The mountain of smoked salmon was tossed in some sort of dill cream sauce and placed upon a savory waffle. It was a match made in heaven and I truly loved it. My GF and I definitely returned, and we were warmly greeted by Sacha. We opted to enjoy our dinner in the nicely lit patio this evening. We ordered the Jumbo Lump Crab Cake, it had a great taste and the chipotle aioli drizzle gave it a nice kick. I ordered the Wine Tasting Flight and was surprised by the deliciously personalized wine variations. I really enjoyed all 3 as they also paired well with my dinner. Who knew there is an adorable French cafe in Old World out of all places. Stopped by for dinner after watching a World Cup match at the Biergarten and this place was absolutely solid and has a lovely happy hour. Enjoyed some delicious escargot, onion soup and Sauvignon Blanc. All were very reasonably priced and tasted amazing and authentic. My friends and I closed out with the chocolate Nutella crepe and that too was tasty! The bartender/server was super personable and nice. Food and drinks came out very quickly as well. I took a Tour de France today at Creme de la Crepe, and it did not disappoint! The great service , cozy atmosphere, and delicious food had me saying bonjour! I started with the fresh squeezed orange juice, which was the perfect tartness and temperature. Next came the plate of Salmon Benedict - smoked salmon, poached eggs, lemon creme sauce, on an English muffin. The plate included au gratin potato, fresh salad greens, and the freshest baked bread and strawberry jam. Voila! A marriage of flavor and texture that must have been concocted by some genius creature under the chef's hat. For dessert - I ordered the Kat - Nutella and strawberries on a whole buckwheat crepe. The French Eggs Benedict was delicious! The eggs were cooked PERFECTLY and yes, your homemade jam is superb! The Hollandaise sauce was so pleasant this time I hardly noticed it! All the flavors melded well together. THE ITALIAN coffee was AMAZING! I had two cups, but wanted more. The only complaint was it took awhile for our order to come and seemed there was only one waitress, so water & coffee wasn't filled as I had expected, but your restaurant was overly crowded due to the Christmas mart that was in full gear today.... They were genuinely warm, attentive, and the reason I'll probably give this place another shot. The food? My French onion soup did not give French onion soup. Cute little place for brunch over the weekend in old world market. Stopped in today for a quick bite. I ordered the French onion soup and he ordered the smoked salmon buckwheat crepe that came with a side of arugula salad. Service was good, we sat indoors because although it was sunny, too windy out to be on the patio area. His crepes were good, light and satisfying without being overly heavy. My French onion was too peppery. Way too much pepper in there that initially I thought it was too salty and kept having to blow my nose and drink more water to offset the taste before I realized looking at my soup that it was doused in black pepper. She insisted on making us wait at the door outside and was adamant about seating us despite me saying we didn't want or need food and didn't want to sit inside . We always have the most wonderful time at this cafe. First, I love that they carry Lavazza! Their coffee isn't overly bold or acidic, it's just perfect. The latte was so, so good. I would honestly order their coffee every day if I could. The food was phenomenal. Their baguette was buttery and airy, possibly one of the best baguettes we've ever had. We were there for my friends 40th birthday. We had the whole restaurant booked for our private party except outside. Cute littel place in Huntington Beach. Parking wasn't too bad located inside the Old World Village. We started with french onion soup which was superb. All the ones from other restaurants were on the salty side but this one from here was super flavorful and not salty at all. They paired all the appetizers with rose to start. The group had three options to pick from but my husband and I both decided to get soup. For our main course we opted in for Chicken Dijon and Beef Bourguignon and our main course was paired with cabernet sauvignon. Last but least for our dessert we got creme brulee and nutella banana and they were both delicious. Creme brulee was another level of creaminess and full of flavor. Glad we were able to try authentic French food and we all walked out happy. They definitely have lot of wine options vs beer options but Spaten beer we got were pretty good (almost tasted like better tasting New Castle beer). Definitely will go back for their breakfast. The refills for the coffee were free, which was lovely. The tea was quite good as well! The crepes were very well made, and the buckwheat was excellent. I will mark it down one star for the potatoes in the montagnarde being on the burnt side (they were crunchy on one side and made the crepe rather dry).
