If I could give negative stars this criminal would deserve several! I drove my parents here for a teeth cleaning and the unethical morally bankrupt dentist told them he doesn't make money cleaning teeth and refuse to clean unless they spend money on everything else!! Say what, now?! Btw, my dad has barely half his teeth remaining... regrettably or perhaps thankfully my parents so humiliated that they hustled me out of there before I could get in his bent grill He's Chinese descent, as are my parents. The worst Dental office I have ever been to!!! I set up a teeth cleaning for my parents ages 72 and 71. We drove 40 minutes to get there and they refused to do the cleaning stating "We don't make money doing teeth cleaning!" And demand my parents to fill cavities and other services before cleaning. Tired of scheduling an appt with Camino Ramon Dental as a new patient. The first call wasn't answered, so I left a message, no callback; then I called again, and a lady took the call and told me I had to signup for the dental clinic with my insurance before I could start making appt, and I did it following her request. In the next two days, I called four times and left three messages, but none was answered or called back. All the calls were made during the office's business hours, and I always spoke with patient and polite manners, I have no idea what was the lady's excuse to ignore me. read more

If there were ever a UFC fight card with Dr. David Jou versus the Tooth Fairy... i would put like a million bucks on Dr. Jou for a KO of the tooth fairy in the first round! He is that Good! I've had a pretty bad string of luck finding good dentists (check out my other review) . He is good at his work i.e. painless efficient swift work without making you feel like someone who is trying to sell you a time share property by confusing and scaring you into buying unnecessary dental procedures. The appointments are easy to set up and the office is clean and in an convenient location for anyone working in the bishop ranch business park. I've never had to spend more than 40 mins at the appt and always left with clean teeth and a smile on my face. If you want the same give him a try! Bad Experiences. It is so hard to book an appointment and they have canceled my appointment twice. The dentist feels like just wants to get work done quickly and it's not professional, the cleaning took less than half an hour and I don't feel it's very clean. read more

I moved and went to a different dentist. They needed to cut off the 2 crowns I had done at David Jou's. They found the cotton still in the root canal. They didn't remove the cotton! They put the crown over the cotton. Because of that, it rotted inside. Now I need a lot of work. This is the updated. I had been going there for awhile. I normally saw David Jou. He wasn't available so I saw Michael Lai. He could see that I was experiencing discomfort even after being numbed with even cold water. I endured the pain and in the end I asked for what I had been prescribed for pain in the past by mother dentist. He explained after drilling and filling only THREE CAVITIES and couldn't justify was his words giving a prescription for pain even though it was on a Friday and I was going out of town for weekend. Poor poor business practice. Their website says pain free. Yeah I guess if you only have 3 cavities or less. read more

Definitely the worst dentist I have ever had. We move A LOT so trust me I've had my fair share of dentists but this place takes first place for sucking the most. I was told I had a cavity, so we made an appointment to get it fixed. Come home and the next day I can't even chew on the right side of my mouth. So I wait a week hoping the pain will go away but it does not. So I make another appointment, Dr. Jou says he sees the problem and starts drilling away and sends me home again. I tried eating, the pain is even worse. So I go back a THIRD time for the same tooth.. he drills some more.. and sends me home again. Next day that same tooth is sensitive to heat and cold and I literally can only eat yogurt because of the pain. NO WAY am i making a 4th appointment for the same tooth. The guy is clearly clueless. Dr. Jou is a wonderful dentist. He's helped me with sensitivity and replaced a couple of old fillings that were starting to cause me problems. I never have a problem getting an appointment and the office staff is super friendly. My wife and myself had a checkup and our teeth cleaned.. if you can call it that. The dental hygienist did not wear protective eyewear, the dentist did not check gum adherence with a probe for each tooth, the scraping of plaque was minimal, at best, polishing was mediocre with very little effort with several teeth missed and the flossing by the hygienist was not even completed properly. read more

Warning: My wife and I went here last year and both had bad experiences. They must have been hurting for business because they told her she had 6 cavities when she didn't (verified with a second opinion) and sent me to get my wisdom teeth pulled when several dentists had already told me I didn't need to get them pulled. I would recommend Camino Ramon Dental to anyone who is searching for a dentist. I have been a patient at this office for 4 years, when I come home from school in Arizona. I have had good experiences with both Dr. Jou and Dr. Lai. I am a bit hesitant when it comes to dental work but Dr. Jou is very gentle and always makes sure I'm doing okay. The office is clean, and they have the latest technology. The staff is always very friendly. I appreciate that there is little to no wait time to be seen for my appointment. I was apprehensive about trying out a new dentist but everyone in this office was great. I made an appointment with Dr. Lai and so glad I did. He was very professional, friendly and informative. Best of all, he doesn't talk you into expensive dental work if it is not needed. My husband even made an appointment with him after my rave reviews. Dong, who applied the fluoride treatment and took my X-rays, is so sweet and puts you at ease. I didn't think it was possible to be in and out of a dentist appointment in half an hour. I waited less than 5 minutes to be seen (as a new patient), and I was actually in the "dentist chair" before my scheduled appointment at 10:30 AM. At my old dentists office in Concord, I would usually have to wait half an hour just to been seen with an appointment. I was really impressed and the staff was friendly. Also, they have a neat x-ray machine, no waiting around for images of your teeth to develop ---as soon as they snap the shots you can see your x-rays on the screen. Great technology, every dentist should be required to use it. I am glad I switched to this dentist, I will be back in December. read more

Dr Jou is the best! Other dentist look for reasons to do work and invent insurance claims. Dr Jou took a serious look at the status of my teeth and provided honest advise. He was also very considerate of the pain level - and took some quick breaks when I needed them - due to sensitivity. I wish I would have found him many years ago. read more

Dr. Lai Worst dentist I have been to. Talked me into dental work that turned out horrible and expensive. The colors of the teeth were different colors and he said it wasn't and it was the best he could do. Teeth cleaning were only 15 mins long. Beware of this dentist. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Jou at Camino Ramon Dental for over four years. Like most people I was a little apprehensive during my initial visit. I had been a patient of my previous dentist for over 20 years and the idea of going to someone new was a little daunting. My concerns were not realized. Dr. Jou runs a very professional office and is an excellent dentist. He is very patient and supportive of patients during treatment. He continually checks with you during a procedure to make sure that you are comfortable and not in any discomfort. He is also very good and making sure you understand the impact of all procedures that you will undergo and answers all questions you might have. His staff is also very professional.
