The service was good and quick and overall, I felt it was a good little spot for a burger. Would give 0 stars. Very overrated and not worth going to. There was literally only 1 onion ring on the BBQ burger. Menu says onion ringS. Ordered it rare. It was medium. The bbq sauce is spicy sauce but the menu doesn't say that. The mustard sauce or whatever it is doesn't taste like mustard. Small beer selection. No local beers from local breweries! The last time I came out here, I couldn't find this place. I get overwhelmed sometimes going inside other buildings trying to find a place when I don't know where it is lol. Very cute place! Went there for the first time a couple weeks ago and definitely will be returning. Camille immediately greeted us as we walked in. She ended up being our server and was very friendly and prompt. She made the best margarita. Her service was quick and friendly and she was able to hold quick friendly conversations with us. Stopped into Brown Bag Burger while visiting Flagstaff from Aspen, Colorado , and I'm really glad I did. The food was great, but what stood out even more was the service. Sean was welcoming, confident, and genuinely fun to talk to and not to bad to look at either -- the kind of person who makes you feel like a regular even when you're from out of town and wanna stay there. He was helpful and delightful without being pushy, kept things moving smoothly, and definitely added to the overall experience and felt like his presence made the food better in general . We never got the one water we ordered & I had to ask the server for a refill on my kid's drinks. They were also out of two major beers. Visiting the area and this place had good reviews. Thought we would try it out, wanted a good burger. The place was nice and clean. Missed the signage and Waze was a little vague on location. It's on the ground floor. We ordered burgers for the 6 of us. One burger was ordered plain. Came with cheese, mayo and toppings. We brought it to the waiters attention and he quickly brought another burger out. Still had cheese. Dairy allergies are a real thing. We mentioned it and quickly another burger was brought out. But wait. It wasn't another burger. Realized it was the same burger and bun with the cheese and mayo scraped off. Wow. Thats actually as bad a response as you could give pretty much. Allergies people. Scraping it off doesn't cut it. Glad we caught it. However, that definitely dropped the 2 star review to a one. The burgers that were cooked right were good and nicely flavored. I had a pretty disappointing experience here. I placed an online order that quoted a 15-20 minute pickup time, but when I arrived at 20 minutes, my food wasn't ready. I ended up waiting until about 35 minutes after placing the order. While I was waiting, one of the employees was on their phone the majority of the time, which didn't give the impression that getting orders out on time was a priority. Unfortunately, the food itself was also incorrect. One burger was supposed to be just meat, cheese, and bun, but it didn't even have cheese. It also seemed like it originally had lettuce and tomato on it--the bottom bun was soggy and had small remnants left on it. At that point, it would've made more sense to just replace the bun entirely. The second burger had cheese when it wasn't supposed to and was missing onions. I also paid extra to upgrade to onion rings, and they came out overcooked and lacking flavor. Between the long wait, lack of attention from staff, and multiple mistakes in a simple order, this was a frustrating experience. read more

Told them that we had asked for a plain hamburger when they brought it back they had just removed everything but the cheese. I feel like I ordered the wrong burger and sandwich, because both were super super super salty. I'm not the one to complain, but seriously, it was more salt than anything else. The coleslaw, didn't help, there was no taste of Cajun at all and it's called a Cajun burger. I was very disappointed. Even the beers were mediocre. The service was not good either, as a server your job is not to tell me how "unfortunate" you are because you are still working there. Probably one of the worst burgers I've ever had. Definitely not worth the $17. The side salads we ordered with our meals were lacking. Apparently they have nothing in the kitchen other than ranch dressing. It would've been nice to know that. The service, well, I believe our server's name was Ava. I don't think she said 10 words to us the whole night. I'm pretty sure I ran out of my drink halfway through my meal never got a refill. She didn't come check on us once we had to get up go to the bar and ask for any condiments to eat with our meals. About the only thing decent about this