I showed up on a Saturday in May 2018 to look at new units, the sales rep was good, I have no issues with him, We looked at a few units and he sold me on one that had been there for 362 days according to his print out, he told me it was overstock so he could cut it down from $75K which was list price and sale price was $62. I bought it, brought him the down payment and purchased the best warranty they could offer. When I showed up to pick it up the walk around was with someone who "Does not usually do a walk around" But he tried his best, he couldn't even show me how to drain the tanks. But either way it was OK, I figured you tube could show me more than that guy. They pulled it around and set it for me to hook my 5th wheel to it around 4:45 pm. As I was hooking up I tried to lift the unit and the Auto Level would not lift. Nobody was there except for 1 tech who came out and looked at it and came to the conclusion that the main panel was bad. He was able to reset it and get it to work and advised me to bring it back when they were open. I said OK my hands are tied. So I took it, I traveled to the beach with it and set it up. The first time I set it up, I put the slides out and the auto level, we were there a week, during that week we started to notice several issues, 1st, the sink faucet fell apart, 2nd the shower drain came out, 3rd the toilet started leaking, 4th the plumbing under the front exterior compartment started leaking, 4th the awning light didn't work, 5th the wall paper was pealing off, 6th the shelve in the master bedroom fell off the wall when a cell phone was put on it, 6th the vents were blowing out saw dust, 7th the center island was loose and about to fall over, 8th the drawers on 4 cabinets wouldn't shut properly and open up at random 9th locks on exterior broke 2 keys ring to open, That was just the start When we packed up, I put the slides in and went to hook up my truck. I went to raise the leveling system and the Slides start coming out, I tried for weeks to get the legs up so I could hook to my truck without the slides being stuck out, If I hooked to my truck with the slides out then try to put the slides in, the legs come down. I couldn't move. I emailed, called and complained. Nobody Cared they said they would look at it when I got it to them. Finally they sent me a new board to install and it didn't change, I ended up paying for a campsite at $35 per night for 3 months. Finally I hired a wrecker to strap it and lift it in August, Well on my way back with it, my goal was to bring it straight to camping world but on my way the brakes locked up. So I was on the side of the highway. Luckily I own a Diesel repair company. I had one of my techs come out and get me rolling. But by the time we got rolling again, camping world was closed so I had to bring it to my Shop in Durham and unhook. i put the legs down, landing gear came out and i left it there.I contacted camping world and advised them it was at my yard in Durham if they could send someone to look at it so i could get it to them. Thy didn't, finally in early November I used my wrecker and hooked it to my truck and brought it to Camping world. I dropped it on Saturday. I left a list of issues I found. About a month later, I got a estimate for repairs and a phone call telling me they submitted for warranty but the FREEZE DAMAGE wouldn't be covered...WTH!! FREEZE DAMAGE!! I pulled up the weather report and figured out, it never froze prior to me bringing there, not within 30 days of me bringing it there, so what the hell is the freeze damage and how am I responsible? Then I am told a bunch of stuff that I complained about a week after I bought the unit wasn't covered under the FULL WARRANTY.... Really? How is it possible that I buy a NEW unit and all the issues it has are my responsibility? It is now March, And they still have my unit. I am not a poor man, the money is not the issue, I go out of my way to take care of my customers because 1 customer can gain you ten, if you treat them correct and your honest then they tell there friends. These people are just a disgrace and I plan on doing everything in my power to ensure they loose 100 times more then it costs me. I advised them today that I will pay the bill, but me and all my employees will start protesting every weekend in front of there property and I already advised my lawyer to start the civil process. I hate that it came to this, but its the principle that matters here. $2K worth of repairs on a new unit that cost $60 plus. Well, one way or another that $2K is going to cost them $100K!!! Last month we purchased a new Class B RV from Camping World Raleigh/Garner and wanted to warn others about our experience so they can maybe avoid the same issues we encountered. First of all we don't live in NC and had to travel to NC to pick up the RV even though they listed it on their website as being possible to deliver our RV to your home, however when we inquired about this service they said it was not available. So we scheduled a day/time to drive the 6 hours to get it and when we got to the location, the salesperson who was supposed to be there was not there and nobody really knew what was promised or needed to be done plus we were never told that the salesperson was not going to be there or who to talk with...very unorganized. We are first time RVers with no real experience expect for the research we did on the internet, so we informed the person that was