Bought our RV from here the last months of 2019 and the guy that does the walk thru to show you how and where everything is, couldn't even find the thermostat or how to work the stove. It sat in our driveway for almost a year before we felt comfortable taking it out. Finally went camping and on first night taking shower, water was leaking on bathroom floor. Shower trap was broke!!! And then received a letter from Jayco saying it had 2 recalls, stove top burner could develop a leak and a propane regulator needed to be replaced. So called good old Gander and made appointment to get it done. Well that was in June of 2021 and still sitting there. Have called and went in to check on, they blame it on manufacture. So called them, they also have been calling them while we were on phone but the girl in office will not take any of the calls. Now I'm think I'm going to report to BBB. This is insane!!! It's hard to even give it one star! They are out of their way nice/helpful when they are trying to sell you a RV, after that they couldn't care less. IF you get lucky enough to talk to someone in the service dept. they are rude and act like they are doing you a favor. Pretty sure YOU wouldn't get a paycheck if it wasn't for customers. I am amazed being a business owner myself how you are allowed to get away with this type of service you provide. I recently bought a 2001 holiday Rambler Ambassador. During the sales process, I was made aware that the front leveler was down and that it would be put back in place before It would leave the dealership. It was not. I trusted it would happen and when we drove off the lot, the foot was torn off. This is the first issue. The second issue is the Generator was not functional. I was told that a circuit board was on order for it and when it arrived I would be called to have it replaced at no charge to me. When I got the vehicle home I discovered the propane tank was empty. After filling the tank, I discovered the fuel line to the generator was disconnected. I connected the propane fuel line and the generator started and functioned properly. It was evident to me that the dealership was not familiar with it's mechanical condition. I do not wish to submit a negative review of your establishment but am compelled to do so. I assume you as any company, take customer satisfaction very seriously and at this point I am far from satisfied. read more

I have dealt with Rolling Hill and several other RV Dealership I can tell they all have there issues when it comes to servicing motorhomes. There is a caring group in service and it a shame that they don't produce quality work 100% of the time. They lost a good tech by the name of D. But do have caring people that wont give you Lip service I have dealt with Rick and he always straight forward and Paul a straight shooter as well. I camp all year round and just traded in a 2009 keystone and have dealt with other dealers In the past and have heard just about every sales pitch. Safford RV offered Excellent customer service, knowledgeable sales team, and a finance department that was very helpful. Their prices, and I did my homework, (out of 21 dealerships) I shopped coast to coast), unbeatable, and gave me more for my 2009 trade in. Ron Sobleman and Mike Richards in management were with me from beginning to end, very patient when i looked into both new and used models. Not your typical pushy salesman. Also it's comforting to know they have a A- with the BBB, incase I need to use their Service Dept. In years to come, i trust they will be there. Camping World - Thornburg - Our new Cardinal 5th wheel - RV Dealers Near Me - Thornburg, Virginia

So I know it's not common to see a positive review for RV dealers and I've had my share of less than stellar service, but Gander RV of Thornburg has come through for us really well. We purchased a Forrest River Wildwood Heritage Glen 300BH, January of 2020. During the walk through, which the prep guys were obviously pressured to get through, we found several issues and all were addressed before we left. All were minor fixes; loose plumbing fitting, bent hinges on an interior door, screen popped out on an emergency window. The prep guys did a good job installing my weight distribution hitch. All in all took most of the morning but we were satisfied with the outcome. Due to the restrictions in travel we only got to use the camper twice in 2020. Very happy with the layout compared to previous units we've had. Having the separate bunk room for the kids worked out great. Usually don't find much benefit to outdoor kitchens but managed to make some good use of this one. We did discover one minor and one significant problem. The bathroom has a skylight and the interior trim ring was a little busted where the factory installer got a little over excited with a screw gun. The larger issue involved the main slide. The whole slide room rides along a Teflon block so that as the rams are pushing or pulling the room it has something to "slide" on. Well turns out that block was not secured properly at the factory. A couple of the screws were prying out of the block and catching on the underside of the slide room. Because of the inadequate installation water was also coming in under the room, getting the carpet wet. I was not very concerned about the skylight, figured that was an easy fix. But looking at the slide issue figured the only way they were going to be able to fix it would be to remove the whole slide room. So, we called the service department at Gander RV of Thornburg, made an appointment to drop the unit off. Had to wait about 4 weeks to get it in but I was prepared for that, all the dealers are busy and we were pretty much done for the season. Dropping the trailer off went fine. The service writer was attentive and made sure he understood the issues we wanted addressed. The dealer had the trailer for about a month and as I suspected the whole slide room had to be removed. Upon picking the trailer back up all the issues had been corrected and the slide seems to be working fine. Looking underneath from the outside I can see that the Teflon slide block has been repositioned and better secured. Time will tell if the leaking is repaired but I'm encouraged by Gander RV's thorough write up and explanation of the repair that we should be in good shape. Probably won't know till next year at this point but will update this review once we've done a couple trips. read more

