    Zoey on her Interview Day!

My husband and I have been so incredibly impressed with Camp Bow Wow Alpharetta! Our little pup absolutely loves this place. It's like she can smell where she is as soon as we get to the parking lot; she jumps out of the car and goes straight for the door! There are closer kennels to us, but we are more than willing to drive the 7+ miles for the wonderful service and friendly smiles they provide! The staff is so friendly and it's very evident that they all enjoy working with all the furbabies there! We have done half-day daycare, full-day daycare, overnight boarding, multiple-night boarding, nail-trimming and baths there. Not once have we been disappointed with the service! I am also very thankful to them for making room for our puppy last weekend and this weekend for one-night boarding during a very busy spring break time. We unexpectedly have needed boarding for our little girl 2 weekends in a row... 2 of the busiest weekends they have, yet they were able to accommodate us and called us back to confirm they had room. We greatly recommend this "Camp" for your little "Campers"!

She can also have an extra half pill every 8-12 hrs if anxious during the day. Cover well with the turkey and give. If she is still anxious, call her vet to increase dose. When I picked her up on Sept 9, I was told that she wouldn't be allowed to come back to the kennel as she "wasn't a good fit". She was extremely anxious to the point that she was shaking and had to be hand fed. Unfortunately, when I arrived back home and counted the trazadone, I saw that no extra doses had been given, just the bedtime dose. The pill bottle itself even said give extra if needed. My instructions also said "If she is still anxious, call her vet". When I called Countryside, I was told "We never call vets". The problem is, I wasn't called either and my dog was allowed to be extremely anxious when she could have been medicated. I would like to know why my dog was allowed to be so scared when Countryside had extra medication to give her and failed to let the vet or me know that she needed an increased dose. Countryside suggested I get a home caretaker. My dog won't let anyone in her house. She's be very abused prior to our rescue. I've been working with a trainer to help. I sent an email asking for review by a manager or above, but got not repose from Countryside.

My truck broke down and had to be repaired in Maryland so we were a week late getting back. I knew the food would run out so I called and spoke to the manager. My dog was on a special diet. I told the manager to go to Hamby Road Animal Hospital to get more food and have them call me for my credit card. No one followed through and when we got back my dog had lost two pounds because she wasn't getting enough to eat. It was very noticeable when I picked her up. Then Covid started and the lobby shut down. There were less employees too so for years now I've never seen the dogs outside like I used to. Plus our dog seemed hoarse the second to last time she was boarded there which struck us as odd. Last March 2023, I had to have surgery. We boarded our dog for only two nights. When she was picked up, not only was she hoarse again but she had to poop 3 times in a row. So we surmised she was put in her room and ignored. She would only bark if she need to go out or wanted her play and walk times I was paying for. Our dog was so well house broken that she held her poop and barked to be taken out so much she got hoarse. We decided that she would never go there again. She is dead now from cancer but the two trips we made last year before she got sick, we took her with us. We decided not to use this place anymore.

The staff who care for your furry family member should take extremely care of your animal and observe abnormal behavior in your animal from the time they arrive. I boarded my dog here twice. Each time my husband dropped her off. The first time my husband picked her up and when she got home she was coughing, vomiting and had diarrhea. I had to take her to the emergency room. The second time, I went with him to pick her up and when we got her home she had diarrhea and couple days later she started vomiting and her stool look like it had blood in it so again we had to take her to the emergency room only this time she did not make it. My baby passed away. I call the facility and spoke with a staff member to ask about any charge in her behavior and was told that she was extremely scared and was shaking. This is a behavior change. Someone should have contacted me to say that she was not happy there and was scared for her life or shaking. I understand it take money to run a facility. Yet! The first thing the staff members should realize is that these animals are our family and if something is not right with them call the owners and let us know. If only ONE staff member would have called me, I could have gotten her out of there by having transported to the hospital and my little Bella will still be here. Please think twice before you leave your love one at this boarding facility. The staff members need more training and need to know that these animals are not just dogs, they are our family. I'm crying as I am writing this review because all it took was a phone call and my baby will still be here.

We were never notified of his decline. We took him to the emergency vet and he was diagnosed with phenomena secondary to kennel cough. After a week of treatment he declined and we had to return to emergency where he was admitted for 2 days for IV antibiotics and fluids. Two weeks later, he has finally recovered. Pet Lodge did refund our money for boarding and admitted they had a dog there with kennel cough, but we still have a $3500 vet bill. While we don't blame Pet Lodge for a dog contracting kennel cough (dog flu), the fact that they let him decline so far and did not seek treatment is not acceptable. We will not use this company again.

