The walls are covered with portraits of all the queens who have graced the building over the years. It's the type of place where you can just FEEL the history. You can tell it is clearly a very special and well-loved place. Have an occasion coming up? Darcelle's is a fabulous place to celebrate a birthday, wedding, divorce, anything! They have seated drag shows Friday and Saturday nights (followed by the men of Darcelle's strip show!), and a drag brunch show on Sundays (only $32 for breakfast AND a show!). On Tuesday nights they do an open call drag competition and it's only $5 to get in and they have $7 drink and food specials all night. You cannot beat that deal...especially being downtown! He performed with John Gilmore, a vocalist-pianist who shared some Sinatra stories of his own. We really enjoyed the singing, band (amazing saxophonist!), photos, and audience sing-alongs. Tony brings so much joy, humor and personality to his show, as well as a great voice! Often when you go to a dinner theater the show is great and the food is just so-so. Not here! We started out with adult beverages, warm bread, and really good salad. My husband had a delicious chicken Parmesan and I had a tender beef filet served on creamy mashed potatoes with crisp seasoned green beans. Cheesecake was the perfect dessert. The service is friendly and attentive. The venue was a little chilly (it is November) so I would advise you to bring a sweater or wrap if you tend to get cold. Not only was Kevin an absolute gem to work with, he is an amazing entertainer. Kevin, as Poison Waters, created a variety/comedy show (with four additional female impersonators) that kept our event going smoothly, guiding everyone through the night and keeping them laughing/on their toes the whole while. Thanks to Kevin/Poison Waters, the event was a huge success - everyone had an amazing time! I've already had requests from folks in our office to bring Poison Waters (and Friends) back for future events - and I would 100% do just that.
