First thing, finding good pizza anywhere in UP, Fircrest, and Lakewood is a roll of the dice. Most…read moreplaces are hit or miss with the exception being Casa Mia. I try to find places that are consistent from order to order before I write a post. That being said this is the first time that I ordered pizza from Westside since new management took over after Covid. In the past, this pizza was pretty good. Toppings were consistent from pizza to pizza with plenty of meat and vegetable toppings just like you'd expect from anybody that you order pizza from. Last night I ordered the same pizza that I normally get from anyone of the pizzerias around this area and found that Westside Pizza really needs some work. Their Hawaiian pizza was supposed to have double Canadian bacon, double pineapple and double cheese, and what I got was a single layer of ham on top of the sauce that was paper thin and about 4 cups of pineapple along with their extra cheese. The Westside combo was no different, plenty of vegetable toppings and no meat. I couldn't taste the pepperoni and had to go looking for it. There it was, paper thin, sitting on top of the sauce causing a sloppy wet mess. Most pizza has a small layer of cheese to hold the toppings in place and this was missing in both pizzas. If you're going to put extra cheese on the pizza, you have to put some down on the sauce before you lay your toppings. What I'd like to see from Westside Pizza is their pizza cooked a little longer, cheese added on top of the sauce, so it's not soggy, and a consistent amount of meat and vegetables that complement each other versus one topping over powering the rest of the pizza. I never want to ask "where's the meat"? The one positive that I could take away from Westside Pizza is their sauce. It has its own unique flavor that you won't find elsewhere. I know this pizzeria is struggling to stay open and I would like to see them stay afloat. Hopefully more people will come here and give a legitimate review of the pizza and hopefully they'll make some changes to satisfy their customers.

I'm giving this place 5 stars even though it's been inconsistent. Because when the pizza is good…read moreit's really good. Service is also always friendly and they're fast. Plus love to support local shops over big chains (I know this is not their only location but I just mean it's not dominos or Pizza Hut) For the record I have only had from their pepperoni pizza and cinnastix consistently. The first time I had their pizza around a year ago I was not very impressed by it but I was blown away by their cinnamon sticks. Best ever. I didn't order from them again til 2 weeks ago because it's so close to our house and again, wanted to support local and I didn't plan on eating it anyways. I was ordering it for kids. For a large pepperoni and cinnamon sticks. BUT THIS TIME the pizza was AMAZING!!! I'm talking perfect. I couldn't believe how much it had improved. Last night I ordered from the deals menu (amazing deals) 3 items $7.99 each. Cheapest way to order what we were getting. 2 medium pep and an order of bone in buffalo wings. The pizza last night was lacking. And honestly I think it's because a large pizza is just stretched out more so it tastes better (5x better). The wings looked and smelled great but weren't for me so I have no review on them but the kid who ate them literally ate to the bone so I'm guessing they were 10/10. Now here's the bum part of this review. I also ordered another set of wings, boneless with bbq sauce. And the bbq sauce was near nonexistent. See pics. My son actually thought there was no sauce til we saw it hiding under one nugget (let's face it, boneless wings are just nuggets and don't deserve to be called wings). The wings looked good and he ate them but luckily we bbq sauce we could add to them. Kind of ironic too because they open up all the pizza and dessert boxes for you at pickup to show you your order is right but they didn't with the wings. So just letting you guys know to check your wings before you walk out! All in all I will order from them again, for sure. The sauce is good and I am not even a marinara fan but they do it right here, pepperoni which I hate to love is perfect, the cheese is heavy and gooey. I just think it needs to be tossed on a large to get the best quality. Even the wings we will order again. They seem to have great bundle deals so I would check out that tab before just ordering straight off the menu. Realized I have a desire for cherry Pepsi cola now after ordering from this place (but it must be in a .91cent can, which is so cheap right!)

I ordered the spicy pineapple and the supreme. I very much enjoyed both. I wish the spicy pineapple was a bit more spicy. There was hot sauce on it but it didn't have a big punch. The supreme... Wow. The toppings on it were phenomenal. Every bite had a great amount of topping without it being too much. I most definitely will be back to try their other pizzas. I really liked the design of their pizza box. It is a fun idea that you can make a pizza bib with the top of the pizza box. The inside of the restaurant was clean with ample seating. The service, for takeout, was quick and easy. You order at the counter and the pizzas took maybe 10-15 minutes.

The brisket pizza was the choice of the house today. The bbq sauce was not too tart nor smoky and it paired well with the red onions, brisket and cheese. The crust was flavorful, right amount of chew and crunchiness. The marinara and meatballs came with a side salad and cheese bread (yum!) The marinara was tangy and herby and complemented the meatballs. The Mediterranean salad was a great combo of baby greens, feta, red onion, pepperoncini, artichoke hearts and tomatoes with a balsamic vinaigrette. Huge portion as well! All in all I would highly recommend Puget Sound Pizza!

It's kind of a shame we didn't make it here much sooner as I believe I had it bookmarked for a long time! After reviewing the menu as I was about to write this review I see that the menu tends to change. I don't know how often but a few items from the online menu versus when what we saw when we were there (and vice versa) were different. But that kind of keeps things interesting and fun! We ordered the Luigi pizza and really liked it a lot! Excellent dough and we had some hot honey and dipping sauces on the side. All house made from the sound of it. And it really seemed to reflect that too as the pizza and all of it's ingredients tasted quite fresh! We ordered a pint of Rogue beer which is a brewery that just went under so best grab up their beer at establishments before it's gone for good. They had a pumpkin beer that was quite good from that brewery. The atmosphere is fun... a little bit of the dive bar vibe going on in a good way as well as quirkiness in decor. The waitress and bartender was super sweet and congenial which rounded out this review with a solid five star score from me!