Alright here goes my crazy…read more I strongly discourage anyone from sending their dog to Ruff House. Based on my recent experience, I do not believe they have their clients' pets' best interests at heart. Yesterday, I took my one-year-old dog to Ruff House for daycare. Unfortunately, I made a mistake and told my husband the wrong pickup time. I mistakenly thought they closed at 7:00 PM because another daycare we use has those hours. Ruff House closes at 6:00 PM. When my husband arrived at 6:15 PM, the facility was completely empty--there were no employees, no vehicles, and no one available to assist us. I spoke with the manager, Ann, the following day about the situation. The conversation began pleasantly but quickly became dismissive and confrontational. Rather than addressing my concerns, she attempted to tell me things about my dog that I know are not accurate. She also openly shifted blame onto individual employees, mentioning them by name and attributing the situation to their mistakes. During our discussion, Ann confirmed that Ruff House does not have an after-hours emergency contact number and has no plans to establish one. This was particularly concerning given that they are responsible for caring for other people's beloved pets. While I fully acknowledge that the initial pickup issue was my mistake, I was surprised that no one attempted to contact me by phone, text, or email to verify whether we were coming. I live only seven minutes from the facility and could have been there immediately. What concerned me even more was learning that boarded dogs are left unattended overnight for approximately 13 hours. According to our conversation, all employees leave at 6:00 PM, and no one returns before 7:00 AM. I understand that facilities may not be staffed 24/7, but 13 consecutive hours without on-site supervision seems excessive. When I worked at a dog daycare in college, staff remained with the animals until 9:00 PM, and morning staff arrived as early as 5:30 AM to care for them. To make matters worse, my dog was fed without my authorization or prior communication. Since returning home, he has experienced vomiting and diarrhea. After this experience, I contacted several other local dog daycare facilities, including Puppy Haven, to ask how they handle situations involving late pickups and overnight care. Their policies place a much stronger emphasis on communication with pet owners and ensuring the safety and well-being of the animals in their care. While everyone makes mistakes--including me--the way this situation was handled left me deeply disappointed and concerned. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Ruff House. **As of today, there is no business by this name with an active business license with the State of Georgia according to the Secretary of State's website. When I repeated we said it over the phone several times she smiled and said "then I didn't hear you". She proceeded to offer to discount the vaccine but then the first time visit discount would be removed which would in fact increase the bill, another condescending response that did nothing but increase discomfort. We had asked for the quote because the vaccines were needed in a timely manner so had no option but to proceed. Dr. Johnson was very sweet and professional. But this clinic will never see my dog again. Making mistakes is human but bullying your patients to avoid owing to them is very low.

This was our 6th time using daycare for our Australian Shepherd, Zeus, and what we experienced was beyond unacceptable. We trusted this place. We expected outdoor play, clean and sanitary conditions, real supervision, and staff who genuinely care about dogs. Instead, we walked into neglect. From the moment we arrived, the staff was rude, dismissive, and clearly annoyed by basic questions. When we dropped Zeus off and asked for a tour, we were bluntly told no manager was available and no tour could be given. No explanation. No reassurance. Just attitude. When we came back for pickup and asked again, we were told to wait so staff could "check on some things." That alone should have told us something was very wrong. What we saw after that made us angry, sick to our stomachs, and heartbroken. Multiple dogs were locked in kennels with no staff supervising at all. We personally witnessed kennel staff and groomers being unattentive, rude, and disengaged, including employees standing around or sitting on their phones instead of watching the dogs. Kennels were covered in dried urine and feces, and dogs were left sitting in it--no cleaning, no breaks, no compassion. Then we saw Zeus -- locked in a crate in the corner, shaking, crying, and terrified. Seeing our dog like that broke us. It was devastating. He looked scared, confused, and completely abandoned. Watching him tremble and cry in that crate made us feel sick, angry, and deeply depressed. No dog deserves to be treated that way--especially not in a place that claims to provide care. This was not a bad day. This was systemic neglect. We left furious, heartbroken, and ashamed that we trusted this place. We cancelled everything immediately and will never return. This was not daycare. This was dogs being warehoused, ignored, and emotionally broken. They call it It's a Dog Life -- but what we witnessed was cruelty, neglect, and suffering.
