This is not my favorite Cameron's. Though, I am a fan of the franchise (well moreso, the catfish sandwich of the franchise. Which is cooked to perfection every single time at EVERY single location. How do they do it? I do not know.), I didn't enjoy my last meal here. I decided to branch out of my typical catfish sandwich box and instead ordered a very unextraordinary crab cake sandwich. I wouldn't say it was nasty. I'd just simply say it was plain. Boring even. Comparable to the really nice, sweet, boring, and not ugly but not cute guy that liked you back in elementary school. He just wasn't exciting enough. There was no "spark". That's how I felt about this sandwich. And I will not be ordering that EVER again. But I WILL continue to rely on Camerons for a superb catfish sandwich. Probably until my death...No, seriously. Oh and um, I'm not really a huge fan of the service at this one either. And the half and halfs are sometimey. I think its because neither the lemonade nor the iced tea are strong enough on their own that it just creates a lackluster half and half. Sooooooooooooo its pretty much the catfish sandwich that's carrying this review. Yup. I think that sandwich by itself might be 4 or 5 stars. Okay okay, ive been eating here for years. However i havent visited this temple hills location in a while. So i decided to stop in and get me and my baby our usual, the ultimate seafood plater, it comes with a crab cake, scallops, steamed shrimp,3 pieces of fish and grilled shrimp. With 2 sides of choice. That is more than enough food for us to share or order our own depending on the hunger level, ya know! Ofcourse i called ahead of time placed my order with specific alterations ofcourse. I wanted my sides packaged separate from my protein, i also asked for my plater broiled and just the whiting fried. I specifically asked for whiting because they will give you talipia if your not specific..i ofcourse get home to see that they didn't package my side dishes seperate w/ caused for me to have hot cold slaw and luke warm salad, ehhhh. And what do you know they gave me Talipia instead of the whiting i asked for. Also over cooked crab cake and my grilled shrimp was black. I also ordered calimari witch was A1 and they only thing worth posting. As it was cooked perfect and season well. Mara G. came in the house with a huge seafood skewer 08/16/12. It was amazing! The Friday special seafood kebab had chunks of salmon, shrimp, scallops, onion, red & green peppers, corn on skewers. I am so disappointed in Cameron's Seafood. I ordered blue crabs from them today. The crabs were horrible, they tasted old and looked old. I called to talk to the store manager. The manager said crabs are out of season, so the crabs are frozen then reheated and sold. This is unsatisfactory and dishonest. They should notify customers that the crabs have been previously cooked crabs. I would not have brought old crabs. These cooked crabs could have been from months ago, and could also possibly make someone sick. I will no longer purchase anything from this Cameron's. After just getting off the train from NYC was tired and hungry, I made the unfortunate choice to visit this location. I ordered the Ultimate Seafood Platter and there was nothing ultimate about it, the fish was overcooked, I ordered whiting however they slipped in a piece of tilapia, the shrimp was undercooked and practically raw on the inside, the coleslaw was warm and spoiled, and to top it off my crabcake was missing. This place is horrible, I would not have fed that food to my dog. Third time ordering crabs here. The first two times the crabs were delicious. Today, my crabs were very soggy. I called to let them know. Instead of enjoying my crabs at home; I drove back to the restaurant so they could replace my soggy crabs with fresh edible crabs. They gave me another dozen soggy crabs. The establishment ended up refunding my money. I'm now at Today's seafood hoping for a much better experience after a long 12 hour day at work. I just placed a 60 dollar order on door dash one of the entrees was a fish sandwich.. when I chose perch it had no up charge. A worker named Erica said that it's an up charge so I won't be receiving perch. I tried to offer paying the extra 2 dollars she then says she still can't do it and it's not her problem. I explained to her it's not my fault that her establishment didn't have door dash's menu corrected. She then kept hanging up and saying it wasn't her problem. I tried to speak to the manager it took numerous calls because every time I asked for him she would hang up the phone. Which is unfortunate because once I talked to the manager all was well. I just paid 100.00 for 5 pounds of crab legs that were disgusting! You can tell that they were old because the shells didn't crack you had to bite into them and peel them in order to get to the meat, once you finally get to the meat it's dried up almost as if they let the crabs sit in an oven for hours! He was rude and didn't wanna help or resolve the issue as to why the order was cancelled. Customer service is a must! The steamed spiced shrimp was excellent as usual, however the seafood platter was full of rice, a tasteless piece of fish, a few scallops that were over cooked, and an overall terrible seafood experience. This was an "Ultimately Terrible/Tasteless Broiled Seafood Platter". The place had a horrible smell of seafood when getting out of your car in the parking lot. That was the first sign of concern, but I went on in. The staff were very slow and had trouble understanding customers questions. The staff has no knowledge of seafood freshness, quality, etc... I waited about 15 minutes for my order to be complete and it was not worth waiting for. I would have returned the food but I live in Clinton, and the drive was not worth it. I am embarrassed to say that I have lived in the area all my life and never had Cameron's. The gumbo had me jonesing it was sooooo good. Gumbo, in all varieties, in my preferred dish and Cameron's beat Ruth Chris' gumbo. My crab cake platter was delicious as well. OK service, nice but quiet girls. I love having alllllllllll the condiments needed already in the bag. I hate asking and begging for more sauce. The order was quick!!! I didn't buy anything fresh since I wasn't prepared... I stopped in with a friend. The prices were really good and much better quality seafood than the local grocery stores that PG county is allowing us to have. I've been eating here for years and months ago they would've gotten a lot more star however I went on the website for coupons and then I called to see if they would honor the coupon I got off there website the manager stayed that the coupons on their websites were all expired and when I screen shot the coupons they were like how do you have expired coupons on your website? Ordered two grilled crab cake dinners on 4/3/15 with rice and veggies. Got home and had 2 fried crab cake dinners with French fries, hush puppies and a biscuit, we do not eat fried food. Contacted the manager who told me to come back in when I was able to and get the dinners I ordered, which was sitting on the counter. So it was confirmed by the manager that we were given the wrong order. Went back today and was given a difficult time and only 1 dinner, although I paid for two. First and foremost, I am a huge stickler of excellent customer service. Of course you can guess that my rant is because I didn't receive great service or any service for that matter. I came to Cameron's anticipating some lobster bisque soup, it's always worse when you have a craving for something and it isn't fulfilled. Before heading there I looked up the time to make sure it was in fact still open. According to their website and google search... they didn't close until 9:30 pm. Great, I get there at 8:53 pm and the doors were locked. I'm greated with someone mouthing that they are closed. I'm entirely confused because again, the website said that they were still open. A man comes out and tells me that their hours had changed and so have the prices. I don't recall asking him about the change in prices but I digress. He then proceeds to say that if I don't have cash then they couldn't serve me because they have already shut down their machines. When I expressed I didn't have any cash he said a nonchalant sorry and closed the door. Oh and I failed to mention that he said they had already put the soup in the refrigerator for tomorrow. I like Cameron's but this is one franchise location that will no longer get my patronage. read more