I traded in my Keystone Couger for a Forest River Cardinal used but in excellent shape. The price was fair and I rolled over the existing loan. Thank God I bought the extended warranty which I NEVER do but this rig had hydraulic sliders and they looked expensive to fix. My first loan was with MT Bank and that was who we ended up financing with a $1000 down payment. They said two weeks to get it cleaned and ready. The next week they called my wife and asked for another $2000 down payment. I called back and said nope. Claimed that the bank wanted it but I said not my problem. After I got heated he said he would get it done. Picked it up the next week and signed the new paperwork. The following week got a call from finance. Said we would be getting ANOTHER finance contract this time because the sales manager forgot to include our extended warranty (thousands$) which they had to eat. So I actually got the rig for over $7000 less than originally agreed upon. Good thing we deserved that discount. First summer trip the fridge wont work. Take it back and lose it for over a month. Next summer vaca fridge wont work again. Take it back after Christmas and they keep it unit march. Next summer trip fridge wont work. Take it back again and wait months going back and forth with waiting for Warranty Rep, thought someone else had ordered the parts then wrong parts ordered. Finally they do what I told them to do in the beginning; replace the whole cooling unit now the fridge works. Take it home and put it on our lot. Come out a few weeks later and see the giant gouge in the linoleum in front of the fridge where they had dropped it taking it out. Had to take it back again over last winter to have that fixed. At that time told them that in MI over the holidays the front jacks kept blowing the fuse. Looked at it and said nothing wrong the battery must have been low and the cold temps just caused excessive amp draw. Except it did it again when I was back home in temps in the 70s with full charge. During this time I dealt with Richard man ttimes who is an ***hole. Stacy was nice but very distracted. Steve the "service manager" was near impossible to contact and I only got to his level when I emailed about the floor and I think I mentioned suing them. read more

My husband and I recently purchased an expensive RV from them. Most of the staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and made you feel welcome. There were a few hiccups with the RV; screw in tire, screen door latch broke, and the map light didn't work. After haggling with Robert assistant manager about the screw in tire. We finally received an (I owe you) to have the tire replaced and then they will reimburse us. I understand they probably didn't have a new tire at the facility to replace it. But I also don't believe you should buy an RV that cost over $200,000 and expect to drive home with a screw in the tire and have the maintenance supervisor come over and say the tire is fine to drive. We also purchased the Good Sam elite package coverage, which I recommend to anyone who purchases a new RV. The one thing I was not pleased with is the crew who sprays the solution on the RV to preserve the paint had already left for the day and the General Manager (nice lady) was out their spraying the RV. I give her Kudos for trying to accommodate the customers, but I don't believe it was done completely right. After paying for professionals to spray the solution, that is what we should have received. Gordo the sales associate was EXCELLENT..... He went above and beyond to accommodate us. (Don't let anyone dull your SPARKLE)..... Robert the assistant sales manager needs to remember the customer is the priority and if it wasn't for them there would be no business. The finance manager was great as well. With all that being said, I would recommend them to friends and family. Oh!!! and one more thing please get a BIG AMERICAN FLAG.... That FLAG represents Camping World and people look for it.... I would give the place no stars if I could. Our camper has been in the service department for over a year now for a repair of the refrigerator and a small piece of trim on the window. It was under warranty so thought we would just take it in. Over a year later they have caused more damage than fixed anything. They broke a window, a stabilizer to name just a few and things they broke they used the warranty instead of owning up to them doing it. They have had it longer than what we've owned it for whilst we are still paying for storage and obviously the monthly payments as you all know is not cheap. The only way we get to check up on it is driving for 2 hours so we can speak face to face. They never answer phones or call you back. Read all the RECENT reviews, they are all true. If you buy from here request any warranty to be done elsewhere before you purchase otherwise you will never see your camper for a very long time and get it back worse than what you sent it in. I waited 3 weeks to get RV into the Service dept and after doing so, it sat for more than a month. Apparently a change in Service Managers was the delay (and that's my problem?). Once new SM was on board, I complained about delays, he tried to push the RV through - indicating since I owned a Forrest River RV, parts should have been onhand. They were not. Parts finally come in (ironically on my 3rd visit) - I told Derek that since my RV had been in their shop a few more days wouldn't matter. My husband gets a call the NEXT day indicating RV is ready (installed a motor for a slide out). I waited until Saturday - picked it up. We are stopped at a RR crossing and a gentleman called out we had something dragging under the RV - to my utter SHOCK, the entire underbelly of my RV was hanging out - heat vent, wires, etc. Apparently Ron W cut open the underlining of the RV and FORGOT to put in back together!!! My only assumption is this poor guy was being pressured to "hurry". So moral of this long story - don't take your RV to Gander RV - I've heard General RV is privately owned and have hired the best RV mechanics....End of story - pulled RV to another shop, had it fixed and will be sending Gander a bill to finish the job they couldn't! Wished I had checked out the reviews before taking RV here - lesson learned! read more

