I just had a Chapis breakfast burrito from Campos this morning and it was absolutely delicious. The eggs were fluffy and the bacon was nice and crispy. It comes with potatoes and cheese and everything was just the perfect combination. I appreciate the price point. It was $11 compared to a lot of breakfast burritos from other restaurants that are $15 or more. It was huge. I could only eat half so I have breakfast for tomorrow. It comes with your choice of meat. I forgot to take a picture but believe me it is well worth it. This location also has a great taco Tuesday deal. three soft tacos your choice of meat it comes with rice and beans and a beverage. Can I give it a zero?. This was the worst Mexican food I have ever had. The tacos were burnt to a crisp. Inedible and everything else had so much salt on it, it was also inedible. But since I was craving salt I ordered some chips and Guac. Guess what.. the chips had no salt on them but the guac more than made up for it. Nasty nasty nasty. I had a coworker try some just to make sure I wasnt crazy. Not the Tacos those were obviously ruined. He agreed with me that there was a very large amount of salt in everything. Beans, rice, guac. The Campos on Pico has been my go to place. They have never done me wrong in 30 years, but I was in a hussy on grub hub and did not check. I hate writing this review because I've been coming here since they opened back in the 90's and loved Campos. Moved back to the area a few months ago and it's evident the quality isn't what it used to be. The tacos are still good, so is the salsa but the quesadilla, nachos, and torta has significantly dropped in quality. You no longer get a ton of meat, beans, cheese. On top of all this, prices are ridiculously high. Their large burritos are like $15 now. Even Tito's which has become a rip off joint since they sold doesn't cost as much. That said, I'd pay $20 if it meant the quality was as good as it was 5 years ago. Please improve, I love Campos and want to still be a customer. read more

A long time coming I forgot to write my review regarding this location. It was like day and night compared to the location I visited near Beverly Hills. The salsa was old and sour it was disgusting. I couldn't even finish the food I threw it out. It was such a disappointment. I thought I would get the same taste and deliciousness like I did previous at the other location. I tried this place for the first time today and ordered a ground beef hard shell taco (which included lettuce, salsa, and cheese) and nachos, while my daughter tried the Chile Relleno. I noticed the negative reviews only after visiting, but honestly, I believe everyone has different tastes, and I'd recommend trying this spot for yourself! I absolutely loved the taco--it was incredibly flavorful and big, larger than a typical taco. I can eat 3 regular tacos, I'd say I could eat maybe two of these tacos. I regret only ordering one since I also got the super nachos and did not want to over do it, I could've saved my nachos for later lol, which were absolutely delicious as well! The enchilada sauce on top of the nachos were a great touch. The chips on the side were amazing--they tasted homemade (though I'm not sure if they are). I had to stop myself from eating too many because I was getting full and didn't want to overeat! My daughter enjoyed her relleno as well. We'll definitely be back! If I could give this place ZERO I would. I've ate here before and always get the ground beef tacos. I dont know what happened today. I order two ground beef burritos and one taco and I have one WORD DISGUSTING GREASE and you should be ashamed if you call this ground beef. This was far from ground beef. It was so GREASY that our dinner was not edible to say the least. 50 dollars of food in the trash with a upset stomach on top of it. Particularly good burritos, tostadas, and fresh salsas and guacamole, and I've never had any concerns or complaints about any of the food items I've received. Restaurant is clean and has a large sitting area in an adjacent dining area. I've been a bit disappointed by the service every time I've stopped. Staff is nice and service is easy, with a few tables and salsa bar inside. Ordered the Macho Wet Burrito with enchilada sauce (way too saucy) & Fried fish (which is massive and intimidating I might say). Overall, just okay. I've been eating Campos Tacos food since I was a teenager - for 40 years, starting with the original one in Santa Monica. My go-to favorites are their hard shell turkey tacos, (and you can't get just one), and avocado burrito, (all the vegetarian burritos are great and their refried beans delish). My mother used to love the all beef burrito, which was a type of tender stewed beef in a red sauce. Unbelievable in today's world that they still give you a free order tortilla chips, (while 95% of other places charge extra, (Chipotle, , etc.). The "free" salsas, are delish and still the same fresh authentic recipe. I've been the co-owner of a Ventura Cnty fine dining restaurant, a foodie and very picky about my Mexican food. (Btw, A thumbs down to Ticos Tacos, unless you've lost your tastebuds. Upon moving back to the westside, I was excited about returning. I was shocked at the price increase and received a 'dried-out-bean' and cheese burrito. The beans had obviously been sitting out all day and not been replenished with a fresh batch. The meat in the two hard shell tacos was inconsistent & tasteless. One taco had more of a ground beef regurgitated consistency, while the other was a mushy/stringy concoction of who knows what. The red tomato salsa was also lacking & watered down. A disappointing culinary experience & waste of money.) I also appreciate the friendliness of the staff at Campos Famous Burritos aka Campos Tacos. After all these years, they still take pride in what they serve. I really like this place because it's restaurant quality at street vendor pricing. It has become the neighborhood taco spot for me and my boyfriend. Small tacos start at $2. Also it has pickup on DoorDash. The menu includes al pastor, asada, cabeza, and more. Pros: good location, great price, delicious lengua, comes with chips and salsa. Cons: the parking lot is really small (but hasn't been a problem with covid shutting down dining in) So we keep coming back because it's a good value for the west side and it has good quality. I don't know if Campos Tacos (at least this location) is worthy of the worst burritos in L.A. award, but it's pretty darn close. Indeed, the burrito was no bueno. Soggy, browning lettuce, grey meat, this is one to avoid at all costs. The meat for sure was unmarinated, and I've seen this color before. I'm lucky I didn't get food poisoning. The whole thing can be described as a garbage heap of rotting leftover Mexican curdle stew, but wrapped in a Luke-warm tortilla, instead of a plastic bag. No one should attempt to eat this regardless. Go somewhere else! Trust me! read more
