I have been taking Ponyo, my (now) eight month old puppy to Camp Bow Wow for around four months now. I was worried initially on how she would do given her young age at the time especially in a new environment. However, for a high energy pup she is, she seems to have acclimated very well! The whole purpose I got her into daycare was to watch her while I was in the office and you tire her out - which Camp Bow Wow definitely does. This daycare has live webcam access to the yard so you can jump in and watch all the dogs play. Sometimes, I'll get lucky and watch Ponyo conduct interviews now! The staff will also feed lunch/dinner if you bring them food for daycare days. The staff is very friendly and extremely gentle with the dogs. They display the utmost professionalism and also share tidbits/stories of Ponyo's day every so often which warms my heart! read more

I stopped using Camp Bow Wow, because I was told that the dogs are left unattended and unsupervised from 7:30PM until 6:00-6:30AM. I always wondered why my dogs smelled like pee and/or feces when I picked them up. When I initially interviewed them, I was told that there was 24 hour monitoring...the owner later clarified that meant camera access for her 24 hours a day. They also asked me to sign a waiver (after I had used them countless times) that because of a law/regulation change, that they now had to let me know that the dogs were unsupervised without fire suppression equipment on site. I haven't used them for a while, and I hope this has changed by now, but I felt so betrayed that I wanted to remind fellow dog parents to beware. read more

I took my dog here a few months back and after checking the cameras a few times I never saw him in the play yard. I called the location multiple times and nobody answered their phone. After a couple of hours I received a call and they figured out that they put him on time out when he first arrived but they forgot about him so he was locked in a kennel for most of the day. Manager apologized and offered no charge plus another day free. I brought him by last week and THEY DID THE SAME THING AGAIN. Also would not answer the phone. Manager was gone when I picked him up and they promised a call from them the next day. It's been 4 days since this happened and no call. I will never bring my dog here again and you shouldn't trust your baby to these people either. read more

Love love love Camp Bow Wow Greater Heights. I often foster rescue dogs that are headed out of state after a few weeks stay at my home. If I have to travel during that period, I'd be stuck if it weren't for Camp Bow Wow. The team there has really stepped up to help, most recently for a GSD about to transport to Massachusetts, and a pittie about to head to California. Each dog got 1:1 attention since they didn't go to the play yards. And it was such a treat coming in to get them and hear the staff say how fabulous both dogs were. We used CBW Houston during our visit over the Christmas holidays so that our dog could meet our other family members dog in a pack space. The results were incredible. Everyone got along fine which elevated the stress of putting unknown dogs together for the first time. They came back a second day for fun and frivolity and were both tuckered out from all the fun and they slept like babies that evening. The facility is very clean and you would never know that dogs are even there-no smell of any kind. The staff friendly and inviting. If you are traveling from out of state do call first as Texas requires your dog to have the dog flu shot before enjoying camp. The shot it a 2 part shot so you need to prepare for the visit. We were from Florida and it was difficult finding a veterinarian that carried the shot but it it possible. We will definitely return and definitely recommend. read more

