UPDATE: I waited over a year before re-visiting and updating this review. As of today, I would absolutely NEVER suggest that anyone use this repair shop. EVER. When my husband and I went out of our way to drive through Lubbock in an attempt to get our RV either fixed or totaled after a year of waiting on an estimate. I naturally sent my husband to go talk to the service manager, Kyle Bovee, so that I would not be arrested for my reaction. Kyle Bovee was extremely friendly to my husband and stated that he was "more than willing" to help us resolve this issue and he was "willing to do whatever it took". We spent 2 days working with our insurance agent, Kyle Bovee and emptying our RV. THE MOMENT WE LEFT TOWN, Kyle Bovee stopped replying, stopped helping and refused to get our insurance company what they needed. In the long run, all he had to do was state that they were unable and ill equipped to perform the work required....he could have worked with a manufacturer to get estimates from them or literally any repair shop that has any large rig capabilities. However, he chose to ignore us and cause over a year of stress and anger. In the end, we ended up having to go through our insurance company just to have them FORCE camping world to work with the manufacturer to get estimates...just to get it totaled. IN ADDITION, they had already accepted the insurance money and were just sitting on it....no communication, no plan to repair...just took the money and let everything sit there. To top it off, they also "misplaced" our motorhome and couldn't find it for over a day. The entire operation is a joke. In total, once we actually got the process moving by having the insurance company force their hands, it took all of 2 weeks to get the RV totaled....after OVER A YEAR. Kyle Bovee didn't even assist with this process and stopped returning the insurance company's call as well. Luckily, someone working under Kyle Bovee was willing to help and actually do what was right. Like I said, I waited over a year to pass before I updated this review to ensure that I still felt the same way...and it still makes me angry. I genuinely hope that Kyle Bovee has been fired and has found his proper home working in fast food or something along those lines. INITIAL REVIEW: I would leave no stars if that was an option. We delivered our motorhome to them just shy of 1 year ago to be repaired...STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED AN ESTIMATE. I have been told over and over that I'll have it in a few days and still nothing. The original service manager left or was fired somewhere in this process and they completely dropped the ball on our unit....to the point where they literally couldn't find it for a few days. They did find it, but only after I got my insurance agent involved who has been trying to work with them directly on my behalf. After this, they tried to tell us that they did not have any insurance or damage information so they needed to start over and get us an "accurate quote". Which I STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED. They are now ghosting both of my and my insurance agent's calls, emails, etc. Even requests to speak with management are going unanswered. I can't wait to be passing through there in a few weeks and surprise them in person. I hope they're ready. read more

1st red flag, they won't show u a rv until u give them a copy of your license.. Salesman was not very knowledgeable on rvs, but he was young and we are seasoned campers. They want to charge $2200 to clean the rv and demonstrate everything. BS!! should be done for free read more

Horrible customer service, i took my brand new keystone Montana to have warranty work done to it. They did the repairs but then damaged it swiping another customers trailer while moving it. They failed to notify me on this and tried to cover it up. After pulling it back out of the shop from fixing the damage they caused, they ripped the rear AC off the roof. Again, failed to notify me, I made a surprise visit to the store and caught them installing a new one. GM said he would add one year full warranty, that was a lie. Will never step foot on that property again. Worthless management!!!!!!!!!! read more

Came to get propane only to be sent from from one place to the next cause no one seemed to know where the propane was located. Then we pull up and there are trash cans all around it and I was told to make a U-turn and back up in a cramped small place only to realize hose was not long enough. Propane tank and hose was not thought about before they installed it. Not enough room for a 32' to back up. They don't have a clean out like all other camping worlds. I will never go back there again. read more

I brought my RV in to be repaired while still under warranty. They have had it for almost a week and haven't even done a diagnostic on it. We've called every day for updates and just today was told there are 7 others waiting to be seen before ours(at least 2-3weeks before they will even do a diagnostic) and then they will submit it to warranty and wait another 2-3 weeks to see if they will cover it. Then another 2-3 weeks for the parts to arrive and start the repair. Camping World in Lubbock says it's not their fault since they fired 3 of their technicians and now they are short staffed. Now they won't even guarantee we'll get it back in time for our prepaid scheduled summer trip. We might get lucky and get it back before end of summer. Avoid this company, they just want to pocket your money and leave you hanging when you really need it. read more

