We recently started taking our dog to camp for a break of staying home alone while we are out. He loves it and I love that I can watch him run around on the mutt cams. Great place and my pup always has a blast! We came in a little before 9 and met Sierra. She was so helpful and answered all my questions about the daycare. I asked about the temperament evaluation (needs to be completed before going into the main playing area) and found out that they start them at 9. Perfect!! I was a little nervous because Mochi gets REALLY excited when meeting people and dogs for the first time. But he went in and did well! The next part required me to leave him for at least 6 hours to see how he does while I'm away. Make sure you bring your pup's food. There's a chance he'll be to excited to eat, but it's good to have it on hand just in case he gets hungry. I love that you can check in on your pets with their muttcams. There are 5 channels and I was able to find my guy throughout the day. He looked like he was having a great time! He ran with friends, hung out with staff, and lounged on a giant rock. When I came back to pick him up, I was given a report card for his behavior that day. I was so happy to see that he rocked his first day of camp. I met Paul and Chad and learned more about the other services offered (boarding, obedience classes, and grooming). The staff's love and compassion for furry friends was evident here. There are no cages, even when your camper is staying overnight. Paul showed me the overnight area and it looked like a giant sleepover! And there is a constant ratio of staff to dogs so you can feel safe knowing that there are eyes on everyone 24 hours a day. If you purchase a package the day of your dog's evaluation, the fee for the day will be waived (yaaaas!). If you mention a referral, you AND the referring person get 20% off on your package (double yaaaas!!). I was looking for a place where I could take my dog, Danny to play once a week (ish) with other pups so that he would be comfortable when I board him there when I eventually travel. EDIT (2-6-16): I hadn't realized how far back we had the adoption event over at CRAM (if I may), but the current owner, Chad, sounds like such a generous and hospitable man. Will certainly run the idea of having another ARWOB adoption event in 2016 at CRAM Chula Vista to our event coordinator! :) Duane and Laura are fantastic owners and genuinely care about the well-being of the dogs in their establishment and within the community. They were so kind as to host an adoption event for our rescue at their facility on their grand opening. In addition to the setup they allotted for us in the front, they reserved a private yard in the back that we could use. I met many of the staff members here and everyone was so friendly and sociable. We definitely felt very welcomed here! I'd recommend their services to anyone and highly encourage everyone to try out cage-free day cares for their dogs. I have used Camp Run-A-Mutt's numerous times for my fosters and I can say that they return home very tired, happy, and always can't wait to go back. read more

My first time here and called for an appointment. I feel horrible that I forgot the name of the lady who took care of my baby but she did an amazing job. Walked in and very cool atmosphere, right away I was greeted! She took a quick look at my doggy and took down my number and told me to come back in an hour or so. When I picked up my dog he was so clean, smelled so amazing, no cuts or anything!!! Sometimes when I take my dog to petco or whatever they say they accidentally cut him... -______- but here I could tell that my dog was well taken care of. You can tell when people rush cleaning your dog and you can tell when they really pay attention to them. I was ecstatic when Jax came out. He literally still smells like fruit, I don't even know what kind of awesome shampoo they used. Also when I was waiting for him to come out they have a cool waiting area where you can watch the dogs they are training. This is also a dog hotel! I was extremely impressed by the staff at Camp Run-A-Mutt in Chula Vista. I was visiting San Diego for two weeks and wanted to find doggy-day care for my high energy 2 year old labrador. I was excited that this place was cage-free, and was even more impressed that by the knowledgeable, enthusiastic and passionate staff. After my dog Kermit had a his first temperament test, I knew he was in good hands. They really took their time checking where he would be compatible and gave me a thorough report card on his behavior. My dog was visibly happy to have been there (I could also check on him on my cellphone via their live-streamed "Mutt Cam"). By the end of the day on days I dropped him off, he was tired and snuggly (I tired dog is a happy dog!). If I lived in San Diego, this would be my go to for doggy-day care. I hope they expand this chain in the Bay Area where I live. read more

This location is my first ever experience of using doggy daycare services, and I'm glad that it was since I've had nothing but good experiences here with my doge Logan. The staff here is awesome and are not just very friendly, but really do love to take care of all the dogs. They give great advice and are always good at keeping me up to date on who Logan hangs out with and which staff really warm up to him. They also have a pretty good social media game going on with their IG and Facebook accounts. They have really good interactive posts on Facebook and post constantly on IG. I'm glad that Logan made a couple of their posts too =). I highly recommend this location for those of you in the South Bay. read more

