Hamley Bake Shoppe is more than just delicious goodies. It's a locally owned and ran bakery that offer so many delectable treats. They have huge cinnamon rolls, delicious macaroons, wonderful cookies, homemade oatmeal cream pies, and a full coffee bar. The coffee bar is amazing because they have so many different syrups to flavor your coffees. I LOVE that! I was able to get a sugar free white chocolate and pep pint americano and it was so delicious. What I love about Hamley is they are so involved in the community. They have a Harry Potter Day in October time frame and they have all the favorites from Harry Potter, butterbeer, chocolate frogs, Mandrake cupcakes. It is an awesome themed day! They offer order ahead from Thanksgiving and Christmas and take home decorating sugar cookies. This quaint place is decorated beautifully and the staff is so sweet. I will continue to visit this local gem!

Hamley use to be my go-to bakery in Huntsville for different occasions for cakes, cupcakes, chocolate covered pretzels and Oreos. I had good experiences with her until recently. I had her make 1 6" cake, 40 cupcakes, 25 chocolate covered pretzels and 25 chocolate covered Oreos all for my second daughter's 1st birthday. I ask for lemonade flavored cupcakes and a lemon cake with strawberry icing for the 6" cake. Myself and my guest were truly disappointed . Everything tasted bad! The cupcakes were very dry and the 6 inch cake was under baked. I told the owner and she said it was a soak on the cake. However, I know what a cake soak is and that wasn't it. Furthermore, the cupcakes, cake and the icing on both had no flavor. The icing tasted greasy and like Crisco. These cupcakes certainly didn't taste like lemonade flavor. I truly was disappointed with this order. I did reach out to the owner and let her know. She made excuses and said they tasted everything and things weren't dry. I'm not sure when she tried the cakes because everything was dry. The 6" cake was overly moist and over half of it was icing with thin layers of cake (see pictures). You definitely had to eat the cupcakes with ice cream to give it moisture. She also was to caught up by the fact I told her I was a food blogger and had other business owners there and people that trusted my judgement on food places, that she missed the entire feedback message. She thought I was threatening her to blast her on my blog page and Instagram panel. However, I never said that. I simply mentioned she didn't meet expectations and that other people that host parties and take my food advice and follow my lead for whom I hire were there. Owell! Her loss not mine. Her customer service is very poor. Don't waste your time telling her what's wrong. She'll just make excuses and she never offered a discount or to fix the situation. Overall, I was truly disappointed by the products she gave out for the price I paid. I won't use her again!

This was their set up for 30 people at formal tea party!

We rented event space under their 30 people for $150. When we arrive only 12 chairs outside and 8 inside. The flowers and beautiful lighting were dead (see pictures attached) said " storms a few weeks ago damaged things" We had to go two hours before event and buy 6 card tables and decorations... theyN they wanted to charge us an additional $184 because we had come 30 minutes early to set up the tables! Did not receive any serving table or table clothes as promised. Sadly the mgr "Ashleigh" said we saw what they had the place looking like and could have cancelled. They don't have the money to fix it up and suggested I "borrow" the flowers from closed business next door! Regardless of anything else-- they said 3O people on contract not me!

Amazing experience! The staff was so polite. I loved the environment. The strawberry Bellini was so yummy. The blt had the crispiest bacon & good quality lettuce & tomatoes.

Crazy good. Not sure that many bakers are any better. Call ahead at least 3 weeks for cakes. They do have ready made items but not many.

The bagels were…read morepretty good you can tell they were prepared in the traditional boiled manner that results in the chewy outside texture. And they offer just enough Schmear as an extra and will toast it for you. It is a quaint place that offers a place to hang out for a while. The staff was cordial not overly friendly and seemed really focused on the tasks at hand. I would have liked to have had a better breakfast bagel sandwich selection as that is what I was looking for but most of the offerings were on toasted bread.

The breakfast sandwiches and BLT are decently executed, but I'm REALLY not a fan of their bagels. Their bread (particularly the baguette) is fantastic, though. Note: it sells out quickly. You can still pick up your to-go order without having to deal with people. They now have a cute bookshop inside. They make their own cream cheese! Cons: If I'm paying $1.50 for an avocado add on, PLEASE don't let it be oxidized and brown and gross. This makes me sad. Parking is still a nightmare. See above about the bagels. I'm prepared for the hate I'm about to get, but I prefer Bruegger's...which is sad, as I'm sure they're produced and come in frozen. Prices have gone up, but that's to be expected. I would love, however, the option to not add on a side for less moolah. I don't want their straight from the bag chips, random baby carrots, or (somewhat icky) fruit. Depending on the timing, you may be able to get a seat. Or you may be fighting a soccer mom with 4 screaming toddlers just to pick up a to go order. Still a fan, but know what you're getting.

We have so many wonderful options for baked sweets and treats in Huntsville, but I'm happy to report that I can add GHB to my list of recommendations too! This shop is located in the same center as Char, Chop n Fresh, and Chuy's (lots of C names, haha). I do find the parking consistently a little challenging in this shopping center, but there is an adjacent parking deck that makes things a little easier. GHB is on the far end from the street in a corner. The inside of the shop is small but there's a few spots to sit and hang and I did see a gentlemen on a laptop doing just so. I imagine it stays fairly quiet inside so it may be a good place to work or study. They offer freshly baked loaves of bread, deli sandwiches and soups, and sweets, like scones, cookies, and muffins. They have an espresso machine and a coffee menu too. It was hard for me to tell if they offered iced coffee (I don't drink hot coffee usually) as the words on the menu were a little small for me to see without glasses, but next time I go I will ask. Too late in the afternoon anyway. :) The lady who greeted me and rang me up was personable and happy to tell me about the product without overselling or making me feel pressured. I got the impression she was the owner or manager, but I'm not positive. She was lovely. They have a bread board with samples of their bread you can take for free any time you come in. Yay! They are now selling a chocolate chip peanut butter bread that I HAD to taste. It was delicious! Soft and slightly moist with a nice crust. I think if I had to sum up their offerings with one phrase, it would be: "Not too sweet!" This is a plus for me, since it allows you to taste all the other flavors in the product and isn't overwhelming or cloying. The bread wasn't too sweet and would make a great breakfast toast with peanut butter and bananas. Sadly, I didn't buy any loaves of bread because we are very bad about not finishing loaves in my house, lol. What I did buy was a cinnamon scone, a chocolate chip scone, and a carrot and walnut muffin. I saw a yummy looking power bar type of thing on my way out after I paid that looked delicious. Will be back for that. Our favorite item was probably the chocolate chip scone! It was semisweet and soft and delicate without being too crumbly. Really delicious, especially heated up! The carrot and walnut muffin was a sleeper hit! I didn't expect much but honestly it was a great snack! The carrot shreds added a lot of moisture (in a good way!) and a great texture. Plenty of walnuts and a subtly sweet, subtly nutty flavor. The cinnamon scone was also good but not quite as good as the other two items. It was a little on the dry and crumbly side. However, that may be down to our error - we ate it a day or two after purchasing it. I'm sure it was better fresh. I will definitely return for more muffins, scones, and the power/savannah bar! Looking forward to trying new things and hopefully getting an iced coffee too. Plus more samples of chocolate peanut butter bread could never be a bad idea. :) Thanks and well done, GHB!
