Driving by this place dozens of times so, now I had to stop. The place wasn't too busy at this time of day and I'm glad I stopped in. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. I guess they could tell that this was my first time visiting. Everything smelled wonderful while I was waiting for my order and there are a couple of tables for people to sit and enjoy their meal. This is primarily a takeout establishment, but you can sit down. Space is kind of limited for an inside dining experience. I got a shrimp basket with fries and coleslaw and an order of clam strips for my wife. The orders were tasty. My wife enjoyed her clam strips and my fried shrimp with fries and Cole slaw was still hot when I got home. No pictures to share this time read more

I use to come and get crabs from there! There has never been anything bad i have experienced. Great crabs and great fish!

Once again the food was on point, hot and delicious. Shrimp and fish were crunchy. Coleslaw was tasty, perch was a lil greasy but perch can be this way. Service was taken, given with a smile. This restaurant has been a regular for my family for years. Fried fish made to order. Coleslaw and French fries where the best compliment to the fish. The french fries are fresh cut as well. It's a no frills restaurant that has limited seating but we always sat down and ate our food there. It's better when it's fresh and hot. Service has always been good. Carry out located in a small strip mall. It's small and clean. There are a few small tables for you to sit and dine or sit and wait for your food. I've come here a few times for blue crabs and crab legs. Neither of which were fresh. By the time I got home with my order, the entirety of the order smelled like stale shellfish. The first time, I thought it was a fluke. The second time, was enough for me! I'm guessing they aren't able to turn over the orders as often as needed to keep up with the amount of food they order. Instead of selling shellfish that's gone bad, they should instead consider donating it or calling it a loss and throwing it away. Decent food for a decent price. One thing I noticed when I walked in is how clean it was and how it didn't smell fishy at all. (Odd for a seafood establishment but also a great sign of cleanliness.) orders 2 lunch specials, 1 piece whiting with 6 large shrimp, fries, and a coleslaw. Coleslaw had a sweetness to it and was really good. Whiting was okay, my co-worker found many bones in her piece though. The shrimp was good but nothing amazing. Fries were fresh cut. Sometimes, the stars align and the cosmos just come together. I don't know what it is, but Captain Peter's had some of the most bomb seafood I've had in a long time. I got the whiting / shrimp lunch special. I love that they let me replace the coleslaw with green. The shrimp was stellar. The fish was impeccable. The french fries were cooked to perfection. The greens were great. I didn't think I'd be able to finish the whole meal in one sitting, but I handled that with no issue. read more

This place serves up some finger licking seafood!! I loved the shrimp, fried trout, crab cake hush puppies, slaw, and french fries. I am new to the MD area and I live in Montgomery county and I have not been able to find a place that cooks up seafood as good as this place! If it was closer I would go more often. The portions are a nice size and the food is seasoned well just like at your local fresh fry! I highly recommend this place to others for some good seafood. read more

Yesterday was my first time going here for crabs. Over the phone, the man told me that they were out of large males and only had medium males. I asked if they were heavy and he said "yes, very heavy." Well, he lied. At least 4-5 of them were very lite. Total waste of money. If I didn't live 20 miles away, I would've returned them. The fish platters are delicious the fish has good flavor always the right amount of crunch. They give you 3/4 pieces. the only down fall would be the serving size of the sides. The potato salad if flavorful. However, the serving size is probably a quarter cup ,for 4 dollars. I also like the collard greens. Not to shabby for a fish and seafood place. We were visiting from Nebraska on a business trip looking for a "hole in the wall" type place. We didn't want a chain restaurant where people are cold. We asked quite a few locals and it led us here. Let me just take a sec to tell you that the staff were incredible! So friendly, polite, and intrigued with us! Lol. They were great! The food... oh em gee. The crab with the butter was absolutely amazing!! The crab cake sandwich basket was pretty tasty too. The food (the crab) was the best I've had in a very long time. They offer steamed crabs and shrimp. You can also get fried or broiled seAfood, sandwiches, and chicken wings. The broiled fish was okay but the seasoning they use (I think) is Old Bay which is very popular in this part of the country but it is flavorless to me. I'm prejudice to LA (that's Louisiana not Los Angeles) seasonings. Try it sometimes. This place gets a 3 rating for just okay. It wasn't bad but it wasn't good. Maybe I'll be back or maybe I won't. While in Maryland for the weekend, my family and I were looking to eat some seafood. Of course using Yelp we found Captain Peter's, they had great reviews on Yelp so it was a no brainer to come yeah. Babyyyyyyyyyy when I tell you this place did not disappoint. Upon arrival I wasn't impressed with the outside and the inside wasn't any help. I honestly got back on Yelp to look for other places to eat. This place put in the the mind of a run down take out place. After some back and forth we decided to give this place a after and I'm so glad we did. I order the fried whiting, shrimp, French fries, hush puppies, and cole slaw platter for $16.99. My family members ordered the shrimp platter and flounder fish platter that came with the same side as my order. The price difference was about $1 or $2. For side orders we ordered crab cakes, potato salad, and collard greens. Oh lordt (meant to spell this way) when I tell you, you definitely get your monies worth. You could feed two people from one platter. Everything and I d mean everything taste so good, so fresh, and well seasoned. There was nothing we taste that wasn't good. The collard greens were cooked to perfection we added a little vinegar and hot sauce which was provided by the restaurant and I swore my grandmother cooked them. The fish was fresh and crunchy, the shrimp were cooked just right, the hush puppies omg and the crab cakes lordt those crab cakes. To go we ordered a dozen steamed & seasoned blue crabs. Omg there were so good, they were a nice large size and clean. The dozen males cost about $27 days. If your ever in this area and love seafood, I would definitely recommend this place. It is in my rotation! Captain Peter's has made my crab place rotation. During the crabbing season, I eat crabs nearly weekly and not always from the same place. I have added Captain Peter's to the rotation because I have never been disappointed when getting my crabs here. I like that you can truly tailor the amount of seasoning they put on your crabs. A lot, or a little, you get them your way. The reason for the 4 stars... I have gotten steamed shrimp from here and they have just been OK. I do like their version of crab dipping sauce. P.S.