The employees here have low morality. The work that they do are half done. We bought a RV that is almost $200K here at the Rally w/o knowing about this location until the service is needed. From the front desk who does not know much to answer your questions, to the mechanics who does not do the work right the first time. I would not recommend this RV dealership in the very least. My story in a nutshell. I saw a used Roadtrek for sale and called about it. The online photos were good and the price was also good. On route the see the vehicle the next day, which is a 3-hour drive from my home, I received a call from the salesman, Don, that it was being sold at this very moment. Ok, that happens. After going back home, I looked online, and I see that the vehicle is showing it is still available, but now it is $5,000 more (on both their website and their listing on RVTrader). I used the chat function and asked if the Roadtrek is still available. And wow, now it is available for $5,000 more, whereas it was supposedly sold just hour ago. I realize that is how they do business, and I would not trust them with any purchase. read more

Called and set up an appoint to bring my Airstream in for warranty work and spring start up. On the day of the appoint, they informed me they can't get to my Airstream for at least 2 weeks. Why would they set up an appointment for a specific date and knowing full well they can't even look at for another 2 weeks...wtf??? Flashing back to summer of 2014 when I had an Airstream Interstate in for service. They left my Insterstate in the parking lot for 2 full weeks and when I called to check on it I was told they completely forgot about my Interstate. No apologies from the service department. They know they are only Airstream service and dealer in the DC metro area and it shows in their attitude. Back to the current time - As of this post, I have left two messages and none have been returned. To say I am disappointed is like saying ISIS is not all that bad. They have a completely new staff from my visit in 2014. The new staff was brought in to turn the service dept around along with new sales staff to turn the sales dept around. All of these new staff are no different from the ones they replaced. The same attitude and the same sorry state of operation persisted. Nothing changed. Never again will I buy another Airstream unless I move to an area where the dealer is much more competent and responsive. Its a shame for Airstream as I love Airstream and this is the second Airstream product I bought in the last 5 years. read more

I purchased my 7th RV from Safford and, oh, what a mistake that was. Their service is atrocious. My brand new coach has spent over 100 days in the shop since I purchased it and is still disabled and completely unusable. Even when presented with pictures, Safford will deny that problems exist. They will often cause new problems on the rare occasion that you can actually get them to try to rectify an existing problem. On the last trip in, they damaged the fresh water lines and I can no longer use my coach because of the leaks they created and refuse to address. My CR-V has had to go back multiple times to be worked on because they made such a mess installing the towing hardware. They misconfigured the braking system, which resulted in two of the tires on my brand new car being damaged to the point of having to be replaced when it caused the brakes to lock up. I'm now stuck in lawsuit hell because they have left me with an almost $200,000 camper that I have to make payments on, but cannot use. I have rarely dealt with a company with such low standards and such a complete and total disregard for its customers. They are disreputable people who operate a very shady business. read more

