In my opinion, this has been one of the most unprofessional electric companies I've ever dealt with. The customer service over the phone was rude and unhelpful, and when I asked to speak to a manager or supervisor, they couldn't even locate one for me. I felt completely dismissed and ignored. The worst part was my experience on the road. One of their company vans drove aggressively and carelessly, cutting me off on the freeway, flipping me off, and not letting me cross the intersection when it was my turn. It was terrifying, unsafe, and completely avoidable. The behavior of their drivers shows a shocking lack of training and professionalism. Overall, based on my experience, both their phone staff and drivers are extremely unprofessional. I have an older house that was having electricity issues for years and I've been putting "bandaids" on each issue, it finally got so bad that I had to give in and replace the entire panel box (big job).. On Friday late morning I called Priority 1 to fix my messed up ceiling light in my kitchen. I have used them for over 20 years so this was a no brainer. The woman that answered the phone was quite friendly and very clear about the potential costs and immediately set abou,t finding an available electrician to help with my problem. After a couple hours Casey Kruse, arrived with his ubiquitous orange pony tail and sneakers and was very affable and quite friendly. He spent about an hour trouble shooting the problem. He was very clear in explaining the problem and how much it would cost to fix it. He cleaned up the work area in spite of my saying that I would take of that. They tried gaslighting me into getting me to pay twice and when I told them I have records of my payment they dropped it. Talk about customer service. Wednesday, July 3rd at 6:30pm our power goes out om the hottest day of the year. Also happens to be the night before a holiday. One phone call to Priority 1 Electric, Mike, their electrician showed up within the hour. Mike was very professional and extremely knowledgeable. I had a million questions and Mike Camy and professionally explained everything and was very reassuring. We had our power back on by 8pm. Our family and our dogs thank you. I hired Priority 1 Electric to add a ground wire and 240 outlet in the garage. My older home needed the upgrade for charging my electric car. Michael and Frank did a great job. Michael crawled through the attic since my garage is mostly detached and that route worked for the work. All is working well and I'm happy. I don't know anything about household electricity, so I called my brother, a plumbing contractor out of town. He researched and selected Priority1 for me. Casey came out on time, he listened respectfully to my amateurish explanation of our problem and gave me two possible solutions. He told me he would check the panel and let me know what he found. Fortunately, we could choose the less expensive solution safely. Casey explained what he would do, and the timeline. He did the repair in the time he had estimated at the cost quoted. I felt respected. Casey explained in plain language that I could understand. I realize that my problem may continue because I selected the less expensive fix. We called on Monday September 23 for quote on repair some swatches in my mom's house the guy came on time that's the only good thing about the company.Frank from Priority 1 wants to change my mom $3500 for changing 14 light switch and $140 for after hours service because he came at 3pm lol after hours .I called another Company called Bear Copper and had them come over they did not change for the quote and Josh was very respectful and the work he did more the Frank from Priority 1 and he changed my mom 90 year old for the 14 switches $580 lol what a difference read more

I have used Priority 1 for many years, in my home, and for my rental property, and always been satisfied with the quality of work, and professionalism of their staff. The $275.00 for 1st 30 minutes at 1st caused me pause, but all of the jobs were repaired within that time, or shortly there after..I've been happy. Recently I had my 1st problem with service, at my business location, late arrival, didn't have the part, problem not resolved, and instead a large quote for coming back. I wrote a letter to the company expressing my angst, and I received a refund. I will continue to do business with them without hesitation. I would like to give priority 1 electric 5 my moms house was having random breakers trip in the circuit box. She called a guy and he came out and couldn't find the issue but decided to replace the 20 amp breaker for the kitchen. He charged 165$ and recommended adding a designated breaker for fridge and microwave ($475). The problem continues to get worse so today I called priority one electric. Technician came out at a time that was convenient for me, assessed the breaker box finding loose wire and overloaded circuit. Priority 1 fixed everything within an hour & 1/2 for a reasonable price. Attempted home repair myself on Garage Lighting. Realized changing the bulbs was not the issue. Called Priority 1 Electric and asked if someone could troubleshoot the issue same day. In less than two hours, Miguel arrived at my house. He checked and verified that the power was working and suggested to upgrade the ballast on the garage lighting to help minimize costs on my outdated lighting. He completed the job expeditiously and didn't mind me calling a friend to verify the quoted price. Miguel completed the job without any issues. He was very thorough, super pleasant, answered all my questions and concerns. I highly recommend Priority 1 Electric and I would encourage anyone who utilizes this company to request Miguel. Disgusted by this company... I tried them by finding them on home advisor. So the only positive was that they were timely came out right away but that's because they don't have any other business. So they charge you $48 just to come out and do a quote, red flag number 1. Secondly I had a simple ceiling fan install and they wanted to charge me $411!!! That's on top of the $48 quote, so about $460 total to install a fan. Ya no, that's called robbery. I have a friend who has his own electrical business and said it should cost between 200-300 TOTAL for everything install. Priority 1 Electric is prohibitively expensive and they scam prospective clients with their $47.50 diagnostic charge. They gave me an estimate of $5,274.86 for some lighting installation in my kitchen. I had the work completed by a different certified, insured, Master Electrician with 20 years experience who offered a 10 year warranty. He completed the work within six hours for a total cost of $700. That's correct - $4,500 less than the quote from Priority 1. I have never written a Yelp review before, but felt compelled to warn others of Priority 1's unethical business practices. While I can not attest to their work, I wholeheartedly agree with other reviewers that this company is dishonest and deceptive. Please do not fall for their fraudulent trap of allowing them into your home for a trip fee, only to have this followed by an exorbitantly inflated estimate. read more

