It's sad that due to all of the crime downtown Zara locked the side entrance and up stairs entrance. This location feels very sparse with service and assistance. There isn't anyone manning the fitting rooms, the upstairs check outs are empty, and it's like the life that Zara used to have is gone. It's sad to walk into a shop and have security in front. The downstairs cashiers often appear snooty and I would prefer a robot dressed in all black and sneakers. It always seems like an imposition to ask for assistance and looking things up via phone to check inventory is too much. I write a critique for a different Zara but meant to reflect this one. Hate this place. They run out of stock all the time and the employees are extremely unfriendly. I asked to see their latest "Ray of..." perfumes (Ray of Apple juice, Ray of Violet Blossom, Ray of Orchid, etc.). The cashier said they only carry basic perfumes. Then wouldn't you know it, there's a wall with "Ray of" perfumes a few feet behind me. I asked for the testers so I could sniff the scents, and she said "we don't have testers for those". Wouldn't return a shirt I bought online because it was the last day of the return window. Quality was trash, employees were rude.

I bought a jumpsuit in January, but I didn't like it, so I returned it the very next day--just one day later. Months went by, and since I never received my refund, I contacted them. They claimed I had taken too long to return it, which is ridiculous because I sent it back the next day. After many attempts to reach them through their chat, they said they would send the jumpsuit back to me--but they never did. Now, eight months later, nothing has happened. They have the worst system and even worse customer support. I tried again today, and once more they said they would email me with an update, but I know nothing will come of it. So I may have visited at a hectic time, which is why the store may have been so untidy, but the entire store was marked down. It was insanity. I was at the Westlake Center to meet a friend for dinner nearby, and since I arrived early, I decided to pop into Zara. There was a lot to like here, selection wise, if you have the time and patience of going through racks and stacks of clothing and accessories. Most everything was misplaced, with many items on the floor or hanging over racks because someone had tried it on and didn't put it back on its hanger. Good thing mirrors were spread out throughout the store, which is how people could somewhat try on clothes since the fitting rooms were closed. Fortunately for me, I was interested in jackets, so a mirror was just fine. I ended up getting a wool jacket for only $90, which was originally over $200. Lots of good deals if you're willing to sift through the mess. All of the employees were at the cashier counter. I didn't see anyone on the floor, so good luck asking for help if you need it. Despite three employees at the counter, checking people out, the line was still very long due to the mega sale they're having right now! So perhaps if I visit again at a non-sale time, the place would be more organized. But hey, I got a jacket out of it, so ain't no thang. read more

Sale item prices are better here than many other locations but what is best about this location is that the staff is really friendly and welcoming. I never have a long wait for a dressing room and often find great deals on denim and a regular update of fashions. They could do a bit better with keeping the upstairs sale area cleaner and more organized but it's absolutely worth going. My husband got an amazing deal on a great coat here. read more

On 12/10/2024, around 11 AM, I went to Zara to return a $300+ winter snowsuit that was gifted to me and ordered online. I explained to the associate that I wanted to exchange the size or explore other options since I didn't have direct access to the sender. She took the item, asked for the receipt, and then dismissed me with "next customer" without providing any confirmation of the return or information about my options. When I kindly asked for clarification, she became dismissive, saying she couldn't address my questions and called her manager. The manager claimed online purchases work differently and offered no resolution or confirmation. They refused to return the item to me or explain the next steps, leaving me confused and empty-handed. This was an incredibly frustrating experience, marked by dismissiveness, lack of communication, and poor service. It's by far the worst customer service I've encountered. read more

If you decide to visit the Westlake Zara to buy some disposable threads, make sure you also budget a good hour or so... This store always looks like a war zone. Shirts are dangling off of table ledges. Ties are strewn about. Dresses have wandered onto the men's floor and become stranded on coat rack. Their employees seem to be shell-shocked from the chaos! I went in today to exchange a pair of jeans (my 78 year old mother had sent them to me as a present). I wanted the same style and size jean in a different wash (things look different online). After waiting in line 10 minutes, I presented the associate at the register with my return (still in the bag that I received it in). He told me I couldn't exchange this item because there was no receipt (Note to Zara: please put packing slips in your packages so customers can return things). I stepped out of line and tried to SOS message my mom who didn't know where her shipping confirmation was. Some 15 minutes later, I got back in line (still without a receipt). I had the same associate 'help' me. I asked how people normally return gifts and he just repeated "You can't do returns without a receipt." Reluctantly I asked to talk to a manager (nobody wants to be that person). The associate next to him was not a manager but offered to help. This person told the first guy he did my return in the wrong order. Associate number one kept saying "They don't have a receipt though!" (I will give props on progressive pronoun use). Associate number two tried to start my return and noted it would be okay since I'm exchanging the same style of jean. He then told me, "You do realize you are getting a different color." Yes sir, that's why I am doing the return. Meanwhile, my poor old mom was still trying to find her order information after my multiple SOS texts. Eventually, a third employee (a manager?) came to assist. She told both the original associates "you can do a return. I got to witness some quick but efficient on-the-job training. As she checked me out, she told me, "You cannot return these. Final sale!" This, despite the fact that the dressing rooms are closed and I was not allowed to try them on in-store (they say it's because of Covid but also none of the associates wear masks, so...). And nevermind the fact that the person next to me was told, "Try it on at home and if it doesn't fit you can return it!." After about 45 minutes I was successfully able to complete my exchange and leave with a new pair of jeans. I hope they lasts for at least a few wears! read more

