I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience has been incredibly frustrating. The care our dogs received was good, and we appreciated being able to check on them through the cameras. Unfortunately, the customer service and handling of their promotions were a completely different story. We brought our two dogs in for their required Interview Day because we planned to board them. In our welcome packet was a First Day Boarding Special flyer advertising 2 nights of boarding, 1 exit bath, and 1 individual enrichment for $85. The only requirements listed are that it's for new campers, the dogs meet eligibility requirements, and the package must be purchased on Interview Day. That's exactly what we did. When we checked out after Interview Day, we specifically told the employee at the front desk that we wanted to purchase the boarding special and reserve our dogs' stay. He acknowledged the flyer, said he'd take care of it, and booked our reservation. At no point did he tell us another package was required first. We also asked to see another flyer behind the counter, and instead of simply handing it to us, he replied, "Did they not give you a welcome packet?" It honestly felt like we were inconveniencing him just by asking questions. When we picked our dogs up after their stay, the manager realized the boarding package had never been added. He apologized and added what we thought were the two $85 boarding packages. Since we have two dogs, the total made sense at the time. Once we got home and reviewed our account, we realized we had actually been sold one daycare package, not two boarding packages. The account showed one daycare package that included 3 daycare days, one enrichment, and one bath. The next day we returned to ask what happened. That's when we were told that you must first purchase a daycare package before you're allowed to buy the $85 boarding special. The problem is nowhere on the flyer does it say that. I pulled out the exact flyer they gave us and asked them to show me where that requirement was written. They couldn't because it isn't there. Even their explanation doesn't make sense. We have two dogs. If that daycare package was supposedly required before purchasing the boarding special, why were we only sold ONE daycare package? By their own logic, shouldn't we have been sold two? The way the packages were sold doesn't even match the explanation they later gave us. We were told their financial person would contact us. A week passed. No call. We called them ourselves. The manager admitted he didn't understand why we had been charged the way we were and again said he'd look into it and call us back. We're still waiting. This isn't just about the money. It's about misleading and false advertising, inconsistent explanations, employees who don't seem to understand the promotions they're selling, and a complete lack of follow through when mistakes are made. If purchasing another package is truly required before buying the $85 boarding special, that requirement needs to be clearly printed on the flyer. Customers shouldn't find out after they've already been charged. Our dogs were well cared for, and I appreciate that. But the customer service, communication, and handling of this situation have been incredibly disappointing. At this point, we feel misled, overcharged, and left to chase answers ourselves. I hope Camp Bow Wow Humble either honors the promotion as advertised or updates its promotional materials so future customers don't have the same experience. read more

If I could give a negative rating I would. I picked up my dog on 3/21/25, only to be greeted with the question, "Has anyone called you?" That was the first red flag--I had received no call, no warning. Dennis then showed me photos of a bite wound they had attempted to clean up. When my dog came out, I was horrified--he had a large puncture wound on his leg that wrapped around his side, and they were unable to stop the bleeding. They offered me a wrap and assured me I wouldn't be charged for the day. But honestly, why would I be? It was clear he wasn't being properly watched. I asked what happened. Their response? They didn't know. They only noticed when they saw blood on the floor. So no one heard him yelp? No one saw what happened? I requested to review the video footage and was told they would check and get back to me. It has now been five days, and I have received no calls, no emails--nothing. Not even a simple check-in on my dog's condition. In the meantime, I took my dog to the vet, where I learned the situation was even worse than they claimed. He wasn't just bitten once--he was bitten twice. They completely missed a second wound. My dog has barely been able to walk or eat since. His wound had to be drained, and he was prescribed pain medication and antibiotics because his white blood cell count was alarmingly high. I stopped by on Monday evening for answers, but Dennis, the manager, wasn't there. I requested a callback, but unsurprisingly, no one has reached out. Please, do not trust these people with your dog. Learn from my horrible experience. It's now clear that staff are often not in the rooms supervising the dogs, leaving them vulnerable. They don't care about your pet's well-being, and their complete lack of accountability proves it. read more

I mostly use Camp Bow Wow in Humble for grooming then leave my dog for day care for the day. I've had only positive interactions. The staff are great. The facility is immaculately maintained. The groomers do an excellent job. Highly recommend. read more

