that point, I asked why he seemed to treat me this way every time I came in. His response was, "Piss off. Finish your martini and you're never allowed back here again. Get out." Once again, I left in tears. Once again, nearby patrons appeared shocked by the way I was being treated. I've worked in professional environments my entire career and strive to treat everyone with kindness, patience, and respect. I was never rude, disruptive, or confrontational. I simply wanted to enjoy a drink at a neighborhood bar while accompanied by my service dog. The bartenders and staff were wonderful. My experience with the owner, however, was one of the most humiliating and hostile customer service experiences I have ever had.

My family is Welsh - and much of my family currently lives in Wales and England. Having grown up visiting the UK every summer - I grew up with clotted cream and scones, Horlicks, sausage rolls, Walkers crisps, Hot Cross Buns, Galaxy Chocolate, chutney, fruitcake, Ribena, Jaffa Cakes, tea and biscuits, and much more. This store has all of that and much more! The staff member working when I popped in - was exceptionally kind and was there to answer any questions I had in regards to their beautifully curated selection of products from Scotland, Wales, England etc. Truthfully I wanted to buy everything and I wish that my mom and sister could have been with me to explore this magical shop. I know that they would have appreciated the well curated store and the good vibes throughout it. I ended up buying a fantastic Pendleton picnic blanket (perfect for GG Park ) and a bag of Jelly Babies sweets. Later - after checking out their facebook page - https://www.facebook.com/willowonthegreen/ - I was thrilled to see that they regularly post about new product additions to the store and they often host unique cheese tastings throughout the week. They have even collaborated with Arizemendi bakery - doing Fondue tastings - using Arizmendi's exceptional bread. Willows on the Green is amazing. It was evident in my brief time in the store - that they're truly invested in being part of the Inner Sunset community. They enjoy supporting other local businesses in the area - and they're excited about sharing the excellent aspects of British culture/food with the San Francisco community. Thank you! Trust.

The Cavailier was our side-trip to the UK after a day at the SFMOMA. It went better than we…read moreexpected, this was elevated and subtle. The location is central and the decor richly celebrates British rustic public houses, with the bar seating feeling more cosmopolitan. The staff are friendly and enthusiastic about their food. They were a joy. We started off with the Deviled Eggs, deeply flavorful and a great way to dive in. The Duck Scotch Egg was beautiful done, complete with firm white and runny yolk. Ducky. The surprise star of the evening, the Mushroom Tart is earthy, so full of mushroom umami sitting atop flaky pastry. Perfectly executed!! The Fish and Chips were very good, the fish fish and the flavor deep. Very good. The Panna Cotta and Delice desserts made it clear that sweets aren't an afterthought. People *thought* about how to do these right. Much joy, no regrets. A good time, great ambiançe and staff, will do again!

TLDR: After too long a hiatus, I finally had a chance to…read morereturn and try a variety of items that were all new to me. The food was even better than last time. The Cavalier is a hidden gem in SF and more people need to know about it! ------ FOOD: 1. [MUST TRY] BRICK CHICKEN (5/5) Some of the most tender chicken ever 2. [MUST TRY] RISOTTO (5/5) I don't usually gravitate toward risotto but this was excellent and rich, with the perfect risotto texture 3. SALMON (5/5) Buttery, melt-in-your-mouth with great flavor 4. BEEF TARTAR CROSTINIS (5/5) Far exceeded expectations - super crispy crostinis with flavorful tartar 5. SMOKED DEVILED EGGS (5/5) Their deviled eggs are always excellent 6. TRUFFLE PARM FRIES (4.5/5) Had a great crisp and wonderful flavor. Not as crispy as the twice-battered fries I had at Cavalier last time but excellent in a different way 7. CHEESY BAKED POTATO (4/5) Very cheesy 8. PEANUT BUTTER CHOCOLATE TRUFFLE (4/5) So rich, so delicious 9. CHOCOLATE DELICE (4/5) Like a slightly lighter, scoop-able chocolate fudge ------ ENVIRONMENT / AMBIANCE: * No change from last time. The Cavelier really leans into the theme of elevated English dining, and they do an especially great job making the establishment festive and cozy for the holidays * There are multiple different areas of the restaurant, from the bar area to the main dining room to two side rooms. ------ SERVICE: * Everyone is as lovely and as sweet as I remembered

It would be 5 stars if not for the crummiest cheesecake I've ever been served. It took me 40 years…read morebut I finally had my Ratatouille moment and it was right here. This meal was consumed at home on St. Patrick's Day. Delivery always robs you of a restaurant's true experience but despite ~50% of my genes being Irish, I have absolutely no tolerance for drunk people. My husband ordered the corned beef & hash because he's obsessed with the "tradition" aspect of food. I swear to god it's the only reason we tried this place. He could be on the road in the middle of the Mojave with a trunk full of perfectly ready-to-eat food, and he'll starve his ass to death if it happens to be St. Patrick's Day unless somehow a corned beef & hash food truck materializes in the desert. It's positively infantile. My Ratatouille moment was with the beef stew. The last time I had a proper beef stew was probably more than 25 years ago. My mom made my grandma's recipe when I was a kid. My husband, bless his heart, has erroneously claimed for 20 years, with minimal pushback from me because I'm polite, that there is no good stew. "It's a terrible dish with dried out meat bathing in oversalted broth!" He changed his mind when had the stew from Napper Tandy. Now the cheesecake? The cheesecake was an absolute joke and it wasn't even particularly great. It was very average but when you factor in the value, it becomes terrible. Maybe I got the last slice from an oversliced cheesecake but $6 for a sliver, and I do mean sliver--at the crust's edge my cheesecake was no wider than 2". You guys can buy a whole cheesecake from Atlanta Cheesecake Co. that's 32 Oz. for $12. You charge $6 per slice. Stay with me here. You can give customers a nice fat ol' piece of cheesecake from the delectible Atlanta Cheesecake Co. that actually makes it seem like they're getting their money's worth, it will taste amazing, and you can still charge $6 per slice. That's a 300% profit!