Have been meaning to write this review for a while, especially since our girl, Lucy has been going to Camp Run a Mutt for some time, over 2 years - boarding, daycare, grooming. They're the best!! Chad, Paul, the staff there, I am so grateful to have them around. When we're not able to be home with her, when her big brothers are away at school, she loves to be around other people and dogs and this is the place where you want your pup to be knowing that the staff is watching out for your 4 legged friend and that you can watch along too if needed. I like being able to view online on the muttcam if the mood strikes but honestly have come to feel so comfortable with the care there that I often forget to even check in and just come back to pick up a tired happy Lucy. I feel so content leaving my dog here. I can watch him from the yard cams in real time to see how he is doing, and he loves all the play equipment. Not being caged is such a huge reason we take our pup here, he is so much happier and has less anxiety. He is always excited to go here and he is happy and tired when we pick him up. I love the report card they fill out. I feel like he is groomed better here than when I take him to a groomer. He came home super soft and fluffy, with clean ears, nails, and teeth. Ella loves going here when we go out of town! The staff is friendly, the lobby is clean, and we love the muttcams! Before moving we boarded her elsewhere. They charged for group play, and anything aside from 2 10 minute walks per day. That made my charges really expensive each time we traveled. I've only used their grooming services and I must say, their groomer Kat is amazing! My dog's nails have never looked this great! My little (big) 9 year old chihuahua has never been a fan of getting his nails done. I was never able to grind them down myself because he would squirm and wiggle too much. When I went to other groomers they would always make me feel like a crappy owner telling me that he's difficult and that he tries to bite the tools. Kat was very helpful when I told her about Peanuts past issues. She explained to me the way she would do the service and made me feel comfortable about leaving my dog with her. After the service, she made it sound like he was easy peasy! He looked great and seemed happy We've now had a few services done and she let me know that he was doing much better at nails. I even notice him getting excited when she comes out behind the doors! When my Peanut is happy, I'm happy. So we will keep coming back to see Kat! read more

If you are looking for a place that will not only wear your dogs out with fun playtime, but also care for them as much as you do, this is the place. Paul, Chad and the rest of the staff blow me away with how they remember every detail and personality quirk about each dog that joins the pack. I use CRAM CV for camp during the day, grooming (the blueberry facial smells sooo yummy), and boarding when we need to go out of town. We have even done the obedience classes with Paul. My dog Kona is really terrified of fireworks so we board her at CRAM every 4th of July and New Years because we know she will be calm and unable to hear them there. I love being able to peek at her on the Mutt cam and seeing her Paw-gress Report when she gets home . Kona is a runner and I never have any fears that she will escape from camp because safety an security are their number one concern. They are strict about vaccines and making sure dogs have the right temperament for camp, and they really take the time to get to know YOUR dog so they can have a great experience. I also love that Kona can get a quick annual exam, flea meds, and stay up to date on shots through PAWS 4 Shots at camp. They make it very convenient! read more

Our lab Malibu has been going to Camp Run a Mutt since she was 7 months old. She is now 5 years old and attends periodically for daytime play dates so she can continue to be socialized with other dogs. However, I think she enjoys the human interaction with the staff even more. Camp is a safe place for her to play, take naps, and get lots of loves when I have a busy day and don't want her home alone. We also use their boarding services a couple times a year while we are out of town on vacation. The staff understands the stress dogs face being away from home and they work with each dog personally. Malibu doesn't like to eat away from home so the staff will try different things to encourage her eating. Also, the best part of their boarding is there is staff on site with the dogs throughout the night and it is cage free!!!! Malibu and the other dogs can sleep together on the floor, the various dog beds, or even on sofas all while in the company of humans. We know that Malibu is being well cared for in a safe and secure environment while getting lots of love in our absence. The staff is so knowledgeable-Paul and Chad have offered advise and guided us on a few things with Malibu that have really helped. The Chula Vista location deserves all the stars. The staff is amazing and answered all of my questions. Chad was so patient with both of them and they can be a handful. The facility is clean, they work with my dogs to make them better with behavior and also taught me some things that I can work on with them at home. Both of my dogs had the temperament test and a 6 hour day care stay. I got to check on them with the cameras and could see how great they were doing. Both are asleep early which never happens. I have found my new daycare/boarding place and I don't think I could be happier. I highly recommend the Chula Vista location. You can tell that they care about your animals and you as well read more

I have been bringing my 2 boys to the camp for about 8 months. I believe the owners, (Chad & Paul), are dedicated to the care and well being of the animals in their custody. My 2 seem to enjoy being at the facility. The staff recognizes my boys when they are left for the day and I appreciate the attention given to them. My one complaint has to do more with the communication of rules & regulations. When I first starting bringing the boys to the camp and was told I could bring food and the staff would feed them at feeding times. I would pack up the food along with their bowls in a tote. This was done on many occasions. I always wondered why, when I picked them up, I would have to wait to retrieve the tote. It was later explained they had small cubby holes where they stored each dogs property. So the tote took up to much room. I didn't need to bring feeding bowls because they were provided. Would have been nice to know what was needed when dropping off my pets. The first time I boarded my boys, there was a questionnaire which needed to be completed. The form asked for emergency contacts, feeding preferences, etc and a section for special requests. Since they were going to be staying for 9 days, I included a request to have them bathed upon my return. I remember reading a review where a person was upset that her dog had not been given a bath as she had requested. I called a few days before picking up my boys to remind them of my requests. I was told they didn't have any requests for a bath. When I spoke to one of the owners and explained I had wrote the request on the form I submitted, I was told they didn't go by those requests because people didn't update their profiles. Why have a special request section if it was going to be ignored. This is where I believe it would be helpful if the Camp had some sort of checklist so new people would know exactly what was expected. Knowing you needed to verbally request any additional services would alleviate any confusion for new members. Overall I am happy with the staff and accommodations. I have recommended this camp to friends. read more

I love this place! I bring my panther anytime. He can stay half, full day anytime! And when I go on vacation I bring him here for boarding. He gets excited whenever he comes here.
