Paco's is a great homestyle Mexican restaurant in Culver City. There is a small lot to park behind the place or you will be on the street, mind the signs. You will find parking. The place is super cute, with the servers and staff dressed in traditional Mexican clothing. The wall have some cute art and the place is just a happy place to me. They do have a lot of seating and many get it to go. It can get very crowded so try for off times. The service is wonderful. The staff is nice and speak English and Spanish and will help you with the menu. They are fast and they usually get your order correct the first time. They also have beer and wine. I do not know whether they have a full bar, I think they very well may. The food is excellent. We love their hard shell tacos and their beans and rice are always spot on. Their burritos are good as are their tamales. We have never had a bad meal there. Enjoy. read more

Paco's is a local and family favorite spot with freshly made tortillas and delicious salsa and margaritas. My only gripe is that the prices continue to rise and the chips and salsa are only free for the first basket, which really takes away the appeal of a local family style Mexican restaurant. My fav burrito is now $20, and while the burrito itself is large, it's a high price to pay for just a burrito with no sides. I think if the chips and salsa were still unlimited the increase in food prices wouldn't be such a hit as well. Their drinks are always great I just wish they had happy hour since the prices really are up there with other new and modern restaurants with no fun deals or unlimited chips and salsa like many other family style places. Their servers are kind and attentive and there's not a crazy amount of tables so there tends to be a wait no matter the time of day. This place is very deceiving from the outside, but don't let that fool you--the food is authentic Mexican and absolutely worth stopping for. My only real complaint is the guacamole. I wish they wouldn't add lettuce to it just to make it look like there's more than there actually is, and please don't add the flour chips on top--it really takes away from the presentation. That said, the chicken enchiladas are my absolute favorite and the main reason I keep coming back. The service is great and very accommodating; if you're not happy with something, they genuinely try to fix it, which I really appreciate. I'm honestly confused by the mixed reviews because if you're looking specifically for great chicken enchiladas, this is the place to go. The beans are a bit pasty and could really benefit from a little milk to thin them out. As for the Spanish rice, if vegetables are going to be added, they should be mixed in during the cooking process--otherwise, it's better not to add them at all. Fairly traditional menu with à la cart and combination plates in a warm and friendly environment where the tortillas are being handmade. Surrounded by lots of folk art, this Cantina offers good straightforward, Mexican fare. As someone who is gluten intolerant, I caution those who might want to get enchiladas because the Ranchero sauce has flour in it so I got the enchiladas without the ranchero sauce and uses the salsa. read more

I did not want to do this review for the reason that I have been a loyal customer for years. Recently I have had two experiences with take out. I order my usual two cheese enchiladas with rice and beans. And both times I have almost checked in to emergency due to my stomach rejecting the meal. It is clear to me now that the quality has gotten my so sick that I will never go back again. Paco's has gone down hill so badly we have no intention of returning unless my little grandson insists for his Birthday. Now, their food was never great, but it was good, the prices fair and the service excellent. Such is no longer the case. I would give them 2 stars but they sang Happy Birthday to my grandson so I am being overly kind. There were 5 of us. They brought one basket of chips. You want another, again 5 of us, you will be paying for that. You walk in the place and it is now very warm. It is not as clean as it used to be, but it is fine. The service was so slow and it was not peak dinner time, not that such would be an excuse. They got our order wrong and the food was not good, some of it was not something you would eat. But, my dog liked 240$ worth of food. First, they came to get our drink order and that was fine. Then we waited and waited and someone came to take our order. We all had expensive dishes and when they came they all looked the same. They were not, they were just a mess of food on a plate. We ordered a shrimp cocktail that is supposed to have ceviche in it. Look at the photo, it is mostly water. There were 3 little shrimp and more watery ceviche. My grandson was the only one who would eat it. The balance just sat. Our food came at the same time instead of the starters and then the meal. I can live with that if it were any good. My grandson is a Special Needs child and can handle zero stress, so I could not return my dish and it went home to the dog, most everyone's did. I was so very clear that I was highly allegoric to sour cream and none was to be on my chimichanga or anything else. I clearly said this and added, no sauce of any kind at all. Just make it plain. The plate had been sitting in the heat and all the sour cream had melted into the entire plate. They must love sour cream. The plate was such a mess and the chimichanga so small that I could not find it. I took a bite of the beans and there was sour cream under it and I thought I would vomit. I looked at the rest of it and none of it could be eaten. I sat there with a smile on my face for my grandson and not one staff member even asked if our food was okay. Not even when I had the entire meal put in a box, all of them. My husband had a steak dish that he asked for rare to medium rare. It was burnt. The dog liked that as well. The rice on all dishes was dry. The beans, the dog would not even eat. The one thing they have that is still good are their tortillas, that are made there. But it took forever to get them. The flan was fine. It took a long time to get the bill. They have raised their prices. I have had better food at the worst taco truck in town. What a waste of money. Four plates barely touched. Wow this place is awesome! Been looking for killer crispy tacos for a while. They have a few old ladies making tortillas from scratch. The Supermex burrito is AT LEAST 2 meals. I had 3 crispy tacos: Carne Asada, Shredded beef and cochinita pibil (incredible pork in a sweet sauce). The latter is an old Yucatán recipe. Get it! The restaurant has incredible ambiance. Fun, spacious. All decorated for Halloween now. And the service is fantastic. Really friendly and they checked on us often. This is our new place!! read more

A little 14-year update since my last review. My family and I have been going here for 20+ years and not much as changed. The decor is always a lot and festive, the food is always great, the service is always amazing, parking always sucks lol I still get the same meal and I don't think I will ever change. I might add in a thing or two but the asada dinner plate will always be my go to. With flour tortilla, butter & cilantro with onions on the side. I wish they had dr pepper though lol read more

