I needed an exhaust manifold replaced as my old one was badly cracked. A few places in town would not let me bring in my own parts (purchased online) but the guys at campus had no problem installing the parts I received. I called on a Wednesday and they said the soonest they had time for a job like that was Tuesday, but I needed it done sooner and they were able to squeeze me in the very next morning! They were very friendly and trustworthy and I even received a student discount which made it the best deal in town (I called about every shop in merced trust me). I can't say enough good things about this place. They are a full service automotive repair center. I brought my truck in to have the steering box replaced and they did it on time, on budget, and did an excellent job! I heard they had two mechanics out sick that day so the service manager did the work himself so that I could have it done in one day. They have an excellent door-to-door pick-up and drop off shuttle service that worked out great for me. I drop off my car, and am in walking distance to work...however I can also choose to be dropped off by their shuttle service. You might need to drop off your car early, but the coffee and fresh donuts will be there waiting for ya. This shop is a fraud! Don't believe any of those self-praising reviews you see here and elsewhere. I made a mistake for believing these reviews and paid a hard lesson for it! First, the owner Louse is not trustworthy. He knows how to talk you into paying more for the service that is not needed. What he may not know is shafted customers don't come back. And I am among these customers. Misdiagnosing is the other thing this shop is good at. I ended up spending more money on a more competent mechanics to fix what Campus Automotive did to my car. When it comes to cars..Repairs or otherwise...it is very hard on females in general because we dont know anything. We have to take the word of the repair guys and we all know how expensive car repairs are. I have always dreaded having to get my car worked on for that very reason. Many times over the years I have dished out hundreds and sometimes a couple grand on repairs but had nagging feelings about the places I took my car to that I was being ripped off. Not knowing any better I had to do what I had to do. I started taking my car to Campus last year and I feel like they do a really good job. Yes, sometimes the job can be expensive but I dont feel ripped off. I dont have that nagging feeling that I am being hustled because Im female. I feel like they are very fair and super nice. Took my car in to get an oil change last week and they had it done while I waited...Took them less than half hour and I was out the door. I'm so glad I found them and although I hope I dont have to visit them for a long while, I feel comfortable taking my car to them for anything I need done. read more

Never would he do some work on your car that wasn't necessary. No trade ups or baits. While driving from Fresno to San Francisco my engine light came on and I could not drive over 20. Although they were full, Louey offered to squeeze me in, did a diagnostic, and was able to fix my faulty sensor with only 2 1/2 hours before closing.