going to do the RV walk through with us that we needed a more detailed walkthrough, but the person who did the walkthough did not know most of the features or operations of our Thor Class B, and just saying just " you can read about it in the manual". Almost every question that was asked did not get answered and the walk though was a waste of time. Also most of the things we noticed that need to be fixed during the walk through never got addressed or repaired. The only thing that Camping World (CW) seemed interested in was getting us to sign tons of papers to try to upsell us with things we did not want or need. We spent more time trying to finalize the transaction than they spent on explaining the functions of the RV. The only thing Camping World seems concerned with was getting us to sign papers, giving us the keys, and getting us off the lot. We had noticed some internet posts stating similar lack of detail and professionalism, but we thought they might have changed because the posts were about a year old...but based on our experience they have the same issues at this location and other locations. During the last month as we were travelling cross country in the RV we stopped at several other CW in different states and at each location they gave us the run around about getting a few of the problems fixed so we will not be buying or recommending CW. Some CW locations would not even look at the RV that CW NC had told us if we ever have any issues we could get them resolved nationwide at any CW. Obviously that promise was not true and not honored at the several Camping Worlds we visited as we crossed the country. We actually called Thor and asked them what is the benefit that Camping World adds to selling their RV because it was more hassle and disappointment than adding value. We actually got better attention from other non Camping World RV companies as we began to visit other Thor authorized dealers that were not CW. Do yourself a favor, if you can buy your RV from a non Camping World location and the price is about the same, avoid CW. CW seems like a good deal prior to the sale, but don't be fooled in order to avoid the poor customer service and lack of attention to detail especially post sale, choose a better RV company. This Camping World experience lacked information and post customer service follow through to make things right. Hope this review of CW helps new RVers at least be prepared to avoid the issues we encountered. read more

I am an authority on retail sales. I am the General Manager of a very high volume Honda dealership in Fayetteville. I recently had my motorhome in need of warranty work. I called the Fayetteville dealership and was told CANT help you too busy!! I explained I had to get my vehicle in as the warranty was expiring in 10 days. sorry still cant help you. I found Garner and hesitated a little because of some reviews I have read. I decided to go anyway and give them the opportunity to help me. I read that the parking was terrible and I guess they recognize that as a potential issue. They had plenty of staff outside more than willing to help me park. They helped me remove my tow car. I was instantly greeted by Michael Reyes from service. What a great concept, greet the customer at their vehicle. He was informative, attentive and very customer friendly. He didn't over promise anything and he shot straight with me. Lets face it there is a lack of available resources to service a motorhome in all states. You know this if you own motor coaches. You have to be patient. Now the staff from my initial call for an appointment till I left was nothing less than pleasurable. I was greeted by no less than 10 associates. My wife and I had our new puppy and they even treated him great. I know I am only on phase one of my experience but if the rest of the service goes this well I will be 100 percent satisfied. When you read these reviews, its important to remember that things often change for the good. I had a sidewall crack in my Full Body Painted 5th Wheel and several members of the forum I belong to stated that they had a similar situation and the Camping World of Raleigh had performed the major fix and matched the paint perfectly. They also said that 3 years had gone by and the repair was still fine. Even though I live in New England, I thought it was worth a trip to Raleigh to get it fixed correctly the first time by a reliable facility. When I called, I was forwarded to Anthony Sanders (Service Director) who allowed me to pick my drop-off appointment, kept me informed with phone calls and pictures during the repair, and worked seamlessly with my insurance company. Even though it was major surgery, the repair took 10 days from start to finish. Basically, all I had to do was drop it off and trek back to New England. The quality of the repair and experience was first class. There's not a hint of a repair. It was obvious that Anthony, Charles (Service Representative) and the collision shop personnel were interested and took pride in the repair work they do. My insurance company even commented how professional and forthright they were to work with. Hats off to Camping World of Raleigh for a truely redictible experience...p read more