Solid Mexican food! I came here with some family members on a Saturday night and it was packed. We waited for about 15-20 minutes before being seated. The menu is large and a little hard to figure out for some items because it doesn't say the meat options. I ended up ordering the super burrito and we ordered guacamole for the table. The guacamole was okay, not super flavorful and it had chips on top that were stale. My burrito was very good, and gigantic. It had rice, beans, chicken, salsa, and sour cream inside, and a ton of guacamole on top. The rice also had corn and peas which isn't my personal favorite but I still enjoyed it. Okay this review is like ridiculously way lonnnnng overdue. We have been coming to Pacos for over 34 years! Yes, before we were married, before we had kids and before the grandkid. What's not to love about Pacos... besides the same friendly familiar people that have been working there since forever. And of course the comforting Mexican food that you've come to know, crave and love. Hard to find that authentic rice that my grandma used to make, but Pacos does not disappoint! When you're greeted by Oscar who knows you, you're off to a great start. Many milestone/family celebrations(and Margaritas)were had here back in the day. Even though we don't live in the area anymore, we can sure find any excuse to come to Pacos! I was so excited when I first saw pictures of this restaurant. It looked and felt like good old LA Mexican joint--the décor, the atmosphere, and the woman making fresh tortillas. Everything seemed so promising... until I took my first bite. We ordered all our usuals--albondigas, carnitas, carne asada, chili relleno, tacos, taquitos--you name it. But something was just off. The flavors were lacking, and the food didn't deliver on what the ambiance had promised. I think all of the dishes were lacking salt. Here's the thing: if you walk into an ethnic restaurant--whether it's Mexican, Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, you get it --and you don't see people from that culture dining there, and see bunch of mature adults from the main population (try not to sound ageist or racist here) it's usually a red flag. Unfortunately, that was the case here. Sadly, we left more than half of our food untouched and felt bad. read more

Red sauce .. what makes this place so special is the homemade flour tortillas, get those eat them with butter and then dip it in the salsa with the butter. It is the best thing you ever had and then if you take the steaming hot beans and cheese and make yourself a bean and cheese burrito. Get a little side of sour cream. You can never go wrong with the Mexican food here. Somewhat biased given, I was born and raised in this area and have been coming here since I can remember. Everything from the homemade flour tortillas made right then and there by the always smiling delightful lady who I always tip on my way out, to my absolute, favorite crunchy taco, to a carafe of margaritas on the rocks, it will always be consistently delicious and never disappoints. If you're new to this place, I recommend the super Mex burrito with chunky pork or beef, just be aware it's as big as my Chihuahua. Some of my other favorites are, their soft Carnitas tacos, steak Tampiqueno with an enchilada on the side, No matter what you get make sure that you get an order of beans. I'm sure full of lard, but you're not going there cause you're on a diet. And you can always count on the festive decorations, which are always aligned with whatever holiday is near. I love that they kept the outdoor seating in the back but being inside is always so comfy and cozy and reminds me of being in the kitchen with my grandparents on a Sunday morning having breakfast. I called to place a pick up order yesterday and was told that I was speaking to a manager named Oscar. He was SO rude to me on the phone that I was in disbelief. I told him that I have never had anyone be so rude to me on the phone and he told me that I needed to come in to order because he was too busy to take my order by phone simply because I had questions. Oscar I would like you to know that you work in a service industry and service involves answering my questions about different sizes of bags of chips and the price etc. Those are normal questions for me to be asking and needing to understand when placing an order for pickup by phone. Your behavior was disgusting and I truly hope that you change but I know that you probably won't because people like you are what is wrong with today's world. Does anyone remember the small window on the south facing wall of Paco's? The restaurant was fairly new, and those of us who lived in the area could walk up to that window and purchase a tiny bag of chips complete with a mini plastic container of salsa for a whopping 10cents. My friends and I would visit that window almost every day - usually on rollerskates because the extra height made it much easier to transact. This window was removed decades ago, but the memories are as fresh as their delicious house made tortilla chips they still make today. Kudos to the manager at this location - the food here is delicious as I remember it was back in my rollerskate days. Fresh house made corn and flour tortillas, salsa, and a menu packed full of options, even back then. Seafood too, the Oaxaca is a family favorite, as is the Coctel de Camaron, one or both are ordered almost every visit. We specifically dined here because the Westchester location has gone rogue and is no longer serving their delicious house made tortilla chips. It's a shame because that location has much better parking, is bigger, and it's closer to home. Seems the pandemic may have paved the way for unpopular decisions, including not re-opening the bar area...and those blasted chips are gawd awful. Thankfully, this location still serves them up fresh and hot, and you know what? The food just might be a few times better than the other location. Margs here are a bit smaller, but the give and take is worth it if you're an OG Paco's fan. Keep on keeping on Paco's...we'll be back to enjoy every bite and sip. Salud! read more

If nothing else, go and check out the ambience because there is so much to look at inside that you will have an enjoyable experience. My gorgeous companion had the chicken burrito and it was huge. It will easily last her three meals. It was very good and the chicken was very tasty because I also had a chicken enchilada. I also had a Carne Asada taco and was somewhat disappointed that like most other places around, the Carne Asada is basically just steak , they need to go to San Diego to learn what Carne Asada is Chips and salsa were very good, and they also brought out some homemade tortillas that were amazing. They make them right there in front of everyone. Service was excellent, and the food came out in like five minutes we were shocked. Parking is definitely a challenge. I think we will go back at some point, but there are so many other Mexican food places in the area to try first. read more
