Working for owners that just dont even care for the company itself and neglect the staff for all the hard work they do is truly sad. I've worked for this place 7 years and I was fired with no warning before hand. The owner made sure we were never to tell his son anything or else our pay would get taken away. The owners cleaned house but never cared about fixing the building or the rat/water problem and the staff had to suffer for that. I'm a former employee and while I would like to say we do the best we can, I can't say that any longer since the owner decided to fire everyone (expect his son and his friend) within a week that had worked there for a long period of time. The owner also tired to keep personally property of the former employee, and with held their tips. Both of which are illegal in the state of Texas. And he would have done so if an employee hadn't returned the property to its owners for him. The owners son is prone to miss feeding, miss medicating and miss handling dogs--especially the ones he shouldn't be handling. The building is falling apart, in addition to rats, bugs, and inadequate AC in some parts. The water is well water that contains a high level of lead. I personally wouldn't use this place unless it is the only option, but everyone has their own opinion. read more

Stay away from this place!!!!! We picked our dogs up today and you would've thought they were in the desert when we got home they couldn't get enough water. We also asked them to board our dogs together and come to find out they didn't after we told them twice to do so. They also lied to us on the phone when we called to check on our dogs and told us they were both eating well and doing great. Then when we picked them up they told us one of our dogs barely ate. Really frustrating and disappointing. If you can avoid boarding your pet here do so! Find a family member or friend to keep your furry animal! read more

We have visited the grooming over the years and the few visits the management and employees have changed attitudes and care of animals. We took 2 female older fur babies for bathing this morning. The older baby was picked up limping and my husband was told they were not easy to bathe this visit. Upon arriving home 5 minutes later we were looking at her leg and she shook and cried and upon further examination we found her vessels in her eyes were burst. The vet was consulted and she has an appointment this afternoon but suggested she may have chocked on the leash. I contacted the groomer and the assistant manager became verbally abusive and the manager came to the phone and said she would review the tapes but they were not responsible if a pet pulled the leash while grooming. We have used this place several times for boarding and for grooming and we love it and trust them with out two dogs.

They're horrible! My dog had a full grooming at 12 pm and I didn't receive a call until 3 pm saying that they were just about to start the grooming process. They further said that they couldn't groom my schnauzer because she kept moving and they told me to pick her up. I go to pick her up and they charge me $45 for a bath. She was still wet like they rushed her and cut her nails just a little bit (they were still long). They didn't even clean her ears. My dog has never had a problem with grooming, they are just lazy and don't want to put in the extra work to make their customers happy. It's so sad to see a business charge a customer while doing the BARE MINIMUM. read more

The person that answers the phone is totally unprofessional. When we arrived, she behaved as if it was the last place she wanted to be. The other two ladies were fine; but when I asked her a question about the cold weather and how it affects the indoor/outdoor facilities, she said, "I don't know what they will do because I won't be here"! I have boarded my lab here for the past two years primarily because of its location. It's fairly close to my work and fairly close to the airport, but nowhere near my house. OK, so it's not really all that convenient for me but they don't crate, so that's a big plus. I was impressed for the first few times I boarded her. The staff seems pet-friendly, and they really like my dog, but they aren't always people friendly. Prices are reasonable...$22 for an indoor/outdoor run and $28 for a junior suite that comes with a bed and TV. The price includes three play times and the dogs are let out into the yard three times a day. The past few times I have boarded her, however, I've noticed a few things that have caused me concern. First, they have tried to overcharge me twice by charging me for a larger run than I requested. Second, they have returned my dogs blanket wet. I'm not sure if it was wet from urine or wet from when they washed it. Third, they are no longer washing her blanket, so my guess is the wet blanket was urine. That makes me wonder if they are taking her out as often as they say because my dog can hold it a long, long time if she needs to. Finally, dogs who are being groomed are kept crated the entire time. I don't like that. If you are looking for a kennel, I would give some serious thought to boarding here. I would really, really check it out and ask for a tour of the kennels, and ask a lot of questions. read more

Dogs Day Inn neglected my dog, and many others. Please read the "not recommended" reviews at the bottom of this page. Several animals have been hurt, abused, and ill after visiting Dogs Day Inn. The owner of this establishment argued with me and refused to let me see a video (that the receptionist told me the owner reviewed) of my dog being groomed. If my dog wasn't mistreated, than what is the issue?? He had to take pain medication because he had swelling around his neck and wasn't able to swallow. I took him to the vet after he came home lethargic and wouldn't eat. I was told by the vet that my dog was severely dehydrated, which seems to be a reoccurring issue with this groomer. In fact, another reviewer in the "not recommended" reviews also stated that his dog was dehydrated. I tried to contact the owner/manager for over a week, she never called me back, but I was finally able to speak with her and she argued with me and was immediately confrontational when I asked her to look at my dogs vet bill. She was absolutely rude. She undoubtedly witnessed the abuse my dog endured at the hands of her staff and still refused to take any action or responsibility. My dog couldn't move his neck for days and was unable to eat. The manager is AWARE that the animals that come into her establishment are mistreated and abused, yet she is more concerned with making money than overseeing the well-being of your animal. PLEASE DO NOT PAY this crook to "care" for your pet! read more