If I could give -5 stars I would. Exactly a week ago today is when I told the management Tara to give me a call back (which she said she'd reach out to the director or so I hoped after hearing her type "notes for the director"). First, I was accommodating to reschedule my appointment during an inconvenient for me due to them saying the groomer had Covid the week prior. I didn't even bring up the act they kept trying to reschedule me anyway but for once I pushed back and wanted the original appointment. In the end, someone was sick so I have a heart and said when is the earliest you can reschedule. Second, our routine is this: my husband drops off and I schedule for my goldendoodle. Every couple of months, we get the same exact service: wash, no plucking and no dematting (just straight cut/shave). It is our regular. The first time we ever were customers, our dog got the blueberry facial and had an allergic reaction. The last time he got a pluck, he tore a hole in his ear but I didn't even mention it because I said it was a mistake, ok cool. But no, this time...Tara decided to up charge (with the facial and extras) my husband because he does drop off and has to take my 80 pound dog since I cannot lift him. That aside after venting to her about it, I told her the main issue was my dog went in with a custom Etsy dog tag and came out without it. After raising her voice and dismissing me, she said she could go to petco and get an $8 compared to my $26 one. Unacceptable. She then gaslight me saying it was in the policy about collars and that the groomer didn't remove it (even though confirming that she wasn't even back there to verify/witness that). I told her I would like a call back Tuesday morning and that was me being gracious after knowing we had a holiday weekend coming up plus who wants to track this lady down twice to speak to me. We got into a bad auto accident in January which caused my dog to be thrown the back of my now totaled SUV. Someone found him down 59, miles from the accident because he had his old (now scratched up from the wreck) with his dog tag ON! We got him this better quality dog tag after he healed and wasn't afraid to go outside anymore. My dog has not been able to leave our home without a dog tag and they are completely unbothered and not concerned. I am highly disappointed in the disrespectful manner in which I've been handled when communicating (email and calls) and venting my frustrations. I have called corporate and left a message for Rebecca with no call back yet. After spending thousands here, NO MORE. I don't care if it's .5 minutes from my home. Their lack of apathy and readiness to provide remedial measures for this HUGE inconvenience is deplorable and unconscionable. I am honest person so that's the only reason I haven't went as far as being nasty and rude in my efforts to remedy the situation. I guess that's why my kindness is being taken for weakness. Really disappointed to say we won't be returning here anymore. Our dog loved it the first couple times we brought her and so we bought a package that included 3 days of daycare. We also bring her here to get groomed and she gets to go to the yard to play but after the last 2 times, we won't be back and I'm just wasting the last two days of doggie day care that I already paid for. She was miserable when checking the cameras- she couldn't stand up without getting humped and it went on for hours. The first time this happened I called and told them about it and they said they'd keep a better eye on it and it continued so I called and had them pull her from the yard and I left work early to go get her. Last week I decided to give it another try since it had been months but the same thing happened (I took multiple screenshots both times with proof) and asked to discount my grooming service with the 2 days of daycare I already paid for since I wasn't comfortable putting her in daycare/the yard anymore and they denied that request. Every time I checked the camera, it was happening and they'd eventually walk over and separate the dog from her but turn around and not 2 min later it was happening again so I had them put her in a private kennel again after the grooming service. I was willing to let them make it right and I'd still bring her there to get groomed and have her just in a private kennel after instead but they wouldn't discount it or refund me so now I'm out $$. I get it that dogs will hump every now and again but this was excessive and there were way too many dogs for the one worker in there.. I gave them an opportunity to make it right and they weren't interested.. I posted a couple of the many screenshots that I showed the girl up front. I took my puppies to get their summer cuts. We usually go to Rocko's and had no issues there, but they were very busy and could not get them in on the weekend. I wish I would have just left them shaggy until we could get in to see their regular groomer. When we got home from picking them up we noticed the puppies wouldn't walk and they started to have problems urinating. They were shaking and moping. We took them to the vet and she told us their back and leg muscles were hurt. One of the puppies has very irritated anal glands. They're small shihtzus and apparently were handled extremely rough. I called to inform them what had happened and the manager took 2 days to call me back. When I finally spoke to her, she told me that they she'd pulled the video of my dogs being groomed and she didn't know what I was talking about. She then proceeded to tell me that the dogs must have already been that way since one of them had mats when I took him in! She also told me that it really didn't matter what happened, that I'd supposedly signed a form saying that it doesn't matter what they do, they will not be held responsible. My babies suffering for 5 days now, they being on muscle relaxers and anxiety medication, $180 grooming bill and a $400 vet bill later.... We would never go back to this terrible place and just hope this doesn't ever happen to anyones dogs. When we got there, the manager made a comment as to vets seeing them as competition. That should have been a red flag and we should have been out the door. Never again. I'll also contact the BBB. read more

I am very sad to say my pet will never be returning to camp bow wow. I really wanted to like it because of how convenient and affordable it is but not if my dog does not feel safe and happy. My dog was stressed the whole time and so was I not being able to pick her up. Watching her suffer on the cameras was difficult. She was constantly humped at daycare and the employees hardly helped her. She came home with scratches on her legs from where dogs were grabbing her to hump her. I really wish they were more attentive with the dogs. There were several times the employees walked by her as she was humped and didn't help her. This is the second time this happens and the first time I was promised it would not happen again and that the employees would be more attentive in the future. I understand dogs are dogs and will do things by instinct but I was told the employees would be attentive to redirect dogs who were humping. I have one more day of day care pre paid but I refuse to take my dog back. I'm incredibly disappointed . read more

