Half the fun of owning a camper is working on your camper. My 2011 Keystone Alpine 3500 RE is my third camper. Although I do enjoy wrenching on my own equipment, there are times we need to take our rig into a shop. My kitchen slide out started extending and retracting crooked on a trip from Ohio back to Georgia. One side was leading the other, both extending and retracting. Rear leveling jacks stopped working as well. I called Camping World in Jacksonville and they got me scheduled in within a couple of days. Being the beginning of the spring camping season, I was pleasantly surprised. I dropped my camper off at Camping World - Jacksonville and gave Brian a tour of the problems. Probably only took twenty minutes. A representative called me within a couple of days with the diagnosis. Welds had failed on the slide-out mechanism. They needed my authorization to make the repairs, which entailed essentially rebuilding, and re-welding brackets on the slide-out mechanism. I got a call within a few days that my camper was ready to be picked up, and that Camping World - Jacksonville had handled all of the claims with my seven-year extended warranty. Upon arriving to pick up my camper, these folks had it plugged in and allowed me to do a complete inspection of the work performed. The technician that did the work and a service manager were present to show me the work that had been done. I was thoroughly impressed with the level of customer service. While doing my inspection, we discovered another small issue. Camping World - Jacksonville suggested that I simply leave the camper, as they needed to order some parts. Two days later, it was fixed and ready for pick-up. The additional work was covered under my extended warranty, which the folks at Camping World - Jacksonville completely handled. Once again, Camping World - Jacksonville had my camper pulled in front of a bay and plugged into power for inspection. All was good. This is the first time I had used Camping World - Jacksonville for service on my camper. I'm a little price sensitive, but even without the warranty, the pricing for Camping World's service was very reasonable. The customer service and attention, follow-up and follow-through were excellent. Keeping their customer informed was excellent. The workmanship of the repairs is excellent. The speed of getting my camper in and our, all repaired was excellent. I will definitely use Camping World - Jacksonville in the future, and I highly recommend them to anyone. read more

I bought an RV trailer here in mid December 2021. 1.I was assured that the dealership would be completing the process for manufacturer warranty. Within 4 days of returning home, at the first rain, I discovered significant leaks in a window and also into a ceiling flush lamp. My local CW in NC immediately attempted to utilize the warranty and repair the leaks, but discovered from the manufacturer that the Jacksonville location had not registered the trailer to me. Despite numerous requests to Jacksonville to register the trailer, or simply return our calls, they just fed me empty promises or misinformation and then ignored us. It finally took me calling the CEOs complaint hotline to get any resolution, which was over 3 weeks after the purchase. 2. I was verbally promised that a scar on the paint of the trailer (that I pointed out at the inspection pre-purchase), which could not be repaired at Jacksonville on a timely basis, would be repaired at my local CW in NC. I was told that the process involved a "we owe" sent from Jacksonville to my local dealer on that very day. Despite numerous requests to Jacksonville to issue the "we owe", or simply return our calls, we were ignored. It finally took calling the CEO complaint hotline to get any resolution, which was 9 weeks after the purchase. I would not do business with the Jacksonville CW, but if you do, be careful that you are either local and can confront them personally to get promises kept, or be prepared to escalate their failures to keep promises to the CW CEO office. (I found the CEO hotline for complaint resolution to be highly efficient and effective, and I have received excellent service from my local NC CW.) read more

After my review I was Contacted here by corporate, I then took the time to email them at their request with the reference number they provided. But it turned out to be another waste of my time as NO ONE has responded to such email I sent nor phone calls from corporate have been returned. No wonder the franchise here does as they please. This CW has very poor cust svc! Drove here 30 miles to get their help on a warranty claim. ASA Electronics said CW is their dealer & we could obtain a new back-up camera & monitor. We really put them out since it wasn't a sale! They seemed so aggravated. ASA spoke to them and explained from A-Z how warranties work. ASA would ship our replacement items & when it arrives, we exchange it. I called 6 straight days to see if it arrived. They still say no but tracking info says its been here 2 weeks! K. Slate in receiving was supposed to call me when it arrived. He stopped answering my calls and told the receptionist he'll call when it arrives. ASA Electronics tracked it and it was delivered on Jan 8 & K Slate signed for it!!! Its now Jan 21. read more

