No idea about the food,but during our visit there was a lot of takeaway activity.For the service I would give five stars.Even though the bar room is very small our bartenders were very keen to serve.I didn't care much for the draft selection,so it was cans and bottles for the most part,for the five of us.There are several TV's tuned into sports.Two rooms for pool players,three tables total.Okay,there are dive bars and there are dive bars.What makes this place such a stunner in this category,is their toilets.If you're disabled,forget this place...not wheelchair friendly and if you're a shy man,don't bother!The urinal and toilet are side by side...no door lock or screen.No privacy.Rather sad.Place is run down and unkempt...not a return destination for me or my friends. read more

Ooooh! I really like the Tipsy Tomato and so glad Steve and I gave it a try! We were losing some good pizza restaurants that we had reserved in the back of our mind around town either due to ownership changes or closures so we were in much need of finding a new and yummy pizza place! It's kind of a shame we didn't make it here much sooner as I believe I had it bookmarked for a long time! After reviewing the menu as I was about to write this review I see that the menu tends to change. I don't know how often but a few items from the online menu versus when what we saw when we were there (and vice versa) were different. But that kind of keeps things interesting and fun! We ordered the Luigi pizza and really liked it a lot! Excellent dough and we had some hot honey and dipping sauces on the side. All house made from the sound of it. And it really seemed to reflect that too as the pizza and all of it's ingredients tasted quite fresh! We ordered a pint of Rogue beer which is a brewery that just went under so best grab up their beer at establishments before it's gone for good. They had a pumpkin beer that was quite good from that brewery. The atmosphere is fun... a little bit of the dive bar vibe going on in a good way as well as quirkiness in decor. The waitress and bartender was super sweet and congenial which rounded out this review with a solid five star score from me! read more

First time going to Tipsy Tomato tonight. Bar Tender was awesome! Great drinks. Ordered the "Chef's Special Salad" to go. 40 minutes later we were told that a pizza was made instead of a salad. 50 minute and chef shows up with what appeared to be a half salad in a normal bowl. Acts like a jerk when mistake was pointed out and tries to blame the mistake on the Bar Tender. Goes in back and dumps salad into a to go container. Chef JOSH sucks! $18 salad??? Stop smoking your breakfast and read your orders. Don't blame your mistakes on other people and don't be a jerk when you mess up. I will go back, but I'll make sure to ask if Josh is working before ordering any food. Awful experience with JOSH. read more

Tipsy tomato reminds as if someone had a garage and pushed everything to the side put in 4 pool tables & a bar everytime I'm here tho it's a good time and strong cheap drinks! Food okays I've only ever had 1 pizza though always been to scared to try the "let's get weird" section but have heard good things. Although I will say this weekend a coworker had a birthday here and called a week in advance to give a heads up & I think it was poor management only scheduling one bartender I believe her name was Kasey, she was very overwhelmed and you could tell it was way too much for her to handle. Towards the end she got extremely rude which I understand to be overwhelmed and stressed being the only one and there was about 40 people in the bar but hospitality completely went out the window. If there was a 2nd or 3rd person there I think this could've been avoided. read more

What a hidden neighborhood gem. Googled "sports bar near me" and up came the Tipsy Tomato. I had driven by many times but never knew that it would have delivered such a unique experience. The owner, chef and bartender (all wrapped into one) explained how the "Let's get weird" section worked. What a pleasant surprise when we ordered a 3 with no black olives or extra spicy ingredients and out came one of the most delicious pizzas I have ever had. Sourdough thin crust, garlic parmesan sauce, chicken, bacon, feta, asparagus and wait for it...honey Dijon potato chips. You should let the experts create a pizza for you. read more

Yesterday was a hell of a day, car broke down and waited for a tow. I decided to wait at this wonderful place because it was 11pm and nothing else was open. The bartender Dezi was so kind, I don't drink so she gave me a Cran Juice but asked if she could add raspberry essence to it, I said "Let's do it"... That took me to a whole new level and order food. It came out quickly and it was delicious! They have some interesting ingredients if you are willing to try it out, including Spaghettio's and Spam! When my ride finally arrived, Dezi said "Girl, tonight is on me, you has enough bad stuff happen".... Absolutely not, I paid my tab plus more. The pizza was pretty good but took a while after ordering. Limited beers on tap but a good selection of bottles and cans. Service was acceptable but it felt like the job was more of a hobby than a job. In my opinion when you see my beer level low it's time to ask about the next one and I had to ask for another beer. I stopped in here this afternoon. I've driven by several times and noticed it, but today I finally stopped. It's really big inside, which was nice. I hate feeling crammed into a space. The woman who served me was extremely friendly. She explained the menu and I decided to try the cheese bread and a veggie calzone with cheese, tomato sauce, pineapple, sweet peppers, onion, tomato, and cashews. It was fantastic!!!! I mean really, really good. They have super fun toppings, as well as your standard ones and you can get any of them on a pizza, calzone, sandwich, or salad. The dough is delicious. I really like this place and will definitely be back soon and also for take out, so my little can try it, too. read more