Parts department employee was more concerned with talking football with a co-worker than helping customer. When he finally did ask my husband what he needed, my husband gave him the make/model number of our camper since that is always what they need to know before looking up parts. My husband was wanting to inquire about pricing for replacement awning. This guy was extremely rude & states that you have to provide some number that is on the awning...they can't look up anything by model of camper. He could have handled his response in a much different way. He was totally unprofessional! Giving a one star rating for this is a stretch. I do want to point out that on the sales side of store the employees are very friendly & helpful. read more

It's a shame that rating can not be less than zero. When into this camping world today to discuss our fifth wheel. Was greeted at the door and told the agent what we were there for. He asked us to hang while he went to talk to the sales manager. The manager shouted that he was busy and would be with us shortly. We looked around the store for a few minutes and then returned to the area near the sales office. We could see the fat ass talking to a number of people, talking on the phone and lounging in his oversized chair with his feet on the counter and his hands behind his head. We waited for about15 minutes, now totaling about thirty minutes and finally left. Drove across down to Pharr RV and got serviced promptly and by a number of professional individuals. I recommend staying away from Camping World Lubbock if at all possible. It's a shame that Billy Sims got squeezed out of the RV business. They were good people to deal with. read more

I bought a brand new camper in 2021. I took it back and told them that it smells like sewer and did not think it was vented right. They proceeded to say it was a PTrap. That did not fix the problem. They flat would not check the venting. Here I am 2024 and the vent is not vented. Hmmmm. I guess we will get it fixed by someone that cares. read more

Kyle from the Service Dept was a tremendous help to us. We were having several issues with our 2022 Wolf Pup but we were in Childress TX which was 2 & 1/2 hours away so I wasn't sure if Camping World would help us without an appt. I called Camping World first thing in the morning when they opened and left a message with the service Dept to call me back and see if I should even drive the 2 hours because I wasn't sure about their busy schedule. Kyle called back within an hour and said come on down even tho he was busy. When we got there he was super friendly & polite. He actually fixed our issues. Any question we had, he had an answer. Buy RV here if you don't expect service. I bought one with a damaged window (unknown) and it too a year to get a new window. Service keep my RV 4 months with several issues needing repair or replacement. After 4 months I pick up RV with no repairs accomplished. With numerous issues broke or just not working I chose to offer the dealer to buy back my RV since they advertise to sell them your used RV. They didn't even make an offer, I guess they knew the $100,000.00 Montana 5th Wheel was of no value. I strongly advise hunting another place to purchase or repair an RV. read more

Is there such a thing as snow day in Lubbock?? Everything says open so we went miles out of our way to stop & what do ya know... CLOSED. Couldn't even get into the lot. Parked on the road and called the phone number listed for the location which sent us to a national/corporate line. Paul Palmer was super kind and patient when it was time to sign the paperwork also very funny and great with kids! Tony Martinez was a tremendous help when it came to getting started with a first camper. Tony helped educate me on supplies that we would need and mostly when it came to the importance of purchasing a surge protector! It has already saved our camper after we hired a bad electrician. I can't forget JR Garza was thorough and made everything make sense during the walk through. Camping world has a great group of people! DO NOT BUY FROM THIS CAMPING WORLD of Lubbock. They were wonderful during the purchase, called checked in got us the best deal etc. Then had our brand-new camper at home for less than a week hadn't even used it yet and the awning detached from the fifth wheel bending the polls and sticking out about 4 ft from the fifth wheel, which of course made it unusable. Sent pictures, called and complete silence for almost two weeks they wouldn't even respond. We had to call corporate and file a complaint to even have them return our call, then when they did, they tried to tell us they had been working on it. News to us since they never responded. Said they would send someone local out to remove it. They never showed up. We called Camping World of Anthony Texas who responded gave us advise on how to remove it ourselves and bring it to them for the warranty fixes. So Advice to anyone looking to purchase go somewhere else because if you run into any issues after you sign that paperwork, your on your own!! read more

Sold me a unit with a broken water heater and fender , fender fell off on the road on the way to my campsite (2 days after leaving the lot) , camping world of Lubbock would not fix my water heater under warranty, and I had to pay a technician out of pocket to come out and fix it. I am paying for the part plus the labor and the technicians travel here. read more