I was looking for a used travel trailer and saw one on their website which would fit our needs and budget. I called and spoke with one of the salesman. I specifically asked about the condition of the travel trailer, if there were any soft spots in the floor and if the interior unit was clean. The salesman said that the unit was very clean, no soft spots and in great condition. I explained that I needed a camper that did not need any work. I do not have any area where I could complete any repairs, but that normal cleaning was fine. My wife and I drove with our 2 small kids almost 2 hours to see this camper. With everything that was said about the camper, I had every intention of buying the camper for the priced agreed upon. When we got to Saffords, we were waiting for our salesman, when another came up to us and asked if we needed help. I stated that we were waiting for someone, he immediately pulled his hand back and walked away. Once our salesman came over, he walked us to the camper. I should have known this camper was going to be in rough shape when he stated "we were going to wholesale this out until you called". Then they had parked the camper in a muddy field. As soon as I walked in, I could tell this camper was in fait condition. He immediately walked to the back and stated "Wow, there is a soft spot in the floor back here" The queen bed was filthy, numerous moldings were hanging down and it appeared to have water damage. I asked all of these questions when we spoke over the phone. We looked at another camper, but the awning was trashed and they were unwilling to fix it. Over the course of the past month, I spoke with no less than 20 different RV dealers. Everyone was very upfront with the condition of the camper and if it did have any soft spots in the floor, except for Safford RV. I wasted a whole day driving down and back just to see a camper in fair condition, that this salesmen knew I would not buy. Buyer beware. There is no reason to lie about something, just to get someone in the door. If I thought it would matter, I would call and speak with the manager, but they never made an effort to come out and speak with me while I was there. read more

As a follow up to my previous review., these folks have not improved thier performance. It takes more than 45 days to get an appointment for warranty repairs. In two and a half years my RV has been down for service more than 90 days, that's three months of payments. I realize that CW doesn't make the units, but they are responsible for providing customer service and they fall very short. My only recorse is to NEVER , ever set foot in ANY CW facility ever again. Additionally, I will not renew my ten year membership in Good Sam. When Camping World bought up all of the local dealerships, customer service went into the toilet. read more

Moreover, when you can finally reach a manager (which takes call after call) they are rude and don't have the time of day for you. Mike (salesman) would forget what we even talked about. When they sent us a deal, the numbers didn't add up and they increased the price of the unit 10,000 from what was advertised. When I brought that up, Mike said "Noah (manager) is very honest." Since that was his defense I can speculate that he wasn't being honest and trying to pull the wool over our eyes. Call after call and no one can explain the deal. I recently went to the RV show in Dulles and found my perfect camper. I wasn't ready to buy, but at least I found what I was looking for. However, a salesman from Camping World in Fredericksburg would not take no for an answer. So, we filled out the paperwork and waited. The salesman came back and said we were all set. We next met with a finance rep who also agreed he could get financing on the terms we discussed. He said he would get the deal done even if they had to take a loss on the camper. This was on Sunday and he said I'd hear from him on Monday or Tuesday. Instead, I heard from the Camping World in Manassas and they wanted to know if I had secured my own loan so I had to explain that they were to secure financing under the terms we agreed on. I ended up speaking to the sales person and the finance guy from Fredericksburg and they could not get financing under the terms that I wanted, just as I knew they wouldn't be able to. I reminded them that we signed the papers and they agreed to the terms $500 down, monthly payments in the $350 range. Instead, the best they could offer was $5,000 down and almost $700 per month payment. I hate to give them a bad review because I like the Frederickburg Camping World and I own a camper that I bought from then Safford RV before Camping World bought it, but the bottom line is, we all knew they couldn't get the financing, but they lied saying they could and then failed to uphold their end of a handshake and written agreement. read more

