I had an issue that started with an online order so I called the toll-free number and spoke with a rep who was surprisingly delightful and caring! After her research into the matter, she transferred the call to a supervisor who was better equipped to provide assistance with my issue. The supervisor was equally delightful (!) and after deciding it was best dealt with at my local store level, she called a manager at Silverdale. He suggested that I come into the store and talk with any manager on duty, and so I did the next day. Although at first Manager, Summer, seemed skeptical, she took the time to thoroughly research in the problem (looking at my account, calling the manager who had been on duty, checking stock...), and then provided several flexible and positive solutions. The reason I think she was great is because after she inherited my problem, she completely "owned" the issue intent on finding appropriate, workable solutions. She was a joy to work with and I felt she was not only professional, but clearly she enjoys her job, feels respected and appreciated, and highly values the customer. (Note: When her earpiece had fallen out and she thought employees were ignoring her call to help a waiting customer, she laughed at herself recognizing it was her mistake- never once trying to shift the blame. Sure this isn't a big deal, but it represented a characteristic one would want in a supervisor!) I was an occasional Dick's customer previously because of convenience and price, but I am definitely now a LOYAL Dick's customer because of excellent customer service, and while surely Summer epitomizes excellent customer service, I had great, caring service from every employee involved!

A few minutes before closing, we had a few items in our arms that we wanted to buy, when an associate named "Stephen" came up to us and told us "you have to get out." Not that we had to wrap it up and get ready to check out, but specifically that we had to "get out" in the most hostile tone possible. When the forecast hits 80+ it's time to hit the water and Olympic Outdoor Center has multiple…read morelocations and activities to satisfy that need. At the Silverdale location, they've done away with the little mobile truck that would appear during summer months in the waterfront parking lot and now have a permanent booth down the pier. They only offer sit on top style kayaks (and stand up paddleboards) at this location, likely to cater to a more user and family friendly experience. If you've never been kayaking sit on tops are super stable, easy to get in and out of and don't have that feeling of confinement. The downside is you're almost guaranteed to get wet while paddling. In years past they offered recreational style sit inside kayaks at this location (closed tops with adjustable pedals etc.) which is what I was expecting when we arrived and when I asked it sounds like these might still be available in Poulsbo if that's more your jam. First come, first serve, the gals at the booth were super friendly and helpful and they are happy to store your wallet or small bag behind the counter for you. The nice part about the permanent booth is you no longer have to drag your kayak down the beach to the water, it's tied right there at the pier. Reasonable prices for not having to store, load or haul a kayak of your own from home. They also offer a discounted rate for 'military days' similar to a family night or matinee pricing. I didn't see this specifically advertised on the website just posted on the booth so it might be worth a quick walk down the pier to check their current specials. We snagged the $5 off yelp deal and enjoyed a beautiful morning on the water and Olympic Outdoor Center could not have made our experience any easier!

Marc Plum told me they just took in a 2023 that had very little use so I purchased it. Thought they were very helpful but that's where it began. They information they provided was priceless. Devin Crawford spent between an hour and two hours explaining in detail every operation. We even took videos of the information. I learned how little I knew about the operation of a trailer and realized how horrifying it would be without learning all of the systems if I bought from a private seller and maybe other dealers. As busy…read moreas these fellas were, Liam stopped what he was doing to come out to my truck and test my wiring harness and verified my harness worked fine. Went home to figure out my boat trailer lights and forward Liam photos (via email) of my lights as requested. He had me come down and bring my burnt out lights to verify the lights he had in stock would be suitable for my trailer. As they were suitable for what was needed, he blessed me with them for free and told to me to come back for anything else I may need. The world has shifted so much in such a short amount of time, and it's hard to find any type of positive costumer service. Seems like people have made it a habit of just moving cattle through. These guys are amazing and super helpful. I'll be recommending them any chance I get and when the time comes where I want to buy a camper or trailer...
