Lucca Taverna provides an energetic ambiance with muted decor tones to balance. Enjoyed house wine with mozzarella balls for appetizer. The menu offers family style options onshore so enjoyed the grilled carrots that had a bit of spice, Caesar salad cabbage version and Lamb Kabab. Dersert drink Limoncello with a custard style brule. Make sure you make reservations as they fill up even on a Wednesday nite! Also if your seated by 530pm you will be kicked out nicely at 7pm. Staff was pleasant and food came out within minutes. Really enjoyed the experience.

Great food. Really great service. Will definitely come back when we're visiting our daughter at Oregon State.

Food was good. We got the octopus which was excellent. Highly recommend. Also got the pappardelle pasta and lamb kabob. Lamb was just okay, very tough. The pasta and meatballs were really good. The lemon drop was excellent with lavender, then I got the hot and heavy which was super gross. They should probably take that off the menu. Otherwise highly recommend and good service.

What a beautiful restaurant snuggled into downtown Corvallis. Perfect for date night or treat yourself at the bar. The aesthetic is inviting and pleasing to all the senses, especially my tastebuds. It was filled with clean lines and comfort. Staff was attentive and friendly. Fresh pasta here is no joke. I had the pesto spaghetti. The pesto was so rich and creamy and not heavy at all. You can taste the difference when pasta is made daily with so much care. I couldn't resist eating every last drop. The broccoli was charred to perfection and dusted with flavor that popped with every crunch. The yogurt sauce was a fun addition for dipping. The foccacia was freshy fresh with a scrumptious basil tomato jam that tasted fresh from the garden. I also dipped my bread into the creamy pesto dish. That was dynamite. I now can't wait to try more fresh pasta here. The barkeep was also on point with my gin cocktail tonight. What a spectacular meal. Come join me in singing their praises and get in here.

Atmospheric Lucca Taverna restaurant is an excellent new entry in the local restaurant scene in Corvallis. We made the mistake of coming here right before a game, and while we were in a hurry, we were accommodated without a reservation and treated well, but Lucca is a place you should definitely stay and linger with friends. Dishes are generous and best enjoyed shared and family style. We started with their aranchini, delicious Italian fried rice balls served with fresh, bright tomato sauce. We selected their family style lamb kabob, with roasted peppers and onion, and their lush mushroom risotto. The risotto was toothsome and creamy, a perfect rendition. We were surprised that while many European wines by the glass were on offer here, even a vino verde, there weren't many local producers from nearby Dundee and Willamette. To us this seemed like a missed opportunity: we would have appreciated more local wine by the glass. An excellent cocktail menu, a solid wine list (please add more local varieties) Lucca Taverna offers up professional service, a sophisticated atmosphere, beautiful cocktails, and excellent food.

This place is very cozy and cute. To start, we got eggplant croquettes, burrata and crispy potatoes. Eggplant croquettes: 10/10 I really enjoyed them and the overall flavor, cooked nicely. Potatoes: 7/10. They were not crispy, just kind of boiled. I would've appreciated a stronger herb taste. They were okay. Burrata: really good! I wish it came with more bread + glaze The fettuccine Alfredo was the best Alfredo I've ever had. Good service- helpful and nice.

Really good independent Italian Restaurant in Corvallis. Noticed that a couple of the other Italian restaurants in town were jeans. There's nothing wrong with that but it's nice to be able to support hey local mom and pop shop. Good food. Good service and we will be back.

Labneh! One of the many dishes we ordered for the table.

They went above and beyond with their service! The food was amazing and so delightful. Such a good fusion for tapas. And the ambiance reminded me of my time in Paris! Just what Corvallis needed.

Rainy Day, Great Bar Seat, and One Memorable Meal…read more It was a cold, rainy Oregon afternoon when I stumbled into Castor, and I'm glad I did. There happened to be one open seat at the bar, which is my favorite place to dine when traveling. Sitting at the bar lets you talk story with the bartender, learn the menu, and watch the cocktails come together. If you're eating alone, I highly recommend grabbing a seat here. The bartender was friendly, easy to talk with, and clearly knew both the menu and the craft behind the bar. One thing that stood out right away was their use of fresh local ingredients, which really shows up in the flavor of the dishes and drinks. I started with the Golden Manhattan, made with a pecan-infused bourbon that was fantastic. It had a rich, slightly nutty flavor with warm vanilla notes and just the right touch of sweetness. Smooth, balanced, and a great way to kick off the meal. Alongside that I ordered the chorizo clam chowder, which brought a creamy base with just the right amount of spice from the chorizo. Comfort food with a little personality. For dinner I switched gears and ordered the Creole Sour. This one really stood out. Bright citrus up front, a smooth bourbon backbone, and a subtle spice note that tied perfectly into the Creole theme. It had that classic sour balance, tart, slightly sweet, and refreshing without overpowering the drink. Dinner was the gumbo with hot bread and butter, and it delivered. Deep flavor, a nice slow warmth from the spice, and hearty enough to make the rainy Oregon weather feel like part of the experience. To finish things off I kept it simple with a neat pour of Ben Holladay, which made for the perfect nightcap. The staff were welcoming and relaxed, which made the whole experience feel easy and comfortable. This is the kind of place that works whether you're dining solo, meeting friends, out with someone special, or grabbing dinner with a group. The price point landed right where it should be for the quality of food, cocktails, and service. If you're in Corvallis and can grab a seat at the bar at Castor, take it. Order a cocktail, settle in, and enjoy the ride. It turned a rainy afternoon into one heck of a meal.

It's just non flavored cream with fizz water Truffle fries: some of the best textured fries I've had. Really crispy on the outside. Could be perfect if the truffle flavor is a bit stronger Creole Prawn: the bread is really crispy. The shrimp and sauce isn't very Cajun for my taste. More of a northwest interpretation. Pretty mild Pork porterhouse: huge chunk of pork. The outside is a bit dry. Inside is pretty tender. However, it's lacking flavor. The tomato sauce isn't adding much flavor either. Top sirloin: it's ok. Wanted to order the burger but it's sold out. Just a normal steak. Nothing special Cream brûlée: love this one. Huge size for just 7$. Silky smooth custard with fresh fruit. The sea bass tacos that my friend ordered were amazing (I stole one as one does, d'uh). The soft tortilla did not maintain its structural integrity - perhaps doubling up on those or using a tortilla that could use handling is my only feedback on it. I enjoyed my ahi tuna small plate. I couldn't quite figure out if they cook it and chill it and just keep it chilled until someone orders it or if it was cooked to order and then chilled right away. Either way, it is good. It really is a small plate though. A couple of bites, not really a shareable appetizer. My friend and I split a beet salad and added the steak protein to it and we loved it. Can't wait to come back and try other things on the menu.