I have been going to Camp Bow Wow in the heights since they opened I believe in 2019. We sent Goku, our golden doodle there & it was up & coming, friendly place. I remember Michael, who I have not seen in awhile & he took such good care of Goku. We got an Aussiedoodle, Gohan last year and when we would leave town, we boarded them together. The prices were extremely reasonable a year ago, and recently, they have increased dramatically (doubled in price), which is fine, however; one would think that with prices increasing, the level of care would remain the same. In July, we boarded our dogs for a trip. When we came back, we never received pictures of their "cuddle time" or "extra play" which we let slide. Additionally, we advised them to feed our boys for lunch/dinner and packed enough food for the entire stay, plus a little extra. When we got the food bags back, there was more than half of the food remaining; which meant my boys were not being fed enough. I let it slide but did bring it to their awareness. We just picked up our boys after a couple days of traveling. We paid about $550 dollars (since prices increased) for 5 nights. We are supportive of the business and paid for extra cuddle time & pictures for their Labor Day weekend theme. I never received pictures of the cuddle time, and when I inquired, I was told "we were super busy & you just didn't get them but normally we would." Since the bill was so high, I asked for an itemized receipt. My dogs smelled absolutely terrible. Goku had urine all over him. I called on our way home after being extremely upset looking at the itemized receipt & Goku. The employee (a male) said a dog urinated on Goku out in the yard. I asked why he could not be hosed down & he said since I did not pay for a bath; they did not. Wow. I immediately emailed corporate and within a couple of minutes, received a call back from the guy asking if I wanted a free bath for both dogs tomorrow or Tuesday. I rejected since I will not allow my dogs to walk around the home with urine on them smelling terrible. I asked for the "Director of Region" or whatever he said to call me back to tell me why such an incident would occur and is allowed. Whoever she was, called and apologized. Said the employee had a "misstep" and she felt so bad since Goku & Gohan are always well groomed, which does not help her case. If I am sending my dogs well groomed and paying nearly 550 dollars for a stay, I would expect that my dogs be returned to me in that manner. I will continue to reach out to corporate for further answers & a refund. I also shared I will NEVER return to Camp Bow Wow again. What is most upsetting is I do not know how long my dog has been walking around with urine on him. Save your money & go somewhere else. If I could give 10 stars I would. Georgia is my first dog, I am 100% a basic white girl dog mom as well. So when I got her I said daycare is a must! I looked at daycares for probably 3/4 nights in a row, comparing prices, what is included, reviews, what the daycare looks like inside, and if they have cameras or not. This was the first place I took her, I was a bit sad when she wasn't outside all day long but honestly it doesn't matter. She does go outside sometimes and plays so so so well with the other dogs that are there. I've never been told she is too rough or too big, granted she's 55 pounds now. When I walk into drop her off I'm always greeted so friendly and when I pick her up they know who she is. I love love love loveeee that. I am a person who goes to the same nail salon until they close, the same groomer until the groomer moves to a new place and then follows that groomer. Our family dog went to the same groomer for 5 year until she passed away. I love that they build the repore with their customers. Georgia is ALWAYS happy when she gets into the car, sometimes she still has energy left but that quickly goes away with our nightly walks! She is starting their play and train program and I love that they do training 3 days a week and she gets to come home with me! If you want a happy dog and a great place for daycare put your dog here! Plus the first day is free I mean what more could you ask for! Oh and they do cute seasonal photos for free too so I mean it's a win win win win win!!! read more

The best part is she comes home absolutely exhausted and passes out-a side of her I had never seen before as she has SO much energy. The staff have all been phenomenal, the interview process is easy breezy, and I love the fact that I can check on my girl on the app via cameras and see her play. I did the warm up package which is 3 full day daycare sessions (up to 12 hours of play!) and a bath for only $75 - a steal!! They're even open 7 days a week which is hard to find. Brought my dog in for an interview. Because she is a rescue and has anxiety, we wanted to know how she would do in a group setting with professionals nearby to supervise. Prior to her interview we were sent an email with a video saying how the interview process would go, this included introducing your dog to one dog of the same size and same sex. Then introducing it to the opposite sex and so on. It appeared to be a structured process. Additionally it said dog parent was required to stay for the first 45 minutes. When I dropped my dog off, I told them my concerns about her anxiety and how she does with other dogs (which was already written in detail in the application and when I scheduled the appointment). The guy at the front desk said not to worry, she'll be fine. They will put her in confinement for 30 minutes to have her acclimate then start the interview process. I asked where I could stay and watch and they said that was not necessary. 30 minutes later, I checked all the cameras. She was no where to be seen. One hour later I called them, and they said she was nervous so they delayed the process, they would be doing it "soon". TWO hours later, still not seen on cameras. I call AGAIN. They told me that they attempted several times to put her in the play area (with 20 other dogs) and she kept cowering and flinching. Barking at the counselors. I asked why they didn't interview her with one dog at a time and they said "Due to the volume of dogs we were not able to do that. It's Spring Break." We went to pick her up. A different guy was at the desk, who was quite rude. So my follow-up question was, "Then why did you allow us to schedule this interview, if you weren't going to do it properly?" Their response, "We didn't know how many dogs would be here." I then asked "Then why didn't you call me earlier if this wasn't going to be a good assessment?" He states "We did call you." When in fact, THEY NEVER CALLED. In conclusion, DO NOT RECOMMEND if your dog has bad anxiety. Be sure to ask if they can give a proper interview before leaving your dog to be traumatized and neglected. read more

