The dress I chose was not listed in their lookbook - it was actually one that Rebecca pulled for me to try based on my vision and preferences. I quite literally could not have found my dress without her! It completely embodies my style and I can't wait to wear it on my wedding day. Growing up in Seattle, Luly Yang was the first place we went to try on dresses. I was a bit nervous as I usually have a hard time finding dresses that fit perfectly and my mom is super judgmental. Meg and Stephanie greeted us and were so nice and welcoming. We tried on a few dresses and they really set the bar in regards to the fit, material and customer service. We had a few other appointments already set for the week, so I wanted to wait to see those appointments through before deciding and they were so understanding. (We had other studios who really tried to pressure us to purchase day of-even offering discounts). Another plus was there was no fitting fee to try on the dresses - unlike all the other studios we went to. We did end up coming back and getting my dress at Luly Yang. I dropped them off and the lady, perhaps Elsta, was kind. She took my info and told me I should hear back in 5 days and took down my info. She did warn me that if I did not hear back, to call. I understand it gets busy here, the rack when you walk in is loaded with clothes and another with dresses. I came back in a week later as I got busy and was close by coming off work and it was not ready. The lady was very apologetic and told me it would be ready the following day. Sure, enough I got a text the following afternoon to come pick up. The pants were nicely and tightly rebuttoned. Only cost $11 which is less than I expected. So, if I inevitably have to bring more buttons to be sewn or zippers to be repairs, I'll come back.

All of their dresses were lovely but they only had what felt like a few simple but lovely elegant to choose from which is what I was looking for When I landed on the dress that I liked the most (out of the ones that I wanted to try on) I suddenly felt very pressured to purchase it by my fitter. In hindsight it was the wrong dress and I should have been at least encouraged to think on it and come back for such a big purchase but was not. I ended up buying the dress and was pushed to buy a veil without being told it was $500! (Until i was handed the bill). It unfortunately continues, as most of those buying a wedding dress, this was my first time. I had tried many things on but only ordered once. I trusted my fitter and she asked if I wanted it "a little" smaller or "a little bigger" I obviously went with a little bigger only to receive a dress that was HUGE. I later found out that most places order to your largest size and don't take into account the style of dress you picked and you just have to trust the stylist to help advise. I have a small chest and waist but wide hips and if I chose a form fitting dress my largest size would be needed but I chose a ballgown. So I took home a dress that could absolutely not be worn and had to be fitted so much that the top hardly resembles what I bought. Looking back the vibe was great and the people were nice but it was missing the guidance and support that I think is needed for wedding dress shopping. You typically only do it once or twice and it is made such a large deal there should be space to think about things and also know what is being organized.

I bought my dress at Nordstrom sample sale a size too small (I'm a 4 the dress was a 2). However, their quote was DOUBLE the price of the dress which defeated the purpose of buying it at the sample sale. After doing a bit of research I found and reached out to Zeita studios and after our first consultation I was quoted almost 50% LESS THAN Nordstrom!! I said yes and never looked back. Not only did Sarah Mosher do it for less but she had an even better idea that did not damage the dress. She was super flexible and I ended having my mom and fiancé go get their alterations done there as well! Zeita even offers a service where you can have your pictures taken once the alterations are complete. The space is beautiful and they were AWEESOMMMME when it came to timeliness and consideration for dates. If you're looking for quality service and flexibility look no further! Zeita Studios was suggested to me through a word-of-mouth recommendation, and I asked if they could do alternations on my two-piece BHLDN gown in a 2-month time frame (this did include a rush fee). Not only were the Zeita ladies receptive to what I wanted done, they even worked with me to find ways to lower the price since they understood that alteration fees can sometimes be costly. Each visit with the Zeita ladies left me feeling reassured about the work being done. For my final appointment, they even did a mini photo shoot with my finished dress since I had a hair + makeup trial that day. In general, they made me feel so loved through the whole process, and they were hands-down one of the friendliest vendors I worked with while planning my wedding. Although my dress got kinda ruined day-of (I had an outdoor wedding so it was stepped on frequently + dirt stains), I felt confident, beautiful, and comfortable wearing it which is exactly how you want to feel about your dress on your wedding day.
