This review is long over due! We've been taking our boys here for years now. We first were introduced to Camp from another military family and this place has literally been a life saver! Maxx and Teddy are both German Shepherds and can be handfuls at time when they don't get the proper exercise they need. Camp has gotten to know our boys and has really catered to our needs and has given us such a peace of mind. While my husband is deployed and I'm pregnant, I haven't been able to get the boys their proper exercise, but with camp they come home exhausted and are always excited to go back! (Teddy is a little more hesitant, but he's warming up!) I cannot recommend camp enough! Excellent service and care for our dog. We have been going for four years and it is one of the only places we trust to watch over our dog the times we head out of town. I would add a caveat that it can sometimes get a bit crowded during holidays and it could be improved with a bit more separation of smaller dogs (sub-30-35 lbs) from large dogs (they used to do this more pre-COVID), but the camp staff does a pretty good job ensuring all the dogs get along as best they can during those busy times. I do like the temperament testing to ensure that each dog is compatible. read more

They're simply the best. Better than all the rest. Camp Run-A-Mutt is Disneyland for dogs. At the end of October, my husband, myself and our dog moved to San Diego for work. With our new jobs and new business, we knew that at least in the beginning, we would need to find a daycare for our 1.5 year old chocolate lab pup. After doing some research, I decided CRAM seemed like the best place. I called them before we moved to SD & they set up a temperament test for our boy the day before we started work. It was absolutely perfect timing. Of course he passed his test because here I am writing a review five months later about the place our pup loves so much he doesn't want to come home (and trust me, he's very loved & spoiled at home). Our chocolate lab Remy has been a CRAM full day, unlimited daycare member since November 1st of 2020 and I have never regretted a penny I have spent here. The owners, the staff, the facility...everything is top notch! I only wanted the best for our dog and CRAM is exactly that. Paul and Chad are the owners and they're two of the kindest, most loving and caring people I've ever met. Being a lab, our Remy had some impulse control issues in that he always wanted to run straight in the door to go play at CRAM. Paul took the time and taught Remy to sit, relax and wait and then he gets to go inside. The "teachers", as I call them, are so incredible. Remy gets full body wiggles and the biggest smile every time he sees Paul, Chad, Jess, Azul, Ursula or anyone else on the CRAM team. We are very protective over our boy and we don't trust him with just anyone but it was so easy to trust the CRAM team with our baby. I know he is so well taken care of there. They're like family to us now. I could not be more thankful for how much they take care of and love our boy. Remy is extremely, extremely happy to go there everyday. I send him with his lunch everyday and he is always fed and given water there. They have the coolest free run space in the back. I watch their Muttcams all the time at work and love watching my boy play with his sweet friends. Our clients will sometimes see the Muttcams as well and they're always so amazed at the facility. They have different "playgrounds" for different temperaments of dogs. All the dogs that go there are such good boys and good girls. We are never worried when he is there because he truly is in the greatest hands. They have so many cool features in their playgrounds to keep your dog stimulated, happy and try new things. They also do boarding and grooming. We had them give Remy a bath once and he came home so soft and smelling incredible! We haven't tried boarding yet because we haven't needed to but when we do, he will be going to CRAM. They have someone on site with the dogs 24/7 and nothing puts my mind at ease knowing someone will always be with him. We absolutely love Camp Run-A-Mutt Chula Vista! read more