restaurant was the ambience, but even that left a lot to be desired maybe better service from the employees could've changed that for the better. Maybe hire some employees that actually want to earn the tips that they're supposedly working for. With all that being said, I can say that I will definitely never return here and would be surprised if they're open another six months. would not recommend. I ordered a cheese-less burger and not to my surprise, it had cheese on it. Did they not read the ticket right? Just saying, since many people have allergies. So I wasn't surprised about it.. but I was surprised of the hair on our fry. It wasn't even from their head so much worse. So glad I always inspect my food for these type of moments! Place wasn't too busy and there was a larger table than us that came in, got food, paid, and left before we even got our food. One of our burgers was without cheese and cold, after waiting 45 min we expected hot food! The burger they fixed took less than 2 min to come to the table so I'm not sure what took so long for 5 burgers. We also had to wait a while for our check and then to be able to pay. Man this place has a tasty burger! I got the BBQ burger and it was great. Meaty and juicy. Just how it should be. The tots were crispy and good too. One of my kids got a plain hotdog and it was also meaty and good. I was a bit surprised at the lack of veggie options, especially in a college town. My other hesitation is the price. It's getting pretty expensive to eat out and although Brown Bag Burger has great burgers, I don't think I could justify eating here very often if I lived nearby. Thank goodness a place that has some parking. This is apparently a chain which I didn't know. We walked in for lunch on a Friday to a relatively empty restaurant. We ordered plenty of food from the very friendly staff and had a seat at the clean booths. We ordered Philly fries and onion rings for the table. I enjoyed the thick onion rings and wished we'd been given more of the delicious beer mustard served with it. The fries were average and could have been covered in more cheese sauce and toppings. They were out of Mac and cheese balls despite only having been open for about an hour. My family ordered a Diablo burger while I had the Fungus Amongus. I don't believe the meat is very high quality or perhaps it's just because it was slightly overcooked. My mushroom burger was very greasy though that may have been in part due to the blue cheese. Unfortunately that nice blue cheese also overpowered any of the other flavors on my burger. I had a side of fried pickles. The crunchy coating was perfect but the pickle is so thinly cut it got kind of overpowered by the breading (ratio needs work). My husband found this place on Yelp and wanted to come here when we went hiking in Flag for the weekend. It was not busy at all on Saturday afternoon, so we ordered at the bar and sat at a table right away. It's kind of a mix of fast-casual and sit-down, since you order at the bar/register, and then go to a table. It took about 20 min for all of our food to come out, so definitely not fast. We ordered fried pickles as our appetizer, and unfortunately, they came out with our burgers. We were hoping to snack on them beforehand. They are thin spears of pickles fried to crispy perfection. Their only downside is that they aren't served with any sauce! We asked for some ranch, and our server brought us one small container of ranch and one small container of chipotle ranch. The ranch was an excellent pairing, but the chipotle ranch didn't quite go with the seasoning on the pickles. It was, however, perfect for the fries! For my burger, I opted for the Cajun. The meat itself is great quality, juicy, and flavorful itself. I found myself wishing it was actually blackened like the menu states. It was super messy with all of the sauces and coleslaw. The taste of the overall burger was average for me, but my husband really liked it. He got the fungus amungus burger - mushrooms and bleu cheese were the main ingredients. He really enjoyed it! I've eaten at Brown Bag Burger Prescott many times, and have been anticipating trying their Flagstaff location! Burgers are definitely their niche, with 14 on the menu, which includes a BYOB. On our first visit to this location, we had the Green Chili Queso Burger, Fried Pickles, Lavender Lemonade, and the Mango Madre. I requested red onions be added to the burger. The queso was perfect on this burger, and it was cooked to a perfect medium. I love, love, love fried pickles, and we're happy to see that they used spears instead of rounds. Some were a little too thick, but most were just perfect. I think they need to focus on size consistency. Loved the spicy sauce they had for