    Chef's Special Salad???

First time going to Tipsy Tomato tonight. Bar Tender was awesome! Great drinks. Ordered the "Chef's Special Salad" to go. 40 minutes later we were told that a pizza was made instead of a salad. 50 minute and chef shows up with what appeared to be a half salad in a normal bowl. Acts like a jerk when mistake was pointed out and tries to blame the mistake on the Bar Tender. Goes in back and dumps salad into a to go container. Chef JOSH sucks! $18 salad??? Stop smoking your breakfast and read your orders. Don't blame your mistakes on other people and don't be a jerk when you mess up. I will go back, but I'll make sure to ask if Josh is working before ordering any food. Awful experience with JOSH.

The pizza was pretty good but took a while after ordering. Limited beers on tap but a good selection of bottles and cans. Service was acceptable but it felt like the job was more of a hobby than a job. In my opinion when you see my beer level low it's time to ask about the next one and I had to ask for another beer. Liked the dive bar feel and looks like a fun place when the crowd is hopping.

Stopped by before a Rainier's game and the options got pizza toppings are unique. Good customer service and good beer on tap. The local regulars there are also friendly.

Best pizzas I've had in Tacoma. Hand down. Amazing staff and owners too! Lots of things to do there like play pool, Darts, skeeball. They even have meat bingo on some Mondays where you can win meat!

I stopped in here this afternoon. I've driven by several times and noticed it, but today I finally stopped. It's really big inside, which was nice. I hate feeling crammed into a space. The woman who served me was extremely friendly. She explained the menu and I decided to try the cheese bread and a veggie calzone with cheese, tomato sauce, pineapple, sweet peppers, onion, tomato, and cashews. It was fantastic!!!! I mean really, really good. They have super fun toppings, as well as your standard ones and you can get any of them on a pizza, calzone, sandwich, or salad. The dough is delicious. I really like this place and will definitely be back soon and also for take out, so my little can try it, too.

Modified Bougie -- subbed roasted garlic instead of shallots and subbed artichoke hearts for seasonal veggie.

First timer at the TT. My little fam does Friday pizza nights and during Covid quarantine, we have been making our rounds to all of the Tacoma area pizzerias. So, naturally, TT was on the list. Easy to order. Found the menu on yelp, called it in, ready to pick up within 25 minutes. We got a standard pepperoni pizza (because that's what our 3-year-old likes) and a modified Bougie -- we subbed roasted garlic for the shallots and artichoke hearts for the seasonal vegetable. YUMMMMM. I easily ate (downed?) four slices. The kiddo ate at least 2. Hubs probably ate 3 or 4. Not very much left for tomorrow. Oh well -- very tasty! Side note: If you're not a thin crust person, the pizza probably won't be your kind of pizza but the sandwiches and calzones look yummy too!

The food is my favorite part. I can have a beer anywhere, but the food is actually pretty on point minus the nachos, sad to say. Always overcooked, cheese is hardened and well beyond melted, but a massive portion in size. The sandwiches are amazing, the quesadillas are amazing, have yet to make it there before breakfast ends but I'm betting it's probably pretty good. Staff are friendly, efficient, and do well on checking to make sure you're not waiting too long for service without being too bothersome. It gets a little loud, busy and crowded on nights especially on the weekends, but that's typical bar atmosphere. Patio seating is nice on sunny days like today. 5/5 for a hometown spot in the neighborhood.

Easy to have a conversation with, and she kept on using my name throughout the whole experience which I thought was actually a little gem. I ordered the drunken bacon jam burger, which was absolutely delicious but only problem I did not like was the bottom bun was saturated in juice and absolutely fell apart, which was very hard to handle the burger and very messy. That's why I'm giving it four stars is because the burger bread did not hold up at all. The tots were absolutely on par as well as the cold beverage. I went to this restaurant in Tacoma over the weekend. I had actually passed by many times…read morebefore--the eye-catching signage and overall atmosphere always drew me in. Finally got a chance to try it at noon today, and it was a great experience! Environment: The overall vibe is very American. There were TVs on the walls constantly playing various ball games, like today's playoff game between the Thunder and the Lakers. It was pretty busy on the weekend, especially the outdoor seating area, which was almost full. The building is an old structure dating back to the 1900s. Though it shows its age, it's very clean both inside and out--you can tell the owner really cares. Service: Our waitress was very, very friendly and professional. She gave us great recommendations, always served with a smile, checked in on us during the meal, and refilled our water. Very satisfied! Taste: Pizza: There's a funny little story: supposedly, Marco Polo went to China and saw pies, but didn't know how to wrap the filling inside, so he just put it on top--and thus the pizza was born. Personally, I think this is a myth, or many people have started fantasizing about Marco Polo because they think he was too great. But according to various unearthed historical records in China, Marco Polo never actually went to China. In fact, around 2010, more than 20 scholars organized an event called "Retracing Marco Polo's Route." After completing the journey and comparing it to what Marco Polo himself recorded, most of them concluded that he probably never made it to China. Sorry, I have a strong urge to share--went off on a long tangent about Marco Polo. But the pizza was really delicious. It should be truly fire‑baked, not oven‑baked. The sauce was well‑balanced, and the toppings were generous and fresh. My wife and I ate more than half of it! Salad: The dressing and cheese were very generously applied, and the greens were fresh. Chicken wings: They had a pleasant sweet‑savory taste, just right. Unlike most American restaurants where they're too salty or too sweet, these were perfectly balanced. All the dipping sauces were good. Overall, highly recommended!

We'd organized a club event here, and from the moment we arrived it was clear the venue was ready for us. The dining room is expansive, set against a gorgeous golf course backdrop, and it handled our group comfortably without feeling chaotic or cramped. Breakfast was solid across the board, and the kitchen kept pace well given the volume they were managing--no small thing when you're coordinating that many plates at once. One low point was the bacon--it simply wasn't great. Watching the sausage make its way around the other end of the table, I knew I'd made the wrong call. A special mention goes to Becca, who put in real work coordinating this event on the front end and running the show when we arrived. Her diligence made it all work and sets the tone for everything that follows...and it showed. Service throughout was attentive and the feedback from the group was genuinely positive, and if you know Porsche Club people, is a meaningful endorsement. There's also a large patio we'll try and experience the next time when it's warmer. It looked like a fantastic space for the right weather. We're already planning a return visit, and I'd absolutely recommend Urban Elk if you're looking for a venue that can handle a larger group with care and without the usual friction. Or, if you just want to pop into a decent place with nice people and ample parking.
