I have utilized several Camp Bow Wows in the DFW Metroplex. My fur kids have to go to camp several days a week due to my work from home schedule - I hate to leave them but the staff at the Grand Prairie location is by far the most caring and kind staff I have encountered. This location is clean, the staff is friendly, their prices aww reasonable and they communicate very well. There are other locations closer to my house but the drive is worth it to know my girls are in good hands. read more

After a couple of bad experiences at Petsmart in Irving, I decided to find a new groomer. I found Camp Bow Wow in Grand Prairie, and I couldn't be happier. My first groomer here, who my dog loved, fell ill and a new one came on. I was afraid he would not take to her, but he took to Mo immediately. She does a great job, and I have the works done on him. He comes out looking sharp and happy. The whole staff are very accommodating, friendly, and helpful. I recommend this place with five stars! read more

Went to this location last week on Thursday(June 13th) Wanted to get my puppy nails trimmed. I called the day before and I made sure to inform them that she is not fond of new people and I wanted to ensure that she and the groomer are both comfortable. The lady on the phone told me it wouldn't be a problem. I went Thursday and let me know again that she isn't fond of new people and that I wanted to get her nails trimmed etc. The guy comes around and grabs her leash and pulled her to the back for an oral shot (later found out she didn't need it) he didn't try making her comfortable, putting his hand out for her to sniff.. literally nothing. From her pov some strange man was coming to take her from me. I didn't like that Maybe 5 minutes later or less he came back out with her and told me she wouldn't let him give it to her so I had to. Our 2 corgis have been coming to this location for 3 years now!! Our German shepherd now joins them as well!! All 3 dogs truly love coming to camp and know exactly where they are going on the drive. The staff is always friendly and accommodating, I love that they post the campers on social media. I have never had an issue with the safety or cleanliness of this location. We took Jovie, our 7-month-old Maltese for her first haircut today. The place was clean, and we were greeted with a smile. Mo, her groomer, was great with her! She was very gentle and loved on her before taking her back, then trimmed a little to see if that was the length we wanted. Jovie was comfortable with her and did really well. We were very pleased with the service there and can't say enough about Mo. The other staff member who checked us in (sorry, I didn't get your name) was very friendly and informative about the facility. We'll be back. read more

The location of the camp is very convenient to my home and figured i'd try this out because I had great customer service at the Richardson location. Was happy that the cameras worked and was able to see my pups enjoying their time at camp. Glad there was an actual person paying attention to the dogs and giving them love. Also love that I he big dogs are separated from the small dogs. The only reason I rated low was because I paid for both my pups to be bathed at pick up. I was super disappointed because my dogs were still dirty when I picked them up. The same dirt was still there from when I dropped them off. When paying for a service you'd expect a decent job but when I called to express my concerns, it was not actual groomers that bathe the dogs. You're better off bathing your own dogs at home. Do not recommend the bath service. read more

Omg I'm so happy we found this place!!! We were looking for the right place to lodge our puppy for our Spring Break mini-trip. Our Bichon is 7 months and had never been around other dogs or boarded for that matter. I researched several places, but what I loved about Camp Bow Wow is they focus on what's natural and necessary for dogs. The idea of our girl sitting in a kennel all day - albeit nice - totally freaked us out. We wanted supervised friendly play and for her to enjoy the experience. We scheduled the first appointment at CBW which included Ally staying to test her interaction with other dogs. That stay was about 2-3 hours. The location is clean and just looks fun for pups. There's indoor and outdoor play where the dogs can transition freely, under the continued supervision of a camp counselor. After seeing how happy she was after the trial run, we decided to book a three night boarding stay. When we went to drop her off for boarding (about two days later) she nearly jumped out of my hands with excitement when we entered the building. It was the most joyous feeling bc we were concerned about leaving our sweet girl. I love that we were able to view her play on the cameras (through an app) - and boy did she play! What was amazing is the chill puppy we came home too. We couldn't believe how chill she was after her stay. It mirrored the experience from the trial visit where she played for about 3 hours. It allowed our energetic bouncing off the wall puppy to release that energy and gave us a more calm cuddly powder puff! (We walk her daily but clearly that wasn't enough.) Long story short, we emailed the camp to get info on weekly visits. I would absolutely recommend this place. We also had her groomed bc her regular groomer was booked. We asked for the full grooming package (can't recall the name of it) with minimal cut. A bichon cut is a skill and the groomer nailed it!!! Even though it was slightly more than we expected (we thought it would be more of a sanitary cut - face, feet, bottom) - we couldn't be upset at all because she absolutely nailed it! When it comes to trimming her coat we'll likely keep going to CBW bc honestly it's the best cut she's gotten since we started grooming her. read more

Working cameras, more playtime for dogs than other facilities, every time I checked camera, I was able to spot my dog and a worker supervising them. Also, I appreciate how they were able to accommodate my dog on a busy holiday weekend. My dog will be coming to this camp bow wow location from here on out. read more

Honestly place used to be good! But last time I checked in my dog to stay for 5 nights, I saw the place was crowded and over populated. Since they have toooooo many dogs, they placed my dog on time out for most of the part, I kept watching the facility cameras and my dog was out playing friendly with at least 30 dogs! for only 7 minutes for the last 5 days he stayed. When I checked out my dog I asked why the were giving short play times to my baby dog, they couldn't give me an honest answer! - Too Crowded - So Please Find another facility! Or use Rover, I just found out about it and I'm so pleased with the service. Sorry folks but y'all can take other's ppl money BUT you won't see a single penny from us ever again. My dog Don't deserve the bad treatment and the stress of playing with 30 dogs at the same time in a small playground. read more

Dog contracted an airbourne illness while under their care and was isolated in a crate for 10 days while I was out of the country. Poor response from management team on why my dog was crated 22 hours a day. Do not recommend this location. read more

I was very nervous about my dog (Addy) going to Camp Bow Wow. The first date was good, they placed her in an area with dogs her size (she's 10lbs) and she played some but needed to adjust being in a new location. The next date she went was very concerning and disappointing. She was placed in an area with dogs up to 35lbs. When she entered the area the larger dogs immediately surrounded her, and I could hear her crying. I voiced concern but was told she is moving to another yard with smaller dogs and that she was only in that area due to staffing. I left concerned but hoping all would be fine. About 20mins later I'm looking at the camera and see she is still with large dogs and unfortunately witnessed one of the larger dogs grab her by the neck. The only good part is that the worker was right there and able to get Addy released. I immediately called as was told "Oh they play rough like that". I became angry because it did not appear to be play and asked again as nicely as possible to remove my Addy from that area with the larger dogs immediately. I watched on camera as the worker I spoke to enter the area to speak with the other worker. Addy to my relief was immediately moved along with a few other smaller dogs to another area. Taking Addy to daycare was a very hard decision and I was really excited that she did well on day one. But day two was a complete let down and it was so hard to see Addy being grab around the neck. I just can't take that kind of risk and we will not be returning to Camp Bow Wow... read more

I took my 7 month old puppy to get groomed and he's been groomed several times at other places with no issues. As soon as I left I called them back to ask a question and they said they needed me to go back. They only cut a square of hair off his back and gave him back. They said he was growling and tried to bite the groomer. But he is only 5 lbs and he was so scared when I went to get him and wouldn't even eat all day. I don't recommend for any small dog read more