There are several pieces of good news about the new Campers World in Thornburg. 1st they bought the Safford RV shop that had a poor reputation in many RV circles. 2nd they really improved the parts and supply floor. There is a much improved selection. 3rd the two ladies at the front desk were very nice and friendly. Unfortunately there are also some challenges. We arrived shortly after they opened, around 11:20 on Sunday. We told them our friends were just starting to shop for an RV. We were assigned Paul as a salesman. He was very nice and showed them 6 or 7 different RVs and explained some of the advantages of the coaches. He then received a call from the sales manager to come back in. He said he would send someone back out if anyone was available. After a while when no one came out, I went in to see if anyone was available. I was met by Dan, the Sales Manager, who very politely informed me that they were busy and if our friends wanted to see more Motorhomes they should consider going to an RV Show. He offered that if my friends were ready to buy today, he would put a salesman with them, otherwise they could come back sometime during the week when they weren't busy. My friends were very disappointed and asked if this is normal in the camping industry. I understand the sales manager is focused on sales but I don't think turning new customers away is the way to promote sales. Being an avid RV fan, I hope Campers World Thornburg is successful and to be successful, I hope the attitude toward new buyers changes. read more

Just left the facility as we went today to get some replacement compartment thumb locks. Didn't realize there was a variety of sizes so I asked the Staff Member if he could look up the part size for my RV. He responded with "I'm sorry, we don't look up parts on Sunday's!!" UM! Are you serious?! "Yes, Ma'am!" Well then......I'll just take my Sunday business elsewhere! As a matter of fact, I'll take my every day of the week business elsewhere. Do yourself a favor....go somewhere else. A frustrating, horrible experience! The sales person will promise you anything and after the deal is signed, no one cares - even the general manager. When issues were brought to the attention of the general manager, he commented that "this was a service provided by your salesperson!" Yes, the sales person that represents your dealership! The only thing that they seem to care about is closing the deal within their monthly/quarterly deadlines for their personal income incentives. The process was a debacle from the time that the deal was signed to the end. (dates were constantly changed; necessary paperwork was not filed; delivery unplanned/not communicated; etc.) We wasted countless hours and had it not been for a gentleman named Chance who works at the dealership (and was unfortunately burdened due to the incompetency of the sales person and dealership management,) nothing that they committed to would have been delivered. Chance had to engage a third party (who has no relationship to the dealership) to finalize the removal/delivery. We can't thank Chance enough for going above and beyond to satisfy commitments that the sales person initiated and general management apparently had no intention of honoring. Avoid the headaches...go somewhere else. read more

I visited Camping World with my husband this afternoon after deciding to purchase an rv. We weren't sure exactly what kind we wanted (class c, travel trailer, fifth wheel) and figured we'd go look at a few, find out the pros and cons of each, and make an informed decision. When I walked in i was given a card to full out, specifying what I was looking for. The sales girl didn't take or look at the card, asked what kind of monthly payment I could afford and if I'm planning to buy today. I said no, I'm in the preliminary stage and gathering information. She said "so there's nothing I can do to get you to buy today. A Saturday." I said no. She got up, walked away and came back with a manager. He sat down and said Saturday is their busy day and she can show me a few things, but won't be spending all day with me, because they work in commission. Told me to come back anytime, Monday thru Friday. Mind you I'd been in the store MAYBE 5 minutes at this point. So she shows me a class c, says they break down a lot and she'd recommend a travel trailer. Cool. That's fine. Shows me 2 of those, and mentioned 4 times (!!) they work on commission, and most places won't show you anything if you're not buying that day! If you know exactly what you want and are ready to buy it RIGHT NOW, TODAY, go to camping world. Have questions and expect to approach this as you would the purchase of a house or car? Nope! They don't have time for you. Move along. I have a better idea of what I want now, but I certainly won't be buying it from them! read more

Bought a camper here after being extremely pressured by Sales person, Damon. He stated that we wouldn't be able to keep the offer they quoted us if we didn't give him our drivers license while we thought about it over lunch. He was very insistent about holding on to our license even after telling him it made us uncomfortable being that we're both LEOs (I can imagine this would make ANY person uncomfortable). Not to mention this practice is very unprofessional and unethical. Looking back we never should have agreed to that. We also were lied to about whether or not our vehicle would be able to comfortably tow the camper and ended up having to buy a second vehicle later on. As first time travel trailer / RV owners, our experience was disappointing to say the least. Our camper is already falling apart inside and we wish more than anything we would have not allowed someone to pressure us into buying something so quickly. These people definitely don't have the customers best interests at heart. Please go look somewhere else when purchasing your RV. read more