I sent an email 4 days ago to their customer service expressing my dissatisfaction with their service. I have not heard from them except to receive an invoice for the $47.50 diagnostic. This is what I sent them .... "Hi [name deleted] I'm not sure why this email says the initial visit includes a diagnostic. When your employee, [name deleted], arrived he informed me that the $47.50 was "just to get him out there." As you may recall, you told me on the phone that it was no use just replacing my quad breaker without finding out what caused it to go bad in the first place. You told me that the included diagnostic would accomplish just that. I enlisted Priority 1's service on that basis. Once I found out that your service person would not be doing a diagnostic and delivered an outlandish estimate, I declined any additional services. The "flat rate" of $392.64 to replace the 4 pole breaker is excessive. I replaced it myself in 15 minutes for the cost of the part ($28). In hourly terms, that puts your services at over $1200 per hour. Highly dissatisfied customer, [name deleted]" This is what the company emailed to me in advance of the visit and why I was expecting a diagnosis not just an estimate .... "In order to provide you with a quote to correct your problem we would need to visit your home or facility and do a complete diagnostic to identify your problem. The cost for travel and diagnostic is $47.50 for residential and $95.00 for commercial establishments." As other reviews have pointed out, plenty of electrical companies will supply free, no obligation estimates. Those estimates are likely to be much lower as well. read more

Casey and zach took great care of us and our electrical needs. They were here promptly after we called (within 15 minutes) and did all the work we needed on the spot. We will definitely call them again for any of our electrician needs. Their service charge was also much cheaper than other companies I called. THEY STOLE $400 IN POWER TOOLS FROM MY HOME. THEY LEFT THE JOB UNFINISHED AND NEVER CALLED BACK. WORST. EXPERIENCE. EVER. RUN FAR, FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AND NEVER LET THEM INTO YOUR HOME!! Simple job: update/ground all electrical outlets. They came out the first day, worked for 3 hours and then said that they had another customer who refused to wait, and THEY JUST ABANDONED US. We had this appointment for weeks, and they said they had just provided an estimate to this other customer that afternoon. They took complete advantage of our kindness. We bought them lunch/gave them water, etc. I even tipped the one poor trainee kid, because he was left here by his coworkers completely alone for 1 of those 3 hours. They said they would be back the next day at 8 AM. They casually roll in THREE HOURS LATE, at about 11 AM the next day. We were here waiting for them at 8 AM. No call from them; we had to call them and ask where they were. Later, we had no choice but to leave for a couple of hours to meet the moving truck down the street, and that's when they STOLE OUR POWER TOOLS FROM OUR BACK YARD. When we finished with the truck, they had a different guy here with them (who I think is the boss) who was CLEARLY DRUNK. As they were leaving, he says he forgot one of the outlets, switched it out and ASKED ME FOR CASH IMMEDIATELY AFTER PAYING MY BILL!! Guess what?! WHEN HE SWITCHED THAT OUTLET, HE KILLED THE POWER TO OUR WHOLE HOUSE FAN and the flood lights in the yard. I'd say they didn't finish more than half of the job, and they actually made it WORSE than before they were here!! We called them and let them know that they broke the house fan, didn't finish the job, and stole our tools. They said they would call us back to make an appointment. That was almost 2 WEEKS AGO!! They didn't seem to care the first time we called and they have never called us back. We got an estimate from another company who told us that THEY LEFT THE ELECTRICAL CORDS ON THE GROUND UNDER THE HOUSE instead of stapling them up!!! I am so upset and hurt by this experience and now I have to pay a different company to come out and fix the damage caused by Priority 1 Electric!! And no replacing the power tools as they had sentimental value. Oh, and just to add insult to injury: when I asked for an update while they were here, they wouldn't talk to me about the repairs, they said they would prefer to speak to my husband instead. I got a call from the tenant that the property was out of electricity at 8:00 pm. As he had several hundreds dollar of food in the fridge, and the weather was cold, he wanted electricity to be back on right away. I called my go-to electrician who upgraded the electric panel for the property several years ago. The electrician could not come at the odd hours, but he called the tenant and diagnosed the problem but could not find out the problem - not a simple fuse overblown. Without electricity is an emergency. I just "bing" searched and found several on-call electricians. Some of them are just referrals, and couldn't really help. Couple of them charge a lot. Eventually I got in touch with Zack from Priority 1 Electric. Zack was very up-front and told me the price - as it was around 9:00 pm and was considered an emergency call. He also told me it would take the electrician one to one and a half hour to come. After consideration, even another electrician quoted me a slight lower price, I decided to choose Priority 1 as it seemed to me a more reliable electrician that I can trust. So we agreed on the deal and Zack was going to diagnose the problem with the tenant and arranged the visit. Ten minutes later, the tenant called and told me that he didn't pay SMUD bill and the electricity was cut off. He moved from out of state and thought that PG&E would handle both gas and electricity. Zack found out the problem over the phone with him. I am so happy that the problem solved in such a short time, and even better, I was not charged for anything. Zack, and Priority 1 Electric, rocks. I don't understand the poor ratings for the company. I think expertise doesn't come in cheap. With their level of knowledge, professionalism, and service, the price is totally reasonable. More important, their integrity is top notch. They could easily dispatch an electrician and charges me for the fee. I definitely will use them again. read more