dipping! When I ordered I asked which cocktails were not too sweet, and the Lavender Lemonade was recommended. When I took a sip, it was so tart it really was not drinkable. When my food was delivered, by the manager I believe, I told him about the drink, and he apologized that they didn't have the usual mixer. I wish I had been told that prior to them making it, but it was graciously replaced. I chose the Mango Madre, which was absolutely delicious, and not too sweet! You can grab menus at the bar, and once you've decided, that's where you order as well, but they also have a QR code at your table that you can use to place your order. We were there around 2 PM, so they were not too busy, but I'm sure they get busy later in the day and the location has good, but limited seating. Unfortunately, they only have 2 two-seat tables outside. I wish they had more room for outdoor dining. They have plenty of parking in the underground garage if you can't find one in the parking lot by the restaurant. Looking forward to coming back, especially to try happy hour! PAPA GOT A BRAND NEW BAG The Godfather of Soul would have high notes about this place. It ain't no drag, James, Brown Bag has some serious burgers. I Feel Good.. about this new burger spot. And I knew that I would. So good. So Good. 'Cause I got Two... burgers. Burgers are their main schtick and they did not disappoint. The burgers were big and hearty with depth of different flavors layered throughout, hitting your palette on all levels. The thing that was a big deal to me was that the buns stood up to the burger. With all the toppings, the buns could easily get soggy and disintegrate in your hands, but the buns did not fail like 40% of NAU students that get admitted to the college. THE HAWAIIAN BURGER- Pineapple on pizza is a great debate and pineapple on a burger falls in that realm. So if you don't like the fruit and cheese combo, you can say ALOHA to The Hawaiian. But if you DO like a touch of sweet with savory, then you can also say ALOHA to The Hawaiian Burger. The pineapple on my burger was not even grilled or least, did not taste like it. I wish it was more grilled to get that caramelization. THE HANGOVER BURGER- breakfast for dinner or dinner for breakfast? Either way, you don't have to be hungover to eat it. But if you were, it would probably hit the spot. In a lot of ways, this burger represents the students of NAU. The tater tots in the burger were like the students attending the Lumberjack football game, smashed but not very noticeable. The egg yolk was fire and had that insta-worthy drip, like the NAU kids trying to show out on a Saturday night downtown. Then there's the sriracha mayo and pepper jack cheese; it can be a tad spicy like some of the students driving on the road. SWEET POTATO FRIES- Very crispy which I like. Sweet potato fries are often too soft because they are on the flimsy side. These were crispy even as they cooled. FRIED PICKLES- One of the great bar food innovations of the modern century, I have had quite an array of fried pickle variations. This was a nice break from the common version of battered pickle rounds. I like that the fried pickles were long strips like French fries with an ultra crunchy, crispy cornmeal coating and was good with the zesty dipping sauce. My only critique is that there was not enough pickle. I could not taste the little sliver of pickle to the ratio of the crunchy batter, so it was more like eating some kind of chips. I would probably think twice about getting these again unless there was a substantial amount of pickle This hybrid restaurant requires you to order at the bar then you sit down and the food is brought out to you. The casual atmosphere in a simple space is a nice place for family meal, a solo stop, group hang-out or even a study session. The vibe is chill and on the Saturday night I came in, it was not loud and noisy with music and patrons blaring in your ear as you would expect a bar to be with all the commotion. But I think it can appeal to the younger and older crowd alike. read more

We were passing through town, making this our overnight stop on a long road trip. Something simple felt right so we gave BBB a try. It did not disappoint!!! If we lived here this would be a fave for sure. The burgers were so good!! Had the Hawaiian Burger and the flavors were so integrated to create something unique with a reliable fave at the same time. My wife got the classic cheeseburger and said it was very good too! My sweet potato fries were fantastic! The right amount of crispy without being over done. Our server was delightful and helpful. She did a great job. The vibe of the place is hip but not trying too hard so it is a comfortable and casual atmosphere that makes you feel welcome!