After meeting with Dan, we came to an agreement and started on the paperwork. While doing this paperwork, we heard for the first time, the charge of $695 for inspection. I would have thought it would have been inspected before putting up FOR SALE. Upon questioning it, I was told it was 102 point inspection and would take about 2 hours, going over everything with us. We made an appointment, to pick RV up, on Thursday, June 2nd,at 11:00 a.m., and to also do inspection. RV would have been cleaned thoroughly, and disgusting mattress, would be REMOVED. We arrived at the appointed time and met with Bill, who said he would be doing orientation. As he proceeded to go around the outside of the RV, I commented to him, that it was suppose to have been washed. It looked like a water hose had been sprayed over it. Awning WAS NOT open. When he opened it, it was full of twigs and leaves. It was quite evident that it had NOT been opened nor attempted to clean it. It looked as if it had not been opened in years. He said they would get to it. Also, the cover over propane tanks was practically black. Again, not cleaned. Then we went inside. As Bill was talking to us, I'm checking things out. Mattress is still on bed. We asked Bill, to please remove it. He said it would be taken care of. Upon opening the refrigerator, I was SHOCKED. Again, it had not been cleaned. Mold and mildew all inside. Whomever was suppose to clean this RV, failed miserably. After the orientation, which took 30-40 minutes, I asked Bill about the 102 point inspection. He had no idea what I was talking about. The inspection sheet was on the dinette table and had already been checked off. Nothing was done in our presence. I'm convinced, after seeing the sloppy clean up job, that nothing was actually looked at. For this, we paid $695. Bill asked us to go back into showroom and wait as trailer hitch was put on our vehicle and cleaning of RV, was done. We waited for 2 HOURS. During this time, not the first person, asked us if we needed anything, apologized for the wait, or acknowledged we were there. It was like we signed the papers, and that's all you cared about. Both managers were sitting less than 5 feet from us. On computers, eating at their desks, etc. After this 2 hour wait, the man putting on the trailer hitch, brought the keys to us and said we were good to go. RV was locked up, so did not go back inside. Bill did meet us outside, and said awning was to moldy and mildewed and was next to impossible to get off. No surprise there. I was very disappointed in your service department and your management staff. I want to feel that my business is appreciated and I absolutely DID NOT. I believe your focus was more on new RV's and higher priced ones. We have two daughters, and they both have RV'S. Our daughter and her husband, bought a new one from you several years ago. At some point, they're going to be getting a newer one. From you? Who can say. I won't be recommending you, based on this one experience. I feel we were taken advantage of. The inspection fee was a rip off. OH, by the way. The mattress we asked to be removed at least 4-5 times? Imagine my surprise when I got home and it was still in the RV. If it wasn't so far, I would have taken it back to you, but now, we have to get rid of it. AND, the awning? My husband got it looking like a new one with a little scrubbing and elbow grease. We were NEVER told THANK YOU or we appreciate your business and come back and see us. Evidently, you're doing so well., you don't need referrals. As, for the free starter kit. I have had the WORST experience with Gander and will be writing about it everywhere I can! First, I live two hours from the Thornsburg store. Get there to have to wait almost an hour to get my appointment rolling. Then sign the papers on a Saturday in the end of April. I am told the RV will be delivered Sunday. After being jerked around... the RV is delivered almost 3 weeks after signing the papers. With no battery so I am unable to check it out (honestly think it wasn't even the RV I walked through). To then get inside after 24 hrs on charge to have the breaker box to start smoking and everything shut off. Once I am able to check out the inside of the RV to find cuts in almost ALL of our seats! Then after a week between phone calls bc everyone wanted me to come out of my pocket to fix the problems and go through Good Sam! Uurrrgh & I've never even used and barely have seen the RV I was about to have to make a payment on! Someone finally puts me in touch with Heather (the manager) after saying I will be returning this ASAP! Heather did get someone to come and fix the breaker box, which is another thing I was LIED to, living far away is NOooooo problem and won't cost anything extra when you need service... LIES! Since, May 26th, I have been in contact with Heather, she said the seats were an easy fix and it would take 8 weeks to have them sent..... STILL ARE NOT HERE and no answer from Heather in the last two months! I am just hoping not everyone goes through this horrendous service when it comes to Gander or have this kind of never ending situation happen to them! read more