No return call I received a call from Rae Ann Murray she was the General Mgr. Rae Ann Murray works for Prioity1Electric in Sacramento Calif. The address 1309 Silica Ave Sacramento, California 95815. I told her I wanted to talk to the owner. She told me the owner would contact me. Rae Ann Murray sent me a threat letter 2 weeks later stating I still owe them for $47.50 because her guys came to my home the first day. I told her guys was a no show on their service appointment to perform the work for Thursday. I have tried to contact the owner thru Rae Ann Murray she stated she will have the owner to contact me. Still no return call from the owner. If anyone is looking for a honest company that comes on time and shows up on their appointments. This is not the right company all they do is steal people $47.50 and their guys do not return back to your home to repair your electrical problems. I am going to the BBB to report Priority1Electric.The Sacramento Office are thieves and they are out to get you. They will say pull up a coupon through their face book or other websites. This company was the worst home repair company I have ever used. However at first I had no complaints. They came out and installed a exhaust fan located in my laundry room. They had the job done in about 20 min and charged $89.00. The $89.00 was high for what they did, however I was happy to have the fan working again and I offered to do the clean-up after they were finished and I did so. The trouble started the next day when the fan started making a noise. I called Priority !and told them about the noise as soon as it started. The dispatcher told me they had a big job on the following 2 days but someone would call me and set up a time to come back out. I was fine with that. However a week and a half went in which I e-mail and called Priority 1 but I was clearly not a Priority anymore. They never did come back but offered my money back. It was a big waste of my time. I would say more negative things here but will not waste any more time with them! They are happy to take you money. read more

They promised to come out to give an estimate and then flaked. I contacted Priority 1 Electric through homeadvisor.com at 5:30 am. They called me by 7:15 am and were at my house by 10:30 am. I scheduled the installation for the next day. The price was right and they showed up on-time. They didn't make a mess and the job was done right. I'm impressed and will use them again. read more

I would definitely not recommend Priority 1 Electric. Our power went out on a couple of indoor outlets. We were charged $47.50 for a quote. Then we opened the panel box, they flipped the circuit breaker and proceeded to charge us $188.50!!! After we objected, the electrician reduced it by $47.50 - and only because I had printed a coupon from their website. We had to pay $141 to flip a circuit breaker!!! I wrote to Rae Ann Murray, Priority 1 Electric's manager, expressing my dismay at such a high cost and she wrote me a very defensive, condescending and rude email. Definitely not a customer-oriented business!!! Very unprofessional and OVERPRICED!!! I would NOT recommend them and I certainly won't every use them again. read more

Absolutely excellent, clear communication from initial inquiry to completion of job. I work nights, and they sent an extra electrician along to try to complete the job in one day instead of two so I wouldn't have to get up after 3 hours' sleep two days in a row. Solid work, and didn't leave the place trashed like too many contractors I've worked with in the past have -- they actually left it cleaner than when they got there!
