    Avocado Toast & Turkish Coffee
    Stephie L.

Oh, this place is so cute. Ever since I watched Physical: Asia and saw how strong the Turkiye women are, I've been wanting to try their cuisine. I finished a workout and happened to look on Yelp. To my delight I found this Turkish place in Fountain Valley. The ladies here are so cute. I wasn't brave enough though to try something completely Turkish and got the avocado toast instead. Still really delicious and I loved the flavoring on the egg. The Turkish coffee was so delicious and actually didn't give me a stomach ache like some other coffees do. Amazing. In addition, the small decorative touches are so cute like the flowers and the plating, I loved it. The rose jelly (?) with the nuts was excellent, I don't usually have that and it was so yummy! It was very kind to place that there for me to try! Next time I'll be braver and try more of their cultural foods! :) Side note: I loved the music. I stayed longer because I wanted to hear more!

Absolutely loved this place! We had a wonderful breakfast here everything was delicious, perfectly prepared, and super fresh. The service was fast, and the place was absolutely spotless. Bonus points for being a lovely woman-owned business! Highly recommend!

    This was an amazing spread!

Authentic Turkish food that transported us back to that unique sense of hospitality we experienced in Istanbul. Canan is so warm and lovely, and her food is delicious. I highly recommend! We felt welcomed the minute we arrived, like long lost relatives.

I was on my way to have breakfast at Paul's Coffee Shop but I parked in front of this bakery and said to myself "why not" I ordered myself an iced americano and a ground beef borek. The coffee I feel like I can get anywhere, so not bad, but the borek was pretty good, it was flaky and warm like a Vietnamese pate chaud. The gentleman helping provided excellent service. I didn't expect for him to bring my order to the table but he did was very nice. That alone would make me come back one day. It's not a place I would come back anytime soon but it was some I'm glad I gave a chance and try something new.

Pretty decor, very nice staff. Food is great. I got the soujuk omelette and it had sausages. Poached eggs were cooked just right. My sister got the panini which also had the sausages and she liked it. Matcha latte tasted too light, still ok and smooth though. If you're a matcha fanatic, it's better to get your matcha fix elsewhere. Rose latte was great. I'd come back again!

The meats served at this place are Halal which is what got us to visit Canan's Kitchen. The food was delicious, and the service had a cozy, at-home feel. Not surprising since it's a family-owned and operated spot. It made the whole experience really enjoyable..

What a hidden gem this spot is! One of the few spots serving Turkish food for breakfast in the OC and they are doing it so well here! The interior is well decorated and there's plenty of table seating when you walk in. There's 2 display cases at the front showing a variety of baked goods and sweets that they have available. I settled on ordering the breakfast plate as it sounded pretty unique and I was not disappointed! The plate included eggs, a mixed salad, honey & butter, homemade strawberry jam, olives, simit, two cheeses, & two cups of turkish tea with sugar on the side! It was all very delicious and I quite enjoyed being able to sample and try the different items at my own pace. The eggs were freshly cooked and the bread was warm when I bit into it. The mix salad was refreshing and the jam and honey were great to slather onto the bread! The turkish tea definitely woke me up and I loved the flavor of it. This breakfast plate was so hearty and I got pretty full after eating it so I would say you are getting your money's worth. The staff were also incredibly kind and helpful when I had any questions. I can't wait to bring my friends here to check out this spot and I highly recommend coming in if you want a Turkish breakfast, it's delicious!

What a beautiful quaint place. It is clean and there's traditional music playing in the background. Food was cooked to perfection

Let me start off by saying, what a hidden gem of a place! This was our first time there, my boyfriend and I. We wanted to try a place that was new and different. Was getting tired of seeing never ending Mexican restaurants. Don't get me wrong, we love Mexican food, but time to venture out for a variety. Never had Turkish coffee, delights except for Baklava or breakfast before, so we were looking forward to the experience. Okay, it was YUMMY!! Service was wonderful and welcoming. The owner, Canan was such a sweet lady! Was a pleasure meeting her, she was very engaging and was the one who brought out our drinks and food. Ambiance was casual, decor was very pretty inside, great cafe place to meet up with a friend or two because, or to go on a 4th date. Definitely going back again to try Menemen and other delights.

Soujouk Sausage Omelette with the small sausage cuts and fried eggs. Should be poached eggs
    Cherie E.