We purchased a new 2023 Keystone Montana High Country last November, and one slide-out was broken upon delivery. They picked it up the next day to return it to the shop. Initially, it was the mechanism on the slide-out. They placed a warranty claim with the manufacturer. We had to wait about 5 weeks for it to arrive. Once they replaced it, it still did not work. Second, they said it was the control module for the slide-out, so they replaced that; it still did not work. Third, they said it was the camper frame for the slide-out, so they fixed that, but it is still not working. Then they realized by testing the control module fix (step 2), they re-broke the mechanism on the slide out (step 1) and now have to wait 2-6 weeks again...We had our camper for less than one day, and it has now been 64 days without it and counting. We had planned to spend the holidays in it (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's), and we even had family coming in from out of town to stay in it, and they ended up canceling their trip because of this. This has been a nightmare - they will not communicate and they flat out lie. We got the manufacturer involved, and they said when they called Camping World that Camping World told them they were finishing up and it would be done that day - that was weeks ago. Outstanding! Camping World of Raleigh is the best! Tanner Wright was our service rep and we could not ask for better customer service and repair on our brand new 2017 -274 V nose 31' Forest River Cherokee Travel Trailer. We did not buy our Cherokee there because we had bought our RV at the RV show in Raleigh, NC. The RV dealer we bought our RV from was 3 hours away (Crisp RV in Chocowinity, NC). Because it is far, we were attempting to establish a relationship with a local /reputable RV dealer. Much to our surprise, Bill "Lemon's" (aka Plemmon's) RV would not service us - or anyone else - because we did not buy our RV from them. Our alternative, they said, was to wait 3 months to be serviced - and only at their other site 3 hours from Raleigh located north of Winston-Salem. All in a condescending tone with an attitude. Against Lemon's advice, I called Camping World (Hawley RV). Tanner Wight answered the phone in the service department and had our vehicle in the shop within days and checked by service. We are most grateful for the exceptional customer service and repair we received from Camping World of Raleigh! Thank you again Camping World of Raleigh. I purchased my 2015 Passport from Camping World in Garner and have had an overall positive experience. Terry Jones was my salesman and we are still in touch. I have called him several times while camping with a question and he has always tried to help me. He has also suggested very nice places to go camping. I have taken my camper back for various miscellaneous issues but they were manufacturer issues - not Camping World. The Service Department has been willing to work with me regarding charges when I questioned the cost. The drain line of my refrigerator was kinked when installed causing a leak. After paying for the repair myself (which was out of warranty) I contacted Keystone directly and wrote them a polite letter stating the details and they reimbursed me the full cost of the repair. The only negative I can really say about the Garner Camping World is that nobody in the Service Department returns calls - except for the service manager. read more

I went in to just look around at the mallard small camper for the spring time , Itzak Flores the salesman came up and gave me great customer service. Even though I explained to him I was NOT buying this camper today, he still treated me as if I was buying the $500,000 camper parker in front. I was treated very well and I will be upgrading my camper after speaking with Itzak because he helped me realize what my Needs compared to my Wants are and this really will save me in the long run. He ask me questions about what size truck and if I had a sway bar, He really knows his stuff, I am glad I got him because I feel like I may have just got a salesman looking to sell and not really build a customer base. Had popcorn in the meantime. Salesman, Rodney "Uncle Rah Rah" Ellis was friendly, knowledgeable, and showed great customer service. I told him what my needs were , and he took me to the RVs that would fit our needs. John Reed, Financing guru, got me a great deal and walked me thru the process. I walked away that day with contract in hand. The following day, Guy took me on a walk-thru of how every single feature worked. Between Good Sam and Camping World they have no clue how to maintain or repair RVs and then try and lie their way out of the screw-ups. Take your RV anywhere put here and save your self a messed up job. And as for their CEO standing by his 100% guarantee that is a lie also! When a company quotes a 100% guarantee from its CEO Marcus Lemonis, I assume that would mean something? I have been in customer service for forty-two years and have never had a poorer experience then the one from Mr. Lemonis Camping World / Good Sam, he might want to stop talking about profits on his show on CNBC or he won't have any. read more

We drove 2-1/2 hours to look at a 2023 Thor Outlaw 38MB which they had 2 on the lot that we viewed on there website. We decided on a color on the one we wanted to look at which when we got there Tim (Salesman) had it cleaned up and detailed with the AC running for us to look over. We started from the front and progressed to the back and noticed the floor plan on the 38MB wasn't the same as the 2022 in the garage. But no threat Tim was able to us to view the other model which had the floorplan that set our needs.