First timer at the TT. My little fam does Friday pizza nights and during Covid quarantine, we have been making our rounds to all of the Tacoma area pizzerias. So, naturally, TT was on the list. Easy to order. Found the menu on yelp, called it in, ready to pick up within 25 minutes. We got a standard pepperoni pizza (because that's what our 3-year-old likes) and a modified Bougie -- we subbed roasted garlic for the shallots and artichoke hearts for the seasonal vegetable. YUMMMMM. I easily ate (downed?) four slices. The kiddo ate at least 2. Hubs probably ate 3 or 4. Not very much left for tomorrow. Oh well -- very tasty! This coveted neighborhood dive bar is definitely a big miss. The food, not great at all, their pizza is pretty bad, my Toddlers lunchable pizzas taste better. Now for the worst part! The Drinks! The beer is warm, no matter if it comes from the tap or fridge. No cold glasses to help either. What a shame. The three times we have went the bartenders (different people each time) could not even make a good simple drink. Want a whiskey and coke? Good luck, it tasted like ash tray. Whiskey sour? You mean a squeeze of lemon, probably pre squeezed but I didn't see, no simple syrup and then a shot and nasty tasting ice. From the outside you'd never know this is a great place for awesome and truly unique pizza. Beyond the standard pizza choices is the option to choose how "weird" you want yours to be (I think on a scale from 1-5) and then let the chef get creative. This place is amazing. I am a sucker for dive bars and this one did not disappoint. My friends and I came in last night as first-timers and I can tell you we will be back. This place is big, 3 pool tables, plenty of seating, skee-ball, darts, TVs to watch sports, an internet juke box and fantastic food. We ordered pizzas and sandwiches and everything was great. So I've had tipsy tomato's pizza many times and it's always been just fantastic which is why I gave this review three stars and not a one. But tonight's to go order was a hard one, usually we get the Bougie and it's so damn delicious please try it. We ordered a half pep half cheese for pick up, which was ready in 20-25minutes, perfect! I was so sad to see we got a very very over cooked pizza. I really do love this place, but I won't be doing to go orders anymore. I used to come here a lot with friends and play bingo. It used to be a fun spot however they let their staff drink on the job and they treat some of their customers really bad, unless they are a regular. First bad experience was a bartender being upset that people didn't tip her the amount she wanted and yelling, cursing at people. Then another worker, whom was drunk, threatened my simply partner for asking him to chill because he was drunk and says he will put hands on her if he sees her, who does that? Anyway this place needs either new management or a serious redo of staff because that type of behavior is beyond unacceptable. I will never go back there again and will happily tell everyone not to as well. read more

Solid food, excellent customer service (from Dez!) and great drink options. Very chill dive. They make their own sauces from scratch so all of our pizzas and salads were really well made and even though the four of us ordered completely different pizzas we all agreed that their flavors were on point. They stop serving food at 1am and close at 2am, so it worked out as a perfect place to grab delish dinner after a long day of hiking Olympic. They also had a few pool tables in case you're looking for things to do, but we did not use them. Highly recommend! read more

I got a take out order from here and was really disappointed. I don't usually leave reviews but my experience was pretty bad. I ordered 2 pizzas on the phone 1 regular cheese and 1 veggie (chefs choice of 3 veggies). They said about 1/2 hour. ok. I go in and there's a handful of people playing pool, at the bar, tables, etc. The place is decent size but split into 2 small rooms, the bar and the pool room.I see my pizzas on the bar by the door when I walk in so I go to that end of the bar. Stand there for minute. I make eye contact with the lady who I presume helped me on the phone working across the bar while she's in between customers. I signal that I called and she asks if I'm Chris. I say yes. I stand there for a couple more minutes. Throughout this she has come right by me more than once to help a couple near me and had not acknowledged me at all. She could have easily ran my card and sent me on my way already. She finally is ready to help me and doesn't even come to where I am at the bar and stands on the opposite end waiting for me to walk over to her. I reluctantly do so. She's pretty friendly but I'm already annoyed with her at this point as she could have taken my card and gave me my pizza a while ago. I pay for the pizzas and she goes to grab them. I start walking back to where I was where the pizzas were to meet her and she starts walking back to the other end where I paid with the pizzas kind of ignoring where I was. Keep in mind this is also the opposite direction of the door. I stop her and tell her she can give them to me here. The whole interaction felt weird but whatever I'm out of there. I get home and open the boxes. The veggie looks good. It's olives and mushrooms which is only 2 toppings and not 3 but it was honestly pretty fire so I'm not worried about it. My "cheese pizza" is covered in pepperoni and keilbasa. I'm vegetarian. So by this time they're closed and I have a whole pizza that's not even close to what I ordered. The veggie pizza was a solid 8.4 but the service was awful and they basically ruined half my order. This has been my only experience and I'm not sure I'll be back. If I do return it definitely won't be on another Monday night. read more