This is a continuance of my review from 11/15/2017. Dan Kinsner called me, the General Manager and asked my view of what happened. He said he would speak to everyone else and get back with me. Two weeks later, I had to contact him to find out that, naturally, since talking to his employees they felt everything was a misunderstanding and miscommunication. I guess so, if he only talked to his employees and not the people that were with me too. why Yelp didn't publish this the first time is a mystery. This is valuable information about their service department - BEWARE! As the other reviewers noted, the service department is a rip off. The charge for work (a lot) either done incorrectly or not needed at all. I have filed a BBB claim against them as they have refused to respond to my emails and phone calls. They charged $650 to fix my ac unit in Airstream, but when we picked it up and went camping at beach and turned on ac, the problem of leaking inside was worse than before. They told me to get it fixed locally where we were camped and they would pay - they have not. They refuse to respond to me. Have had the 2002 unit for 1.5 years and neither furnace nor ac have worked. Paid $600 "after market fee" for what was clearly explained to me at the time of purchase as a guarantee that all systems worked - no signed documentation of that promise (lesson learned). We bought in January, and took possession from dealer in March. First camping trip in May, furnace did not work. Returned for service for which they wanted to charge over $500. Argued that I already paid for working system at purchase and refused to pay. They finally relented. Took camper for 1st summer camping at beach and AC dripped inside camper. Did not return for service immediately but did inform them of the ac problem when in fall we found that, guess what, furnace didn't work! They said something was loose on furnace board and "fixed" again; also paid at that time to winterize and to have ac shroud replaced which they said was cracked after their "courtesy roof inspection". Went camping in May again, guess what - furnace didn't work! All three times, exact same symptoms. Took it back to have furnace fixed again and asked them to check out and fix ac problem of leaking inside unit. Told them that we were pretty sure the leak was coming from inside condensation pan (we took all of the inside covers off ourselves to trace leak.) Paid $650 for a fixed ac unit - they said they replaced "pan". Also paid another $72.00 for the 3rd furnace fix (which I totally missed on the bill as we were in shock over ac cost!) Took camper out 2 weeks later to beach and AC unit leaked inside even worse than before the fix! Had local service call (which Safford told us over the phone they would pay for) and he discovered that they replaced the pan the ac sits in, not the condensation coil pan which is the likely problem. So, they fixed something that probably didn't need fixing and wasn't the cause of the problem and charged us a ton of money. Sent them the NC invoice and pictures of leak, and guess what, no response at all. What other conclusion can I come to except that they are dishonest and ripping customers off. read more

Since purchasing my RV last May we have had a few issues, which wouldn't be a big deal except for the run around we get every time we need something fixed... we bought an extended warranty but they still expect us to pay the hourly rate ($145) to diagnose the problem.. I have already identified the problem to them (cracked leaking pipe, it took me less than 30 seconds to find the crack) Then they are telling me it may not be covered in my warranty and it may not be fixed this week (was monday) This place is a rip off and a joke! The salesman do a wonderful job getting you in the RV, but after that it is down hill quickly... We won't be back and will 1 review every where we can and blast them on social media... CANNOT recommend this place, it started with the deal at the RV show 1 year ago, they had a salesman brought in for the show that made promises he forgot to tell Safford about, ChaChing, the Thor Plazzo MH itself has now been named the rolling turd... First trip back, ice maker broken / water pump not working properly / generator didn't start, did they inspect this thing ? Second trip back, generator wouldn't start, ice maker didn't work, water pump didn't work correctly, shower leaked / toilet loose, passenger seat broken, third trip, getting the picture yet PLUS the drivers side slide was broken wouldn't go in or out properly, NOW wait... Called to check on the progress and was told it was ready, from DC area with traffic it was a 2 hour drive, Not ready!!!!! 1month to fix the slide out, there has been many other things broken and times back to Safford I'm just to tired to list them, It's now time... Made an appointment to take the Rv in for service, absolutely made it clear we were leaving in 8 days for a 4 week trip, called the 2 days before we are leaving to arrange pickup...... NOT EVEN BEEN PULLED IN THE SHOP... FFFFFFFF THIS read more
