Could be a mixture of nostalgia and pride, but this is my favorite cafe in Flagstaff. Good food, good coffee, plenty of space to spread out and read, work, and have good conversation. Unlike other Flagstaff cafes, it doesn't pretend to be something it isn't. No crazy hipster vibe or intimidatingly "cool" baristas. You can park without worrying of being towed. I appreciate that. I feel welcome there, comfortable, and the music somehow magically always adapts its volume and style to perfectly promote my reading/writing/work I've brought there that day. Absolutely LOVE Campus Coffee Bean! The customer service is awesome, the bagels are amazing, and there is SOO much to choose from! Went here for breakfast, waited 45 minutes for an omlette which was made incorrectly. Had to wait another 15 min for the corrected order, and they weren't very busy at all. When I gently complained, the staff was condescending and they blamed one another. Overall, although the good was good, the staff was unprofessional and unless you are grabbing an already made pastry/coffee on the go, don't be surprised if you spend over an hour here. read more

This shop is geared to the college kiddies who are addicted to noise, and have no clue what real coffee tastes like. I wanted a break from my morning routine of coffee on my porch in the quiet hours, so I walked to C.C.B. and arrived in time for it to open at 6:00 AM, thinking it would be quiet, peaceful, and uncrowded at this hour, and that I could eat leisurely and then read my new PGS manual while drinking coffee.... Sure enough, I was the first and only one there for a few minutes before a 2nd customer arrived. Still in a deep pre-coffee fog, I ordered an Americano coffee and breakfast. While adding sugar and cream to my coffee, waiting for my food, suddenly I noticed very LOUD college kiddie music; being in a fog, Really? at just past 6 AM?! So I scratched my plan to eat indoors, opting for the chilly outdoors instead, and when my food was ready I carried it to the farthest table from the building - but the door was open and so the music was still very loud and disturbing there. Scratch my plan for reading anything, and for any chance to relax.... While the Greek veggie omelette was good, the Americano "coffee" stank and tasted like Sanka decaf! So bad that I only took a few sips and left it unfinished. The potatoes were dry and tasteless, obviously pre-frozen. There was only 1 pat of butter for 2 slices of toast, so the toast was very dry. After I finished thee omelette & some potatoes, and miserable without drinkable coffee, and stressed by the noise (kiddie music), I lasted about 5 minutes before getting up and walking home where I made my own damned coffee. Having resided in /flagstaff for far too long (unintended, but stuff happens...) I knew better than to expect a good cup of real coffee in this town - even in the pathetic coffee specialty shops and even Starbucks out here..., but the so called coffee at C.C.B. was by far the worst I've had. Also, if a place in this town is geared for college kids, be assured that it will be extremely loud and juvenile. One more week and I'll be back east where there is great coffee and food, and where not all places encourage college students to act like noisy children. read more

We stopped by on our way back to Abq and there was a wonderful barista (an adorable tiny blonde girl) was awesome. She gave us suggestions on the menu and we had a great conversation. The coffee was great and she offered to remake any drink we didn't like. Great experience! read more

I have been going to this coffee shop for breakfast and coffee (or tea) for nearly 4 years. I love that I can meet clients there for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. I also go there alone to sit and do work in between appointments! Free WIFI - and it's never down! I recommend the vegetable breakfast burrito and chai for breakfast. I like the gyro salad and a protein drink for lunch. At dinner, I like the "Sky Dome". It's chicken salad on a croissant, or choice of bread with lettuce and tomato - comes with chips, banana or baby carrots! I'm at Campus Coffee Bean at least twice a week! Check it out! read more

