Camille's Bistro is a quaint little French restaurant in Albany, OR. It was jam packed with hungry diners, but our wait time was less than 10 minutes. I tried the Quiche with a fabulous beschamel sauce. It was mouthwatering and if they had given me a cupful, I would have slathered my quiche with it. It was divine!! On first glance (street view) it looks like a quiet little nook. It's not so quiet but it is a nook. A lovely little nook. Neat. Clean. Up to date furnishings and plenty of seating space. Bathrooms are just to the back of the business on either side and are gender neutral. We were seated quickly by a lovely young lady who was hostessing. About 1/2 of the tables were empty. Not for long though. Our wait person was Erin, who was fantastic. Today, we (the hubs & I) we taking time to get a bite to eat before going out to the cemetery for my daddy's funeral. Erin was just exactly what we needed to make ordering super easy and fast. Not that he was rushing us, he just was able to answer our questions quickly and thoroughly so we could make informed decisions. I had camomile tea with honey and cream to start. Love camomile and the honey was exceptionally yummy today. When it was time for more tea water, Erin was right there offering it before I ever had to ask. We ordered Croque Madame (me) & Basique Breakfast (hubs). We also ordered berry crepes as an app. The crepe came and unfortunately it was not what we had expected nor what it should have been. After one bite, we knew it was not quite right so, within moments staff came to bring the rest of our order and after asking the young lady to take it please and no thank you for a take away box along with an answer to her question of what was wrong, she very politely apologized and removed the plate. Upon which we began to taste our entrees. Delicious! Never have I ever. I'm a tough customer but the Croque Madame was amazing. Every bite better than the last and I would be inclined to order it again except now I want to try the whole menu! The Basique breakfast was far from basic. With the star of the show being the sausage made by our local Sausage House and the jam which was to die for. Erin checked on us after we had a few minutes to enjoy our food and made sure to apologize again for the problematic crepes and informed us he had taken them off our bill. Once finished, we of course took home left overs and look forward to them this evening. Erin was warm. Welcoming. Kind and thoughtful as well as Johnny on the spot (attentive). We will return again. I was meeting a friend for lunch in Albany and not being from there I turned to trusty Yelp for a suggestion of where to go. I was not disappointed! I was intrigued by the breakfast boards in others photos and so chose Camille's. It's in the historic part of Albany in a cute little space with warm buttery walls. Since my companion wanted lunch and I wanted breakfast we didn't get the breakfast board but I will be back for it. Instead I ordered the Croque Madam with home fries. It was absolutely delicious! My friend's sandwich was equally tasty. We got to chatting with the gal next to us who is a regular and praised everything on the menu. The coffee comes from Margin Coffee just a block away and is excellent. Our server was gracious and attentive. I'm totally in love with this place. My only regret is that it isn't closer to home. read more

I don't go on Yelp often but this place deserves 5 stars! I have been here a few times traveling south from Lake Oswego. This is a must stop for the best food and service! The place is warm with excellent staff who make you feel so welcome. Then the food...I had the Bistro Steak salad and my friend had the Grilled Salmon. Hands down the best meal we both have had in years! We were lucky to have been introduced to Camille and she was so delightful. Can't wait to come back soon! read more

Charming Bistro with extensive menu, beautiful presentation and attentive service. I've dined in twice and both visits were delightful. The French theme is well executed. I went here for the first time yesterday. I thought it was fantastic. The owner was very nice and while we waited for our third person to arrive she brought out hot, fresh beignets on the house! So nice. I got the Croque Madam and it was the best I've ever had. Very flavorful and a generous portion. The ham was so delicious. I got the potatoes on the side and they were very good as well. I will absolutely be a regular here. I thought it was a lot better than other places downtown but that may just be my personal taste. Owner was more busy entertaining friends than making sure her servers were doing their jobs. Waited 40 minutes for appetizer. It was room temp. Waited another 30 minutes, still did not have our entrees. Server never checked in on us, finally just left. Guest next to us were seated and ordered. Food came out in 10 minutes. Maybe it's because we're a gay couple or we are people of color, but this restaurant refused to treat us like other customers. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. If you have to eat here because you're starving and everything else is closed make sure you aren't openly gay or a minority. The waitress took over 35 minutes to get our food order (thankfully we had alcohol) and we waited close to 30 minutes on top of that for our appetizer and we never got our main course 1 hour and 20 minutes later. The waitress even argued that it was less than an hour. (We had a timer going. We got the Baked Brie for an appetizer and it was luke warm by the time it got to our table. At least it was an easy 7/10 on flavor and portion size. About 1 hour into our visit, we no longer had alcoholic beverages or water to drink. Our waitress never returned to refill our beverages. We didn't even get our food. At around 1 hour 15 minutes. The waitress only came back because the straight white men said something on our behalf. In summary.. Camille's Bistro is the perfect place for you if you're a straight couple, or white, or a man who the waitress finds attractive... if so, you will be seated immediately, given your drinks quickly, and be catered throughout your experience. Do better. The manager or owner witnessed this injustice and did nothing. read more

As a lover of French cuisine, I was really excited to see such a spot pop up after missing Marché in Eugene so much. Had dinner outside as the weather was nice. Friendly staff and nice enough meal. Bourguignon was a tad too salty for my liking and it only had one lonely carrot swimming in a mostly meatless stew. I am hoping the dishes will improve with time and that maybe the menu might feature more Provençal options this summer, like a ratatouille made with local produce. read more

Nice atmosphere, great service and food is of great quality. The coffee is their own blend, but Margin's Coffee House does the roasting, the bacon is from Pepper Tree. The bread and the beignets were great along with the crêpes. I think it is a very nice French style bistro. I want to try more of their menu and come back for lunch. I think they have unique options that are not the run-of-the-mill menu but they're not too posh and anyone can enjoy what they have. Visited for a late lunch on a Friday. The place was packed. We did get a table right away, and were asked to order drinks within seconds, however we hadn't had a chance to look at the menu yet so we waited. Which was a mistake. First, there was no beverage menu. We waited 20 minutes for anyone to come back and were told they had "everything". We ended up sticking with water and despite the fact that we were there another 90 minutes no one ever offered to refill them. Low tops had a bottle but the smaller high tops did not. We ordered and waited over 45 minutes without a single check in. The food came and it was good, but not great. Both the Truffle fries and the Cajun fries tasted like...fries. sandwiches were decent. Once we ate it took another 20 minutes to wave down someone to bring us a check. It seemed well staffed, with several people working, so I'm not sure what the issue was. I definitely intend to give them another try, as I want to try several breakfast menu items, and hope they get the service sorted out. read more

We've been here three times now and love it! Like all new restaurants they have some kinks BUT the food has been AMAZING every time! We love that they source some meats from Pepper Tree! So good! The brunch board had such a great variety and had plenty of food for a large group as a meal in itself or a great app to try a little bit of everything. The staff were kind and friendly. It's a cute and cozy little bistro and hands down our new fav breakfast/brunch/lunch spot! Been there 3 times. Charming decor, service was great. Only issue is how loud the place is. Hard to carry on conversation in larger group. Lunch was also good. Ordered a croissant* to go for later- after all, google says its a french bistro. Dinner was underwhelming. Several people in our group ordered dishes that we were later told were out.
