She happily wags her tail when she arrives and just as happily wags when leaving. Many of the staff members recognize her and know her name. We think she's comfortable with staff and gets plenty of attention. I think that it also helps that we pay for daily playtime. When we arrive, we bring one of her "donut" beds, some "fresh" food and some kibble along with her favorite toy. On longer stays, we also give her one of my worn t-shirts, so she doesn't forget who we are. We often see her picture taken during playtime on the Dublin Creek Kennel website. Unlike some kennels where all the dogs run in packs based on size and temperament, dogs here only run together if they're from the same family.

No hesitation, no tail tucked and honestly, she barely acknowledges my existence the moment we walk through the door. When they take her to the back, she doesn't even look over her shoulder. Not one dramatic goodbye glance. I'm starting to think she likes them more than us. The photo updates don't help either she's grinning ear to ear like she's on an all-inclusive vacation. I'm pretty sure she's made a few friends, possibly even joined a secret dog club. At this point, I'm convinced she doesn't miss us at all, which I guess means she's having a fantastic time. Roy at PawPaw is truly amazing and the only person I trust. I came home to a beautiful, clean and better dog than when I left!! It's like she remembers her early training again-- she sits on command, is quiet on command (now HOW did you do that??!!) and is just perfect!! Holy cow!! Roy sends pictures and videos every day so you know that she is safe and happy. I loved seeing her "tucked in" at night with the other pups. This is a review for Boarding at Club K9 in Castro Valley / San Ramon…read more We will not send our dog there again based on this experience on a 5 night stay from 6/27 to 7/2. This was not over a holiday weekend. Consistent messaging by email (after night 1) and phone from Club K9 staff was that Mira was having a great stay - we were notified that she wet her crate/dog bed the first night, but we weren't worried as that could've been a switch from dry to wet dog food. When we returned to pick her up - we were told that she had a great stay! But we were then told later that she had a second accident where she fully soiled her dog bed with diarrhea, likely due to the stress of being in the crate, and an employee handed out some extra prebiotics to help over the next few days. She also had a fairly large nose injury from rubbing it on the crate/fences. No one from Club K9 noticed the injury over the 5 day period or let us know - the reaction from the employee when shown the injury was "oh my god, we have no records of this!" with an off-the-cuff recommendation not to send her to this facility in the future. I have no issue with the facility's standard operating procedure of crating the dogs overnight- we were told and shown the facility in advance. I have significant concerns that staff are emphatically optimistic on every dog's "reports" when that optimism is unwarranted. Honesty that Mira wasn't having a good stay would have been appreciated- we would have made a call to have a friend pick her up for the last night or two. We will take the employee's advice and not send her to Club K9 in the future. Staff's evident ignorance of concerning issues, or lack of care to proactively address the situation, all while telling owners that everything is fine is too much for us.

(If you're planning to board during the holidays, I highly recommend reserving weeks, maybe months for major holidays). In the rush of going to the Sunol to beat the 680 rush hour traffic - I completely forgot my dog's food, bed and toys at home ‍. I was too far out to turn around. Once I arrived, I explained my situation and asked if they had any in-house food and how much it would cost. They were so gracious and told me that the can take of the food for 3 nights at no charge - thank you so much!! They'll also make sure to add extra blankets on our dog's pet. I highly recommend this place, and it's always my go-to place for boarding in the South Bay. Been boarding our dog here the past 4 years!

I watched numerous training videos online and did a group training (I don't recommend that either) - nothing helps since you need hands on private training and that's how I found Patti on here. We did 6 sessions and she helped us train Louie and focused on his reactivity, basic walking commands, door bell reactions and recall. Patti came over to our house for a few sessions and the rest of the sessions we met at a park or a public place so that she can teach us the real world situations when we're out with Louie. She explains everything very well and why dogs behave the way they do. She'll take photos and videos and send follow up notes as well to help us remember everything we learned each session. It's a lot to learn and you have to continue to practice everything and you'll see a difference in your dog's behavior. We've seen a difference in Louie and very happy with the results. I definitely recommend Patti if you need help training your dog. Thank you so much Patti!
