See what I mean!!! this so called business is a sham!! The Vento Triton engine is called the anomaly engine and why ladies and gentlemen do they call this the anomaly? I will tell you because as you can see this company obviously does not have any idea what the hell they are doing. It is called a anomaly because it is a 4 stroke 139QMB engine housing with 2 stroke engine parts, the crankshaft, bearings, variator setup, clutch and so on and all the internal and transmission parts are used today in the 1E40QMB engine in otherwords "YAMAHA" LOOK IT UP FOLKS!!! QJ139QMB ANOMALY ENGINE INTERNAL PARTS!! Educate yourself because these guys will try and pull a fast one on ya!! Now what else do you have to say Owner GRAM????? OH and by the way I had a friend call them on their cell phone and ask what the owners name was at that store and they said GRAM!!!! This guy can chatter box all he wants and lie lie lie but lets see how much lying he does in court. I already talked to a lawyer in Lansing and told him the whole story. My Son heard it My wife heard it My sons friend who lives down the street heard it and my buddy Ted also heard everything on speaker phone. The lawyer said that you my friend are at a loss because I have all the receipts and more than enough witnesses wo heard every lie you had for the past 3 months and as for the refund he is talking about RIGHT?? HE OFFERED TO PAY ME BACK NOTHING EXCEPT THE ENGINE THAT I GAVE HIM NEW IN THE BOX OVER 3 1/2 MONTHS AGO KNOWING THAT I COULD NOT RETURN IT AN WAS USELESS TO ME!! There you go folks that is his guarantee. Some off the wall instore crap that I never even heard of. I brought the motor into you to be fixed ....remember you idiot?? Here folks!! didn't take long to find this. here is a satisfied customers review from 2009. Does anything look familiar? Terrible Service. Even less knowledge of scooters. I brought in my scooter in late October for service. 4 Months after being lied to repeatedly that it would be finished in x amount of time, I finally got it back. They told me parts were hard to find for the motor. I went online, and within 20 minutes found everything I needed to rebuild the bike from top to bottom including motor, wheels, side covers, etc. What made things even worse, the guy repairing these has no idea what he's talking about half the time. He has a very basic knowledge of how to tear down the motors (it's not hard) and thats where it ends. He told me my stock 50cc scooter was running at 13,000 RPMs. I know this is not possible because I've been around 2 stroke motors and have come to know that racing scooters with big bore kits and extreme transmission modifications run at approx. 13-15,000 rpms. Of five stars, they lose one for terrible knowledge of their services. I wanted my tires and oil changed. When I told them the size of the tire, they told me I was reading the size wrong and "that isn't how a tire size should sound" even though I was reading from my manual and they are certified to service my brand of scooter. They said they would look it up and call me later that day. Four hours later, just before closing, I finally called them and bought my own tires from their tire provider that took me all of three minutes to find The second star they lose for their slow processing of orders. I filled out a service report using their START program online and four weeks in and no one has contacted me. I assumed there was a website problem, but it just gets worse The third star, they lost for their horrible customer service. When I arrived, they had no record of my scheduled oil change though I'd called them twice. When I returned to pick up my scooter, the guy behind the register ignored me completely and spent 10 minutes (yes I timed it) talking to a friend who had stopped in to visit about how scooters were stolen in the area because they are high value items. When his friend finally walked away, I payed for my repair work and was told it would take about another 20 minutes to finish. Before I even knew the transaction was finished, the guy started talking to his friend again and completely ignored me when I asked him about my receipt. I didn't get a single thank you or have a nice day. The final straw, their fourth lost star is for something horribly unprofessional. When I returned after approximately 25 minutes for my scooter, I saw that they had left it outside in the rain. This isn't a big deal. My issue is that they left the keys IN THE IGNITION. The scooter wasn't locked or secured in any way, and the keys were literally sitting in the ON position. All someone had to do was push the power start button and they could drive away with my scooter. I went inside to give them a piece of my mind and a different guy behind the counter blew me off, saying he was watching it through the window. Considering the number of tacky cardboard signs in the window, he must have some pretty good x-ray vision. And he must be really fast since he planned to stop whoever tried to leave with it, even though he'd never seen the owner. They do get one star though. because I can't rate them any lower, and technically the repairs did get done. So good job on that I guess read more

Terrible company to deal with. Purchased my first scooter through them and was not the least bit pleased. The scooter stalls randomly and does not start up properly. After calling and leaving a message and them not getting back to me and then stopping in the shop and the mechanic giving me a hard time, I finally stopped in 3 days later and caught the guy who claims to be the 'owner' in the shop. He claimed that he was "just about the call me" which we both knew was a lie. I told him I wanted a refund and he proceeded to tell me that all of the issues I was having was normal. I insisted on a refund and he began to be incredibly condescending and said that I was returning it for personal family issues. Even if this was so, he was in no position to bring my personal life into it as an excuse for his terrible machine. After that he told me he would have a check sent over for the purchase amount minus the 20% restocking fee. It wasn't 20 minutes after I left that he called me to tell me the amount we agreed on was wrong and I had to explain the very basic math it took to get to the refund amount and tell him the amount we initially decided was indeed the correct amount. He also goes to tell me that he can refund the amount to my card and I do not have to pick up a check. being the 'owner', you'd think he would have known this. After this discussion on a thursday, the next wednesday the refund was still not on my card. I had to call and speak to him again and he immediately blamed it on his bookkeeper. Personally as the customer, I do not care who's fault it is. Just take care of it. After the refund came through two days later, it was for 20 dollars short of what we had agreed. I then had to call again and tell him. This time he blamed it on the credit card company. One that my family business personally deals with as well, so I know this isn't a fee that they would have taken out. He told me is i wanted the 20 dollars I would have to come in and get it. Being an MSU college student, I do not have a lot of free transportation to get there. Not to mention with work and school I don't have much time to get there. He did not want to send it to my credit card or anything. He was very unaccommodating. THE OWNER OF THIS COMPANY DOES NOT KNOW WHAT CUSTOMER SERVICE IS. If he truly is the owner, I feel bad for anyone who is stuck doing business with them. He is very unappreciative and unhelpful. Just a money greedy man who can never be wrong. read more