HIGHWAY ROBBERY! Stay away from Jim and his service department. After looking at their shop rates sign that said $70.00 minimum labor charge. (forgive me if the number's not totally accurate, but it was seventy-something). I asked them to look at 3 items on my motorhome for repair. We left for a little over an hour when they called us back in to discover they couldn't fix any of the three. THEN they tried to charge me separately, one hour each for the 3 different items at their shop rate of $165.00 per hour... $495.00 + other random fees for simply looking at my coach and then telling me that they agree, "it's broke" and that they couldn't fix! After some argument, Jim discounted the price, but not much. Nowhere near the $70.00 minimum they should've charged. Especially for doing next to nothing. We also spoke with a local customer who was trying to figure out why they charged him so much for a little roof sealant around his vents & A/C's... about $1300.00. That settles it, I've tried to conduct business with Camping World and it's simply not worth it. It seems they don't have the three key components to business success that their leader Marcus Lemonis espouses: People-Product-Process. People: who can't fix something and simply want money for diagnosing what I already knew. Product: none in stock... you can't sell out of an empty cart. Process: the only process I experienced is a "Sales Funnel", where the hapless trusting customer is pushed... only designed to wring money out of. Now I'm probably going to receive a curt response telling me to feel free to email them at CSTeam@campingworld.com.,,, oooh, thanks a lot! How about someone from Camping World send me my money back? After much thought, an not wishing any ill-will on Camping World, I felt a duty to warn other potential suckers. I like stopping in at Camping World as I travel around and it never surprises me that the service is terrible. Lubbock Camping World is no different. They do have a well stocked store which the wife and I enjoyed looking around. However, the sales people are not friendly and not helpful. I was trying to get information about a chair and the sales person kept blowing me off and trying to walk away. When asked if he had any in stock he replied "probably not". After picking out a few items to purchase, there was no one at the register. They had to call for a salesperson over the loud speaker and it still took @ 5 minutes to show up. Overall, the staff is not friendly or helpful. They tend to walk around more than anything else. read more

Although the call was answered promptly, I still did not have my question answered by the parts department. Took my name & number, would call back, over two hours later, no call. I called back, call was answered but had to wait on the parts department because they were really busy....someone came on then put me right back on hold, didn't say a word. Your customer service stinks. It may've taken 10 minutes or less to tell me if you had the part I needed in stock. I've never had any luck with customer service here. read more

The buying process went great. We were shown everything that needed to be shown. Being new to the RV world, we really appreciated it. Once the RV was bought, it was like they had nothing to do with us. I called no less than 7 times and each time left a message. Not a single call back. We've had our RV less than a month and things are breaking down on it left and right. I understand it's used but I spent a lot of money to buy it in the first place. I shouldn't have to worry about things breaking on it in less than a month. Seeing other reviews, I shouldn't have expected anything more. We bought an RV about 6 months ago from camping world and it's been in the shop 5 of those months. The biggest problem was I bought a ford diesel, crappy vehicle. It isn't camping worlds problem or fault that ford is the worst vehicle ever made, but the absolute lack of help or concern after they had my money is a problem. You will be treated like royalty until the buy is finalized and completely forgotten once you walk out the door. I will be trading out of the RV I have for something worth it's cost. read more

Took my rv to be repaired and they gave me a 2500 dollar quote they said my motor, switch, and landing gear all needed to be replaced. Turns out it was just a inline fuse holder I fixed myself for 15 bucks. Then they charged me 800 bucks to put a new convertor on my rv, I went on vacation turns out it needed a new plug on the back where the power plugs in. They're out to make money not take care of you. The reason I figured out the inline fuse holder was bad a mobile rv technician told me to start there. he said there was no way it would all fail at once. On vacation I paid another local mobile rv repair to come out and see if they could figure out my electrical issue since I was having the same problems and the new convertor camping world put on didn't fix my issue. Turns out that was an unneeded waste of money. You guys our ripping people off and should be ashamed of yourselves. I will never do business again with you and will be contacting BBB as well as finding every site humanly possible to leave a negative review and tell my story so other won't be ripped off. read more

Three times I have gone into this store spanning months of time and find no clerk at the register. There are staff that wander through the store, but they see you and look right through you and keep on walking. Been shopping here a year and even bought an RV at Camping World, but their customer service is severely lacking. Last year I even wrote corporate an email and did get a response apologizing because no one came to the register after a 5m wait. And when hey DID come, the lady had to finish scrolling through FaceBook at the register before she looked up and acknowledged anyone. I mentioned to Corp. that they can check video surveillance. Apparently this issue isn't as bad as what I think it is??? Yesterday...same thing...no one at the register and they had to call for help. Better to shop online and just let this store be eventually shut down, or maybe transfer the local managers as they do not know how to manage their staff. read more