We had another camper we purchased from another Jacksonville Fl dealer 9 months prior that leaked and the damage was extensive, so it was going on for a long time which means it was never inspected. Rude and inconsiderate service adviser I called CW Jacksonville, and was speaking with service adviser Brian Blackmon regarding having warranty work done on my travel trailer. He appeared somewhat helpful and pleasant until he found out that I had not purchased the trailer from CW. That's when he said that he could help me if I had purchased it through CW, but since I had not, it was going to cost me more and quoted me $280 just to look at the problem and file with Jayco to see if they would even cover the damage. Then, when I attempted to negotiate on the price, he simply said "Ok, if that's the way you're going to be" and hung up on me. Bottom line - Camping World is all about Camping World and how much money they can rake in. Customer service or consideration is NOT part of their creed. Stay away. 3 Hours later - Follow up The Service Director for CW Jacksonville called to hear my full story and to apologize for the way things were handled by his staff. He offered to see what he could do about fixing things up . . . but I told him that I had already taken care of that. Shortly after the incident with CW Jacksonville, I called CW Pooler with the same issue and received incredibly good customer service. The service adviser there heard the same story and immediately scheduled me for an appointment in two weeks. No hassles, no problems and all taken care of. Perhaps Jacksonville should take some lessons from the staff at Pooler. read more

I purchased my camper here in 2014 because it's a reputable company and one I thought was good to go. Everything is always peachy and smooth sailing until you need assistance. My camper was recently totaled from a storm. I've contacted the location a number of times over the last month to get assistance with the GAP claim among other required items. The Finance Director or Office refuses to contact me back. I got the GAP company through another Camping World location and I actually had to go to Camping World Headquarters to get the assistance I needed. Hopefully now the claim is good to go. It's ashamed that they won't assist you when you're in real need of assistance. Goes to show, at least, that this Camping World location is more about making the money than assisting their customers. read more

Took newer RV in to get motor replaced on power steps. Told advisor that there was power to the steps but they were stuck in closed position and that it needed a new motor. She said labor would be about 1 hour. After an hour she came back and said the could fix it in about a week because they had to order the motor. I told her I was leaving the next day and she advised that I needed to pay $145 for the diagnostic fee! The diagnosis? "Power running to unit, stuck, needs new motor" Well no kidding Captain Obvious, that is what I said when I brought it in. I said it was unfair to have to pay for someone to simply agree with me - she said well we have to pay the tech something... they had it in the shop for about 1 hour - She said it would be about $875 and done in a week. I got it replaced the next morning at another RV dealer for less than 1/2 that then she went on to day that the tech did a 12 point safety check. (I did not ask for that, why is he further diagnosing for free)? She went on to say that the generator has blowby and the oil is thick... need generator rebuild (just bought the unit from another dealer and checked generator, nothing wrong with it) - she also indicated that there were two holes in the roof and I needed a complete roof replacement (for about $9000) - took to two other RV Dealerships and they said there was nothing wrong with the roof During this time I had also asked them to check the cab dome lights, they billed me $70 for a new fuse (for a light in the back that was working properly) - when I pointed out that they charged me for a fuse that was not needed as they checked the wrong lights, they tried to charge me another $40 for two light bulbs for the cab dome light. (they finally reimbursed the $70) I spoke to customer service about the "diagnosis fee" and two reps agreed with me, but when the service manager and general manager called me back, they refused to reimburse any of the money . I was told that no matter what comes in they charge a diagnosis fee... I asked "so then if I brought in my unit that clearly had a flat tire, and I asked to get a new one installed, you would charge me $145 to tell me the tire was flat... they said we are not reimbursing the money and hung up Although their location is convenient, i will send the extra time and money to go another RV Dealership for service read more

