    My dinner. Perch and soup.

First off, they were open. Service was quick. The ambiance was great. On of those neighborhoods bar and restaurant. The place was clean. Ordered shrimp tacos from the menu for Peggy for carry out. To be delivered by foot, I order the lake perch from Lake Erie. Thumbs up, I would come here again

I wanted to do a trip to Port Colborne to see the area during this festive time and we had parked just outside this charming restaurant with a nautical theme and decided to get a bite to eat here. I loved that they were decorated for the christmas season and was even more impressed with the signature dishes they create here * BIG FLAVOUR* by far our most fav dish was the Prosciutto Rollatini, it def is a must try dish for anyone who visits. we also enjoyed their Alaskan Walleye Wings ( very fresh & tasty ) and the Lake Earie Perch with the Signature Mushroom soup that had a very Earthy and savoury flavour and unexpected but enjoyable texture that reminded me of almost a mushroom salsa in a mushroom broth the texture was visually lovely to see and the flavour very enjoyable; if your a mushroom lover I think you will enjoy this soup if its on the days menu. I rate this place a 5 for its location, Charm, Friendly Service, and parking my dates words " It was a quaint Nautical themed restaurant, with careful and diligent staff who served up a meal that was better than the lovely view" I couldnt agree with him more :) I def would go back just to enjoy their flavourful signature dishes and would recommend this place to anyone :)

What a great restaurant. Beautiful smells and flavors throughout as meals are home made and the service is Top Shelf. Enjoy a plate when you're in Port Colborne.

A small pub along the canal with charming seafaring decor, historic photos and tall ship and laker models on the walls. The front of the restaurant opens to the sidewalk with a few tables outside. Had a late lunch here during a business trip. Had the special, turkey and bacon club on a ciabatta with a bowl of clam chowder. The club was sub par with the thinnest slice of tomato and lettuce. The ciabatta bun was the biggest letdown, more a kin to a whole wheat hotdog bun than a nice crusty ciabatta. The clam chowder was just so so, nice enough flavor but not much in the way of clams. As the soup bowls are so small you don't really get a hearty meal. Left feeling still hungry. The restrooms could really do with some updating.

This is a review of the restaurant. They have a couple of rooms for rent, for which I have left tips. We ate here twice, but the first time we had only appetizers, not mains. The food is good and satisfying, what one expects at a pub. Nothing stands out, but the Atlantic salmon was a big hit last night with my hungry brothers-in-law. I liked my beef and mushroom pasta in cream sauce. Great carrot cake! They have two special "Canalside" beers on tap.

Nice guy, feel bad about the poor rating, but I was ignored when I came in. Then he was talking up his crab cakes and he got me hook and sinker! Do not order them, they are tasteless. Clam chowder was almost tasteless (had to add tons of salt and pepper to taste anything at all) but the steak sandwhich with mushrooms was very tasty (and greasy) so it wasn't my tastebuds. Still an average sandwich. I agree with a previous review that his staff is busy yapping to each other, and ignoring the guests too much. The view in nice though.

My wife and I shared a 5 pc dinner, it came with 7 pieces of perch and a good amount of fries, although I like my fries crispy these are not, but they are my wife's favorite. Love that they have packages of malt vinegar for the fries, I feel that's a Canadian thing. The coke at a $1.75 was fair pricing. The view while on the park bench of the canal across the street while eating these treats, now that made it spectacular! Cheers!

The ships that make their way up the St. Lawrence River and the other way (all the way to Duluth MN) make their way through this amazing man-made marvel. Of course with the Great Lakes, many people do not know that commercial fishing (and boating fleets) make their way into Lake Erie for walleye, whitefish, and yellow perch (other lakes even harvest lake herring, chub, and trout). Minor Fisheries is a retail outlet that get their supply from the local fisheries. Minor has walleye, perch, whitefish. They even have smoked whitefish and walleye cheeks. Their fish fry is excellent...I had a 3 piece walleye, w vinegar slaw, and fresh cut fries (dinner roll included). All excellent. The walleye is like a panko-esque crust..very delicate flaky white fish. Everything was excellent and for a whopping 16 dollars Canadian...which as of this writing is about .74 cents on the dollar. Amazing value. Also...if you charge the dinner, use an Amex card....they give the best exchange rate. Will be back soon!

What a find!!! I almost don't want to leave a review because…read morethis place should really remain a secret !!!!! I lived in Dunkirk for several years, but the changes that they have made to the pier and boardwalk are really unbelievable !!!! Shops & restaurants and this gem!! Let me be very clear in saying that there are maybe three tables inside; this is definitely a grab and go restaurant . However there is a huge patio with many many tables even if they are full, which is doubtful, you could certainly grab a spot on the boardwalk nearby . We happened to have a beautiful night and we have an event to go to at SUNY Fredonia so a friend recommended this place . We waited about 15 minutes to place our order. After ordering we enjoyed our drinks out on the patio while we waited for our food. I opted for an alcoholic beverage while my son had a virgin piña colada. Our number was called maybe 15 minutes later and we were served absolute deliciousness. My son ordered the California, which was a delicious crispy fish sandwich while I opted for an Asian chicken wrap. Our food was absolutely delicious. Served just right. The food temperature was perfect and the portions were ample . The service was wonderful. If I ever come upon a beautiful night again in Dunkirk, I will definitely be visiting this place !!!!

But there's a good mix of other cocktails and beers too. The owner seems really nice, she was working the kitchen along with a couple other family members, good to see, especially since it was all women- love a female owned business that's doing well and doing it right. Chicken tenders were good, not great but I think they're on the menu to placate the kids coming so fair enough. The rest of the food was GREAT. We started with calamari and it was great, came with a lemon dressing already on it which was good and didn't detract from the crispiness at all. Also had lots of battered pepper rings as well, nice balance. Combo seafood basket was solid. The shrimp were great as was the haddock - all battered on site. Fries were thin and crispy. The winner though was the California Grouper sandwich which was a daily special. It was fantastic. I could have eaten two. Came on a soft roll, with slaw and bacon and avocado and I forget what else because I devoured it so quickly. I'd go back just for that sandwich. This place is definitely worth a stop if you're ever out by the lake.

My husband decided to get lamb chops . And when the order came, they were lamb T-bones. I pointed out to the waitress who went back to check with the chef and reassured us that those are lamb chops. I pulled out my phone to show her the difference and then she went back to the Chef. The second time she came out with a different response that those are in fact, lamb loins, and that's the best part of the lamb. I explained to her that tenderloin does not have a T-shaped bone inside of it and showed her a picture of on my phone as well. I asked to speak to the chef who never made it out. I also told them that the T-bones are half the price of lamb chops in any store restaurant or venue. No discount was made. Chef never came out and the rest of the food was quite mediocre.
