Absolutely phenomenal! My husband and I stopped by on our last day while visiting Huntsville and these were the best coffees we've ever had no lie. My husband is a great home hobbyist barista so he knows a good bit about how to make good coffee, he makes lattes for us almost daily and they're wonderful but this place blew us away. Their house made sauces were to die for. Hubs is now on a mission to make his own similar caramel sauce to the one they use here. One specific thing that stood out to me with the food was how large and sweet the blueberries on the bagel were. They were phenomenal! As I travel I'm always on the lookout for the local coffee spot that isn't a chain (at least a national one). If you are like me then this is worth a shot. The prices are higher then average but you do need to take into account that you are along the strip on the downtown area. When you are surrounded by financial district and municipal offices you are going to pay a slightly higher premium. Having tried three different local coffee shops in the last three weeks during my stay this one is my favorite to date and the one I would most likely recommend. As to the coffee - The espresso had a nice flavor and was not to acidic. I also tried the chai tea latte. It was good though not great so I would stick to coffee. I ended up going back and adding a shot of espresso to it which rounded it out nicely. They ask if it's for here or to go and if you are staying, they serve in a actual mug that is not styrofoam or plastic. Major points to all the coffee shops that do that. The service was friendly and they were quick even though the place was very busy. After seeing how quickly the food came out for other and trying the coffee out I decided to order breakfast. I gave the hot chicken and biscuit a try. It was worth waiting in line to order again tho a bit small for the price (downtown pricing for food as well as coffee) I also always love a place that names all the plants. Parking was easy in the original [my word] parking garage that has been in downtown HSV forever and was free since we were in/out of the area in less than half an hour. Why no 5th star? Since it was my first time here, I didn't know they had two unisex restrooms, one on each side of the restaurant. Anyway, I was 2nd in line, and had to wait forever at the west side restroom - so long the young lady ahead of me just left. There's 2 seating areas so plenty of space to sit down and do work or just relax and enjoy a coffee. Their drink menu is pretty simple. Syrup options aren't listed but they have a few specialty lattes. They serve breakfast and brunch, so there's different bagels, burritos, oatmeal, etc. I don't normally order hot lattes but it was so cold so I got the bootlegger latte, which has their house-made caramel bourbon sauce. It comes in 2 sizes- 8 oz and 12 oz, but the barista told me they have the same amount of espresso (2 shots) so I got the 8 oz and I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was! Sorry to say, but I really don't like this very popular coffee shop in Huntsville. The only reason I give it more than one star is because the açaí bowl is fantastic, but that's the only good thing I have tried here. Service is always good and ambiance is cute. Lots of people actually go work here, and there's a few tables outside too. Now why did I not like it? Can't say I didn't give it several chances. I have tried lattes and noticed they were always on the acidic side, which I'm not used to. Then one day I decided to try a straight shot of espresso, and sure enough, it was like drinking vinegar, so awful, and that's what they use for the lattes. Last time I stopped by was because a friend who was visiting needed vegetarian breakfast, and they happened to have a vegan burrito, but she only ate half because she was hungry but said it tasted like Hamburger Helper. I've really been wanting to try this place for a while now. Their coffees and açaí bowls always looked amazing. Since it's 70 degrees and they have outdoor seating, we decided to give it a try. It smells amazing as soon as you walk up. They do have a roped line area to allow for social distancing. They are allowing people to sit inside and outside currently. They do have a large outdoor seating area. However, all the tables were dirty and didn't seem like they were cleaning them. I ordered a mocha mint latte and a small Bom Bom açaí bowl. My husband got their Cuban coffee and salmon bagel. The coffees came out first. Salmon bagel came next and then we had to go in and ask about the açaí bowl. They had them Prepped and handed us one, so I am not sure why that took so long. I'll come back but I hope they give me a coffee design next time. read more