I give Camping World one star, only because the system will not let zero stars appear. I went to the dealership, after looking at the website, to see a Motorhome listed for $79,999.00. Not that the amount should matter, but that amount would help their monthly bottom line. I walked in the front door and a young lady was siting at a desk. She looked at us and just sat there. She then said, "Do you need something?" My first reaction was no, I'm here just to bother you and keep you from doing your nails. But I was nice and said yes ma'am, we are here to look at a motorhome. She pushed a clipboard at us and said you have to fill this out before you can see them. I glanced at the paperwork, it was the name, address, phone, email page. Now normally, I may or may not fill out this a businesses, but I wasn't feeling it today. It's a means of them collecting the contact info and sending thousands of unsolicited information that I really don't need nor want. My response was a polite No. She said, "Well, if you don't fill it out, no one will talk to you." I again said No. She said, "ok, then go ahead and look at them, they're unlocked and no one cares if you look." We did look, and found one that we may have bought. The cost between the 2 we compared was $79,999 and $119,999. Did we buy one today, No. Did anyone ask if we needed assistance, No. Will I return to Camping World and spend $100,000.00. NO!!!! My husband and I found our perfect used RV here at Camping World Jacksonville. I came in by myself with my son and signed the initial contract paperwork and put down a $500 deposit to hold the RV till we could come back and finish the financial part of it when my husband and I got back in town. We could not complete the finance paperwork that day, as my husband works out of town and I was preparing to leave the family to leave on a cruise that weekend. I told my sales person, Kristopher, when the cruise returned the next week we would be back thereafter to complete the paperwork. Kristopher happily agreed--telling us repeatedly that he just wanted to meet his sales quota for the month, so completing the sale before the end of the month was great--he happily took my credit card for the deposit and I signed papers. Kristopher even told us he would put a "Sold!" sign on the RV in the lot, which made us feel even happier and secure in the thought that the RV was ours. So, we departed on our cruise, eager to back to our new RV lifestyle upon our return. Additionally, waiting until after we got back to take possession of the RV would give Kristopher time to fix several items we agreed Camping World would fix, such as a window valance that needed to be reattached and a window that was stuck open. Kristopher never gave us copies of the paperwork on which he agreed to fix these things. However, despite Kristopher's repeated references to his sales quota, we had a generally good experience with him and did not think anything of not receiving copies of some of the paperwork. That was a mistake. After driving around six hours from Miami to finish the finance paperwork when we got back, we discovered that our RV was no longer on the lot. We went inside the dealership to ask where our RV was, only to be told it had been sold--not to us, but to someone else. A lady in finance told us that Camping World puts RVs back up for sale if the buyer does not complete the finance paperwork within three days after putting down a deposit. Kristopher, who knew we would not be completing the paperwork until thirteen days after we put down the deposit, never told us this. Additionally, the lady told us, before the RV goes back on sale, Camping World calls the buyer to confirm that the buyer wants to let the RV go. That did not happen; we were still in town three days after putting down the deposit, and we did not receive any phone calls. The only phone call we received was from Kristopher, shortly after we angrily left Camping World. Kristopher explained that my husband had called Kristopher to say that "we can't afford the RV." This is a lie. He never called Kristopher. So, in addition to selling our RV to someone else, Kristopher lied to me over the phone. Camping World seems to be caught in a web of lies and deception over the RV story; who called whom; and why the RV was sold out from under us.The contradicting lies are only adding to our frustration. I sent an email to the GM at Camping World and he sided with his sales person in saying that it was a misunderstanding and that we should come in to talk about making us a happy customer. No other concern that they broke a contract and crushed a family's dreams who had finally found the perfect RV over a year of looking. This experience has left us with a cautious attitude and no way will we be taking our business to this shady place. If they have so many customer that they can't keep straight who is calling them -then they don't need our business. read more

Brought my trailer there last January to fix the rear break lights. After waiting a week for a service appointment I spent all day at the shop and was told my alternator was bad. I was charged $400 in diagnostic fees. The next day I went to a mechanic to get the alternator replaced and was told it was fine. the mechanic fixed the tail lights too. All it was was a corroded light socket! they deserve 0 stars for this rip-off! read more