We tried Camp Bow Wow for one day. I watched the cameras all day that day and it was just sad. The dogs have zero interaction with a staff member. I watched as my dog and a lot of the others followed the daycare attendant as she just made laps around the hard concrete floor. They would bump her hand trying to get her attention and nothing she just kept walking. They have no toys to play with only one small little kid toy to climb on. With no toys and human attention the dogs barely played with each other either. So they literally just walk the room all day long. Some would eventually lay around for a little while but there are so many dogs in the room they don't lay for long. Of course your dog comes home exhausted they haven't napped at all in the 8 or more hours they are at Camp Bow Wow. The other thing that is crazy is there is no real outside time. Their "outside" area is a small room connected to the "play" area that looks to have fake grass and definitely has zero sunlight. I take my dog to daycare while I'm at work and even though Camp Bow Wow's price may be lower than most other the daycare it was just so sad to me I would definitely never use them again. read more

We brought our 3 dogs to the location in Humble, hoping to find an option for when we leave town, which is often. We were VERY disappointed for the following reasons: 1. We brought food for the dogs for 3 days (this included daily medicine one of them needed), when we picked them up at 3pm, we had one day of food returned, including the medicine that was supposed to be given that morning. That tells me they were NOT fed one day. How does that happen?? 2. At drop off, we paid for 3 baths and left clear instruction to put them back in their room after the bath so we can pick them up clean at 3pm. At 2pm, when I checked the cameras, all three dogs were in the general population area playing - we called and asked if they had been bathed and they said, yes, an hour ago. The lady at the front desk told us they had 20 baths that day and it was a coaching moment for her staff to read the notes. We still paid $25/dog for baths we had to re-do when we got home because her staff didn't read the notes and she didn't offer a refund. 3. On Sunday, no one turned on the cameras - all day it was showing as "sleeping." Maybe that was the day they didn't feed my dogs?? Was anyone there? A big shame - we spent over $500, pre-tipped and hoped this would be a good place for the dogs when we travel but that will not be the case. No attention to detail means we will bring our business and dogs elsewhere. read more

Took my fur baby for introduction day, and she had a blast. It's a great option for pet day care or to help maintain your dog to be social around other dogs. I was able to check in on her on the cameras throughout the day. She didn't run around too much, but she was wiped out when I picked her up. I'm happy this place is so close and look forward to bringing her back when I don't have time to exercise her or take her to a dog park. Not sure why people are giving such poor reviews for a place they haven't even tried yet. Most doggy day cares require your pet to be spayed or neutered and it's the responsible pet owner thing to do. Houston shelters can't keep up with the amount of strays due to overpopulation. read more

Moved to the area 18 months ago, tried or toured every place we could find between maybe Lee Road and the Lake/Atascocita. Terrible experiences from our spoiled snuggler coonhound being afraid of staff, to one place with the "magic disappearing meds". Bow Wow is a chain, but very owner-influenced. Short version is our dog can't wait to get in the door, runs to staff who all know his name and just act like dog people. They are just great. He is able to run and play with other dogs, while still having time for his daily afternoon nap. The crew always treats him with love and respect. They make the effort to spend some time with him. The crew are reliable and I trust them to look after my little man when I can't. I love being able to check on him thru out the day via the cameras. The facility is clean and well maintained. I tried to bring my pup in for the first time at 6:30am after driving an hour from Hobby airport and rushed to get to work. I had filled out paperwork online and uploaded all his medical records. I wasn't sure the process so i thought I would drop by early before they were busy. Not a car in the parking lot. Well when i showed up and tried to go in the lady at the door very aggresively stopped me and told me interviews were not till 8am and i needed a quick disconnect collar to even think about leaving my puppy. Keep in mind all this in 24 degree weather and she did not offer to let us come in and try to see if i could work something out like possibly run up 1 exit to Walmart and pick up a harness since she said she didn't have one. People like this should not be a manager or face of your business. I spend hundreds of dollars a month at pet paradise up the street but was thinking of changing but not only will i not step foot in that business , i will tell all my friends what happened and they will tell 10 of their friends. I will never take my fur babies back there. They didn't finish the grooming on one of my dogs. They injured his eye. He is not an aggressive dog. That's what they said and then he came back with an injured left eye. I've taken my dogs to other groomers and I've never had a problem. They aren't professional and they didn't care for my dog properly. I honestly feel disrespected. NEVER take your dog here. He was abused and he hasn't been the same dog since.