I ordered the spinach omelette and it was a decent portion and it was really flavorful for just a spinach omelette. And we ordered the soujouk omelette. First off the dish was supposed to have poached eggs and the eggs were way overdone. In fact, they were fried. The yolks were completely overdone. The soujouk sausage was spicy and good but they were small, cut the size of quarters. And the portion was really small for $18. Wasn't worth the money but all in all it was tasty. It comes with a small baguette and that was good. Probably wouldn't go back only because the soujouk sausage dish was the only one I liked and it really is not worth your money for that small portion.

Menemen (reminds of the African or Persian dish shashuka or Chinese tofu mapo)

Cute little place, food was good, and the service was super nice. I caught up with a girlfriend of mine and we literally sat there until 5 minutes till closing them and the restaurant didn't say anything (we didn't realize we had stayed for that long until we left that we noticed that their hours ends at 2:30 . Oooops! But anyway, very nice place to grab a lunch! I highly recommend! They also gave us this dessert called "Noah's Pudding" which was like rice pudding , cinnamon, nuts, beans and served cold. Very refreshing!

Wow, just wow... Was craving for Turkish coffee and I found this nearby. They open from 8:30am so I have to wait for 15mins and not known what to expect since it's very flowery decor at the entrance. Once I got it, the lady (cook, chef, staff, waitress) was asking if I want a menu so I say yes - not hungry since I was about to go to the gym after the coffee. The next thing I know, I ordered breakfast, Soujuk Omlette...just say that I cleaned the plate and the sesame bagel. The coffee, well, it was delis and it came w/ a sweet and rose water. She offered me a compliment cup of tea with I drank it like water...then the thing I know I ordered baklava (4 to be exact). Yup, there go my figure and the gym. I'm going home for a nap for sure. Thank you for a delightful foods and drinks. Hopefully I can control myself next time. Will be back, plus this place is "women owed business", definitely a cherry on top for sure.

Here's the Mixed Breakfast for 2! Yummy!
    Josie T.

Quaint and cozy place comes to mind in this Turkish Cafe. We wanted a new place to try something new for brunch and this place that was family-owned came up on Yelp nearby. Ali's service was very helpful and he recommended the brunch for 2 for $42 which includes the egg & sausage (part of personal choice), salad, fries, cheese pastry & platter, yummy nuts, olives, bread bagel, & crackers, honey & a house-made jam. So delish! We will be back and possibly bring my tea party group for next time!

I came craving something familiar and left feeling like I wasted both time and money. First Impressions (1/5) When I walked in, there was only one person working, handling the fryer, the register, and assembling plates. I genuinely felt bad for her, especially considering the steady line forming. What We Got (2/5) I ordered a regular plate, which is what I usually get at Halal Guys. Nothing customized or complicated, just the standard order I have had many times before at other locations. Taste and Quality (0/5) The food was shockingly bad. The rice was raw and crunchy, which was hard to believe at first. The meat pieces were tiny and very chewy, and the pita bread was extremely soggy. On top of that, it was only around 4 pm and the usual spinning meat and grill were not even on, despite the line picking up. Service (2/5) The worker was clearly trying her best, but one person running everything in a busy location is not realistic. She was constantly running back and forth between the fryer and the line, which made the whole operation feel chaotic and slow. Space and Atmosphere (3/5) The space itself was fine and what you would expect from Halal Guys. Clean enough, but nothing stood out positively enough to offset the food experience. Was It Worth It (0/5) Not at all. As someone who is pretty frugal and almost always finishes their meals, I could not finish this plate. It genuinely felt like a waste of $18. Final Thoughts This location does not seem to be held to the same standards as other Halal Guys in the area. This experience was disappointing from start to finish.