I called several local RV dealers asking about them selling my unit on consignment. I selected Camping World in Jacksonville but was very disappointed as they kept my unit a couple of months without selling it. They NEVER called to say how it was going. Never suggested on their own about changing pricing. Never had a suggestion as how to do anything different. If anything happened, I had to initiate it. I offered a $1,000 bonus direct to the salesman if they would promote it more. NOTHING. Don't waste your time here. I think they just wanted mine on the lot to show that they had plenty of inventory. Of course they were probably under pressure to sell their units first. The consignment salesman told me how many units they sell, blah, blah, blah. I will say the personnel are polite, and they have lots of items to fit up your unit, but if you want them to do a consignment, DON'T BOTHER. read more

Be warned. This camping world is the worst dealership and has the worst customer service that I have ever had the displeasure of experiencing. First the sales person was nice but she didn't seem to know anything specific about the trailers she was showing me. She would tell me things like it comes with a starter package. Camping worlds idea of a starter package consists of $35.00 gift card in which I believe she purchased with her own cash after I raised heck about NOT receiving a starter package as promised. When confronted she said she never said that. Second I was told by the sales lady that the unit had options that were specific to my needs. After purchasing the unit, during the initial walk through parts had to be swapped replaced and or modified because I refused to take ownership of the unit because I was lied to or mislead about its options. Third knowing the route to my location in which the trailer was to be delivered was under construction I asked to follow or lead the delivery driver to that location because I knew the safest route and that GPS doesn't get to that location. I stood around waiting on the sales room floor for what felt like an eternity when the sales lady says "Oh are you still here? They left with your trailer about 45 mins ago!" Not a huge deal just a mild annoyance. Fourth upon arrival I was hooking my trailer to take it to the campsite and to my surprise the safety chains have been ground down and rusted through so badly the chains fell apart. I have photos. At this time I'm fuming at all the issues so far. Now 2 weeks later. The refrigerator has malfunctioned but seems to be working again mysteriously. The water pump needs replaced and leaked on the floor and now there is suddenly no water pressure when hooked to city water. I was informed by camping world that if I needed my trailer services under warranty then I should not tell them that I plan to live in it for a year straight because it will void the warranty even though I bought it brand NEW 2 Weeks ago!!! it's been a headache. Even with all these issues they won't send someone out to look at it. Nor will they send me the required water pump so I can just replace the darn thing myself. I will never ever deal with camping world of Jacksonville again. The fit and finish of this Palomino Puma 23fb was not that great. Just little things you notice when you get it home. We happened to visit their parts and accessories store on the same day that a local radio station, WQIK, was doing an on-site promotion. The promotion special events and give-aways were greatly enjoyed, but we were so impressed with the excellent customer service we experience, we had to complement the manager. Everyone we encountered was cheerful and happy to help us find what we needed. At one point, there were four staff members helping us with the operation of one of their accessories. We are members of the Good Sam Club and shopped their clearance items and we saved more than 50% of the normal price. We will definitely return for any additional needs. read more

I brought in my camper with a question about my transmission which sometimes kicks back when decelerating. After holding it for 4 days they called to tell me i needed a new engine. There are no engine symptoms-runs fine-starts every time-no lugging no misfires nothing. Visiting mechanic was not available to answer any questions like what tests have you run to determine this. Oh and they didn't look at the transmission. $200 for the diagnosis and an oil change. read more

I spent the a huge amount of time over the last two days trying to negotiate a price for the rig I wanted. I had to do this by email as I live a few hours away and could not easily get there to look at it. I very carefully saved all of my emails as I wanted everything in writing if I traveled to complete the purchase and it was not what we had agreed. Sure enough, they tried the old bait and switch on me but I caught them before I traveled (probably wanted to avoid a lawsuit). I found what I needed at another Camper World dealer who tried the same thing, but they wanted the business so they found what they had told me they had (but didn't) in the first place. I have now waited months for a call back about my fifthwheel heater. I have been promised a call with a solution several times but they still have failed to follow through. My heat never worked and they have yet to find a solution for me. It will be in the 20s and we and our dogs will be left in freezing temperatures with no heat. I strongly urge you to avoid this store as they will sell you products that don't work and then disregard your requests for help and will leave you stranded. Terrible terrible service. So many other service issues, but leaving us in freezing temperatures without even a phone call for months is beyond heartless. We will struggle through the night but I really hope my tiny 17 year old poodle survives it. read more