I went there because my RV was damaged in a storm needed vent covers website said they were open till 7 needed to see what hung was on mine so I walked outside and going back in they locked the doors while I was still a customer. Only seen one employee wearing a mask during this Covid19 scare while signs are on the door coming in. It all good I will take my business elsewhere. read more

Service department has lost my business. My camper was there for 5 weeks. They called me 3 days after I took it in and told me what was broken based on what I took it in to be repaired. They also gave me a list of other things that needed to be done. I told them I needed prices before I could authorize the repairs. After 2 weeks I started calling every 2 days. I got the same thing repeatedly, "Let me check if we have the price quote. We will call you back." They never called. I kept calling and finally after 33 days they called and said they had the parts. They said they would start on it on Monday and have it ready the same day. So 5 weeks of it just sitting there. I had no problems with the sales or with the store. I love shopping at store, but the service department will never get my business again. read more

We had to bring the trailer back for a couple repairs after taking it home and received amazing service once again- quick and friendly! We highly recommend camping world! read more

Had a virtual visit at up, filled out paperwork for financing and they sold the camper. I don't care if 'it happens all the time' or 'it's available until it's sold', that is not how to do business. They should've told the other customer that it was pending or told us to put a deposit down so this wouldn't happen. It's all about the money though, 0/10 would not recommend read more

Worst experience with any service department I have ever had! We took our unit in on December 5th and I was called in March and told it was finally fixed. Heating was supposed to be repaired roof to be coated wit UV protectant and slid out serviced as recommended. Bill was over 2400.00 ! Picked it up end of April first of may not sure of date. Got it home and slide out was not working properly it was before I took it in could not se that the roof was even washed much less coated . Brought it back next day and waited for a call, finally I called and was told nothing was wrong with the fridge ! Got it home one more time and roof was clean and slide out still not working properly!! Called and called no return call . I am 56 and a farmer,I have done business with hundreds if not thousands of people and companies bought countless tractors, combines ,pickups and spent countless dollars in service departments this was the worst experience that I can remember ever having with any company!! I bought a brand new RV here today, and several hundred dollars worth of accessories. I was disappointed that the manager refused to match pricing on their generators, or to even budge any on the high price they were asking. I needed it pretty soon, so I ended up ordering one from Amazon while I was still in their store. I saved hundreds of dollars. I was also disappointed that after they installed the new hitch on my pickup and connected it to the new trailer, that the tailgate could no longer be opened because it now hits the electric trailer jack. The technician said it was an easy fix, but the manager refused to let the technician perform the simple correction. I checked with other dealers in the area and was told that the error should have been corrected at the dealership by an adjustment to the hitch bolt settings. It's kinda sad that once I signed the purchase paperwork, everything suddenly became my problem before I even left the lot. Don't sign anything until you thoroughly check out every aspect of their installation and make sure every switch, light, drawer, burner, etc is working properly. Also, specify what items you want. For example, watch out for batteries that have low amp hour ratings that will work, but just not very long before they're drained. Their expert who gave me the walkthrough at purchase didn't know how to open the awning, how the refrigerator was actually powered, whether or not the unit was pre-wired for solar, whether there was a way to connect a cable for Internet, etc. Their entire process was very unorganized. First time RV owner. No pressure sales. Went in with my own financing but couldn't get the deal without going through one of their lenders. My advice is wait for the first statement and refinance with your initial financer. Hence the 4 stars. Shopped around and got the best deal here. Saved about 150.00 off a weight distribution hitch and a trailer brake installed, priced it on Amazon too. I can say that I saved 1500.00 off a competitor. The competition had a similar current year model, but didn't offer a factory warranty due to some weird dealer trade. Plus, buying from camping world has a bunch of perks which the competition didn't have. read more

I went to Camping World in Lubbock looking for furnace motor for our vintage Holiday Rambler Imperial. The clerk at the parts desk was extremely helpful. After searching for the proper part he did tell me that his books indicated that my part was "almost obsolete." I told him that the entire RV was almost obsolete. In spite of being a vintage RV, he had the part in stock. He quoted me a price which I considered very reasonable. He then asked if I was a Good Sam member, which I am. He looked up my information and said my membership was due for renewal the following month. If I would allow him to renew my membership that day he could give the motor to me at half price. This was my first trip to Camping World but certainly not my last. I highly recommend Camping World Lubbock with no reservations. read more

I called camper world spoke with manager Jim. He said he would get back with me but its been 3 weeks no call back. My camper still had moisture trapped in the roof because they left it outside uncovered. They knew it had breaks in the top from hail, thats what they had it there for.
