Booked a last minute reservation for tent camping. Realized the site I booked was most likely too small (it was) so I found a larger site and was able to book the larger site and pay the difference. Restrooms are clean and functional and the showers are good for a campground. Super glad I don't have to pack quarters to shower. My daughter has decided she wants to spend her 13th bday there so hopefully I can book that for her. Fellow campers are courteous, it's the crows that woke us up at dawn.

Well it is like this. Fishing trip with our 14 year old grandson. The season nearly over forces you to various locations at the lake. Mainly boat launches and banks. We were told to go to Camp Edison. Bingo, still no fish but great location and access. For a $10 day use fee we found folks camping in tents at 33degrees just saying but we found the day use area worthy of stopping. He and dad did their fishing but after 2 hours no much we moved but had a great fall experience. The museum was not open yet but the outdoor displays looked cool.

Beautiful! Great team managing the camp. Shoutout to Ryan and Patrick. Can't wait to come back.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Camp Edison! The bathrooms and showers were cleaned daily. The camp hosts ensured the restrooms and showers were tidied every morning. Initially, I had some reservations due to negative reviews about the camp hosts, but our campsite was right across from them, and we never received a single complaint (despite having a few crying babies). We stayed over the 4th of July weekend, which featured kid workshops, a golf cart parade passing by each campsite, a fireworks show, and amazing Tri-tip sandwiches! Everyone was friendly, and I appreciated the convenience of the little store where you could buy ice and even get hand-scooped ice cream! Additionally, the lake had many sandy areas, which meant fewer rocks to worry about. We will definitely be returning!

Always a family favorite, as this campground never disappoints. Extended stay, pre holiday & had an amazing time. The camp is well maintained, and the staff is phenomenal! Our RV site was near the lake, and we visited some tasty food places nearby. Thank you Camp Edison ~ we'll definitely be back!

We stayed at Camp Edison 07/06-07/10/22 @ space 216, in our 28' TT. Site 216 is electric only and listed as a medium site. It's shaded well and is near the bathrooms and showers. It is paved but did require some leveling of the TT. Site 216 is easy for backing-in. Campfires are allowed, there is a picnic table and Bear box at each site. There are some FHU sites available, however those were all taken. Every site does have electric. Check-in was easy and the staff was friendly and helpful. There is WiFi available for purchase and AT&T cellular worked fine throughout the campground and at the lake. The bathrooms and showers are clean. The showers are .25¢ for two minutes with an 8 minute max. You'll need to purchase a shower card from the front check-in booth. The campground store sells a little bit of everything. There's a supermarket 5 minutes down the road for any other necessities. The access to the lake is awesome. I'd recommend Camp Edison to others.

I absolutely love it staying at Camp Edison and visiting shaver lake during the summer. My family and I have been coming up here for years, it's a family tradition we all enjoy being a part of. The staff at Camp Edison is wonderful. I had the pleasure of camping next to Bob the camp post this past weekend. Bob was not only friendly he was also helpful. The bathrooms and shower facilities are old, but always clean. They could upgrade their toilet paper. The two ply can get a little rough. I enjoy walking around the campground and visiting though shop near the entrance. My sister and I shared a scoop of the bubblegum ice cream, talk about nostalgic. Camp Edison is a wonderful place to stay, I highly recommend it for a Camping family vacation.

Great place for a camping beginner. Has restrooms that are constantly being cleaned, running water by camp site, electricity at each site so bring your extension cords. No need for wifi since phones get a pretty good signal. Showers in restrooms aren't bad and super cheap at 25 cents for every 2 min.

Ask the Community - Camp Edison

My brother has campsite #42 and he can't go, he asked me if I wanted. I have a 26 ft. travel trailer and want to know if it would fit on it?

Site shows it's 49'x15' slide out ok. Just says tight turn for backing. Description can be found on Camp Edison website. Hope this helps. Didn't see a date next to your question.

Are there any showers and electricity outlets? (where are they located?)?

Yes and yes! We are currently at Manzanita loop and there are multiple showers and restrooms with multiple flush stalls right across the street from us. Clean!