My wife and I drove across the state to CWRV Jacksonville, as the one in our home town is less than desirable and has a terrible reputation in the community. We first got a hold of CWRV through internet sales. They responded quickly that they had the make and model RV trailer we were looking for. Then Salesman Jon Cook called us. He was one of the best salesmen we've ever dealt with. My wife works in sales and she was impressed with Jon Cook's knowledge and professionalism. We drove to Jacksonville, met Jon Cook and the finance staff. Finance staff was real low pressure and made it easy for us. Then we met service guru Curly! Curly was a pure professional and walked and talked us through the entire RV trailer and how all the systems worked. He then walked us through the store and helped us pick out the necessities needed to operate a RV trailer, pointed out some nice have things and some items to think about. This is the WORST buying experience I have EVER had! Unfortunately the salesman who I will not name did an excellent job initially. Very knowledgeable with the product and helped us find a camper that we wanted. We signed the paper work that day. We were what you call a laydown! We told them we were ready to buy. We got a great deal. Went into finance to complete the deal and bought every single thing they offered for protection and warranties. I believe in those things so we spent another $8,000 in additional products. Now here's where it went south. We bought alot of add ons that were supposed to be completed at certain times on certain days. I took off 3 different days off work because there was nothing done. No one there communicates. So we wasted valuable time that we could have been working and making money. We also provided the finance office with everything needed to complete the deal on the spot. I went to make my first payment 20 days later and the bank had no record of me. I had not received one call from the finance guy stating they needed the EXACT things I provided at the time of purchase. The finance office NEVER returns calls. NO communication with the customers. I am BEGGING to make my first payment and I cant even do that. Now my first payment is due before the loan is even finalized. I used to run multiple auto franchises simultaneously and oversaw every single aspect as the General Manager. The General Manager here has NEVER reached out. Never apologized. Neither has anyone in management for that matter. They want to hide in their shells and just hope it all goes away. A REAL GM would get involved and do anything he could to help. I love my camper. I WANT my camper. But if I can help anyone else. STAY AWAY from this location. This is the FIRST yelp review I have ever done if that says anything about my experience. Management has no couth when it comes to their customers. They sit behind their computer screens making jokes all day. On January 31, 2018 I took delivery of a new Winnebago motorhome purchased at Camping World Jacksonville. While the sales process was good, the delivery was not. The exterior of the coach was dirty. We had to request additional cleaning. One of the exterior bins had an inch of standing water. The vehicle was theoretically inspected by the three service personnel, including a supervisor, to ensure that all systems worked properly and that there were no defects. When I got the coach home and began to load it, I discovered that the top of the bathroom door was delaminating. The next morning I found that one of the leveling jacks was leaking hydraulic fluid. Today, February 12, I took the coach to a campground for a shakedown. When I connected the city water, water flooded the inside of the coach. There was a leak in the water line under the bunks. Called the service department on the ride down to Florida the service advisor Bama talked to us about the symptoms we were experiencing. He explained our options for repair and was able to fit us in the next day. Upon arrival he was friendly and helpful they were able to fix it and off we went the next day. My fiancé and I bought a 2017 Montana here earlier this month and we had a less than desirable experience. Our original sales person was Henry and he is AMAZING though somehow we got switched to Darlene and we're we're not satisfied with it. On many different occasions we spent 7+ hours at the store doing paper work and waiting for our RV, there was A LOT of miscommunication between our two parties. Calling the store their customer service SUCKS. I'm trying to set up auto pay and can't find who our lender is on our paper work and called their store 8 times yesterday and got NO WHERE. I called the financial department and left Lisa a voice mail and got no call back, spoke to Mary Joe and got no call back and not even Darlene wanted to help me after we gave her our $60,000 sale. AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL AND DISGRACEFUL. I am very disappointed with this store and their team and would not recommend this store to anyone unless they are giving you a steal of a deal!