I have mixed feelings about Campus Coffee Bean. They have probably the best coffeehouse menu in Flagstaff, with various types of coffee and pastries, and a full breakfast and lunch menu. Unfortunately, service can be excruciatingly slow at times. But today my sister spilled a drink because the redheaded woman behind the counter didn't put the cap on all the way and the same woman then just stares at my sister rolls her eyes and walks off! This was the first coffee shop we were taken to last year when my daughter decided on NAU. Last Wednesday the 26th I went in early because I was catching the shuttle to Phoenix to fly home and what an awful experience. Usually there's really nice employees there and they take care of you. NOT THAT MORNING!!!! An old guy was there VERY RUDE AND TOTALLY WORTHLESS!!!! I always put heavy whipping cream in my coffee and always get it when I ask. NOT FROM THIS JERK!!! And then I like medium or light roast...NOT THAT MORNING!!!! Basically was told to find another coffee shop in Flagstaff. Or don't go early in the morning when the OLD MAN is working. HE WONT HELP YA. OR EVEN SMILE !!!! I've been coming to campus coffee bean for awhile now, it is my favorite place to get coffee (and the occasional burrito) because the baristas are so friendly but it's come to the point where I really DESPISE going when the cook with the long ponytail is working. The reason I am giving 3 stars and not 1 is because I like being here to talk to anybody else who is working BESIDES the man with the long braid. Over the past few months, I have noticed how that man treats his coworkers. I have heard him say extremely mean things to them where customers can hear him. And it's not just comments towards the people he works with, he complains about making food for customers who come in. I cannot express how rude he acts towards the people around him. I have never witnessed a more bitter man in my entire life, and trust me, I've met a lot of people.I am appalled at the fact that he still works here as I've been a regular for about 2 years. I even watched him drop a knife on the ground and PICK IT UP AND CONTINUE USING IT WITHOUT CLEANING IT. I am so sorry for the people who have to be around him during the day. I really hope that the owner takes care of this problem, as I know many other people feel the same way but are too afraid to say anything. I hope my post encourages others to speak up about the cook with the long pony tail braid. read more

I enjoy visiting Flagstaff with my children. We enjoy the beautiful weather and the laid back vibe that can be found in the local establishments. This morning we stopped here for coffee and bagels. The place was full of locals. Our order took quite a while to prepare. The woman behind the counter was by herself and, she was, delightfully "Flagstaff"...friendly, laid back and a bit unorganized...Our visit was made uncomfortable by the presence of two homeless Native Americans who have apparently taken up residence just outside and inside the establishment. They went panhandling from customer to customer. I myself did not feel threatened but my children did. Some of the "regulars" even purchased food for them. I can't see how permitting these folks to linger is a help to any business. A phone call to the local police and a trespass citation is probably better warranted here. We were unable to stay and finish as my children ( raised in squeaky clean suburbia)were uncomfortable . read more

If you're an adult between the ages of 25-50 stay away! The place is filthy, the service is horrible, and the cook is rude. I waited a half hour for a breakfast burrito to go (after the rush mind you, the place was empty) and when I finally got it they handed it to me on a plate. I had to flag down the cook to remind him that this was a to go order to which he replied by saying nothing and throwing a piece of foil at me. The manager saw this, did nothing, and I even had to chase him down to get a bag. This type of service my suffice for college kids and retirees, but for working adults it simply does not cut it. I have gone to Campus Coffee Bean SEVERAL times.. I do enjoy the food and the coffee but the service is a joke. They are nice, don't get me wrong but they seriously need to hire more workers. I waited in like for 15 minutes with only 5 people in front of me because the poor cashier has to make all of the beverages and be the cashier. It is a do-able job, yes BUT one more worker to help keep a flow would be preferred. I went in two times today in attempt to get a coffee and pastry. I enjoy the carmel iced latte very much. I usually order the chorizo burrito as well and it's very filling and good! It's a very casual coffee-hangout atmosphere. The staff is very nice. Sometimes the wait for the food is a little longer than expected but everything i've ordered from there has always been delicious! I don't post reviews but I had to say something about this place. This is a hidden treasure in Flagstaff. I was looking for coffee and found a wonderful restaurant. I come up from Phoenix every so often and wanted to try a local coffee place as I was getting tired of the national chain. Campus coffee bean is much more than a coffee and muffin shop. I came in at lunch time and not knowing what to get I asked the friendly girl at the counter what she recommended. I tried the BLT on croissant. WOW! What a great sandwich! The don't skimp on the "B" in the BLT. Probably the best BLT I've ever had. Overall, this place has really nice atmosphere, good food, and good coffee. My hat is off to the staff!