Can we tent camp or is this RV camping only? If so, where can I rent an RV? Thank you in advance!!

Both, however not all campsites have RV hook up.

Are there any lake front sites here?

Yes! Just a few. Check their website for the camp map for the site numbers.

How strict ate they with the car and people policy? Eg. Extra car and couple extra people

The extra people you might be able to get away with. No way to tell if they are visiting from another camp site or actually staying with you. The one time where it might make a difference is after quiet hours when they are very on top of you, so if… Read more

How much is the Wi-Fi and the shower card for two adults?

Not sure about the WiFi. The showers are 25 cents per two minutes. It depends on how long of a shower you take . You can put as much as you want on a card.

    Do they sell propane?

The already in the bottle. Like you get for your barbeque at home Depot.

Is the electricity in outlet form for the tent users to use, or it just in the form of hookups for the RV's?

Both Rv And tents The electrical box has 110 outlets and 30 and 50 amp outlets.

    Is there electricity?

    Yes at every camp site.

Can you swim or rent kayaks? Are there any beaches with sand?

    Yes

Can i take charcoal to camp edison?i know it says you can use firewood but it says nothing about charcoal use?

I think you can only use propane

    Where are the showers?

There are restrooms with showers in every loop so you are never more than a few moments walk from one. Facilities are cleaned daily and water is warm. Showers run on cards you buy at check-in (hosts may have them as well). At .25 for two minutes,… Read more

The camp hosts take great pride in keeping the place clean, we saw someone cleaning the bathrooms multiple times a day. I'm telling you, you would never guess that these are non-flushing restrooms. They were immaculate. We stayed at spot #60, which is in the lower part of the loop and was a very short, easy walk, to the lake. The site was perfect, not too close to other sites so there was some privacy, and only one site away from the restrooms. Fair warning though, you do have to take some steps down from the parking spot to the actual site, so if you have a lot of stuff to carry, just be aware that you will need to travel down about 5-6 steps. The site itself has decent shade, the picnic table and fire pit are in great condition and there is a very nice, clean, open and perfectly flat spot to put your tent between two trees. If you forget something, "town" is just outside of the campground entrance, within a few minutes you have access to restaurants, and other stores. Somehow though, you feel off-grid, even though you are so close to town. We had full cell phone service, even though we chose to stay off our phones, if you needed to use them you totally could. Overall, I highly recommend this campground and we really enjoyed our stay

We will definitely return! I have to give a shoutout to the camp host Jamie! She is such a sweetheart and beautiful soul. She made the stay feel extra homey. It was a bit cold at night lowest 42 I believe and highs were 64 degrees. During day it was nice and warm with the sun shining. Ensure to bring lots of warm clothes to bundle up in the evening and be kind to the campground. Ensure to pack anything that was packed in to keep the area clean. Oh and be aware, you can hear wolves and coyotes throughout your stay. Ensure to keep all food put in a tote safely and in the provided camp storage so the bears are not attracted to your campsite. Keep a close eye on the little ones at all times!

One of the backrest clip loops was broken (kayaing without a working backrest is horrible), and the deck hatch was so old that water leaked right into the hold causing flooding. It also appears that this Marina knows about the kayak flooding because they drilled a custom drain hole in the back of the kayak for flooding drainange. These issues weren't realized until I was already on the water. Obviously basic expectations of a kayak rental weren't met. The previous day we rented from Shaver Lake Watersports and they had all new kayaks. So new that they still had the brochures attached to the kayaks. Perhaps that's why SLW cost $10 more an hour to rent.. I guess you get what you pay for. As others have said, it's teens working here on a summer job. Nothing wrong with that of course but they're not really trained to look for issues with a boat (or kayak in my case) before sending someone out in the lake. They also don't have knowledge of Shaver Lake's boating laws. The kid that launched me said that everyone was required to wear a life vest. After looking it up, the law states 12 and under must wear a life preserver. I took it off when out of Marina sight. Tip - if you're staying on the lake as a "day use" and are thinking about renting a kayak, make sure it's for half-a-day or full-day rental. It's like a 30-40 minute paddle to the beach areas around parking lot 3..