***This company claims to be BBB accredited (Better Business Bureau) but the BBB website says they are not.*** My scooter was running a little slower than usual and the headlight was out so I brought it to Campus Scooter to have it fixed. 2 weeks later, they haven't gotten to it yet. 3 weeks later I called and they said it was ready. I test drive the scooter and it performs exactly the same as when I dropped it off. They charge me $200 for labor and parts and I tell them to keep the scooter until it is fixed. Finally, on the 4th week, they tell me my scooter is ready and to come test it. It is STILL RUNNING SLOW. The mechanic takes it outside, puts it on the stand and revs it at full throttle for a minute straight (terrible for scooter, no load on the engine). He then removes the snorkel from the airbox and says it had a flow problem. The scooter ran better after that. I get charged another $150 in parts and labor. The headlight still never was fixed. I had a slow scooter and a burned out headlight. 4 weeks, $350, and much frustration later, my scooter runs but still has a headlight out. The workers seemed frustrated with me whenever I was dissatisfied and I felt like they did not want to work with me. They told me my scooter was ready and I made many trips to test it, each time it had been unchanged. I felt robbed. If you take your scoot here, realize they are going to put in minimum effort and take their sweet time "fixing it". "Fixing" here means if there is something wrong with a part, don't fix it, replace it completely. At the end of the day, you're out way more money and time than necessary. I will not be going here again. If 0/5 stars was an option, I would choose that. read more

I am MORE than pleased with the service I received from these folks! I brought in my scooter that had been worked on by "backyard mechanic" who had really messed my scooter up. Within a few minutes of my explaining the issues I was having with her, Brian said he thought there would be no problem fixing her. After a few days I called to check on her and spoke with Graham who assured me that they would get to her in a few days. When I dropped her off since it was early February, I told them not to rush with her and at that time they told me they DID have a couple scooters ahead of me. Within just two weeks of my dropping her off she was fixed and ready to be picked up. They were MORE than helpful in sending me an estimate via e-mail and put up with my MANY phone calls-ALWAYS returning my call within 12 hours. I am extrememly pleased with their customer service and their patience with all my questions. They even loaded her up into my friend's pick-up when I went to pick her up! I for sure will pass these folks name around for anyone else that needs a scooter repair and will certainly use them again if I have any issues. read more

Only go based on Yelp reviews since they can't delete them. Very shady shop. Over charged me $100. The owners daughter is very bitter which is the red head girl. It seems if your white and privileged you will have no problem coming here, but notice if your a minority they will treat you different. I bought mopad from here brand new so I had the so called 2yr warranty and they still charged me for the light bulbs when they burned out. If your a minority please be careful when coming to this shop because you will be treated different and they will over charge you and take over a month to do an oil change. And please be cautious of all these 5 star reviews on google alot of them are the employees them selves. The owners daughter needs to be fired along with the mechanics because what they do to some customers is uncalled for. But because it's a family owned business nothing will ever happen. read more

This place has been nothing but good to me over the last two years ive been doing business with them. They have done outstanding work on my scooter and made it run the way i wanted it too. They know me on a first name basis and always great me with a smile when i walk in. The mechanic knows what he is talking about and if you explain to him what you want outa your scooter he will give it to you and more. I will be buying a second moped from campus scooter and they worked with me and helped me decided which one was best for my needs. I have nothing bad to say about them and they always have the scooter done when they say itll be done and will warn you if its going to take longer than expected. 5 stars for there customer service and because they know what they are doing when they fix your scooter. read more

I had a great experience with campus scooter. I gave them a few calls before I even went into the store, to try to figure out what could be wrong with my 2 year old scooter. Colin was really nice over the phone and walked me through what it could be, and how much each would potentially cost. They even can pick your scooter up if you need them to!! Turns out I only had a leaky gas line, and it only cost $25 to fix. They were really nice and answered all of my questions. This was the first time I've ever needed to take my scooter in, and I plan on taking it back to campus scooter if I ever need to again. read more

Campus Scooter is pretty good. I had a problem starting the scooter I bought from them a couple weeks ago and actually left a pretty scathing review on here, but they called me up the next day and said they could come pick up the scooter to fix it. Turns out the scooter had a messed up gas gauge and showed that there was still gas left, but the tank was bone dry. I still didn't like that the scooter had a messed up gas gauge and screwed up within the first 30 days, but they are pretty attentive and willing to help. read more

Just clocked 5,000 miles on my scooter and it's still running like a top! I would definitely recommend Campus Scooter to anyone looking for affordable, low-maintenance transportation. I have been getting over 90mpg and all I've had to do is change the oil and spark plug each spring and fill it with gas. Campus Scooter is the shadiest business in all of Lansing. Every person I dealt with was dishonest. The grease ball that tried to fix my new scooter a week after I bought it charged me $55 for a part that he said would be covered by warranty. I knew going in that buying a scooter would be a horrible investment but I did not expect it to break after the first week. Haven't bough a scooter from them, but from someone who had. I've only brought it in twice, once for a tune up and once for the kickstart breaking, which is common in mopeds.
