The Naughty Neighbour Pale Ale and Wicked Awesome IPA are absolute classics, and the Headstock is a flavourful West Coast IPA. The Raspberry Jam Stand is juicy, thick, and jammy--without that off-putting aftertaste some sours have (my wife and I are picky with sours, but this one is fantastic!). We genuinely enjoyed all the beers except the Cucumber and Lime Gose. The vibes at the brewery are great, often enhanced by live acoustic performances. A solid spot for beer lovers!

Angelo saw my wife looking at the beer selections trying to find something I would like. He stepped in and asked several questions and curated a selection of Nickel Brook beers for me. Huge kudos to Angelo for some really amazing customer service. He clearly stepped out of what I assume a territory rep would normally be asked to do in patiently walking a customer who doesn't know much about beer through selections and making recommendations. While I would assume that sales are his primary responsibility, it was really refreshing to see a sales rep with this level of customer service for a single customer. All brand ambassadors in area reps should strive for his level of service and knowledge. To say that the beers were all awesome as an understatement. I'm a big fan of lots of the Ontario craft beers especially Collective Arts, but I have a new favorite and that's absolutely Nickel Brook. Angelo, if you get to read this, thank you so much! If anyone at Nickel Brook gets to read this Angelo is awesome!

She likes sours, stouts, porters, etc., but I finally made it out here. (Unless you're visiting someone at Maplehurst &/or live nearby, there really isn't much reason to be in this area.) First, for hours of operation, check Google. The ones on here aren't updated not to mention rather limited! They have a taproom AND it was opened! However, when I stopped by on Super Bowl Sunday, I was still weary about dining-in and they were at capacity anyway, so I didn't get a chance to enjoy my beer there. I was quite impressed with the number/variety of beers that they had available. They had a coupla pilsners, a bunch of IPAs, a stout, sours, and even some seltzers for purchase. What stood out to me the most is the friendliness of the guy helping me out. I really hate to say this, but the people who work at breweries in larger cities like Etobicoke, Toronto, etc. can learn a thing or two about patience. I may not always know what I want right away, but I always, ALWAYS buy a bunch of stuff to take home. I ask questions and always welcome recommendations. Will definitely stop by again - hopefully check out their taproom! I really enjoyed the 3 beers that I tried at home!

We made reservations a day or two in advance for a party of 20, to ensure the restaurant would know we were coming. We sat at 6:45 and ordered our first round of drinks easily enough, but things went off the rails from there. Multiple orders came late and/or inaccurate. My own, for example was a simple burger. I never received the first attempt at filling my order until the rest of my table already had empty plates. By the third attempt at delivery my burger (seriously, cheese, lettuce and tomato...that's all I wanted), I finally just ate the last one. One of the kids in the group was asked multiple times what she ordered (just poutine) before hers finally showed up. No one, at any point, attempted to clear the empty plates that sat for over an hour. When it came time for the bills, our waitress was no where to be found. Another waitress stepped in to help (she was amazing and deserves better). One person in our party raised this issue with the manager/owner who proceeded to just blame his waitresses while he completely avoided any accountability. After the displeasure was raised to him, he did nothing to help his staff. Rather, he cowered in the doorway to the kitchen while his overworked/under appreciated staff worked to try and rectify this situation. I believe the waitress that stepped in to help out was named Michaela. She was fantastic and should she look for a better restaurant to work at, should be hired on site. We have made an annual group trip to the area and now dined at this restaurant twice. There will not be a third time. We will take our business down the sidewalk to Dave & Busters.

I had learned about it in March 2020 at a virtual event held by Yelp Iowa City. It didn't make sense how such a tea lover had never had fermented tea. After that event, I bought a bottle at a cool grocery store in Maple and have not stopped consuming it since. I found Cathy's Kombucha and she was the nicest person. I sampled every kombucha that she made available that day. Unfortunately, she didn't have the blackcurrant kombucha available for sampling, but it didn't matter. I loved everything that I sampled, from the CBD, to Vinnie's Choice that she named after her dad. I knew that I'd love the blackcurrant, mainly because I love everything blackcurrant. I ended up buying a large bottle. She does have a loyalty rewards program. If you buy twelve single bottles, your next one is free. She told me that she makes her kombucha using an ancient recipe. Both the mother culture (SCOBY) and brewing method come from a monastery in Quebec. Wow! I tend to drink less sugary drinks these days. Although sugar is needed to make kombucha, there is little sugar in the final product. The SCOBY feeds off sugar, so it's pretty much gone by the time the kombucha is done. Cathy is located in Oakville. I am glad that there are many options getting more kombucha, including at a bunch of local grocery stores. I have since run out of it (two days of enjoyment), so I need to either return to the market or check out her store. The blackcurrant kombucha was so delicious! I took Cathy's suggestion of adding berries to my kombucha. It tasted so fancy! There were so many gems found at this market. Cathy's Kombucha was one of them. (297)

It was so easy & fun! - Step one: Choose your favourite wine, & make your appointment online. You'll then go in for your first appointment, where you'll do the "yeast drop". This process takes a couple minutes - you're just adding the yeast to the grape juice. - Step two: About 6-8 weeks later, you'll get a notification that your wine is ready! You'll go back to the store & start the wine bottling process! The first step is to fill each bottle with your wine using their bottling station. - Step three: Using their air-powered corker, you'll cork each bottle! - Step four: Choose a colour of neck sleeve for your wine. Using a heat gun, you'll shrink wrap it to the top of each bottle. - Step five: Apply your labels to each bottle (they're stickers, so it's easy to apply!) - Step six: take home & enjoy!

Booking the wine online was super simple - I just checked the website, read the descriptions of all the wine they had available to make, and put my order through. Now because I had been to a different location a while back, I didn't even have to come in in person to drop the yeast - they did it for me! I went with the German Riesling this time to provide a nice white wine for my wedding. The ability to choose sweetness was a great touch of personalization. And then several weeks later, I got the call to come in and bottle my wine. There was enough time for me to call in the help of my bridesmaids, and we made a really fun night out of bottling the wine. Even better was the fact that we got to taste it before the conditioner was added to make it even sweeter. The wine ended up not only way more cost efficient than buying from LCBO, but also it was a huge hit at the wedding! I would highly recommend this experience to any new brides.
