I have patronized Campagnia in Bay Ridge for many years. A friend wanted to try the Staten Island location during the holidays. Have to admit things are a wee bit different here. First, this location appears a bit more spacious, there is an actual bar ( loved the Christmas shakers adorning it). The mood was festive and we were seated earlier than our Resy. Second,, this location, I'll abbreviated Si( Island of Staten) served complimentary focaccia and a dipping sauce. Nice touch and yummy! We really were just craving calamari and pizza. The Calamari was utterly delicious, plentiful, nice sized portion and the marinara sauce was delicious. For the pizza, we ordered half vodka and half Margherita. I didn't taste the vodka, my friend loved it! I ate the Margherita which was delicious. For dessert, Cappuccino hit the spot on a very windy night. The service was on point and the staff were friendly, accommodating and professional, especially on a busy night. I really liked the vibe.. I'll be back... Decided to do lunch with my Italian friend here. We was excited about coming here because of all the RAVE reviews . Sadly I was very much underwhelmed by the food. There's nothing "authentic " about the food here. Started with fried chicken wings and a focaccia. One wing was tasted and sent the rest back they were just not good . When I told the waiter we didn't like them instead of asking what was wrong he asked if they were cold. Which means they aren't made fresh . First red flag Focaccia came out and wasn't focaccia it was a thin crust pizza style very dry very hard not good . We picked at it but definitely didn't finish it . I wanted chicken parmigiana because I mean an authentic Italian restaurant can't mess that up right ? The food came out room temperature To about lukewarm which means the food isn't freshly made. I ordered roasted potatoes instead of pasta . The roasted potatoes had no flavor at all even after I added salt pepper and garlic it still was on the bland side . The chicken cutlet was ok the cheese was the best part . Food wasn't hot . My friend ordered a portofino sandwich minus the eggplant and fries . She stated the fires tasted like McDonalds fries and the sandwich was underwhelming. The prosciutto wasn't salty and there was extra extra peppers maybe because she omitted the eggplant. Either way the best part of this visit was the valet guy ! The restaurant is nice the decor is nice lots of tvs showing different things but the food isn't good and I can't see what everybody is raving about. A friend of mine consistently goes to this place and absolutely loves it, and she says that everything she's ever gotten from here has been amazing. So I finally was able to try it with her. We went there in the middle of the day and we sat at the bar and got the lunch specials. The bartender was great. He was friendly and prompt with his service. We ordered the steak sandwich (without bread), and the Roma sandwich. I asked for my steak to be medium, but it unfortunately came out a little on the well side. I feel like it was smothered in the Swiss cheese and there was not much steak under it. The flavor was okay. My friend ordered the Roma and she loved it. The atmosphere is bright and beautiful. They have seating by the bar. Dinning area or even by the windows where they're open so you have warm breeze. Prices or &8. And above. I didn't have any was too full but from plates around me their desserts looked delicious. They have different locations so I'll try the one in Brooklyn in Park Slope side. I happens to be passing through in Staten Island so I ended up at one of those locations. I honestly picked the wrong dish but I'll go back to try the desserts and something else. We called to ask if we can get a new order or refund but they kept going back and forth with me. Ultimately, they wanted me to bring the dish back and I got a refund for only the very milky dish. I was in the area and decided to give this location a try. I love the Bay Ridge spot it's absolutely amazing, especially when it comes to the service and management so I had high expectations. Unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed. The food here was mediocre at best and didn't quite measure up to the Bay Ridge location. The service also lacked the warm, welcoming feel that I've come to expect. This space is much larger and more grand, which I understand can make it harder to provide the same level of attentiveness as a smaller venue. Still, during our entire meal, no one checked up on us, which made the experience feel a little impersonal. One of the main reasons I go to Campania is for the impeccable, extraordinary service, so this stood out to me. The appetizers also felt noticeably smaller compared to Bay Ridge, which was surprising. On the upside, this location does offer a wider variety of dishes, which is nice to see. Would I give this place a second try? Maybe, if I'm already in the area and want to explore some of the different menu options. But as for the overall service and hospitality, it just doesn't compare to Bay Ridge. read more