First time visiting this Zara location and it was okay. There was a sale happening and kind of messy inside. The clothes were not organized by size so you really have to look through everything. I found what I needed and enjoyed the sale of my items. Thankfully, the fitting room was open. I had read previous reviews about the fitting room being closed. Some positives of this trip included friendly staff working the fitting room and at the counter. The purchase line was quick compared to the returns and exchanges line. read more

Fraud and money first business instead of a customer The item I bought lasted for 2 days. Then it ripped. After trying to return faulty item back to the store - they refused to take the return. Receipt was dating no more than 2 weeks. But their response was that the item does not have the inside tags. I have not removed the tags in any way. After talking to the manager they said that they cannot sell the items without those tags. Which means that this is a fraud scheme to never take the items back, even with the receipt. They have refused to refund nor exchange the item. 0 stars if I could read more

I don't understand how one of the few remaining retail stores in downtown Seattle continues to have the absolute WORSE SERVICE I have ever experienced. Why oh why can these people not schedule more cashiers? Is there some kind of benefit to you having your customers standing in excessive lines to pay for purchases? Once I finally got to the front of the line my cashier was audibly complaining about her manager's inability to schedule her correctly, then continued to make snide comments to her co-workers. It took her 24 minutes to complete my return/purchase as she was busy talking/complaining the entire time. I was so turned off from this employee, I chose NOT to ask her questions. Horrible. My husband and I have been to this location numerous times and even bought our clothes for our wedding here. Last year we were being followed by a little "security" guy for no reason. We confronted him about this while we were shopping and went about our way. After we purchased what we were looking for, and spent over $100 worth of clothing, he continued to follow us while we were exiting the store and ended up setting off the alarm AFTER we walked through it and chased us out. He then continuously accused us of shoplifting, even while we had our bag and receipt. Today, we went back in to the same store, and the same little "security" guy walked up to us and told us we were banned from the store. For no reason whatsoever and continued to accuse us of shoplifting the last time we were there. Ridiculous. He had no proof of anything, except for simply believing that we had stolen from there. We have never in our lives have had this happen to us. This is absolutely not OK and if we could give this location zero stars for this horrible and humiliating experience, we would. Something needs to be done and he needs to be held responsible for treating customers who spend their hardworking money there. read more

Horrible customer service. I brought items to return and made sure to bring the packing slip / receipt. (I did not request a 'gift receipt' since the items are for my 11-tear-old daughter -- not exactly gifts). It turns out that the only receipt in the box was a 'gift receipt'. (The receipt is barely legible, by the way -- pale, small print). The cashier failed to mention that I would only receive 'store credit' with that proof of purchase. I had another receipt on my phone that I showed her after the cashier made the transaction. Too late. I asked if it could be reversed. The manager (Jonathon) was called. He glared at me when he was on hold with 'corporate'. When he explained the situation to 'corporate' he omitted key facts. No surprise that he was not able to reverse the transaction. I'm stuck with a piece of paper -- my store credit. The bonus of shopping at the Westlake Zara is that it's NEVER busy. I guess we'll have to head over to Bellevue. Being the 'adult in the room' -- especially with my 11-year-old daughter watching -- I said I feel the same frustration. He stormed away and said his frustration 'was worse'. I guess he got the last word. lol. After our experience with the manager our cashier finalized our transaction and apologized for the situation. A little empathy / humanity goes a long way. However, the manager escalated the situation to the point where my daughter -- once a vocal Zara 'Super Fan' -- never wants to shop there again. Luckily, Nordstrom is right up the street! read more

It's been a year since I've been here (from out of town) and although I did find a ton of cute outfits for my toddler and a couple trendy sweaters for my son... I wish I'd had time to try on the T-shirt's I bought for myself. Even on sale, not worth $12-19 a shirt when two out of four I won't wear and will end up donating. After reading return reviews I won't even waste one minute as I only have so much time while in town (thank you fellow yelpers). My main complaint was the staff. The store was a wreck and when I went to check out I'll was at first frustrated that only one staff member was at the register and I saw at least five other staff members wandering around putting sales tags on items and such. Why put sales/price drop tags when you could straighten and get merchandise off of the floor (literally the floor was covered with stuff falling off of hangers and left laying around from rude shoppers)?? Why not help check out?? When I finally got to the front of the line the one lonely girl told me she was the only one trained on the register. That poor girl, I would quit if I was the only one and everyone else was moseying around doing nothing helpful. At least help the cashier take hangers off and security tags off to shorten the line? I'm sure next time I'm in town I'll be back but I'll leave the kids with a sitter so they don't have to wait 30 mins just to check out on top of whatever time I spend looking around.