Would never go back. Had a reasonable experience here maybe a year ago, but that's unfortunately changed. Just picked up our three dogs from a few days of boarding. 1. Gave our dog the wrong meds/doses of meds - there were pills they'd broken into halves that we never said to do that with. We left very clear written instructions and verbally reviewed over the phone and in person. It's not that hard but they managed to screw it up. 2. Our dog was covered in some wet/crusty substance when we picked him up, smelled like beef bouillon. He certainly wasn't dropped off like that. We mentioned it but they looked at us blankly like they didn't care or didn't understand English. We had to bathe him immediately upon returning home. 3. Another of our dogs was limping very profoundly since he was picked up, and he's never done that in his life. 4. When we dropped our dogs off, they didn't even have our reservation on file because the employee we made the reservation with did it wrong, apparently. Not sure if the staff is lazy or maybe not too sharp? Either way we'll go elsewhere for boarding in future. They cost too much money to deal with all this. read more

On my puppy's first day, they forgot about her after her lunch break. The morning seemed to go fine. However when they pulled her out of the yard for her puppy lunch, she didn't go back in the yard in the afternoon. When I picked her up, I asked the attendant if she played in any yards other than the one I was seeing on the camera. He confirmed that that was the only yard she was in except for her lunch. When I told him I didn't see her on the camera once in the afternoon, he went to the back and confirmed with his associates that she had an "extended break" and they'd comp me for the day. That means she was left alone in a room for 5 hours in the afternoon. On top of that, they would not have said anything if I hadn't looked at the cameras and told them! I had looked at reviews before deciding on this daycare, and figured the 1 star reviews were outliers. However I now 100% believe those who said their dog is underfed during boarding or other similar scenarios where the pet isn't getting the one on one time they need. I would think long and hard before taking your fur baby to this place. read more

This place has gone downhill. We used to take our dog here and she had a great time playing with the other dogs. We just picked her up now and she had peed her bed and blanket. This dog can go 13+ hours without going to the bathroom. When I called the number to talk with them it said their number was not in service anymore.. When I checked the cameras this morning I also didn't see her playing with the dogs this morning on the camera...not even by 10 am. They know us and the dogs by name. We get calls and texts with updates during boarding and the cameras make check-in easy during day camp. The day I went by to ask questions about daycare, I was given a tour and informed about all the requirements (not many, the basics shots, etc.) The first day of camp, my pup came home so calm, she had played all day. My dog used to go to Camp Bow Wow in NC, and I haven't been able to find a doggie daycare I like since we moved to Houston, so I was THRILLED when I saw that a Camp Bow Wow had opened in Houston. I left my pup there over Memorial Day Weekend and I can't recommend them enough! All of the staff is so friendly and beyond accommodating! They even answered some questions over Facebook messenger when I wasn't able to answer a phone call. The location is immaculate and so clean, and you can watch your pup over a camera on the app while they're there. My dog came home so happy and well taken care of! After sending my pup Daisy to the Humble location with great success (see Yelp post), I was excited to find another location close to our new address. Daisy stayed the weekend with no issue. The location is clean but, I was not impressed with the staff. Daisy seemed happy so that's all that mattered. Today coming home and planning to pick Daisy up, I found my debit card had been suspended. I immediately called CBW and spoke with staff who said they would contact the Owner for. solution and call me back. after an hour with no return call, I called back. same answer. After another hour, I called again and was told to bring what I have, $120 of the $128 bill and I could settle up the difference later. When I arrived, I was told that I could not pick up my dog until I had the entire $128. I tried the debit card again which failed. I had a friend Venmo me the $ so I could pay the full balance and left with my dog. I could have paid another way but they offered no other option and would not work with me until the next morning so that I could get my debit card problem resolved. The staff was unprofessional, rude and humiliated me. They said I would have to leave my dog another night until I resolved the debit card Issue; paying another $50. I don't normally leave bad reviews unless extreme circumstances. I leave good reviews! I would also generally speak with the Owner before leaving a negative review but, the staff said this was from the Owner, so I can't here and I am very disappointed - I really hoped we had found a good place for Daisy to be away from us. I am so thankful I found this place! After having a bad experience at a different daycare chain, a friend suggested I take my puppy to Camp Bow Wow (Houston Greater Heights location). What a huge difference! The people that work there are so nurturing and loving to my sweet border collie Daisy and they are all polite and professional. I wanted to make sure this would be a good fit for my dog. I had a lot of questions at first, but the owner got right back to me over the phone and even met with me personally. It's been several months now and Daisy LOVES being there and playing with the other dogs all day! I'm an overprotective dog Mom, so I sometimes call with various questions or concerns.