Really disappointed at our most recent visit to Campania. The food was great - this review has no complaints on the food - all good there. This is about service. Having visited their location in Bay Ridge and their location in Eltingville and having great experiences we were looking forward to more of that at this location and we were left quite unhappy. We were a large group, and had made reservations nearly three weeks out. They knew we would have children, I told them and I requested two high chairs, and they placed our table in a location right near the only handicap entrance and door to their patio seating. It was simply not ideal having the door opening and feeling like we were in the way because we had two strollers with us -- which we would have happily moved but there was no place to put them and no help given. We asked and they were like do whatever you want. They did not want us there. It was an early evening dinner on a weeknight in the summer the restaurant was not crowded by any means. But they rushed us out of that place as if it was on fire. The server was fine, but the runners for food and drink and bussers for clearing literally took plates cups and utensils as people were actively eating. We had ordered several pies, most still with slices, and they kept coming over asking us what they could clear. We were not lingering we were in and out in less than an hour and a half with 10 people. When we ordered dessert they seemed clearly annoyed. They seemed unhappy we didn't order drinks and it was mostly sodas and waters. The whole experience was really uncomfortable and disappointing and I hope it was just an off night. Made our entire group feel unwelcome - and we all have been to the other locations and have never had an experience like this. read more

Not here to complain much. Food and service is good/very good and ambiance is nice with seating outside also (did not check if the rooftop area was still open). Valet parking if you can't find parking. Have been here a few times as well as their other locations. I don't come frequently since I like to rotate/try new restaurants. It could be me, not being a restaurant connoisseur - even though I have been to many restaurants and plenty of times. I did forget and/or was distracted. Normally, at restaurants, you are asked as soon as seated would you like to start with a drink and they always bring a glass of tap water at some point/yes sometimes we ask just in case. We were asked if we wanted flat or frizzy water. Just so one is aware - if anyone reads or is naive like me, we were charged $7 for a bottle of flat water. It is not tap water. It was opened very quickly. I did not want to say anything only because I was being treated to dinner and did not want to make my host uncomfortable. I have been to three dinners this weekend and going again to two this week (yes, either too many times or nothing for months). I am curious but know it won't happen. Came here on a Wednesday evening and it was crowded. They have two entrances, the side entrance has a ramp for people with wheelchairs and strollers. The services are lacking. We had to ask multiple time to refill water and they still didn't do it. I couldn't hear what the server was saying went he was tell me what type of drafts they have. It is a bit too noisy for me. The foods are a hit and missed. The pesto pizza and black linguini tasted delicious while the linguine with clams, steak, and shank was ok. I would definitely go back for the pesto pizza. read more

This is such a cute spot to grab dinner. We were seated in the wine cellar portion as the restaurant was pretty busy for a Friday night. It was super cute with one wall decorated as wine barrels. The service was awesome from our waitress and the bussers. They made sure we had water and cleared small items before our meals got there. They immediately give you bread with this tomato mix. I cannot remember what it's called. We ordered mozzarella sticks, the apple salad with chicken, lobster ravioli, spaghetti, and penne vodka with chicken. The food came out relatively fast, but that also might have been because we were chatting away. Reservation made for 8 people, arrived a few minutes before and waited over 15mins at the door front, then we were ignored by our server for another 20mins or so. he never came over or asked if we were ready. basically our table was walked past by many bus boys and servers until we had to stop some bunch of servers chatting around to figure who was our server. Three of us went to have lunch at Campania today. The food was very good, but at times we were asked if we had finished what we were eating? Don't understand why since the individual still had food in their plate. The issue occurred during dessert, I had ordered Vanilla Gelato with espresso, I received two scoops of vanilla ice cream. When I told the waiter that this was the wrong dessert order, he apologized and walked away. A few minutes later another gentlemen came by and asked how everything was. I then explained to him what I had ordered and what I was given. He then asked me whether or not I wanted my originally order, I told him no. We noticed that he went over to the waiter and spoke with him. The waiter came over and explained that he was confused, and apologized for the miscommunication. The kicker here, that instead of be given this dessert for free he charged us for the more expensive. Excellent food, wait staff are running around to quickly and looking to clear your plate off the table, while you are putting in the last bite.
