    Chicken enchiladas
    Linda P.

This place is very deceiving from the outside, but don't let that fool you--the food is authentic Mexican and absolutely worth stopping for. My only real complaint is the guacamole. I wish they wouldn't add lettuce to it just to make it look like there's more than there actually is, and please don't add the flour chips on top--it really takes away from the presentation. That said, the chicken enchiladas are my absolute favorite and the main reason I keep coming back. The service is great and very accommodating; if you're not happy with something, they genuinely try to fix it, which I really appreciate. I'm honestly confused by the mixed reviews because if you're looking specifically for great chicken enchiladas, this is the place to go. The beans are a bit pasty and could really benefit from a little milk to thin them out. As for the Spanish rice, if vegetables are going to be added, they should be mixed in during the cooking process--otherwise, it's better not to add them at all. Overall, solid food, great service, and definitely worth a visit despite a few small tweaks that could make it even better.

Great place for some authentic Mexican food with handmade corn tortillas, tasty margaritas, and delicious entrees! The decor has an old school feel to it that I'm guessing mimics older houses in Mexico. Besides having to pay for a second basket of chips ( which we passed on because we got the queso fundido dip) everything was pretty good!

This place is the best! The fresh tortillas are the phenomenal!! The service was wonderful and the ambiance is old school in a very good way!

Paco's tacos is a neighborhood Mexican restaurant that's been at this location for as long as I can remember as I held my award banquets here when I was coaching soccer many years ago. Fairly traditional menu with à la cart and combination plates in a warm and friendly environment where the tortillas are being handmade. Surrounded by lots of folk art, this Cantina offers good straightforward, Mexican fare. As someone who is gluten intolerant, I caution those who might want to get enchiladas because the Ranchero sauce has flour in it so I got the enchiladas without the ranchero sauce and uses the salsa.

All these years living right near Paco's Tacos and I'm kicking myself for never trying this spot until just now. Paco's Tacos has everything I want in a Mexican restaurant - from the decor, to the freshly made flour tortillas you can see being made in the front, delicious margaritas, and chips and salsa. I absolutely loved it. Service is friendly and attentive but mostly its just a great vibe in there. Fun for groups and families, its lively but unpretentious and amazing!

I've been eating Tito's Tacos for about 50 years! Always good food for a fair price. I once ate 25 tacos!

Wow this place is awesome! Been looking for killer crispy tacos for a while. They have a few old ladies making tortillas from scratch. The Supermex burrito is AT LEAST 2 meals. I had 3 crispy tacos: Carne Asada, Shredded beef and cochinita pibil (incredible pork in a sweet sauce). The latter is an old Yucatán recipe. Get it! The restaurant has incredible ambiance. Fun, spacious. All decorated for Halloween now. And the service is fantastic. Really friendly and they checked on us often. This is our new place!!

Ambiance is fun. Seasonal decor is a great touch. Love the aquariums.

Does Paco's sell tortillas (by the dozen, etc.)? If so, corn, flour or both? Thank you.

They sell both, but it is going to be a little wait for Flour.

Does this restaurant cook with lard or use lard in any of their dishes?

I'm not really sure. But best Mexican food hands down

As of march 15 2021 do they take reservations for their patio and do they have heaters?

It doesn't seem like they take reservations but depending on your party size they may, I would recommend just calling and asking. They do have at least heaters in the outside seating area that keep the area at a comfortable temperature.

Now when you pull up originally you might think, "am I in the right place" but once you park and get into the courtyard, it is LOVELY! Amazing ambience! There is a bocce set up, string lights. It is a little slice of oasis in the middle of the fashion district. The restaurant itself - beautiful. I couldn't ask for more. Absolutely perfect in my book. Beautiful plants hanging, perfect Spanish music in the background (any place playing Natalia LaFourcade is a win). The drinks were great! I had the jungle bird which was fun. Food was so good too. The whipped beans are the star! We had the guacamole which was tasty, great tostadas with it. The arepas were good but the pork belly was a little too fatty (I know pork belly is always fatty) to the point the fat muted the flavored for the arepa a bit, but still delicious. The empanadas were great and as someone who lived in South America and ate empanadas every day, these really took me back to my Paraguay days. The squash blossoms were light and perfectly fried. Unfortunately my friends had gone to Funke the night before so they were comparing the squash blossoms and Funke won out, but they still liked Dama's! Small plates were enough for the 3 of us. The service was quick and attentive. Parking was easy for us. I will definitely be back!

The staff are lovely humans who really seem to care about their customers. We have some faves on the menu. The bean dip is fabulous and I'm addicted to the baby gem salad. They have recently amped up the filling in the delicious crispy squash blossoms and I love the acidity and heat. The fish is also a hit in my books. One dish that doesn't work for me is the lamb chops, which is a shame since it's my favorite protein. I've ordered them multiple times with clear instructions on temperature and have found them overcooked and tough. The beef tostada was just ok. Whilst I loved the pickled veg on the side, the beef was underseasoned. It wasn't bad - just not up to the standard of other dishes. The vibe in the place is welcoming and the restaurant is nicely appointed. We will continue to be regulars and it's really worth trying if you haven't been yet.

There must have been a special occasion to be welcomed by music that was incredibly loud. We sat down, and I couldn't hear myself think, or the waiters voices. We asked for another table, but unfortunately that brought a certain type of attitude from the host. I'm sure the music would have been nice if it wasn't as loud, on amplified speakers. After finally being seated, near the bar, the service seemed great. Seating seemed plentiful, but I can now see why a reservation is necessary. To start, the appetizer we chose was a queso fundido which was ok on their smaller tortillas. I must have been spoiled by Chalio's homemade giant tortillas. Chalio's on Atlantic by the way. Guelageutza uses sautéed mushrooms, and they garnished it with this guacamole that didn't really taste that good. Mushrooms on the fundido didn't seem right, but individually they tasted great. The chorizo was ok. My gf likes to try those types of apps. They're not known for that, so I can let it pass. Our order was taken, food was quick, and hot. The attentiveness of the staff was good, but their smiles were absent. Must have had a long day. I got the black Mole chicken, my gf got the enchilada negras(black mole) topped with their tesajo. My dish was good, hot, and full of mole, which was delicious as well. They served it with their tiny homemade corn tortillas. They have several types of mole. My gf got the enchiladas Oaxaceñas and it looked good until I took a bite of the enchiladas. They just poured mole over the tortillas and that's where the flavor went flat. The tortillas were dry and not dipped in the sauce. Traditionally in my family, we fry our tortillas lightly in oil, or lard, and roll them in the sauce. My gf didn't even finish them. I ate all of my meal, and I took her enchiladas home. They were even worse as leftovers. I tried to order their traditional flan, but they had ran out, so I ordered their tres leches. It was ok. I was really disappointed that they ran out of flan though. All in all, this establishment was ok. The atmosphere seemed very manufactured, but I've never had the pleasure of visiting Oaxaca. The mole negro was delicious on the chicken. Seeing that It was recommended on Yelp, I agreed with the statement of picking that dish. The bathrooms were great with a good amount of stalls. I can't say that about a lot of good delicious Mexican food restaurants here in LA. They seem to be more of an afterthought with some. Reminding myself this was Michelin rated restaurant, I didn't get that same feeling with the food though. This now, will give me an excuse to look into why a restaurant is rated as such to understand why that matters so much.
