This restaurant has been a fixture in Huntington for as long as I can remember! Prompt service with a laid back atmosphere. Always very clean and the staff is super accommodating. The food,though! It's amazing! Made fresh to order. I love all of the food I've ever ordered from Dan's Ham. Although I haven't tried everything, the name of the business says it all! They have an exremly popular Sugar Flaked Ham Sandwich, served warm and topped with lettuce and their own special"ham sauce". Highly recommended by my entire family. I am going to be straight up about this review and preface by saying I was born in Huntington. Everything about this relic reminds me of my childhood. When I travel 'home' that is the first place I take my grandma to when I arrive and she still loves it! They have an extensive menu but there are truley only two items you need to order; the Original sugar flaked ham sandwich and their world reknown onion rings. Not the healthiest foods by any means but out of this world. I think it has been there for about 500 years along with the same waitstaff aside from the couple college students that wait tables briefly before flunking out of Marshall University. I have a trip planned in a couple months to return to Huntington and see the fam. I cannot wait for Cam's Ham. (rhyme everytime) read more

The restaurant specializes in ham and they do it extremely well. The ham and cheese sandwich I had was delicious. I had 4 other people with me and they all stated the food was great. Friendly service from everyone inside. If you visit you have to try the onion rings. read more

Let's discuss.. The ham, amazing. The onion rings, hot and crispy. The fries, salty and golden. But, those things alone aren't gonna give you a 5 star review... what gives the 5 star review is two different things. 1) the staff- the staff were all friendly and smiling, offering anything they could to make our visit exceptional, they did just that. 2) the sauce- that special dressing/sauce on the ham sandwich with the lettuce is what changed the world for me here, it's a sweet and delicious sauce, when I first ordered it, I asked for sauce on the side as I normally just eat the ham with a bun and that's it. So happy I did get the sauce as the entire side of sauce was down my throat along with the sandwich as it just gave the sandwich that much more flavor. Cam's Ham was the first restaurant I tried when we moved here. My boyfriend had been telling me about it for months. This is now one of our favorite restaurants. Cam's Ham was one of the places my husband said we "had' to visit when we were recently visiting Huntington. It was a blast from the past--both in a general sense (I doubt the decor or menu or prices have changed in decades) and for my husband, who grew up nearby. We ordered takeaway for 5 people, and probably spent less than $35.00. Amazing. Even more amazing was the fact that I loved the famous flaked ham sandwich. I've never been a particular fan of ham, so I expected to just have to grin and bear the consumption of said flaked ham sandwich, but it was actually delicious. read more

Cam's Ham is Legendary in the town of Huntington. Totally cool old school vibe and decor. Looks the same as it did in the 70's before I left town. Hope they never change it. I hate to be the person leaving a bad review seeing as how I had never eaten here until yesterday and was super excited about it... The server was miserable acting, my cams ham original sandwich wasn't anything special I feel like I could have made something better at home and it had two huge hairs running straight through it that I almost ate... The onion rings were more less fried onions as the batter was falling off and the Rings crumbled to pieces .. They reminded me of something dumped out of a bag from a discount grocery store... I was born and grew up in the tri-state area. I worked in Huntington for 10 years and was a frequent diner at Cam's. LOVED IT! I left town for the west coast in 1979. This week I'm back visiting and my brother insisted we go to Cam's. All I could think about was how delicious those sandwiches and onion rings used to be. Cam's Ham is one of my favorite spots in Huntington. I've never had a bad meal there and the service is always the best. I highly recommend to anyone who hasn't had it, to get the Cam's Ham Original. We read other reviews and thought we would try Cam's Hams. I think it is the kind of place that if you grew up with it, you are sentimental about it. I did not grow up with it and the special thing about it was the price. It is inexpensive. This is a classic! Cam's ham is cheap, super fast, and hits the spot when you are craving that sweet ham taste with the homemade special sauce that always drips everywhere. The onion rings are fantabulous. The to-go counter takes about 30 seconds flat, and I'm pretty sure you could come in your PJ's and be gone before anyone even noticed.