Mea loves going to Camp-Run-A-Mutt in Chula Vista. She goes twice a week because that is what I am able to afford. But, she would be going every day if I could send her. The staff is very friendly and loves all the dogs. They are very aware of all the dogs shots and will not allow a dog to stay if they are not up to date. I like that the dogs have a lot of shade and Mea loves the pond. While I'm at work I can watch her on the LIVE stream and feel so at ease leaving her. I love this place I have been taking my dog here for a month now for socializing, day care and boarding. They constantly give you updates on how your pup did. They work with the dogs on behavior, teach them to listen to commands. They are well staffed, also you can tell the owner is passionate about this which is awesome. My only recommendations would be more shade but that's only because my dog easily gets sunburned plus I think it would be awesome for the doggy cams to be 24 hrs. CRAM-CV is not only a great place where my Dachshund Huey can play while we're at work, but a great place for boarding as well. Everyone who works here is so friendly and absolutely loves dogs. Huey had a puppy sleepover for 3 nights and it's so nice that he was able to snuggle with the camp staff during the night, instead of sleeping in a kennel. It is also nice to be able to see our hound on the cameras on their website. We also paid for a check out grooming and he smells sooo good! My little Montee and I love Camp Run a Mutt! He gets very excited EVERY time we pull into the parking lot! I knew we were in good hands when I took Montee in for his temperament test and was given a thorough tour and detailed explanation of the services they offer. I felt even more at ease when Chad reassured me that Montee would most often be in their shady yard because he's albino. He also let me know that he and staff members would consistently reapply sunscreen on Montee throughout his time to further prevent Montee from being sunburned. Montee is also deaf and I really appreciate Chad taking the time to show me some of the sign language they use so that I can reinforce the same behaviors at home. We've been taking our 4-month-old French Bulldog for a little over a month now...and it's AMAZING! My girlfriend and I work full-time and it's so nice to have a place that truly cares for our baby girl. The hours are very convenient and she LOVES going! We've noticed a HUGE change in her as she's completely calm around other dogs, she doesn't have accidents in the house, and she's exhausted from playing with the other dogs by the time we pick her up. My husband and I decided to spend the winter in San Diego and took our little dog, Gizmo with us. After arriving, we planned our agenda and realized we had a lot of activities planned that were not dog friendly so we started looking for a dog sitting service. That is when we found Camp Run a Mutt. This was our first long distance traveling (we are from Michigan) since getting our pup so we had not used a service like doggie day care. The owners, Paul and Chad made the process so positive. We ran into some issues with vaccine requirements that differed from Michigan but the staff helped us navigate what was required in California. The Day Care explained why the vaccines were needed and even offered in house vaccine clinics with a local veterinarian to make the process seamless. The camp also offered grooming services which are done while the pup is in daycare. Gizmo loved going there and we loved checking in on him through their mutt cams! They also offer classes for training, have food, treats, and equipment for your pup in the entry way that you can browse through as you wait to pick up your pup. When I send Maggie off saying "Ok Maggie, let's go to Camp!" and see her happily trot off with a staff member, it brings me joy to see that she wants to return to have fun playing with her friends (staff and other pups) all day long. We have been coming to this camp run a mutt for 4+ years now. We have loved bringing our dogs, Bailey and Kahlua here. We loved it so much, in fact, we kept bringing our dogs here after we moved to east county. HOWEVER, I have had horrible experiences with getting my dogs groomed. One of the days I picked up my dogs from camp, I asked for a grooming appointment. I scheduled it with one of the runners. The day of the appointment, I bring my dogs, drop them off, and 5 minutes later get a phone call that they didn't have an appointment. The runner I guess forgot to put my appointment in the books. Okay, we all make mistakes. I kindly picked up my dogs and rescheduled my grooming appointment. Today my dogs got groomed. When I went to pick them up, I was rudely greeted by the owner about how I was late to pick up my dogs and that I needed to be there within 15 minutes of their phone call. Well, that's impossible because I live more than 15 minutes away (again, we commute because we loved it) AND I have a toddler and a newborn who were in the middle of their naps. I had to wake them and get them out the door. He then proceeded to tell me that I should have had my kids awake and ready and waiting for their phone call. I am not going to be stressed out over getting my dogs groomed, nor am I going to be rudely spoken to as a long time customer (who has never been rude or taken advantage of this business). I also was never explained any of this to me, so I didn't know. I would have happily paid for the daycare fee instead of being treated rudely. We will now be finding a camp run a mutt closer to our house. read more

Our beloved Luna is always excited as we approach the camp and sprints out of the car when one of the many amigable, dog loving staff members comes out to safely greet us and retrieve her. When we pick her up she is often exhausted from hours of play and interaction with other dogs. She is a dog with a lot of energy and the staff knows her personality and are very accomodating to her needs.