We dropped off our 2 dogs last weekend while on a family weekend trip and are extremely disappointed. Both dogs were dropped off happy and healthy... But returned sick with diarrhea for a week! My complaint isn't so much about the care for my dog as it is about the employees' attitudes and personality, or lack there of. Each time I called the employees seemed less than happy to speak to me and I was given the same attitude in person as well. How can anyone trust these people to care for their dog if they're short in response and act like they don't care about anyone or anything? Also, as I was leaving I noticed dogs out in the play area outside with NO supervision, absolutely no one outside supervising play time with the dogs and that worried me a lot. As for my dog, he came home how I left him and I have no complaints. I would stay away from this place at all cost. The only one that did give 100% the best service was Kaetlyn she greeted me and took very good care of my dog. I am a new pet owner and decided to bring my dog here to get groomed for the first time. The experience was not all that great. They didn't ask for my shot record at all, which was alarming. The hair cut they gave was very sloppy and uneven. The final straw was when they gave my puppy back to me and he was shaking horribly. When I reminded the girl that they never asked me for the shot record she stated well its really only important if the dog bites one of her employees WTF!!! Shouldn't you ask before the animal bites and not after? i just left shaking my head and decided never to go there again! read more

Shonty is a horrible groomer. She cuts dogs and doesn't tell anybody. Just leaves the dogs bleeding. She does a poor job grooming in general, sloppy, uneven, and she leaves things unfinished. I will never go back to dogs day inn. read more

The only reason this place gets two stars is because the staff was friendly and the part of the building I viewed was nice and clean. My go to dog boarding, Camp Bow Wow, was full for the weekend so I decided to give dogs day inn a try, horrible. I left my dog here one night and also bought her extra play time. She ran out of the room like a bat out of hell, not tired at all. Not to mention she is SOAKED in piss, my car smells disgusting from her being in it. Also this place doesn't have interactive day camp on the weekend. If you're looking for a place to bring your puppy go to camp bow wow!! You can watch them on the camera, they play all day with other dogs so they come home exhausted. You don't have to feel guilty about leaving them. Oh and they come home smelling like a dog, not soaked in their own pee. read more

After leaving our 2 dogs there for 2 days, one was lethargic, both were stinking of urine. Their beds and toys were urine soaked. We had to throw the beds and their toys away. When we complained, the employee told us she was very sorry but, they recently cut staff and they didn't have enough people to care for the animals. read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! I took my dogs to get bathed and groomed and when i went to pick up my dogs as soon as they saw me they ran to me and seemed relieved to see me so I paid and got out as quck as possible. When at home 10 mins later i realized one of my dogs was bleeding out of his toe and there was blood all over the floor and carpet of my house. I investigated and noticed that when they clipped his nail they had clipped it all the way to the very begging of the nail to a nub. I quickly grabbed him and stopped the bleeding took him back there and all they could say was, sorry, it happens, nothing i can do for you unless you want to speak to my GM which gets back in on Monday and is here between 8 - 10 AM. I then called and spoke to the GM and they aren t willing to even give me a refund after they had ruined my dog s nail, caused him pain and shock, allowed him to leave bleeding everywhere which there is now blood all over my car, home carpet and floors, and ruined a comforter and shirt i was wearing while i held him to bandage him. Just picked our Doxie up after a week out of town. We have used them twice before with ok results. This time she came out wrapped in a blanket and my wife was told she had diarrhea and was messy. Not clear on how long but they said she was 'sliding' around her indoor kennel. We did not request a bath before pick up but what place would not clean her up--especially what they charge per night. No details on how long she had been sick. My step daughter had a bad experience with the Kingwood location. Picked her dog up and the back legs could not move. When she asked what happened they just told her it must have just happened and basically shrugged it off. The pup did get ok. read more

Moreover, when I arrived back from my 5 day vacation, I noticed that the so called "playtime" consisted on them opening the door and letting the dog out. No activity. No playtime. No interaction. We have been taking our Shih Tzu to the Dogs Day In for the past two years, to be groomed. the time before last time we took her in, she came back without her toes clipped, which we paid to have done, and scattered long hairs. I wasn't happy but decided to give them one more chance. We had used several times, most of her grooming results were OK. Mainly, we liked the convenience of location of the place. They are just outside our neighborhood and easy to drop off and pick her up. NEVER EVER AGAIN! We dropped her off to be groomed. The groomer spoke with my husband and told him, she had a mat closed to the base of her tail, on her back. She said they would have to shave it, but it wouldn't look bad. He agreed to let her do that. They had him sign a paper. When he picked her up, they had completely shaved her entire tail hairs off. She has a bald tail now! I don't know how I got this place confused with the one I wanted to try. Anyways, my dogs were there for about 5 hours. I walked back with the girls to get my dogs, they seemed confused and scared. All of them are seniors with health problems, which was conveyed when we dropped them off. Two of them fared well but the third one could barely walk, she was walking sideways, had no appetite. We kept a close eye on her and figured if her condition didn't improve we would take her in. The next day she was her old self, the only thing I can figure is the floors are wet and slippery and she must have fallen and not been able to get up. read more