We decided to try two small instead of one large so that we could try at least two varieties. Both tasted similar. One just had 2-3 types of meat. I don't recall anything other than chopped up meat and spices in either. The pizza itself is a bit greasy for my taste, but I'm always down to try something new. We just ordered water. It took the machine more than a few minutes and more than a few tries to get ice, as if it hadn't been used in awhile. Once we got our ice water, the taste was nasty. I just set my water aside. It took about 30 min to get our food and it was just lukewarm, not hot as most pizzas are. Maybe this is how it's supposed to be, but not impressed. Make sure to pay attention to the pricing. They only have pizzas, but the price list shows the EGYPTION, MEXICAN & AMERICAN "way". The Egyption is the most expensive "way".... which is approximately $16 MORE PER PIZZA than the AMERICAN. Since it was my first visit, I took a moment to look over the menu before ordering. The employee helping me, Gigi, seemed visibly impatient while I was deciding. I then asked whether it made more sense to order a combo or purchase the burgers and sides separately, and her response was, "We already told you the price, so it's up to you at the end of the day." While that may be true, it felt dismissive and didn't really answer the question I was asking. After placing my order, I asked for ranch and house sauce. I was told, "50 cents," and then informed that one sauce was complimentary while the other would cost extra. I had no issue paying for it, but the interaction felt cold and transactional rather than welcoming. The food itself was okay. The fries were good, although the saucy fries could have used more sauce. The ranch dressing spilled throughout the bag, which made a mess of everything inside. I was also disappointed with the onion rings--there were only six in the order, which didn't feel like a good value for the price. Overall, the food was satisfactory, but customer service is a big part of the dining experience for me. I never felt particularly welcomed, and because of that, I don't see myself returning.

I've passed by Moonlight Pizza & Chicken many times on my way to Pro Nails & Spa. It's located in a…read morebusy plaza alongside other small businesses like Ikram Grill, K Salon Nails & Spa, and Hamle Market, with Taco Bell right next door. Across the street is Sam's Club, and Mile Square Park is just a short drive away-making it a lively and convenient area. One day, craving both pizza and Mediterranean food, I finally decided to stop in. They open at 11 AM, and I happened to be their first customer of the day. As soon as I walked in, I was warmly greeted by a friendly cashier who took my order and kindly asked if I wanted anything else. I decided to keep it simple and ordered a half-and-half buila-your-own pızza. While waiting. I noticed several awards displayed on the wall, including "Best of 2026" and "Best of 2025" from Business Rate. It's clear this place has earned a strong reputation, with customers praising everything from their Mediterranean buffet to their pizza and chicken. The menu offers much more than just pizza. They serve a variety of Turkish dishes such as Adana kebab plates, doner plates or wraps, meatball plates, lentil soup, chicken soup, and both half and whole roasted chicken meals. They also offer Turkish tea, desserts like baklava and Hira, soft drinks, and refreshing house-made lemonade. One thing that really sets them apart from other Turkish restaurants is their freshly made daily lahmacun--a Armenian & Turkish-style pizza topped with seasoned minced beef. Their garlic sauce is another standout-it's rich, smooth, and complements the food perfectly without being overpowering. It's definitely a must-try addition to any order. Moonlight Pizza & Chicken also offers catering, takeout, and delivery through Uber Eats and DoorDash, along with dine-in options and accommodations for larger events. Their prices are reasonable compared to other Mediterranean restaurants, making it an even better value. If you enjoy Turkish or Mediterranean food, I highly recommend giving this place a try. It has quickly become one of my go-to spots, and I'm already looking forward to going back and exploring more of the menu.

It's unfortunate I have never wrote a review of this place as I have been coming for years and…read moregreatly enjoyed their food. We went last night to celebrate a birthday and from the moment we pulled up I noted things were different. Ad's on the windows gone a few of the interior decorations gone and most evident was Mom and her son weren't there. I don't know the lady's name but she's been there for decades working her butt off. And I've watched her son grow into a man with his own kids. Mom, as I'll refer to her, was always so nice and welcoming. Her food was good and she made the best baklava I have ever had! Anyway, the place has changed hands. I'm bummed I didn't get a chance to say bye and I hope that things ended well, on their terms, and that Mom enjoys a long healthy well deserved retirement. Thank you so much for the wonderful food and memories. May God bless you and your family. As for the new owners, they seemed to be working hard and looked to be trying to keep things similar. I frequent the buffer and was glad to see the kufta, ground seasoned meat sticks in tomato sauce, still there. The shape was a little off. No green beans though! They were so good together. Their lentil soup was much different and totally blended smooth. Not bad, but I don't care for the consistency, the old way was much better. The chicken and rice soup was still there, all be it a bit watered down but good. Pizza at the buffet was alright. I didn't care for the pita bread with cheese and peperoni, it was kinda weak (this was not lamajun). All in all, it was alright and I'm sure I'll go back to see how they do. It's still a decently priced buffet. I do wish the new owners well and hope they try and keep some of the old recipes.
